On May 30th we sold our home in NH and were moving to SW FL. We had hired Father and Son to move our belongings to Fl and the truck was supposed to show up the day before but didn’t arrive until almost 9:00 PM the day we closed.

After the movers had over half of our stuff on the truck they informed us that they had to add an additional $1600 to the bill because of extra items that weren’t on the inventory and if we didn’t agree to pay the extra then they would not take them, what could we do but say yes as they already had half of our stuff on the truck.

We felt like we were ripped off as we had a contract and didn’t realize this is how these people operate. We were told by the Sales person we talked to about the move that the price was based by weight and then the movers told us that it was by volume not weight but our contract specified a certain weight we were allowed which I don’t believe we exceeded.

When our things arrived in Fl we found many things broken and found that there is not much we could do as we didn’t take out ins to cover broken items which we didn’t even know about.

In the long run we paid a lot of money for a move and lost some very important items because of a company that just doesn’t care about the people they serve.
