Federal Loan Modification Law Center Loan modification scam

We contacted FLM law center about a modification, they retained 1500 dollor from us in order to save our home. They said we were prime clients and a modification will be no problem, After months of trying to talk to them and see what was going on, we gave up it was almost a month two our sale date on our house and we could not wait. We had to take matters into our own hands- we called our mortgage company- Litton loan servicing, and found out we were in no way eligible for a modification. It has been stressful- we almost lost our home- and we are currently pre approved for a modification because of my husband and I hard work and refusal to give up our home. In no way are we safe yet. We have to make it through the trial modification. We did eventually hear back from aFLM employee who we had worked with directly- named terrance white. He told us that FLM was lying to us and if we did not trust him we would lose our home. He asked for our bank info to wire our refund back to us, we declined but gave him the option to call our banker and talk to her about our option. We wanted her to tell us if this was another scam. She called us back and informed us that Mr. White had tried to immpersonate my husband, asked our account balance and if they would tranfer all funds into another account. Luckly we live in a small town and know our banker, she refused to do anything for my Mr. White (whom was claiming to be my husband). We are soooo angry at FLM for not scaming us once but trying to scam us twice. I will do anything to see this company punished for the stress and fear they have caused for us and other poeple as well. We feel violated and do not want this to happen to anyone else!

Federal Loan Modification Law Center Paid them $995 in march; now property has been "seized " by mortgage co.

My wife and I paid these people $995 in March, 2009, to get our mortgage payments lowered. We sent them a bunch of information they said they needed. We have received little communication from them. At this time we were only getting collection letters from the mortgage company. Then in June, 2009, we received a "forclosure" letter from the mortgage company's attorney. We had been told by the above company to let all correspondence be through them and not to pay until told to. Now, as of June 12, 2009, we have received a notice of "seizure" and "sale" on our property. We have until August 5, 2009, to find a way out. The mortgage company says they have never heard from the above company regarding our mortgage. We have a copy of a lawsuit filed by the Federal Trade Commission against FLM Law Center in April, 2009, alledging "fraud" and many other things. If anyone knows what the best route is to take at this point, pls post in this web site and I will get it. We live in Louisiana.

I was contacted several days ago by a man purporting to be with a law firm that FLM has turned our account over to. He was supposed to send me some forms to fill out by e-mail, but I have not heard from him. My disabled wife is living on the property, I am unemployed, and my unemployment insurance payments just ran out. I feel like I am going around in circles. HELP!

Called company to see if they could help me out with my overdue mortgage payments. seemed helpful at the start calling back to confirm paper work and compiling information about my mortgage - asking me to send bank draft so they could start processing my account. they called back saying they needed $1495.00 to continue the process, once they recieved the money thats when all communication with this company came to a halt. after repeated attempts to contact FLM i finally reached customer service where i was told they were so swamped with business that they would contact me within a few days. as you can guess i got the same run around with thier automated phone system, i was able to reach another individual who told me that a representative had just walked by and he would stop him and find out what was going on with my account. well here i am almost 3 months later and i can not reach anybody at this company at any time of the day. FLM is a rip-off with low lifes working to steal your money, stay away from these ###.

And still trying.. They made a promise to help me get my interest rate down. I have all the documentation. I have left messages emails to no avail. I need to know how I can take this further. Paid $3495 to Law Center to do a loan modification for my mortage with Bank of America. Spoke with attorneys for bank foreclosures and my loan is currently in foreclosure proceedings. Federal Law Center did nothing to get my mortage modified. Cannot get in touch with Eric Ochoa who I first spoke with to get debit card number to pay for services and to refer my loan to an attorney. Attorney that was assigned to me was Joshua at [protected]. Get a busy signal when I try to call Joshua and get caught in automatic answering loop when I try to call Federal Loan Modification Law Center. Any dpcuments that were received by Bank of America or foreclosure attorneys were sent by me, nothing has been received from law center. SCAM.

I totally agree with the Nathanson law firm being a huge scam! Don't let them talk you into giving them your money till you read the BBB complaint board.. You are better off doing it yourself!

the Sheman and Nathanson Law Group is a huge scam. They used to have a company called Rewiremyloan and took lots of peoples money and did very little. You are either very lucky or you work for them because everyone I know says to stay away from them. The people that they run with are all scam artists who belong in jail. That is my take and what I have seen from very trustworthy sources.

I am So sorry to hear what happened that’s why I entrusted in a law firm to get my Modification done. I recently did a loan Modification with the Sherman and nathanson Law Group. They walked me through every step of the process from start to finish, I was very fortunate to find such a wonderful company to work with. If I may recommend any company to do your loan modification I would give them a call, they did my entire loan modification in exactly 47 days and anytime I had a question they were very responsive in getting right back to me. Its unfortunate there are so many bad company's out there, If anyone comes across any other bad companies please post because no one deserves to get there house taken from them. You can contact them at [protected] the gentlemen I worked with name was Bret hope this was helpful.

Please be carefully with any other loan modification company on this complain board about FLM . They might be an old member of FLM and operated under a new name. That have happened a lot across the country. The Fed closed them down but they open a new company and operate under it. Be carefull.

they are under investigation by the Federal Trade Commision - you might as well give up on re-doing your mortgage with this company. Go to the FTC website and add your info to the compalint and also file a claim with the better business bureau out in California

All I can say is we all got taken on a good ride. Call your bank see if they can help you. Get in contact witht he Federal Trade Commission.
Then call this number [protected] he is a paralegal who deals with helping people who have been abused by fed mod and has even started to recover moneys that have been lost. Hope this helps.

Your right and you will not get in touch with them the only way to get your money back is to file a fraud dispute with you bank. You also need to contact the Federal Trade commission and file a case number with them because your bank will require it to return you funds. It also take 45 days for the bank to investigate and release the refund to you but it does happen

Well you are misinformed. I was told in order for us to modify our loan we need to behind a month so in Jan. we went behind. Being 86thou upside down in our house we needed to do something. I am not loosing my home by any means and as far as the wed site you give the are so busy that there is a six month waiting list before you are contacted.
Also Fed mod has some 5000 customers that are in the same situation the FBI seized them in April and they were working under 22 different names and 11 different tax ID numbers.
Also I am a person who educates my self before doing something like this. I watched a report CNN had in Jan. on this company and there success rates. I called the BBB and they had an A rating also they are listed with chamber on commerce in Ca. as a wonderful company to work with.
So I did not just jump in to something as you are trying to say.

I found the Federal Loan Modification law firm website when I was looking for ways to modify my current home loan before I got into a situation we could not handle. I started the process with them in January 2009. The first person I spoke with said I was the "perfect" candidate and he was sure they could get me into a more comfortable monthly payment with our loan company and into a fixed rate loan. He had me submit all of my paperwork and said the whole process would not take longer than 90 days. After a few months of wondering what was going on and being in contact with different people at the 'company' I was finally notified that we did not qualify for a loan modification from our mortgage company. The lady I spoke to at that time said I would get a full refund within 60 days. Needless to say I am still waiting for my refund and all of the phone numbers I try for the company are no longer in service. I don't know what to do from here!

there are under investigation by the Federal Trade Commsion - your best bet at this point is to add your name to the FTC complaint and contact the better business bureau out in California - I am right there with you - but I took it a step further when I did not receive and phone calls back. I searched and found my reps name and called her at home - needless to say - she was not happy...and she had been fired from the company prior to the FTC closing them.

I found the Federal Loan Modification law firm on CNN. I called them last October. And signed with them in Nov 2008. The person I spoke with said that my particular loan was illegal. It would be a slam dunk to modify my loan they would get me into a more comfortable monthly payment with my loan company at a fixed rate loan. I even have emails stating much of these promises. I submitted all of my paperwork and said the whole process would would take 60 to 90 days. After a few months I was finally notified that we did not qualify for a loan modification from my mortgage company. I was told I would receive a letter from my bank, but never received the letter. I was told they would resubmit my request, but nothing happened. The guy I spoke with said I would get a full refund. I am still waiting for my refund and all of the phone numbers I try for the company are no longer in service.
