FreshCo Rude staff

Same cashier on 2 occasions extremely rude and abrasive. Olena on name tag. Stand in line 20 minutes waiting for my turn, she closes register and tells me have to get into different long line. Just left my basket and walked out. (More to it than this, tone of voice and what she said rude and ignorant)

Same person week earlier rude and abrupt checking out my purchases, basically throwing my stuff down after scanning.

Hit and miss with stocking clerks on the floor, two are exceptional, but others, will ignore and walk past while having loud conversation in Punjabi with co-worker (laughing as they walk past)

I now go to Co-op food store and Superstore for my groceries.

Desired outcome: Just want people to know

FreshCo Kendalwood, plaza. Whitby, Ontario

I went to Freshco today, February 17th, 2021, at 12:00pm located in Whitby Ontario, Kendalwood plaza. I had such an awful experience. After buying my groceries the cashier took my receipt and threw it right at me for no reason. She would not even look me in my eyes at all during our brief interaction. After Paying for my groceries, I had my hand out to receive my receipt and she ignored my hand and threw my receipt Right at me. I asked to Speak with the manager and the cashier paged the manager. When the manager finally arrived, he appeared highly Disheveled and seemed very unfriendly. He was even worse than the cashier; he was very aggressive and loud. He greeted me in a loud and confrontation tone saying “ what is it; what’s the problem”, he didn’t even say hello. I thought he wanted to hit me. He attempted to make a big scene when I was trying my best to voice my complaint In a manner which would not draw attention. Each time I attempted to speak, the “ store manager “ would speak right over me and pretend that he could not hear me or understand what I was saying. I was very embarrassed as he was attempting to make a big a scene in front of many other customers. I noticed that he did not introduce himself or even have on a name tag, so I asked him his name and he did not want to share it with me, nor did he want to share the name of his employee, instead he kept saying, what is the problem? What is the problem? After much pleading, the manager finally gave me his name and his employees name. For the purpose of this review I have left out the names of these people to protect their identity. I have never experience such poor customer service in my entire life. I’m hoping to connect with head office About this dreadful and embarassing experience.

FreshCo Chips on sale

It happened at West dale Mall, Mississauga, Ontario location that we are living around there from 1993, we are going there 3 to 4 times a week for grocery shopping.

On Monday Jan. 31 2022, around 6pm I was there for a few little things to shop, when I was on the cash to pay, Cashier gave me a different price for chips that was priced with big sign for $1.25 but she charged me $2.50 that I mentioned her price! But she told me I am wrong and I picked the item from the side of the same shelf! I tried to show her how did I picked the item but she said "no you picked it from side shelf"! I told her you are insulting me but she started to scream "don't touch me"! I said "you are insulting me, I am not lire", at this time a Big Guy over 2 meter height with the Freshco uniform appeared and ordered me to "get out of here", I asked him "if I don't" "will you beat me?" he repeated the same again who I asked him to call Police, but he refused and it was going on for few minutes, I asked him for a manager

Who he left! And the cashier didn't serve me!

Notes:

1. Is this convenient for your customers to shop in your chain with Bouncer?

2. System is calling their customers lire for $1.25?

3. Why your system is highlighting with a huge sign on some shelves with big

Letter numbers a price of shelf and on the side of the same shelf has

Similar items with deferent price?

4. If people switching items accidently on the same shelf and your staff

Confessing "it happens all the time" why your workers insulting customers

As a lire only for $1.25?!

5. from when Grocery Stores are running with Bouncers?!

If you do not proceed for this complaint I have to put it in Facebook & Twitter.

FreshCo Product & service

Went to the store on Rymal in Hamilton, ON. Normally not my store but the flyer showed a few items for Chinese new yr that I wanted. Half the items that I wanted were not stocked or sold out. The other half that were there did not look anything like those showed on the flyer. For example, the pomello showed on the Jan 27,2022 was decorated with the new year greetings but the ones instore were just plainly wrapped in cellophane (is this considered false advertising?) Could not find the 'stem & leaf clementines' and when I approached an employee to inquire about it he litterally backed quickly away from me and asked loudly what I wanted from some 10' away. I was fully masked and understand about the social distancing and I had never seen such action before at any other stores. Made me feel like I had the plague or some fatal disease, or simply just because I am asian? After this I just walked out the store and didn't bother to look at anything else. So glad this is not my local store.

FreshCo Nestea Iced Tea Expired

Store 3876

Was in a hurry and so went in the asile of juice and picked up the jucice I wanted. Did a self checkout and came home.

Purchased the Iced Tea from Nestea on which the expiry date was January 5,2022 and I purchased it on January 27,2022. The product was still sitting in the asile.

I would like to get this problem fixed asap.

FreshCo Staff, store & self checkout setup

Absolutely no baskets available.
Self check no bags at any register so I guess you shouldn't buy more than you can carry in your hands

FreshCo Customer service

I was overcharged for 30 cents. Asked cashier to refund the money. She called for help. Help arrived after 4 calls (almost 10 minutes). Cashier refused to confirm the price herself. Even though I was first in queue, I was made to stand aside while help arrived. There were so many people waiting for billing yet they had only 2 counters open. People have to stand in really long queues for billing

FreshCo Absolute no regard for patrons health and safety

This afternoon I went to your FreshCo store in Welland ON (store 9718). And was not impressed with a couple of things.

Before I go into what has made me decide to send this email and choose to never give your this store my business I want to give a shout out to the cashier. Her name is Melissa. It actually made me really happy to see that at least she was taking this pandemic serious. Aside from being very polite and Courteous she Also was insuring the protection of the patrons by double masking (wearing a surgical mask and a cloth mask).

Now, the store manager (I'm assuming manager because his face was on the wall) was checking out in front of me. I will attach the pictures that I took to this email. However, I cannot believe that as a manager he would have so little regard for his patrons health and safety. The government has been constantly telling us how to properly wear our masks and here he is wearing his mask in an inappropriate manner. Barely covering his mouth and having his entire nose exposed.

The second issue I have with said manager is that he was purchasing an abundance of toilet paper. If you remember when the pandemic first started and everyone was hoarding it, well he is contributing to the hoarding of toilet paper. I understand buying in bulk but over 6 packages of toilet paper is excessive since people are back to hoarding with the most recent updates from our government.

I know nothing will probably happen with this email but I needed to voice my opinion as I have family that is considered "vulnerable" and do not need them contracting covid and do my best to ensure their safety but when you have employees thinking they are above all of us and especially someone in power that is not ok. Clearly no regard for patrons health and safety.

I can assure you, this store will not be getting my business going further for quite some time.

I also tried sending an email to the address that has been posted several times and each time it bounces back...

The treatment by this idiotic [censored] of an individual I would like to think does not reflect the fresco brand, but if nothing is done, then that would appear so. Until I hear an appropriate remedy, I will never shop there again. Utter reprehensible behavior... Pathetically insecure, and unwarranted. His personal fears should not affect the impression he leaves on paying customers. He should be issuing a public apology, and fired. If he worked in my store, that would be the least of what would happen...

Desired outcome: employee should be fired for severe misconduct and disrespect to a paying customer ..

FreshCo Price matching

Our local freshco has discontinued price matching on grocery stores not in our town. They will honour discount grocery stores in our area, but not one of their apparent companies, Foodland. Is this the policy of all Freshco's, and can they decide on their own price matching policIes. When they advertise they should stipulate that they are selective when it comes to price matching. Thank you

FreshCo Silent auction

Freshco on St. Annes had a silent auction for Special Olympics. The starting bid was $200. Both myself and my friend bid the exact same number which was the starting bid of $200. I had heard rumours that this was a scam and wanted to see. Sure enough a few weeks later we both received a phone call from a woman telling us that we had won and that we had to give her our credit card info over the phone. What? I said no. I would never give my credit card info to a stranger. She said she would contact her company in Toronto as nobody had ever had a problem giving their credit card number. This was a warning bell. I asked why Toronto as the auction was for Special Olympics in Manitoba? She couldn't answer. I looked up her name. She doesn't work for Special Olympics. I reverse searched her phone number to an apartment that was pretty close to the Freshco location. She tried calling me a few times. She called my friend over a dozen times. Neither of us answered. I did more research. Some of this money may go to Special Olympics but this is a scam. This is not a fund raiser. It's a money maker. Very disappointed and telling everyone I know. I did donate money to Special Olympics in Manitoba. Any number you write down is a winner. Don't fall for it.

Desired outcome: Stop this scam or have better advertising. it is not an auction.

FreshCo Disappointing service at ER

To Customer Relations:
On the evening of Sat. Nov. 27/21, I was at the Burlington Upper Middle-Walkers Linen Freshco store and, among other things, purchased (or tried to purchase) 6 cases of "Benedetto Passata" which was on sale. At checkout, the cashier informed me that there was a limit of 2 cases, even though no such information existed on the price tag -- the only other information on the price tag, besides price, was "until supplies last". Furthermore, no such limit was specified on the Freshco flyer!
I then asked to speak to the manager. The manager, Amy, argued that the limit condition was indicated at checkout, to which I responded that it should be clearly indicated on the price tag, or at least on a separate sign with the merchandise. Furthermore, it's ridiculous and asinine to expect customers to line up at checkout in order to obtain such information. Despite the fact she agreed with me, she (and her general manager, Robin?) stuck to their limit of 2.

As a business owner myself, I fully understand that this "omission" constitute blatant FALSE ADVERTISING. If it is a genuine error (actually, two errors -- one on the flyer and one on the price tag), then the customer should be allowed to purchase the quantity desired and the error rectified thereafter for future customers.

Since this is not the first time I've experienced similar situations at FreshCo, I'm keen to hear from head administration as to where they stand on such issues.

May I remind you sir every FreshCo and other stores limit it to 20 items of the same as it is not a wholesale company otherwise they would have to pay more tax that is why it is 20 only no more so quit being greedy sir.

FreshCo Service

I was in an arguement with a customer who cut the line in front of me and Sophia intervened and allowed this customers behaviour and told him she "understands" and proceeded to ignore me when I was the one that was inconvenienced. This upset me and I asked her to speak with the manager and Daniel N intervenes and proceeds to take a video recording of me on his personal phone without my consent as I'm expressing my frustration to him. My sister who was behind him caught him and he proceeded to put the phone in his pocket and Deny. Salman intervene at this point and asked Daniel if he had recorded me and Daniel said no and Salman left it at that and didn't do anything at all to apologize for the behaviour or actions of his employees and proceeded to act as if he had better things to do. I believe Daniel had malicious intentions to record me a female on his personal device his entertainment and pleasure and I will pursue legal actions if there is no follow up

Desired outcome: I need a follow up as to what is being done to coach employees as my privacy was violated

FreshCo The owner of the store (Salman Gumman)

I went for shopping with my kids few days back, I was in meat section, and a owner name salman gumman came from back room, without any reason he started to swear
F"""" words on his employee,
Poor guy just stood there and said nothing in return, like what kinda professional management is it? No respect for people around, customers, or his employees?
And when I stepped in and all I said was that
- you shouldn't yell or use F words in store or on your employee, it's not appropriate, and in return he salman said back to me rudely,
- you mind your own business, and don't talk in between, i pay him, so I hav th right to yell at him.

I'll never shop nor I want any of my relatives to shop from a store that has such a rude owner with no management and no customer service experience.

Someone from head office needs to send in undercover person randomly to investigate on this inexperienced owner salman gumman

FreshCo Long line at checkout Kingston

The picture shows a long line where I waited for more than half an hour on Monday evening. This company is either not hiring enough people or paying employees the lowest rate possible. I shop here every week and spend around 300 dollars every week, but for the past few weeks things are getting worse here. This is just disrespectful to customers and their time. Also the elderly women working here are more efficient.

Desired outcome: Hire more people with higher wage

FreshCo Was unable to use my rain check due to lack of product

The store provided me with the rain cheque for compliments large eggs 30 pack. I came to the store on September 3, 2021 and those eggs were not available. So, the teller told me to call on Monday, because she said they get new stock of eggs on Monday. I called today and a worker told me that the compliments 30 pack large eggs were available. When I came to the store the eggs were still not available. I spoke to the store manager and asked her if she can substitute them with a different brand, however she refused. So, I spoke to the owner of the store and he told me they only ordered the compliments 30 pack medium eggs, but even those ones were not on the shelf. I asked the owner if he was able to substitute them with a different brand of the same size eggs which were also a 30 pack but he refused. He proceeded to tell me that he is not sure if he will be ordered the compliments 30 pack large eggs before my rain check expires. That to me is very frustrating and makes it a complete waste of my time to have to keep coming back to the same store in hope of availabilty.
I am dissapointed of how the owner couldnt take responsibility for the lie the worker had told me over the phone, which is the reason for my complaint. The owner Paul acted very unproffessionally towards me and has personally ruined my experience of ever coming back to this FreshCo location.

Desired outcome: Apology and 2 Free 30 pack of large eggs for waste of my time.

FreshCo Cashier at the front Trenton Ontario and the store in general

This is my 3rd time going to the store. I wanted to give it another chance after been there two times before today. The first time there was not enough cashiers the long line up around the perimeter or the store like a big u shape took for ever for my purchase to pay I was only picking up hot dogs and buns. I ended up leaving without the purchase this summer. Second time I asked the cashier what kind of bag options I had (I forgot my bags in the car) she offered me the small green fabric ones by the store at $25 each. They did not have the paper or plastic bags as an option. I told her no thanks. Had to put all in the shopping cart to bag it in the parking lot. Today there was no line-ups. I noticed the first cashier to the very right of the store, looking from the back of the store. I started unloading, kind of half of the product where on the counter, she said "I did not call you, I called the next one on line" I looked around nobody was there no line up. I put the stuff back on my cart, after saying I was sorry that I did not hear her page. When I took one step back, a loose huge plastic sign that was seating loose on the floor leaning on a wire basket with product, slide off to the floor, I knock it down with my purse I had over my shoulder. And she gave me an attitude saying: you knocked down the sign!, I said excuse me for moving, all is tight here and you are doing nothing but giving me [censored] since I come over to pay I wish you stop it. I was disappointed because she was older and with an attitude showing on her face. If she was having a bad day it is not my fault, neither that the sign is loose 6 inches away from the counter. I told the other cashier when she asked me how I was doing today, that today was the 3rd and last time I shop at such a dark, cold, bad service environment. No more feshco for me

FreshCo worse service, undeliverable rain check

I went to buy Culinasian noodles through a flyer on this Thursday, and I was told it was out of stock. It is only available from Friday and provides me with a rain check. When I went again today (Saturday), I still didn't find this item. At around 6;30 pm on Saturday afternoon, there was not much passenger flow, but the staff were lazy, and I asked them for help. They are indifferent. I asked the cashier to help paging someone to help me, but I don't know if the machine is broken, or her voice is low and unclear, no one comes to help me at all. I had been waitting for a long time, and no one came to help me deal with it. the cashier was just waiting for me to leave. If you insist on not restocking, please do not write this item on the flyer, and do not provide rain tickets that cannot be redeemed at all. All in all, it was a very disappointing and sad experience, which you would never encounter in other supermarkets. Your service is really problematic.

yesterday I went to buy a case of mangos but they were sold out . I asked for a raincheck was told they don't issue for seasonal products. there are no exceptions on their sign. this is false advertising and not fair treatment of customers

FreshCo Employee Harassement

Today I was harassed by an employee at Freshco, McCowan and Ellesmere. As I approached the cart area to get a cart, a man aggressively came right in my face. He shouted this. "Can't you see I am putting these carts away". "Go get another one." I was shocked at his aggressive behavior and told him I did not see what he was doing. Again he shouted " Get another cart". At that point I felt, as a customer that I was being harassed by this employee. He may have been putting the carts back in their position. That I did not see as I approached. His Demeanor his physical aggressiveness and tone of voice were appalling. I said, I was sorry, but that was not good enough for him. Again, he got closer to me in a more aggressive way. I backed off and told him, "Isn't the customer right". He said "No. The customer is not always right". I went to seek out a manager. When the manager was paged on the intercom. The individual in question ran through the store looking for the manager so he could explain the situation first. I prevented that by following him. Eventually the manager came to me and I explained the situation, He said he would talk to the owner. This is not customer service I expect as a long time customer. Customer service is so important today. Hopefully my multiple posts in Google reviews, Yelp, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter will show the owner that employees like this should be terminated.
