Firestone Complete Auto Care poor workmanship and customer service

December 2018
I have been a client of this Firestone for over ten years at this location. I am outraged by the poor customer service that I have received in the past two visits. Based on this treatment I will find another place to take my automotive needs.
In December 2018, I brought my vehicle in to have the heater and air conditioning fixed. Rashan Tyson waited on me, he had just replaced Mike as manager (who ran that place like a well oiled machine for years)
I asked that the tires be checked.
I asked that the fluids be replenished.
After getting my car, tires and fluids were not addressed.
The heating never worked properly. It makes a gurgling noise when off and driving. There is a smell of gasoline when it is on.

I brought my car in April 9, 2019, because it was running rough as it had been before. Firestone had already told me that I should consider Catalytic converter in August 2018 when I had it inspected. I asked them to also address:
Re-check heater
The tires and the fluids again.
The electric window switch.
I asked the manager to please call to let me know what they needed to do and price. No call. I called several times during that day and spoke with David and was told there was nothing found on diagnostic.
I called again, about 4:30 and was told by David it was the Catalytic converter. (which had already been suggested) I asked about the heater and told that was okay. They gave me a price for the window switch, I declined that for the time being. I told them to proceed with the converter. They needed another day.
The next day, I never received a call from Firestone during the day with updates or price. I called several times for updates, spoke with David, nothing yet. Called at 4:45 on April 10, 2019 and was told that they were working on it, to come in and it would be done before 6 PM. I came in at 5:25 PM and waited in the showroom, spoke with Rashan about 6:30 PM, he told me it was almost ready. He left for the evening. I waited until 7:45 when I was told by LaVarr Sanders that the part that they had put in was defective and an extra part that they had called for at 7 PM was not the right part either. I was visibly upset. Lavarr asked one of the employees to drive me home. It was 8 PM.
They would need to keep the vehicle another day, to order the new converter. He promised me that Rashan would call me on Thursday 4/11 by 10 AM to let me know what was going on. Rashan never called. I called at 10:30. LaVar told me the part was ordered and on its way. That someone would call me by noon to let me know it had arrived and they were working on it.
I called again at 12:30, Rashan answered the phone, he had no words of apology or explaination anout the prior night and what he had assured me of . He just put me on hold, came back and told me that he spoke with LaVarr and the part had arrived, that someone was working on it, and that it would be completed today. That I would receive a call to let me know it was completed and the price.
I received a call from LaVarr at 1:30 to tell me the part has been installed. That the manager would drive it around to see if it runs properly. He said he would call when it was okay to pick up.
I called at 3 PM to ask if the car was ready. I was told that the car was still being driven to see about the ride and the heater making noise when off and the smell of gasoline when on. I reminded them about the fluids and the tires. I was told they would call back.
LaVar called me at 3:30 PM. He said everything was completed.
i arrived at the business. My car was pulled up. The fluids had been addressed. The heater is still not working properly. The tires had not been done. They did it when they pulled the car up.

LaVarr was the only person who was communicative and helpful from 5:30 Wednesday night through 4 PM Thursday afternoon when I picked up the vehicle.

Firestone Complete Auto Care had to get an lug nut off tire

I went to one of your locations last Saturday, to see if they could get a lug nut off my tire that was on to tight. The guy stated it would be a couple hours I really didn't have the time because I had to get my daughter. So I asked my sister to get my daughter while getting my tire looked at. Once the service was done. They pulled my vehicle around and I got in my vehicle and left. Not thinking I needed to check to make sure everything was right. I get to drive down the street (burton) and my hood come up. The scariest thing I had to deal with so I jump the scrub and put it down. I was so angry I called and told the manager. He asked was everything broken I said I don't know. He wanted me to bring my vehicle back so I couldn't the same day, the next day his assistant called and told me the store manger wouldn't be in. I could still bring it in. I think for my inconvenience they should of went the extra mile. Now I will think twice before bring my vehicle there again. Not a happy customer at all.

Firestone Complete Auto Care improper service and replacements

I have visited your service center on Oct 7th and found that my car's engine was damaged and got it replaced with you. During the same visit I was informed about the damage in transmission system. So got both my engine and transmission system was replaced with a warranty of 1 year from Firestone.
again on Apr 7th I came for a general oil check and had my car's wheel alignment done from you. On Apr 8th I traveled from Richmond to Washington D.C. On reaching, I just found the transmission fluid pouring out of my car and got drained off. I had to tow it all the way from Washington back to Richmond. After spending so much, I m not even able to travel a 100 miles distance peacefully. I was so frustrated that day and was not able to cover the actual reason for my travel. I m totally disappointed with the work you've done!
What compensation is firestone is going to give us for the stress that we have undergone ?

Refer the invoice number : 258536 and 251302 for more details of the work done and price.

Firestone Complete Auto Care oil change

I visited your Morrow, GA store for a regular oil change, passing the local store in Forest Park, GA because they always seem to break my lug nuts on my 2008 Sonata. I arrived at the store @ 8:03am and was told that there were two (2) oil changes ahead of me. I brought in a coupon that was sent to me since I have a account and asked that my tires be rotated. After waiting for over two (2) hours I was to told that they did not have the oil filter for my vehicle and to be patient it would arrive in about 20 minutes. When the oil filter arrived I asked if the technician could please finish and get me on the road. The manager said yes. Little did I know that the tires had not been rotated while I waited for the filter and I did not leave until 11:15am.
Over 3hrs I waited to get said oil change. Even with the coupon I paid $55.03
I complained but the attitudes were unconcerned and lethargic.
This oil change should be at no charge! I am requesting at the very least a coupon for my next one.

Firestone Complete Auto Care tires

Bought a new set of Firestone tires for my 06 Toyota Sienna last April. They are 65000 mile tires. It has been a year now and only 24000 miles and the tires are shot. They refused to plug one due to not enough thread and tried to sell me another set. Why would I buy another set of junk tires? If I wanted to replace tires every year I would have bought the cheapest tire available. When we bought the tires we also purchased the road Hazzard, lifetime alignment, and oil change. The oil has been changed every 5000 miles along with supposedly a rotation and alignment check. Either someone is not doing what's on the ticket or there is a problem with the tire compound or a manufacturer defect. I should not have to pay for anything to do with tires in only a year. If I have to buy more tires it WILL NOT BE FROM FIRESTONE! This problem needs to be addressed NOW I have a 2 year old granddaughter riding in this van along with my daughter. If I have to buy more tires it will be from somewhere else.

Firestone Complete Auto Care general service issue

Last summer I was looking for tires and an alignment for a freightliner sprinter cargo van 3500 model. The front tires wore out prematurely due to an alignment issue. A made local inquiries, giving the year, make, model, etc details to each possible service company. Firestone told me that they could supply, balance, and install the tires and perform an alignment and complete the work the same day and they quoted a price.. I dropped off the truck, they contacted later and told me it was done. I picked it up, paid by check. Later in the day after looking over the invoice and wondered if they had really done the alignment. I phone the business and the mgr. Told me that the alignment had not been done. He told me he would refund the amount paid for the alignment. After a week or so I did get a refund. It turned out to be a refund for the wheel balancing. They told me that the truck and the wheels did not fit their equipment and that they could not perform those services. They also claimed that I had declined the alignment. I contend that they were deceptive, manipulative, and lied. I know what I ordered. Why would I purchase new tires if they could not balance the wheels. Why would I install new tires on a vehicle that badly needed an alignment. Then 30 days later I found that they had cashed our check twice. I called the store and I called the corp. Headquarters and both told me that they would refund quickly. More than 30 days later still no refund from the company. I called my bank and pointed our the issue and complained that the bank should not have processed a payment twice (same date, same check #, same amount). The bank credited my account within a week or so for the amount due us. Not sure how they did it. They probably took the money back from firestone. Then... With $60k in our checking account we tried to purchase $2.09 item at home depot. The store would not accept our check. The used telechex to process check payments. Apparently telechex was notified by firestone that we owed firestone the $524.71. They really wanted the double payment. Telechex did not do their homework. Then my brother spent 1.5 hrs. At home depot shopping and when he tried to pay by check the check was again denied by home depot. Phone calls to telechex resulted only in their telling us to fill out a four page form and they would try to repair the situation. I told them to do their job correctly and I was not filling out their forms. Then we opened some mail and it was a collection company looking the collect the same amount ($524.71) for firestone. 15 min. Listening to their menu and them only wanting me to pay... I hung up. Two days later they called me (I had left a message) and want to collect payment. They listened to my story and they did not care. They only wanted payment. I told them to sue me immediately and I hoped they would really mess up our credit. Never heard from them again. Negligence and incompetance everywhere every step of the way. I decided to take them all the small claims court. Poorly trained employees, weak or worse research on the issue, pathetic customer service, deceptive business practices, no real regard for the customer or the customer's wishes. A real example the the direction this country is going as a whole. My anscesters would be appalled at the way the country is going after all they did to create and build it up. The last 20 years this country has declined very much. Declining work ethic, no sense of personal responsibility, less ability to focus on tasks at hand, everyone looking for handouts, less common courtesy and civility.

Firestone Complete Auto Care service

I scheduled an appointment for 3/13/19 and I asked for my brakes to be checked, an alignment, a full vehicle inspection, oil change, etc. I was told my brakes just needed to be cleaned, I didn't need an alignment and that I needed a new rim. $1200 and my vehicle would be fixed. A week later the squeaking of my brakes continued so I scheduled another appointment and brought my vehicle back in. First of all, appointments don't mean anything to them, they get to you when they feel like it. Once they got to my vehicle, they came back and told me that now my brakes needed to be replaced, I need an alignment suddenly my ball joints replaced. Another $1700 to fix my vehicle. When asked why this wasn't found last week when I first brought it in they danced around the question. My car isn't even worth $3k but apparently that's what I'm in for now!

Firestone Complete Auto Care overpricing labor and material

3/6/19 ball joint replacement 2003 chevy silverado, was charged $1, 400.00. $985.00 for three hours labor? Really? This invoice was financed with firestone, I knew they were ripping me off, from out of town here on business. Called two different mechanics from back home and they both told me the job should cost about $550.00. They are going to have a hard time getting paid.

Firestone Complete Auto Care Repair caused damage

I am writing to advise you of problems with a repair job you performed on my car, and to seek reimbursement and compensation. Your records will show that I have been a long-time customer of Firestone Encino Store # 015636 and, up to now, have been very satisfied with both how Firestone has cared for my vehicle as well as the customer service I have received. My most recent experience, however, leaves much to be desired, and has cost me thousands of dollars for which Firestone is responsible.

On October 30, 2017, you performed maintenance on my 2009 Honda Pilot. Among other things, you removed and replaced the timing belt with a complete timing belt kit. (A copy of the October 30 2017 invoice is included.)
Just over one year later, I brought my Honda Pilot back to the same Firestone Encino location because I heard a noise emanating from the engine. I described the noise as a rotational "clanking" that sped up as the car went faster. Your manager Daniel told me that the noise was in the engine but they could not diagnose the cause or fix it. When I pressed him for more details, his explanations did not make sense. It sounded to me like he either did not know what the issue was because he had not fully communicated with the repair person who actually worked on my car, or did not care enough to explain the problem to me. He told me to take it to an "engine" shop. (A copy of the December 21, 2018 invoice is included.)

Dissatisfied with Firestone's handling of the noise, I went to a Honda service dealer with the same complaint about the engine noise. The Honda mechanic was able to diagnose the problem: when Firestone replaced the timing belt in October 2017, you failed to properly install the timing belt tensioner (part of the timing belt kit) causing the timing belt to loosen. The timing belt and tensioner had to be replaced again, just over one year after Firestone had installed the same part. This cost $1, 547.47. (A copy of Honda invoice 93489 is included.) Because Firestone improperly installed the previous timing belt kit, causing me to incur this expense to correct Firestone's mistake, I request Firestone reimburse me $1, 547.47.
In addition, Firestone's failure to properly install the timing belt kit resulted in damage to the camshaft. (Copies of photographs of the damaged camshaft and Honda invoice 94339 are included.) Because Firestone's improper installation of the timing belt kit caused damage to the camshaft, I request Firestone either (a) repair the camshaft at no cost or (b) reimburse me for the full cost of repairing the camshaft.

I understand that Firestone's stock invoice states that parts and labor are covered by warranty for only one year. As I mentioned at the outset of the letter, I have been a loyal and happy customer of Firestone in Encino for over 7 years. I hope Firestone cares about its customers and does not hide behind this one year limit, especially given that your repair failed a mere 14 months after it was performed, and that failure caused additional and more serious damage to my car. I also gave Firestone the opportunity to find and fix this mistake, and only when they failed to do so, did I get it fixed at a different repair shop. I look forward to continuing our customer relationship, but only after Firestone addresses the harm it did to my vehicle. Please consider this offer to resolve this matter informally without the need for more formal legal process.

Thank you for your consideration of this matter. If you have any questions, or if you need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me via email at [protected]@hotmail.com or by phone at [protected]. I look forward to hearing from you.

Firestone Complete Auto Care Vehicle repair

Case #2340742

I have been taking my cars and trucks to Firestone for years, after recommended service, time to replace all belts and hoses, had the oil changed and tires rotated, purchased a life time alignment and balance service. I noticed my heater wasn't warming up, I took it back they said they would check it out, charged me for an inspection and kept my car for two days initially, they said it looked good and that I was low on coolant, I told them it had reached overheat at one point and did they check the thermostat, they said yes. Upon picking up the vehicle it still wasn't heating up, I went back they said it takes awhile to warm up. After awhile having the vehicle overheat twice I took it to Christian Brothers and after 20 min received a call from them and an email W/video showing the hoses were not put on properly and the radiator is cracked on the top and bottom along with the thermostat not working, they said it will cost 1100 to 1500 to repair this problem, where do I post the negative review, I've spent quite a bit at this location but think now I have been taken advantage of.

Firestone Complete Auto Care won't stand behind bad alternator they installed in my son's truck

My son had an alternator and battery replaced at this Firestone on September 28th. Less than 4 months later (Jan 17, 2019) the alternator had to be replaced again. The alternator installed by Firestone was defective. My son broke down in another town and had to get it replaced right away to get back on the road. Firestone won't make good on the bad alternator because he didn't come back for them to replace it. After store manager said there was nothing he could do, I was put in contact with Area Manager. He said there was nothing they could do since they wouldn't be able to return the bad alternator to their supplier. But, I have the bad alternator to give them so they can return it to their supplier..."oh, well there is still nothing we can do". I then asked the area manager to provide me with the contact information of a higher level individual at Firestone so that I could escalate the issue and get a resolution. Well, been trying to get that contact information for 18 days now and the area manager simply says "it won't do any good to contact others because it will always come back to me". When I contacted Firestone customer service asking for higher level individuals with more authority, they respond by saying "regional mgr will contact you", then "divisional manager will contact you". Of course, none of them ever do. Not only would I recommend you not use this Austin, TX Firestone, I would suggest you don't use any Firestone. They installed a bad part and won't make it right.

Area manager did contact me again to offer coupons for a future visit. What a joke. It is obvious that Firestone will not stand behind its work. I hope they are happy they were able to rip off a college student. Hopefully, I will be able to educate enough other people on the Firestone business practices so others are not taken. Luckily, there are enough other auto service options. Good job Firestone, you should be very proud.

Firestone Complete Auto Care a road side plan was purchased and additional cost were stated to get repairs performed. I consider this to be unethical and deceitful

Tires were purchased from the above-listed store and upon returning to have one repaired I was told it could not be done without possible additional cost. I express my displeasure not only because after paying for the insurance, but I was also asked to bring my vehicle back for the possible repair in three days. The reason for the delay is that the technician doing the work was concern that the studs on the wheel might break and that replacement studs had to be purchased as a precaution. When asked if this would result in additional cost to me, I was told that it would. I was told the reason for the cost is that when the lug nuts swell they often become to tight to get off without putting stress on the studs.

I am sure the intent is to make the repair without incurring additional damages, however, this is why we pay for the roadside coverage. This situation has bought to light other shoddy workmanship. We were forced to use our other vehicle only to find that when one of the wheels was put back on the vehicle after having work done at the same store, a nut was put on backward. I bought the car in today and the nut was taken off and a new one was ordered. My wife and daughters have been using this store for the last ten years and only recently have we been faced with less than stellar work.

We are asking that the needed repairs be made without our having to incur other costs. Please consider this as a formal request of the corporate office. due to the need to use both of our vehicles for work, we ask that you consider this priority. We await your reply.

Firestone Complete Auto Care property repairs/holes

I took my car to Firestone on Kansas Avenue in Kansas city, Ks today to get new tires. I realize my car is old (2006 Mazda), but I do my best to maintain it as I can. Yesterday was a nice weather day in KC, so I spent a few hours cleaning it out and washing it. I know that with our expected forecast of more snow this week, it will not stay clean long. To day when I picked the car up from getting the new tires, there was mud splattered all over the sides of the car, on the side mirrors and on the side windows. My new tires were caked in mud. I went back inside and stated that I was very dissatisfied with mud all over it as I had just washed it. The employee was very courteous and said that they have asked Firestone to repair all the potholes along the building, but nothing has been done. He offered to reimburse me for a car wash if I brought in a receipt. I am not blaming the employees as I could see see all the holes along the side of the building and in back. I came home as washed it again as the line at the car wash near my home was quite long since it is a nice day, and right now those are far and few between. I realize this may mean nothing to you and you may not think a little mud is a big deal, but I am irritated that after I just spent $500+ to day and $500+ a week ago (on getting new tires on our truck), that I have to come home and rewash my car, which looked worse today than before I washed it yesterday. Maybe someone at the corporate headquarters should look into some repairs on the grounds around this building so other customers won't have this same issue. I attached just a few pics.

Firestone Complete Auto Care service at listed location.

I am complaining about work done on my serpentine belt after you Northfield, New Jersey store on Tilton Road.

This pertains to the constant replacement and dislodging of my serpentine belt.

The first time my car had to be towed to that store was because the serpentine belt fell off when I drove it after a storm. The engine was impacted with snow and I did not know that. The repair was made and I was satisfied. I paid for it at that time. The same problem has occurred three more times. Without any snow or weather issues.

The second time the serpentine belt came off, I was on my way home crossing the small Bridge into the town of Brigantine where I live. I took the car back to the same store in Northfield and I was told that the wrong size bolts were used during the first repair.

The third time this occurred, I was driving into Ocean City and the serpentine belt fell off again and it affected my work schedule. I'm a delivery driver for Domino's Pizza in Ocean City New Jersey. The car was towed again to the same store as I assumed it was the same problem. It was repaired without charge both of those times and I continue to drive it. This third time most likely occurred in late October or early November of 2018.

Hoping that the issue was resolved, I was able to drive regularly without issue until yesterday, January 24th 2019. After having only driven a little over two hours, the car resting for 12 hours, I drove it two miles or less, and the same issue occurred. I felt a sluggishness in the steering, I pulled into the local Wawa and discovered the serpentine belt was off the pulleys again. I had to contact work to tell them I would not be in the following day.

I contacted the staff at the same location store in Northfield New Jersey and was in route when I was unable to drive there and pulled in to get another Wawa where the car had to be towed back to the Northfield Firestone location.

So, this is the third time the same problem happened and I'm wondering why. Two times I had to rent vehicles, including yesterday the 24th. I also was unable to work in my capacity as a delivery driver for Domino's in Ocean City New Jersey and lost over $150 in income. On top of which I had to rent a car as well. New paragraphs the work is being attended to as of this writing. However, I have had two incur expenses listed above and I am deeply disappointed in the service at this location.

Through the years, I have gone to various firestone's in several States and have been satisfied with service at the locations. In fact, I have been to this location in Northfield several times and prior to this serpentine belt incident, I was satisfied with the work performed. However this series of same issues occurring has caused me concern, lost income, and has made me question whether I will continue being a patron of this particular store.

I am seeking additional compensation for wages lost, and other expenses incurred. I'm filing this complaint hoping someone will contact me and offer me some type of compensation based on inconvenience and Shawty workmanship, or parts used. I would appreciate being compensated a gift certificate of about $200 or more if possible.

I look forward to receiving a response.

Disheartened customer, Charles Mazzarella, Army veteran of the Iraq War.

Firestone Complete Auto Care broken car parts

Firestone proformed an old change on my car in November 2018. I took my car to the mechanic on Monday 21, Jan 2019 because I was having engine trouble. Upon removing the engine cover we discovered that both clamps holding it down were broken. The last time the engine cover was removed was from Firestone for the old change. They failed to tell me that they broke it. When I contacted the Firestone manager he give the reason it broke was because my car had high mileage.

If does not give Firestone the right to brake something even if it was by accident and not inform the customer; regardless of miles I have on my car.

This is a lack of professionalism and I will no longer have any of my cars serviced at Firestone from this point on.

My name is Denise Armstrongand my contract number is [protected].
Thank you

Firestone Complete Auto Care firestone wall township new jersey

I took my Chevy Suburban in for an oil change and a tire rotation on 10/23/18. I was given an estimate for $569 to remove and replace wheel bearings on my front right side. I declined to have Firestone do the repair. I then took my Suburban to the Seacoast Chevrolet dealer on 12/5/18 and informed them that I may need my front right bearings removed and replaced. The mechanic inspected my vehicle and found nothing wrong with my front right wheel bearings. I wanted to attach a copy of the Firestone work order 215895 and Chevrolet's invoice 442506. I'm looking for a favorable response, so I won't have to post this experience on their website or social media. Thank you for your time and understanding regarding this issue.

Firestone Complete Auto Care sloppy incompetent work while repairing cv axle on my vehicle

To whom it may concern,
I am angry but mostly sad because I thought I was dealing with professionals at store # 650242 at 5925 albemarle rd.in charlotte nc. I thought I had found a place to take my car for service for the rest of my life.
I have spent money at firestone for various services in the past and I thought loyalty to the shop ensured that my vehicle would be serviced correctly every time. However, my visit to the shop for repairs on 11/28/18 proved to be different.
I was told I needed the cv axle repaired ($900). When I left that day, I was ensured by roy, service manager, that everything was good. I decided to take my vehicle to a ford dealership for my next problem-struts. During my visit to ford, I was informed by their service advisor that whoever repaired my cv axle did a sloppy job and busted a part of the axle while repairing it. Now I have to pay ford an extra $300 to repair what firestone messed up. The ford service advisor listed it as r/f lower control arm 2.0 on my service ticket. I would like a refund from firestone for $300 in order to get my repair done correctly this time. Please advise me as to how I may obtain a refund. I may be reached at [protected]. Thanks, harriet ivey.

Firestone Complete Auto Care alternator and belt

I called my regular toyota service center how much a replacement alternator would be after my "trusted" firestone said the noise my car made was from that. They said the oe part was $373. And the belt was $36. With their labor, they said it may be upward of $600 +. So I called firestone to ask what kind of alternator they would use and from where they would get it. They said it was a duralast gold from auto zone. Stupidly, I made the assumption that firestone would be cheaper than toyota. I went online and looked up the part. The alternator was $159. Brand new. Once firestone was done with the job, while it was a bit less than toyota might have cost but they charged me $424 for the alternator and $43 bucks for the belt. Plus labor! The invoice showed that it took.7 hours. Plus, they gave me a "discount" which after all, ended up at $35. Big deal... Turns out the alternator from auto zone was $224. If I were to buy it myself. Firestone marked it up by $200! And the belt was marked up by $20! All in all, the place I trusted to do my tires, brakes, and alignments, was completely unfair and took advantage of me. I feel really dumb. Then the girl who worked there hearing my complaints came over and tried to tell me how great their warrantee was..2 years parts and labor. I highly doubt I will repeat driving 12 years of driving (77k miles) in 2 years. Big deal... Again. You just cant trust anyone any more. The dealer, while doing the right thing, always lies to try to upsell you.. I was being convinced I needed new struts after 40k miles. I didn't do it and still don't need them. Its not like im off-roading in a solara convertible. So i've learned who to be really nice to... Your doctors, the guy who makes your chinese food, and mechanics!

My complaint (below)

Time line:

08/26:
• Left Jeep Patriot in the am. Was informed later in the day they could not get in that day. Left it overnight.
08/27:
• Got call at the end of the day. Tech stated alignment could not be done due to ball joints. They needed another tech to look at. I did not do an inspection myself but took Tech at his word
09/01:
• Car dropped off. Tech confirmed ball joints needed to be replaced before alignment. Quote for parts and labor 292.58. Decided to do myself. Right and Left control arms/Ball Joints parts 110.00. While installing, realized ball joints were in fact good. Did not think much of it.
11/12
• Went online to scheduled appointment for 2 new ties and alignment. Appointment was for 8am. I ended up dropping it off at 5am and used a different vehicle. Secretary called at 1pm to verify progress. She was informed it hasn't been worked on due to the key not being in the correct location in the drop box? (I was informed in my later call that this was my fault?) She was informed the records from the previous visit noted the ball joints and tie rod ends needed to be fixed before the alignment could be performed but that the tires would be put on before the end of the day.

I decided to call myself so I could better understand the situation. Tech informed me the Tie Rods needed to be replaced. I told him it was recommended, but was not the reason they rejected service on the alignment (verified via invoices). Tech then informed me I needed different tires due to size mismatch. Despite the price difference, bad weather was coming and I needed tires and alignment so I agreed to the tires.

11/13/18
• Our first major snowfall occurred the previous day. Drove slow on the highway into work due to possible ice on the roads. Jeep was still all over the place. I figured it was due to road conditions. Left the office at 4ish. While on highway 64 the Jeep was again all over the place and I almost hit another driver. The roads were in excellent condition at this point and no reduction in highway speed was needed. I pulled over to do a visual inspection of my Jeep. Nothing looked out of place or any tire issues.

I called Firestone and was informed the alignment was not done. I asked why, and why I was not informed. The only reason I bought the more expensive tires was due to needing them for the alignment. I was informed it was again the tie rods. In a calm but stern voice, I informed the Tech of my dissatisfaction with my service. I also brought up the ball joint which Firestone wanted to charge me 292.58 were not bad and could have easily went another 10k miles. The response from the tech was, "oh." The Tech put me on hold. When he came back he informed me the issue with the Tie Rods was actually a loose nut on the ball stud (driver side). I asked why it was not tightened (takes 2 seconds to do). The Tech told me they were not authorized to do so?

Being disturbed that Firestone wanted to charge me for both Ball Joints and Tie Rod ends that in fact were not bad (parts and labor = 615.76), I asked for the corporate number so I could file a complaint. The Tech told me he did not know. He said it's on the back of my invoices.

I called the Corporate Office and talked to Megan, case# 2336682. She was very nice and helpful, if I get a survey she will get high marks. I told her what had happened which after our conversation she summarized. I was told this would be sent right up the district manager.

I jacked up the Jeep in my garage and tightened the bolt. It was only 2 thread marks from the other one.

Went online to schedule appointment. Confirmation was received and my Jeep will be dropped off in the morning.

11/14/18

• The Jeep was worked on in the A.M. They were called by my girlfriend to let them know to put the keys in the Jeep since I would not be there before close.

The invoice said the alignment was done, but was off a bit due to a shifted Sub Frame. Also it stated the right inner Tie Rod is slightly bent. I have not jacked up the Jeep to verify. It is a very uneasy feeling when every time they touch the vehicle, something else needs to be done.

11/15/18

• I called the corporate number back to follow up about my complaint (#2336682). I talked to I believe Casey, she was nice. She told me I should have received a call. She said she would escalate it, but it will be another 24 to 48 hours for a response. I told her I typed up the incident and would like to send it in for review for the call. She informed me she did not have that information. I told her it wasn't a big deal; I can send it in once I talk to someone.

I called the Jeep dealership to set up an appointment to look over Jeep. After my experience, I have a strange feeling someone might have done something to retaliate. Talked to David. I told him the experience I had with Firestone. He responds, "that's Firestone for you." That statement makes me think this is not uncommon. I will drop it off Friday 11/30/18.

11/18/18

Another 48 hours has passed. I am now filling the complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Course of action:
1. Corporate call 11/13/18- No call back as stated.
2. Corporate call 11/15/18- No call back as stated.
3. File complaint with BBB-In process.
4. File complaint with Missouri Attorney General- N/A as of right now.
