In November 2024 we were billed over $1,800 for irrigation usage . We had never received a bill that high. I have, through documentation, shown FGUA that this bill was in error because once they replaced the meter the bills went back down to normal. We took video of the old meter as it was running and it is clear that there was something wrong with it. We made no changes to our sprinkler system that would result in a change in the amount of water being used. We believe it is clear that the meter that showed a usage resulting in over $1,800 in usage was broken. Since FGUA replaced the meter, there have not been any bills anywhere near as high as $1,800. I have been trying to get this resolved since last year and have not had anyone take me seriously. They said they bench tested the old meter but when I asked for a detailed explanation as to the results of the test, I have gotten no response for months.
Claimed loss: $1800
Desired outcome: Recovery of the $1800 that was paid due to a broken FGUA meter.
