I can't believe how FilmLush treated me! I signed up for their free trial, but they cancelled it right away and still charged me! I tried emailing them, but they never responded. And when I called, it was a waste of time. I'm so angry that they would do this to me. I demand my money back and they better not charge me again! This is unacceptable! No stars for FilmLush!

Yo, listen up! I gotta tell you about this website called FilmLush. At first, I was like, "Yo, this looks legit!" But then I saw something fishy. They claim to have over 269,385 users, but when I refreshed the page, the number magically changed to 211,202. Like, what the heck? That's a pretty big difference, if you ask me.

What's even more frustrating is that I haven't watched a single movie on their website, not even during the trial period. I had to suddenly move to another country for a job opportunity and totally forgot that I had signed up. This was at least six months ago, and their charges vary between $36 and $55 a month!

They will ask you to enter your credit card number, and the $#*! in the recording will repeat the numbers and ask you to confirm by pressing the #. Then, they will ask you if you want to cancel. Press 1 if yes, press 2 if no. When you press 1, she will ask you again if you're sure you want to cancel your account. DO NOT PRESS 1! Option 1 is no this time, and 2 is yes.

To make matters worse, they will also try to upsell you a promotional offer for $2.99/month. It's a total rip-off, and I paid over $300 without even knowing it! Don't fall for it, stay away from this website! It's a major scam!

This website, FilmLush, is a total ripoff. I'm not the only one who thinks so, either. I've contacted the FTC with all the information I have, and it seems like they're already aware of this scam. They're going to break some bones real soon, if you know what I mean.

The thing is, this company has a bunch of websites that all look and feel the same. They just create new domain names whenever one of their sites gets too many complaints. Here are some of the other sites they run: PushPlay.com, ReelHD.com, CinemaDen.com, ItsHD.com, MovieLush.com, FlixAddict.com, CinaMuse.com, ReelVidz.com, Cineble.com, and Moviease.com. The differences between these sites are minor, if they exist at all. It's a simple tactic, really. You guys complain about ItsHD.com, and then tomorrow they'll change the name to filmlush.com. If filmlush.com gets too many complaints, they'll create CinemaDen.com, and so on. They just keep moving on to new names, while you guys keep complaining about the old ones.

Here's how the scam works. They have an affiliate network called "Affiliatebuzz" (www.affiliatebuzz.com). Affiliates are website owners (in this case, movie websites) that put ads for Affiliatebuzz websites (like ItsHD.com) on their domains. The ads are designed to trick customers into thinking they can download movies that are still in theaters. They might show a "download now" button, a video that starts and requests you to register, or some other form of trickery. Each time an affiliate brings a customer (a sucker), they pay him $10-$16 per registration. So these affiliates are highly motivated to keep doing this.

When a customer visits one of these affiliate sites and clicks on a banner or whatever, they get sent to one of the Affiliatebuzz sites, like ItsHD.com. They think they're going to get the movie they clicked on, but instead, they're told it's just a free trial. The customer, thinking they'll get the movie they wanted, registers for the free trial. The terms of the sale are very shady (on purpose), so the customer isn't really aware of what they're buying or what it will actually cost them.

After registering, it's very hard to cancel. I'm sure all the good people in this forum are aware of that, so I won't elaborate. Statistically, many of you won't notice the charges for a while, or you're not aware of your consumer rights (like chargebacks). That's how this outfit has survived so far.

But here's the good news: blatant scams like this NEVER last long. I'm frankly surprised they haven't gotten their merchant account suspended and a major lawsuit up until now. But the FTC is working on these guys. They take a while to gather all the evidence, and they do it quietly. Once they're done, they hit fast and hard with a million-dollar lawsuit backed by top law firms. It doesn't matter if the site is in the US, UK, or wherever. The FTC has very long hands. So stay tuned, because justice is on its way.

And I'm sorry for all the people who got suckered in by this fraud. It's not your fault. These scammers are very good at what they do. Just remember, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

I never heard of this website till it showed up on my bank statements. And every time I try to pull up the website it says it doesn't exist. Every time I try calling one of the two numbers I've heard of for them i get "this number has been disconnected". I want to know the name on the account and more importantly...I want a refund!

I have been charged by the above 3 film site companies without authorisation. This is what happened.

My daughter was required to watch an Afrikaans film for a school assignment. We searched for it online and found it on a film website. Before being able to watch it, I was asked to provide my credit card details - at which time I was specifically told that no money would be deducted from my card. I entered my details. The url was for upspirity.com

At this time it defaulted to a 'donation' page where I was asked whether I would like to donate $1 to a children's fund. There was no option on the page so, having worked out that it would be less than R15, I agreed. We were then stuck on that page - with no way to proceed on to download the film. We tried going onto the same site later and the web url had changed to a different name - ovymedia.com. It also requested my credit card details and then proceeded to the donation page. Suspecting something was not right, we exited the page. We were unable to download the film at all.

I checked my credit card statement today online and see that THREE charges of R500+ each have been deducted as well as the R14.72 that I authorised. I have not been on the Filmlush website and have certainly not authorised any credit card deduction from that but see that I have been charged by that site as well at least THREE times.

Please contact me urgently with regard to the above.

It informed me that as a trial for 7 days watching films was free and required me to fill the form for trial period, which I did. I do not remember I ever watched any film even during the trial period.
Please note, I never subscribed for permanent membership, nor filled any form for longer duration than 7 days. Even then I have been charged $80 for 2 months.
It is patently wrong. Please refund $ 80 and hence forward cancel "membership", which I never had except in your imagination.
I must never be charged any money in future.
