Forrest General Hospital ER department NP Jennifer

My name is Michael Stephenson, on 1/22/24 I cam in through ambulance. I fell in my bathroom and broke 2 ribs and fractured several more. They would not help me due it stating in my paper work that I was on suboxone but I detoxed from that. I returned to ER 0n 1/25/24 because the pain is unbearable. I spoke with manager that I thought would help me and I requested not to see NP Jennifer that I wanted to see an MD. I was still seen by NP Jennifer even after I asked them not to see her. She made me very uncomfortable. I let NP Jennifer know that I will have to reach out to the streets but would rather not because of how danger fentanyl is on the streets I could die. All she did was smile and walk away. This is not a smiling matter.

Desired outcome: Held accountable. Change policy to be more harm reduction doctor and meet people at their needs and I'm not saying to prescribe lots of opiates but at least give a person that has broken ribs enough to relive pain.

Forrest General Hospital Same Left Hand Issue

To this point there has been zero response to my complaint about damaging a nerve in my lefthand while trying to draw blood. My index finger and little finger still is still numb. The little finger is painful, the index finger while still numb isn't as bad. The damage was done when someone from I'm guessing the lab tried to be blood from my left hand. I was admitted through the ER om July 4th. and spent a week as a patient.

To this point I haven't heard a word about my complaint. Please respond!

Wally B.

Desired outcome: treatment and reversal of the nerve damage.

ER department has gotten off the right path. Now you are seen by doctors who don't care and do just enough to send you a whopping bill.

Forrest General Hospital Phone call with hr drug screening department

I talked to a very rude lady named Peggie. Her extension is [protected]. I did not appreciate her being rude and saying she was tired of repeating herself, but she was not answering my questions at all. I was trying to get in touch with the policy department in regards to a positive marijuana result. I have a prescription, but I have stopped using ever since I was offered the job. All I wanted was to talk to someone who could actually help. She did not help and had a rude attitude. The only thing she would tell me is “I don’t know” instead of transferring me to someone that could help. She told me that Forrest General is not responsible for the drug tests, but when I call the lab testing center, I was told that it is Forrest General’s policy. To which I called Peggie back, and still no help. This is unprofessional and I will be taking action on this treatment.

Desired outcome: I would just like to speak with the director or the person in charge of the policies.

Forrest General Hospital Nooooo to forrest general

My brother was stabbed and he received surgery however he became swollen and was hoping they would help him here and that definitely wasn’t the case. He received NOTHING but unfair treatment, he calling the buzzer basically crying out for help and all they wanted to do was keep hooking him up to IV fluids which he needed a antibiotic and needed a tube inserted to remove all this infection that he had gotten..I thank God I went to visit him and saw his condition for myself and oh my God he looked bad,I took him out of there without signing nothing and drove him straight to Jackson which thank God I took my chances on that. Got him here and he’s since, in one day, has gotten relief..they found out where the swelling was coming from and draining it, stomach has even went down some and he’s on antibiotics which Forrest general said he didn’t need to be on(a lie)..he needed them, has let out so much infection in one day in tube..has got on a blood pressure pill, which again Forrest general said he didn’t need(again a iie)..to top it off dr wasn’t even trying to help him and the nurses on floor 3 was RUDE and guess they just didn’t care to get housekeeping into his room them 4 days he was there! I pray they love ones don’t ever get this kind of treatment in they life because this was so wrong..killing him slowly just by ignoring him, guess waiting on sepsis to take him out..but thank you God for giving me driving grace to make that ride to check on him..Don’t take y’all frog there!

They must hoard the antibiotics for the white people cause getting them to give correct care while there can cost you your life. They are a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Forrest General Hospital Dr. Roy Reeves

Your CMO Insurance Agency brokered insurance for my daughter. Ambetter Magnolia. Forrest General was in-network, we were told. Finally got appt w/ Dr. Reeves after months of trying to schedule one. She presented her insurance card and a co-pay was charged and paid, $105.54. Dr. Reeves advise daughter b4 she sat down that she might want a different Dr. bc he wouldn’t prescribe Adderall, which she has been on for years. Again, in the middle of the session, Dr. Reeves told her he “would understand” if she chose another psychiatrist.

She was afterwards billed for $360.46 balance. Reeves office said they didn’t accept her insurance, which had been valid on 2 previous visits to Hattiesburg Clinic Family Medicine.

Her insurance was purchased thru the Market Place as she was unemployed. She selected the best plan, per your company’s advice, to include Forrest General and Hattiesburg Clinic. Dr. Reeves office claims they don’t have to accept this insurance. But, if they charged a co-pay, they knew what to charge and did not advise that they did not accept her insurance.

Desired outcome: Discharge the $360.46 balance. Sanction Dr. Reeves bc he told her he couldn’t help her b4 she even sat down. And, I’d appreciate a response.

Forrest General Hospital Horrible treatment and triage

Petal resident and fellow hospital employee 3/24/2022 I accompanied my 15 year old son to the ER for severe chest pains. We arrived there with him being doubled over with pain and with his vital signs abnormal as well. Only to be put in the waiting room that was filthy and unkept and held for 3 hours only to have the ER tech tell me that 8 people are ahead of us and that we could leave... and there's no beds available. I'm not sure what the procedures are but I'm sure that someone needs to be given a lesson in patient care and courtesy... I then went to have a seat and wait another hour, to be told that she would be completely comfortable with letting us go home and follow up with a pediatrician...🤷🏽‍♀️ if there was nothing wrong with him, I'm more worried that we're leaving with something we didn't come with...

Desired outcome: I would appreciate if a lesson in patient care could be taken.

Forrest General Hospital ER Visit

I went in at 7pm on Christmas Day for severe abdominal pain. They spent 2 minutes evaluating me and getting vitals then sent me to labs. At that point, they said there were about 6 people in front of me. After about 3 hours of crying in pain in the waiting room I asked a nurse for a Tylenol. She gave me two, apologized for the wait, and told us she'd keep us updated. I understand that they're understaffed and it's a holiday so I didn't expect her to come back and wasn't upset when she didn't. I was upset because at the 6 hour mark I asked another nurse how many people were in front of me and she said I had 7 people in front of me. In 6 hours of waiting I only had one tech recheck my vitals. No one checked my pain or reevaluated my abdomen. They kept pushing me behind people until we finally left. I drove 10 minutes down the road to another hospital where they found appendicitis within an hour. The second hospital was just as busy but didn't shove patients in a waiting room and forget about them. I've worked in EMS for five years and never would've disregarded my patient like that. Being understaffed is not an excuse for careless mistakes. They didn't even order a scan. My appendix would've ruptured if I waited until they were ready for me at Forrest General.

Forrest General Hospital Nursing/general care

My daughter Ashton Stuart who is 6 months pregnant had to be rushed to the hospital because she was in a lot of pain and thought it was just a stomach virus when she arrived there she was taken up to labor and delivery so they can monitor the baby where she requested on several occasions for doctor Stewart to be contacted. Although she was taken own up to labor and delivery she was made to wait a long time before anybody with any kind of pain relief for her would come in and when they gave her some pain medicine she had an adverse reaction to it which they ignored. She only got one bag of drip which was not nearly enough. She was severely dehydrated and requested more but was denied. She also requested a cup of water 2 drink several times but all she got was promises and excuses. This is just a condensed version of what happened with my daughter yesterday. There was a lot more neglect than I can post on here. What the hell Forrest General? I mean really, what the hell? The amount of neglect was mind boggling.

Desired outcome: Apologize and straighten your [censored] up

Forrest General Hospital Emergency room

My name is Tara Taylor and I am writing on behalf of my husband Matthew Taylor. My husband was sent to the ER Monday morning (8-9-21) by his Dr., due to his blood pressure being extremely high. He arrived at the ER at approximately 10:30 AM, and was released from the ER Tuesday morning (8-10-21) at approximately 5:00 AM. He sat in the waiting room for nearly 15 hrs. before ever being seen by a dr. This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. My husband is in end stage Renal failure and does dialysis every night at home. Due to being at the hospital he was not able to complete dialysis last night. He is also diabetic and went all day yesterday and last night without any insulin. The ER personal knew this, he even told them yesterday and they still allowed him to sit in the waiting room all day without insulin. This morning his blood sugar level is so high that the glucometer would not read it, it would only state HI. Now we are looking at another trip to the hospital due to this. After sitting in the waiting room for 8 hrs. my husband asked to leave saying he would just see his Dr. the next day, he was then threated with AMA and being sent a large bill from the hospital. I am not sure what the hospital thought they could charge him with since he had not seen a Dr.? I am appalled at this treatment, my husband came home worse off than when he went seeking help for his blood pressure. I understand that things are crazy during this time due to COVID, however I find sitting it the ER for nearly 20 hrs. astounding under any conditions. This is not our first experience with this kind of treatment from the ER, I could recount numerous occasions when we have sat in the ER for over 8 hrs. waiting to get help. On one occasion we were put in the overflow area and forgotten. I know this to be true because when the nurse practitioner came in to see us she told us that she noticed we had been on the board for a long time and decided to pick us up. As I stated earlier I am appalled at this treatment and knowing that my husband came home in worse condition than when we went, he is currently on the phone trying to figure out what to do with his blood sugar and dialysis. This hospital should be ashamed!

Forrest General Hospital Emergency Room Doctor and Nurses

I was seen on the 31Dec2019. I complained of stomach pains above my navel and my upper right abdomen. Ct Scan was performed showed I had Fibroid tumor in lower abdomen. Kept explaining that I couldn't eat had lost over 15 lbs already. Was told it was the fibroids and I had to learn how to deal with them. Gave me a nausea pill and a freaking Lortab after she said she couldn't give me anything for pain. 2 weeks later they're removing my gallbladder. Was not taking seriously and every Nurse on call was to busy worrying about getting off the service was not satisfactory. I rather stay home and suffer before I go back to this rude hospital ever again!

The nurses and crnas are very rude! They look like they are miserable with their lives! I took my sister to Forrest General the day she was going to have her baby and Iris told her to be there at 5am! We got there at five and they said we had to wait for a room because WE DIDNT CALL FIRST! We finally got a room an hour and a half later. Not recommended

Forrest General Hospital emergency room

History: 45 year old male, IBS, no gall bladder or appendix, previous two weeks on a diet of potatoes due to IBS, 12 pounds lost in last month, presented with severe pain in upper abdomen under rib cage, pain so severe blood pressure was elevated and body trembling. Anything drink or food over the past two days causes severe pain for hours after intake. Time in: 12:30 PM. EKG completed immediately: negative result. Moved to room. Nurse Practitioner shows up and says she will run some test. I'm walking around in circles in the room due to pain. At 2:30, two hours after arrival I was administered 10mg morphine. Shortly after an X-ray and CT scan with contrast showed nothing. Bloodwork came back normal. Haven't seen the NP since I got there and never saw her again, just a nurse. At about 8:00 PM a nurse walks in and says they are working up my discharge because everything was negative. During this stay I hadn't eaten or drank anything and was given one bag of fluid. I again informed the nurse that I couldn't eat or drink without pain and even taking oral medication made the pain worse. So, I had quit eating and drinking early that morning. Shortly thereafter a different NP came in, that I've never seen, and said she was discharging me with norco, a stomach coating liquid, and Prilosec. I told her that taking medication made it worse and she said well, there is nothing she could do and that a gastroenterologist was not gonna come up there to do a single upper GI. She didn't even call and talk to the GI on call. I guess they get paid to just "be on call" but never get a call. If I had been the mayor they would have been on top of me trying to figure out what was wrong. So, she had called early and ordered another shot for pain and at that time she had never laid eyes on me! She then discharged me even though we made here aware that no pharmacy was open to fill the medicine. They gave me a high dose of delaudid(sp?) and sent me home with the worst nausea I've ever had and felt almost as bad leaving as I did going in. This place is awful. It is a the most mismanaged concoction I have ever witnessed. Evidently the "leadership" of the ER is always "ON CALL." Also, since I was able to lie in bed and look up for 8 hours I counted 6 blood splatters on the ceiling. Also, they nurse told me to give a urine sample shortly after being placed in a room. I did and sat it on the counter in the room and notified her. My urine was still sitting, unmarked, when I left the room at 8:30 that night. Also, when the first NP came in she said we are gonna draw some blood and start and IV. I showed her the IV in my arm and pointed to the blood that was already drawn and lying on the counter where my urine was sitting. These people are coming and going and not a single one knows what the other is doing. Would make a great comedy skit. That's Forrest General folks. Have a great day!

Forrest General Hospital er doctor

Dr. Asma Khader is as unconcerned & unprofessional as they could possibly come. I have been fighting double pneumonia, asthma exacerbation & bronchitis for over 2 weeks with a total of 2 admits into the hospital & numerous returns to ER & still having problems with breathing. The dr on duty wanted to admit me once again after some lab work & tests but she said there was no need that it was only anxiety. Should something happen to me, it will be on her hands because everything & everyone shows that my breathing is too shallow & wheezy.

Forrest General Hospital emergency room

Today I arrived at your hospital at 7:30 am with my girlfriend who was in serious pain and losing a lot of blood due to her menstrual cycle. The problem has existed since we been together. So on this morning we came to your facility for the pain she was suffering from. You registered her and took her to your yellow section in the ER which has the dumb rule that you can't accompany a patient if they are over 21. Never in my 62 years of life have I went to a hospital and denied entry to the room of the person I was bringing their. Need I remind you that you say people not accompanying patients to your yellow section speeds up the procedure of getting people waited on faster is a lie. I waited 2 hours or more on my girlfriend and you still hadn't given her anything for pain only took her blood pressure and temperature while admitting her. Your facility is deplorable, ineffective in diagnosis and incrededibly slow when it comes to assisting people in your ER. For this reason I give you no rating of good statue because your service and your doctors suck. Your doctors have caused me to spend over $300.00 on medications that have not done one thing to solve the problem she's experiencing and think you should be fine or your hospital closed until you can adequately provide proper and speedy medical care to the people you keep in your ER for 6, 7and 8 hours at a time. Your facility is lacking in courtesy, compassion and the best medical care that person entering your doors expecting kindness and compassion and professional service which your doctors and nurses practioners seem to lack in a lot of cases. Not only that but a few months ago I came to your ER myself and was misdiagnosed with my glucose level being out of whack when I actually had an access on my liver that your doctors misdiagnosed and could have killed me had I not went to Merit Health and they found the poison in my blood. And as of today I have no faith in your facility or your medical providers in your ER because they are basically ineffective in the job they do.

Forrest General Hospital Safety

My father was a vulnerable adult. He suffered a severe brain injury in 2005 and passed away this past June at Forrest General Hospital. During his last hospital stay at FGH my father informed an officer he was afraid for his life and requested the officer to keep someone out of his room. Risk management informed our family that they were not getting involved and that they were "hoping for the best." As a result of the negligence of risk management my father died and there is currently a pending murder investigation with the MBI (Mississippi Bureau of Investigation). It is my hopes that in the future the risk management team will practice more empathetic responses to the needs of patients as well as the family during their times of need. Human lives are important and in this case "wishing for the best" cost my father his life. While I fully acknowledge that a brain injury can make things more difficult for the hospital- my father's safety and well-being should have been their number one priority! Please consider this situation and how it can be approached better in the future.

Forrest General Hospital over charging

I went to Forrest General Hospital to seek care for a swollen leg that was completly red with fever. I waited in the waiting room for around four hours and was told by the nurses that they were sorry for the long wait that they have misplaced my chart. After the nurses let a bunch of people go ahead of me they found my chart and took me to an examination room. The doctor comes in and only looks down at my leg. The doctor did not ask for any blood test or any cultures. A nurse gives me a shot, hands me my perscription for an antibiotic, and sends me home. Two days later I recieve a bill of over fifteen hundred dollars. I believe the care that I recieved was only worth fifty dollars.

Myelogram was performed in June 2022, I was told what my portion of the bill would be prior to the procedure. My portion was paid via debit card the morning of the procedure. Now they are saying that I owe another $841 beyond what my insurance and I have already paid. I believe there is fraudulent billing going on. A dispute as been filed.
