few years back when i used to take a chance with projects on freelancer.com, i did not submit to them displaying all my names/ middle names on my profile for any user. At some point they introduced a thorough identification and then all my names were displayed on my profile- i am a name-2 middle-names guy and my second name is in my username. I tryed 2 times to ask them why and how i can change at least my last name and all they could come up was with their current policies. I can be easily found on social media with all the info they display and i am not confortable with that.
Desired outcome: posibility to change the username and/or keeping just a first name and a last name capital eg "jhon m."

I requested withdraw 19 Jan, freelancer.com locked the amount $800, and required ID verification. So my balance is negative.

I earned $800 after working from my client. Jan 20, They limited my account, and required ID verification. I submitted document, but after 48 hours, they are holding money, and no reply.

On January 29, they suddenly closed my account without specifying any reason. So all the funds in my account were robbed by the freelancer.
I was so unfair that I blew a ticket asking for a reason, but there was no news for a while.
So I wrote an article expressing my anger on TRUSTPILOT.COM, and a message from them came to my invox as if they were trying to save face.
The reason why my account was cut off is that a program that does not know ethics or morality determined that I manipulated the review and automatically deleted it.
Even so, there is no word about my funds.
I worked there for many years and to keep the terms and conditions, I refused to seduce clients to work outside, and sometimes the clients I met at Social also worked there, and their "smart" program made me instantly I called him a scammer and robbed the money I earned with blood and sweat.

After 3 days, I received an email from a Freelancer support member named John C, but there is no correct reason and no way how to reopen the account. I don't think that I violate the terms of the freelancer platform and actually, I have never been violating terms and I tried to keep up with the terms. And again passed 3 days, and there is no other response from the support team. Really I want to reopen my account and if I violated the terms, I want to know correctly about that. As a full stack developer, I worked at freelancer.com from 2021. I worked with many clients and they left full reviews.
Unfortunately, my account has been limited during two weeks because of one client as he awarded me with different account. So freelancer detected it as kind of money laundry and request me ID verification and answer their questions.
They proved my ID and listened my answer but they closed my account at 23/1/2023. I was very disappointed.
I lost nearly $900 on account and 3 live clients at the same time. My clients contacted support team but they didn't care about it.
I hope freelancer.com company would refund my money and reactivate my account for me and my clients as well.

I had $1240 in my account.
I sent a message to the support team to say sorry and ask to be reactivated or refund money.
But they send only ticket.

In freelancer.com, I think I tried to not violate their rule.
Not working outside and create milestone on the freelancer.com and paid fee always.
I never worked without milestone.
If clients ask Anydesk or Teamviewer, first create milestone and worked.
So I am proud of it.

They closed my freelancer account without any reason and without any notification. I came to realize that someone was trying to hack my account without my notice I had a project going on there at that time, more than $600. This was very painful and gave me a lot of panic attacks since I was waiting to withdraw the money and clear my debts and buy food for my kids since I have no other source of income and my children are starving. I have filled in tickets many times, but they always give me the same reply every time.

Client initiated some funding for project assigning process, later not received any positive response.

I Freelancer User [edited] and looking for data entry jobs which can be done from home. I choose this platform to continue my professional career. Recently I applied for bid, for that I get response from Aima F.@mairafirg and suggested me to give Freelancer Username , Name , Age and Country Name to their email: [protected]@gmail.com then I sent details through email. As per their instruction I submitted the filled form through https://freelancer-data-work-form01.paperform.co/ .With some terms and conditions they initiated to pay Rs1000 to [protected]@oksbi as security deposit and to fill with duly signed contract form and technical instruction form. After submission of both these form and security deposit acknowledgement, they initiated to contact @iRazoo_samual with telegram app. Later he initiated me to send the screenshot of security deposit 1000Rs to verify and to assign project. Then I sent him screen shot of security deposit which is paid to [protected]@oksbi account for the project plan 1. After verification he sent me 25 pages jpg file. Later he immediately initiated me to give international bank account details for the payment purpose. When he knows I didn't have any international bank account he told me to call with telegram app, he will suggest solution. After calling through telegram, he told me that many of freelancer users didn’t have international bank account, for such users they create account within freelancer platform for all types of currency transactions for that purpose we need to pay extra 3000Rs to create account. This process takes only 10 minutes, once the account is generated, he will share login details to me later we can withdraw this amount. (He didn’t give me time to think and quickly responding until rest of the payment transfer). He initiated to pay 3000Rs for the same UPI id [protected]@oksbi in which I have already paid security deposit 1000Rs. As per his instructions I paid Rs 3000 for the same UPI id. Once the money transferred to that account, he stopped responding to me. He told me the whole process takes 10 minutes time once the process is completed, he will send login details to me. I have waited for reply but no response from him. I started conversation with him to refund the money otherwise I will lodge the complaint against him and those who involved in this scam. He blocked and deleted all the conversation chat, but he doesn’t know I have already taken the screenshot. I gave him 24 hours’ time to refund, but he is not refunded. Whole these situations I explained with mail to original source [protected]@gmail.com and initiated them to refund my money. But they don’t give any response. I have attached all details for your kind reference. Please go through it and take necessary action to avoid other users couldn't face same problem in future which I faced, also suggest them to refund my payment. Hope you will do the needful.

This complaint is not against freelancer site, it is against the client those who scams freelancer users who looking for job/projects. I trust on them is my big mistake. As I am new user of this platform I learned more from this incident. The main intention of this complaint is to secure other freelancer users from such types of scams. I really appreciate for the freelancer support team for their positive response in shorter period of time and also thankful for their guidelines which gives me positive energy. I will try my level best to resolve this complaint at earliest. Another most important thing for freelancer user those who looking for jobs/projects, don't make any kind of payments like security deposit, processing charges etc to the client's, those who demands for jobs/projects outside freelancer platform and don't give them any response outside freelancer platform through mail, whatsapp, telegram or any other social media platform. I have attached all details to know all of you how the clients are acts when we paid them outside this platform. Please read all the terms and conditions of freelancer.com thoroughly before placing any bids.

I'm very sad and heartbroken after reading your last response because it's very early for you guys to make that kind of decision-related to my account closure without any warning or temporary suspension, it's very easy for you guys to close an account but for me, it was my only bread and butter, I've worked hard to become a writer and someone told me to open a freelancer account and use my skills there, I left my job from a reputable firm and started my own freelancing. I'm a UK citizen, I've provided all the details which were officially attested by the government bodies of the United Kingdom, my passport, my picture, the utility bills of my UK residence, my UK number, etc. Everything which I provided was approved by Freelancer and after that, I started working on it, My bank account is UK based, and my location and everything, I just opened my freelancer account in the USA once when I went there for a family event, I didn't know that it's going to be a problem since I'm very new to freelancer. With that being said, I don't know which kind of terms and conditions you are referring to which I have apparently breached, If opening my account in the USA was a problem then I can understand and I won't be opening it in the future whenever I plan to travel next. Apart from this issue I would like to know the exact reason why my account was blocked, when I came back from the USA I logged into my account and it was asking for verification, I did the verification again like I did the first time and after that, you blocked my account by saying the picture is blurred, I have uploaded the high res pictures and not sure what went wrong. I would really appreciate a second chance here with a warning. Because apart from opening the account in the USA once I did nothing wrong. My bank account matches my details, my Id is UK based, my passport is British, and my address is Manchester. I live here. What kind of additional proof do you want so that you can authenticate my UK residency and citizenship?

I wanted to withdraw money from my Freelancer account today, so I did verifying my Identity (IC card etc). When I finished, i become an email from Freelancer with this message.

They deducted money from my bank account ($9,99) without my authorization. After a month's trial (you have 4 options to choose from - Basic $4,95, Plus $9,99 etc) I became a Plus member overnight. Keep in mind I am on another platform as well (and earning money on that platform so it would make sense to rather apply for a membership there or support them instead of Freelancer. Why would I even consider paying for a service when I am not even familiar with them? It would even make more sense to choose the $4,95 option when testing a product? How many other people has had this happened to them? So, if say "1000 people pay $9,99 without authorizing it and they just let it slide, Freelancer would have made $999,00 just like that?" Anyway. I then spoke to someone on Freelancer today who then eventually said that they will refund me, only to credit me on my Freelancer profile. Which is useless because you need at least $30 in your account to transfer it to your bank or Paypal. Plus the fees involved? At this stage, I am no longer interested in using Freelancer. I would just really appreciate it if they can correct their mistake and once the money has been transferred back into my bank account, close my Freelancer account, as I no longer wish to be part this platform.

I don't know what I will do if I can't receive my projects. It gave me a lot of anxiety. And I have seen hundreds of people who went through the same problem. People trust freelancer.com to work safely and easily. But there is no accountability mechanism. They closed hundreds of accounts without any reason! And not refunding money!
Refund lost, freelancer not responding.
Around October 28th, request a refund of our funds in the amount of $303 USD and according to the records of Freelancer.com, the refund was sent on October 30 to the same Credit card with which it was deposited. 8 days later, the refund is still not returned, and according to my bank there is no pending deposit, Despite the fact that according to Freelancer's terms, the deposit must occur between 3 and 5 days maximum.

Freelancer.com asked me to verify my identity, I sent them my driving license, my bank statement, my photo holding a specific phrase, and all the other info they requested.
But they refused to verify my identity and especially my residential address, even though I provided my address with a bank statement and an ID card.
When you try to contact support then sent auto-generated replies. Not even a single person is there to reply.
Please, anyone who can resolve my problem, thank you in advance.

Getting verified to receive my earnings
I have around $300 dollars in my account that I wish to withdraw. First, there is no way I can get it because the withdrawal methods do not cater to my country and second I asked them I want to close my account beacause after 4 years on the platform I only got like 3 jobs. But I can't get my earnings, I need minimum of 500 dollars, but that would mean I'd have to continue working on this platform which I so eagerly want to quit.
