Find A Grave Management of a memorial

I have twice appealed to your organization for help in having a memorial turned over to me.

The memorial no. [protected] for Bob Dean Browning was set-up with bare minimums by a TM Miller. I've tried more than once to have him turn over management to me, with no response. I was very close friend to Bob and his wife Lynn. She also has appealed to this person with no response.

We have submitted several edits for missing information and none have been posted. There remains today only the year of death.

My FSG ID is 4868437

Desired outcome: Be able to manage this memorail with the respect it deserves.

I assume FSG is a TYPO. She meant [censored] for Find A Grave ID.

Find A Grave The website

This place is definitely in the business to make money. They likely get paid large sums to put death data up for the many false flag attacks around the world. For example they are the only source posting the death data for the vast majority like 98% of "victims" of 9/11 as well as 98% of death data for "victims" of sandy hook. This place is working with some really bad actors, that have worked to undermine our society and trick the people of the world.

Joey, do you know there are hundreds and hundreds of websites that list cemetery transcriptions? Those are usually specific to a location. Find A Grave is just a database of ALL cemeteries worldwide as well as non-burial dispositions (like cremation, donated to science, buried at sea, etc.). One should understand what a site is and what its purpose is (and yes, where the information comes from and even how they make money) before one complains about it.

I have my own issues w the site, but this isn’t one of them. For some legitimate reasons, people are allowed to use death lists, from cemeteries, organizations, newspapers, etc without listing pics, where they are buried or much other info, so kinda can’t blame the site.

Find A Grave Grandmother's memorial denies her birth mother

Findagrave.com Memorial ID # [protected].

My name is Jeffrey Dean, son of James Warren Dean, Son of Bertha and Hugh Dean. This memorial lists in the bio that my Great Grandmother Julia Ingold is NOT my Grandmother's birth mother and names some other woman. It lies and says Julia Ingold is listed as "step mother" on Bertha's marriage license.

I have tried to get this person (who is not a blood relation) to correct this error and she became belligerent. I then requested she turn management control over to me (user terms there require a non relative to turn management over to a direct relative when requested). The person then created a BOGUS account under my cousin Mike Davey's name and transferred management of all her accounts to that bogus account.

I contacted Findagrave.com 3 times about this and was IGNORED!

I have the proof that Julia Ingold is listed as MOTHER on my Grandmother and Grandfather's marriage license.

The person, in the bio of my Grandmother, references a home town newspaper where supposedly my Great Grandfather Clifton admitted that Bertha's real mother was not Julia. I was IN THE ROOM in 1976 during that interview. My Grandmother and her daughter Leola both ran to their rooms and cried. Later I asked why and was told "because his mind is slipping."

When I explained this to the person controlling the bio, she added a blurb in the bio disputing these facts (even though she wasn't even there) and calling me a liar saying "he was 100 years old and still sharp as a tack" even though she hardly KNEW the man. (I don't recall ever seeing her in the same room with my Great Grandfather Ross and she was NOT at his funeral).

I'm as livid as I can be. I cannot link my ancestors to this memorial because it's wrong and I cannot link to my Great Grandfather either because the same woman controls that memorial as well. A complete stranger to the family who, may have been at one time married to my cousin Mike but no one knows if she still is, because she's been estranged from the family for 4 decades!

Desired outcome: I NEED MANAGEMENT CONTROL OF ALL OF THE USER BETTY AND USER MAD MIKEY'S MEMORIALS THAT ARE IN MY BIOLOGICAL LINE!

Your Great Grandfather is your direct ancestor. By Find A Grave rules, you are able to request Management of the memorial profile. If it has not been relinquished to you within 30 days, write to: support@findagrave.com

Include the request you made. You should have received it in your email when the day you made the request. Explain that you have not been granted Management of your Great Grandfather's memorial and that you requested it on such and such a date. Ask Find A Grave to help you get management. They have helped me several times. I hope you get the help you desire.

I often wonder if some of these long time members are in place not just as contributors, but as moderators under the guise of Support. I’ve had [censored] admins go in and change my memorials unannounced. They did it ea time behind my back because the changes went against stated [censored] guidelines. Those old timers controlling over 100, 000 memorials not only seem to group together against volunteers they choose to smoat, they know every underhanded way to do it, ruling [censored] against all reason and stated guidelines, just going by their own preferences. [censored] needs to overhaul their system, it’s become completely corrupted by some controlling, unreasonable, not very nice people.

Find A Grave Stalking on find a grave

Stop treating me with hatred and vengeance and stop stalking me. I have been using find a grave for years along with other free sites but I have never dealt with a company that stalked old customers to make sure they were never allowed to use a free service again once removed. I have been stalked and removed excessively on a number of occasions over the past three years. No person removed for any reason should be removed for life as if to say no one learns from their experiences.

Desired outcome: Stop stalking me

Find A Grave Website photo

One day I came across findagrave.com and was pleasantly surprised to see that my husband's grave was already there. I emailed the graver to think him for listed my husband and also asked him how can I block anyone from posting inappropriate pictures. He told me to contact findagrave.com for help.

My husband's ex wife also found the site and added inappropriate picture. She did the same thing on the funeral home's website and at legacy.com. I contacted them and they deleted the pictures and blocked any new photos from being added. So, being that I am the wife I contacted findagrave.com to request the same thien. The inappropriate pictures are still there. So, on this day, I requested that the memorial be removed. My next step is to seek legal action because that manipulative women is not going to continue to do this to my husband and to me.

I am feeling extremely disrespected by findagrave.com, which is surprising because it was developed for families with is a very respectful plight.

If I was made manager then I would allow the ex to post pictures that she likes that are of my husband only, but this person is... Ummmm... Different.

Very frustrated Army Wife.

Even if you get management, you will not be able to control photos that others post as that is not something any memorial manager can do. Any member can add a photo to any memorial because it is a collaborative website.

He's your hubby, right? You can request that the person who now manages it turns over management to you since you are his wife. That is Findagraves policy. Then YOU will be the one managing what does and doesn't get posted.

Find A Grave A grave memorial

I have reached out to deb mcallister a few times several years ago to remove virgina ruth strauch senofskys grave memorial.
I can't even begin to tell you what a nightmare this horrible person has been to our family. Deb mcallister must support and approve of child abusers because she refuses to remove it. Today as my family and I our researching our family name here that horrible person pops up again so, we left this message on her memorial. "virginia is a child abuser, violent alcoholic, liar, and thief as she was fired for stealing drugs. Virginia was a disgrace to the military. Deb mcallister made sure it was removed. This horrible person married into the senofsky family and she has tainted our family name.
Please remove this person from your website or. Allow the comments to remain. Does deb mcallister not realize the pain she inflicts on keeping that disgusting memorial. Maybe she needs to research before allowing these types of horrible people to have a public memorial page. Disgusted again!
Thank-you,

I know where you r coming from. A Megan Heyl booted me off my parents, grandparents and infant son's memorial. The 1st thing Megan Heyl did after taking over the site was post info she had swiped from the net - family divorces, ex spouses and unwed children. Since that time I have tried getting this woman censored with no luck, In fact FindAGrave has banned me and claims they will call the police if I "harrass" Megan Heyl one more time concerning this matter. Do I give a rat's [censored]? NO. I am seventy five years old and nothing gets to me anymore. As for FindAGrave - It is an abomination where the Mormon Church lures unsuspecting bereaved people in the door under the guise of creating a memorial. Once the memorial is created you are booted out the door and replaced by one of FindAGrave's dysfunctional contributors. From there your info is cataloged and sent off to the mother church where Mormons rebaptism the dead into the Mormon faith by implementing some strange ritual. The whole thing is sick. But there is little you can do about it. Probably for your own sanity u should be thankful that you have been spared the trauma of even coming in contact with these twisted minds.

Find A Grave C. M. Davis (ID# 49136234) Request Denial to Transfer Ollie Pauline Davis (Hyde), memorial ID# 100909666

I respectfully most find some means to appeal Find A Grave unsigned and unnamed form denial letter based on non-typical issues not provided for under the [censored] guidelines as stated within my attached communications both to the current manager as well as [censored] support prior to this date.

My 1st email to [protected]@findagrave.com
Wednesday, September 16, 2020, 09:47 PM

To Whom it may Concern:

I hereby am requesting your review associated with my request to have Ollie Pauline Davis (Hyde), memorial ID# 100909666 transferred to my account and being my direct line, great aunt. It should be noted, this request occurred after I purchased a grave marker for memorial ID# 100909666, as previously her grave was without.

Please read the messages surrounding the denial. The real issue is, having received the written denial, I made an appeal. Ms. Fleming, the contributor chose not to respond to this written plea in which I requested the cause for the rejection. Accordingly, she did not afford me the benefit of any reason or cause for your rejection nor allowing me the opportunity of a further explanation for my request under the Find A Grave guidelines. Without her responding, I was forced to regrettably place a deadline notice for her making this transfer. As of this date, she has not made such a transfer for unknown reasons?

Find A Grave is an incredible tool for genealogists like me. It provides information that we might not have access to otherwise. However, some contributors lose sight of the fact that those memorials are for real people and aren't just numbers on their profile page. FindAGrave is designed to give family members within four generations, an opportunity to create the memorials for their loved ones and also remove the competition of how many memorials I have in my account that seem to drive some. I want to be clear. Not everyone who has created a large number of memorials is in it for the numbers. There are some incredibly dedicated — and prolific! — volunteers.

I thank you for your assistance in this matter., Hopefully she was just having a bad day!
CM Davis ID 49136234

My 2nd email to support Thu 9/17/2020 4:33 PM
I neglected to attach the documentation for my purchasing a grave stone for my aunt, who was without children and in an unmarked grave. Further, I must point out I am a paid sponsor, not just of her memorial listing on [censored], but all my family memorials.

I suggest Ms. Fleming and a sizeable number of [censored] members need to look up and read what a guideline is. What it is NOT is a Supreme Court ruling or a constitutional amendment. It is NOT a law or regulation in any way, shape, or form. It is a GUIDE line. A suggested parameter. A basic idea, which is now under review by [censored], for modifications. It is NOT a hard and fast restriction on the only form a relationship must exist to allow for a transfer of memorial management. Far too many of [censored]'s top "collectors or numbers fanatics" members are only after larger numbers, and they are not about to give up management of a memorial, no matter what! To further protect themselves, they just ignore any addition future communications. This is not reasonable nor proper in any circumstances. Had she done so, she would have been provided my appeal materials.

May I suggest as Ms. Fleming chooses to not respond to my non-treating and sincere appeal contained within the second message, and having no relationship to the person in question not to speak of any monetary vested, she should forfeit her rights under [censored] Guidelines, to withhold any such transfer.

I thank you for your review of this untypical set of facts and events,
C M Davis #49136234

On this date I received the following:

Subject: C.M. Davis (ID# 49136234) Request Denial to Transfer Ollie Pauline Davis (Hyde), memorial ID# 100909666

Hello C.M.,

Thank you for contacting Find a Grave in regard to caring for a memorial page.

At this time we are unable to fulfill your request because it is outside of the transfer guidelines, and the current manager of the memorial page is an active member on the site. We understand you have already tried to contact the manager without a response.

Please note you are always able to add any information to the memorial page by using the "edit" button. You can also add a memorial to a personal virtual cemetery.

In summary, the present person handling my great aunt's memorial is managing in excess of 63, 923 memorials. I have just family members that totals less than 20. I don't "own" those memorials that I add to Find A Grave. If any family member requests transfer, I gladly do it. However, if I'm related to someone that I have added, the person requesting transfer will need to be a more direct/closer relation than myself.
If any one person who actually did respect the person of a memorial, you would think they MUST relinquish a memorial to any relative under those same conditions. Most certainly not anyone who is entering a mass of memorials cares more the numbers and without any reflection of family. This has to be a dark place. Admittedly some reasonable approach of which relative rights by [censored] has to be made, but far too many of [censored] top top "collectors or numbers fanatics" members are only after larger numbers, and they are not about to give up management of a memorial, no matter what hiding behind the flawed [censored] guidelines, which is an ongoing issue confronting [censored]!
What if in my case my great aunt had no children under the guidelines? What if after finding her grave without any identification, I correct her internment records and paid for a maker? What if the person does not respond? I have 10 plus years doing extensive old school research as a genealogist. The existing contributor has a team. Is [censored] aware the contributor works for a municipal agent in the Tidewater area with contacts at various Department of Cemeteries of adjacent Cities, who feed her referrals, that has now accumulated to 63, 923 and still growing?

I will make myself available to answer any questions and most certainly welcome any constructive directions for relief under this denial by Find A Grave's unnamed and unsigned Denial form letter.

Calvin M. Davis

Find A Grave Continued harassment from another find a grave member

As a member of find a grave, one other member has been harassing me and systematically going thru each one of my family memorials that I have added and trying to get me change information erroriously... When I decline her suggestions based on this (and me knowing my family information) she just started going through each memorial and even my own calling me by first name and threatening me... But it appears nothing will happen to her because ancestry administration allowed her changes to my family memorials... For instance putting pictures (a marriage license pic obtained from ancestry.com website) on my great grandfather and great grandmother memorials... The copy of the marriage license was not correct and not my great grandparents...

Find A Grave Memorial sites and customer service

I along with my mom, my aunt and a second cousin had our accounts deactivated from Find A Grave all because of two people who claimed to be relatives that weren't, Mary E. Payne aka Mary E. P Find A Grave # 206372239 and Roni McFadden aka Bluejayln # 47037990. They were constantly posting things on our immediate family memorials that weren't true. Each time, one of us in the family would politely attempt to correct them on something that they had posted that was incorrect and each time, they would get very nasty and just posted more and more untrue things on purpose. All of us filed several complaints (with proof) to Find A Grave without anything ever being done. Not one thing. And now each one of us have had our accounts closed down for what Find A Grave said was harassment without any proof (because there was none or if something was submitted by one of these two, nothing was done to make sure that they were true). No one in our family that was on Find A Grave has never been anything but nice to these two. The only time that I got a little heated was in a complaint due to Mary E. Payne stealing my photographs that I posted on Find A Grave and then she filed a complaint against me to Find A Grave and accused me of of stealing Her Photo's. This Whole Find A Grave is VERY Unprofessional and one Can Not Go By Anything that is posted on the memorials because if this happened to us, then there are other memorials out there that have incorrect information on them

I have reason to believe that Find A Grave has deleted one of my virtual flowers along with its comments. I don't understand why. Plus I just would like to know what happened out of pure and sheer curiosity. The memorial in question is for a famous person. Memorial #1460

I am wondering how to connect to an old Findagrave.com account?

I would to a like to add an old obituary to mt existing Findagrave account. I lost all of my login information when I became sick and ended up in a hospital. My old landlady told me that I could not come back to the place I was renting from last year (2018).
I lost all of my login information plus other stuff.
Lastly; This is not a complaint. I am in need of some assistance.

Find A Grave Date of great grandfather's death is inaccurate

My Great Grandfather Thomas D Murphy died on 13 December 1925. Thomas died of Hemiplegia Arteriosclerosis due to Bronchial Pneumonia. Thomas and Delia are buried in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, Roslindale, MA. He is buried with his wife Delia, Frederick J (my Grandfather) and various other members of family in Mount Benedict Cemetery, I think this error prevents Ancestry and other data banks to provide educated hints based on the data I have. Please resolve this issue for me. I would be so grateful

This site (complaintsboard.com) has nothing to do with Find A Grave. You need to use Find A Grave's processes to suggest changes to memorials. The memorial only contains the death year because that is what is on the marker. That is not an "error". When you search Ancestry and other data banks, they only go by the year, not the exact date.
If you do suggest a change to the memorial (via the Find A Grave processes), you should be prepared to provide documentation for the change. Just saying it is so doesn't make it so. Genealogy without documentation is mythology...

Find A Grave Access to findagrave and a complaint about a comment left on a findagrave page.

I typed out an email to findagrave and ads covered the submit button so I couldn't send it - makes me think findagrave is very dodgy! Anyway I wanted to inform findagrave that someone has left a very derogatory comment on a murder victim's page. The murder victim is Charmaine Marie Byerly Sabrah - the comment is from Fayez Sabrah - obviously he or she had to join findagrave to leave that comment - that comment should be removed - I don't want to join findagrave but should be able to inform you of inappropriate comments on a page. I am in no way related to the victim or her family. I just don't like seeing that happen to someone who can't defend herself. -Eileen Delaney

Find A Grave 2018 Forced Correction
Henry King Odom - [protected] (Please do not delete memorial ID number )
In 2009 Cecelia Stewart (#[protected]) created a Find A Grave Memorial (#[protected]) for a person titled Henry King Odom. It ran for 9 years with the incorrect data.
When confronted with the true facts Cecelia Stewart did not / would not willingly make the corrections to the Henry King Odom biography.
In January 2018 Cecelia Stewart was made to remove her incorrect version of Henry King Odom biography in the recorded Henry King Odom's Find A Grave Memorial. Cecelia Stewart was at the same time made to use as the replacement of the factual true biography written by Henry King Odom's grt-granddaughter . This was 9 years after Cecelia created the incorrect data but not before Family Search.com (ChristineHB7 - 2015) along with 30 Odom Family Trees had put Cecelia Stewart's incorrect data into their ancestry tree. Fact: Tristram Odom was Henry King Odom's UNCLE. This data in this new biography profile is an accurate & factual account of the son of James W. Odom, Jr. and Rebecca Odom. ...By Nancy Craig Solt

Joseph King "Joe" Odom Memorial #[protected]"
In 2015 a memorial was created that was titled 'Joseph King Odom'. This memorial had just 1 photo added...it was his grave marker.
In 2018 Find A Grave removed the 1 grave marker photo from the memorial and activated
this text under the memorial title 'add photo' which reads "Adding photos to this memorial is not allowed." which left "Joseph King ("Joe") Odom memorial #[protected] blank of any photos. This function is active BLOCK as of 10/1/19.y mid March 2018 FIND A GRAVE WAS FORCED to add 3 photos (including the grave marker photo that Find A Grave had earlier removed) to Joseph King Odom's memorial and Find A Grave also changed the memorial title from Joseph King Odom to Joseph King 'Joe' Odom.

Find A Grave Requested photos

I've only been a member for 5 days. The first thing I wanted to do was find my family members, see if there were photos and leave some flowers.

When I found family with no photos I put in a request for some. Well... Jennifer peterson, id [protected] responded by sending me a pornographic video link! Wtf obviously this response was completely unexpected but I have to say i'm not surprised. Sooooo many deplorable, disgusting, immoral degenerates! This is exactly why I do not interact with people socially online!

Hey jennifer! A little advice. You should probably work on yourself, do some soul searching and at least try to be a decent human being before its youre grave registered on this site!

Find A Grave - Online memorial

I have found this site to be very very poor, I had created an account and memorials for loved ones I wished remembered. After a while, behaviour from members on the site concerned and worried me, as some members were at times rude or aggressive towards me and each other for no apparent reason. I decided to remove my memorials and account which I proceeded...

Find A Grave memorials

There is a person named SILE, going through all the memorials on find a grave. THE person seems to think, that, in uploading all the various cemeteries online to find a grave..thats all that has to be done. HOWEVER, in doing that, you can submit the dead person's name, and it will still come up no one exists buried there UNTIL the cemetery updates their website, files, pages, records including the dead person's name. THE Obits I have had in hand, stating where folks are buried..yet, no matter what or when I reinvestigate, that persons name still comes up as not buried at such and such cemetery. UNTIL the cemetery records/files etc are updated, completely, properly..these folks will not exist..even though the cemetery is now online. I thought, creating a memorial, with the person's obits listed on it..would be helpful for folks to at least locate their loved ones, and take it from there. BUT, this person SILE on find a grave, seems to be harassing me today..on every stinking memorial I have created to the point..I deleted them all but 3..and this person SILE is still harassing me. Suggest find a grave put a muzzle on the person and hog tie their fingers.

If you can't find that a certain person has a memorial in a cemetery and an obituary in your possession shows they're buried there then you simply make a memorial and add them to the cemetery. Probably no one else is going to do it. I don't understand what the problem is.

I don't understand your comment whatsoever. Find A Grave memorials have nothing to do with the websites owned by cemeteries.
