During the course of purchasing a bed for our 5-year old son, the salesperson recommended a mattress for it. After waiting approximately 11 weeks with several unreturned phone calls, the set was delivered and set up. Since we were originally told it would be 2-4 weeks, they did pick up the charge for the del...ivery and set-up for the delay, which was nice. But to our disappointment, the mattress was far too high for the particular bed we purchased - the mattress was higher than the lowest shelf on the headboard, taking away the functionality of the bed. As soon as the delivery people put the mattress on the bed, my husband said, "I don't think that's going to work as it looks to big for the bed". They told him that he should sign and would have to talk to Furniture and Apppliance about it. He asked them for the plastic and immediately put the mattress back into it. When we called Furniture and Appliance and spoke with a manager, she told us they could not accept a return on the mattress. After several heated discussions, they thought they were doing us a favor by letting us return it for a 20% restocking charge. They were a complete headache to deal with and lacking in good customer service and honest management.
