Famous Footwear Bad service

I took my son into the famous footwear in Griffin, Ga to buy back to school shoes. He picked out the pair he wanted and we went to pay. They rang up for 54.99 and they were supposed to be on sale for 39.99. When we questioned this, the store manager walked back to look at the sign. All of the sketchers hotlights were together and under several signs that had a sale sign saying 54.99 and on sale for 39.99. The store manager said they were put in the wrong place. The entire selection was there. He tried to give us different shoes. He then offered us a 4.00 discount. The up front people refused to give us the number for the ditrict manager. After several complaints the store manager gave it to my husband. The district manager was of no help. I proceeded to call customer service. I spoke to someone there who was very nice ( which was a change from the rude response we had gotten until that point). She was not able to help, but connected me to a supervisor. The supervisor was unable to help also. She told me they had to stand behind the store manager. What is the point of customer service if you stand behind the store manager and refuse to help the customer. I have worked in retail and know that if an item is marked on sale, whether it is correct or not, you have to sell it for that item. That didn't happen. We found the same item for a better price at a competitor store. We will NEVER shop their again. I have cut up my rewards card.

Famous Footwear Poor Customer Service

On August 30th I purchased a pair of tie up Rockport Shoes at your Famous Footwear Store in South Portland, ME.
After wearing them only once, the shoe string became frayed to the point that it was about to break.
I returned to the store on the afternoon of September 9th, requesting a replacement pair of shoe laces, and was told by the manager that I would have to purchase them.
I explained the circumstances, and she stated that "we have never had a pair of shoes returned because of a frayed shoe lace." She then just stared at me for 30-45 seconds. Her stare became a glare.
I mentioned that it was not the $2.69 price of the shoe laces I was upset about, rather the principal of the matter. The shoe laces were defective.
The manager then just looked out the window of the store and handed me the shoe laces. No apology. No explanation. Nothing. Not even have a nice day.
I gaurentee that was my last purchase at Famous Footwear. You are not the only store that sells Rockport shoes.

Famous Footwear So disappointed

I have NEVER been so insulted in my life! I USED to love shopping at Famous Footwear, frequent shopper until November 7, 2010! I entered the store with a friend and two children around 4pm. We browsed and tried on several pairs of shoes when we noticed an employee was watching us. We moved to a different aisle thinking it was coincidental, however, again the employee followed us. When she realized that we recognized we were being watched she picked up a random pair of shoes and looked at them. Again we moved to a different aisle making our way towards the front of the store to make our purchases when again the employee began following us. I intended to purchase 2 pairs of boots and one pair of shoes, but after being harassed, I immediately put my shoes down because I refuse to patronize a store that would blatantly follow me because of the color of my skin. There were approximately five other shoppers in the store, however, she conveniently ended up in the same aisle we were in no matter how many times we moved. I immediately proceeded to the door and started to take the children outside while their mother headed towards the counter to complete her transaction. The employee began running towards us as if we stole something. My friend left the shoes on the counter and came outside with us. The employee did not see the shoes on the counter and began to stare us down as if the shoes were in our other shopping bags so we came back in to inform her that the shoes were on the counter. She got closer to the counter and saw the shoes and realized how foolish she looked following us for no reason. We then asked to see the store manager and instead of apologizing for the employees behavior she began making excuses for her saying that there had some black people in the store before us who had stolen some items. I REALLY DON'T CARE WHO WAS IN THE STORE BEFORE ME! IT WASN'T ME AND I SHOULD NOT BE TREATED THAT WAY BECAUSE OF WHAT SOMEONE ELSE DID! Then she tried to say well she was checking every box of shoes because some shoes were missing. I have no problem with that except she wasn't checking every box. If she was checking every box she would not been able to change aisles as swiftly as we did. More importantly, the manager was not on the floor to witness the employees actions so why insult my intelligence even more with these RIDICULOUS excuses. The employee was named Megan and the manager's (possibly assistant manager) name also began with a "M" Maggie, Margie or something like that. The store was located in the Lancaster, PA (Famous Footwear Outlet, Rockvale Outlet Center). I understand retail theft as I used to work in retail in my teens/early 20s, however, to falsely accuse someone and seek someone out because of their skin color is unacceptable. To have the audacity to try to justify these actions based on an incident that did not even involve me or any parties associated with me is outrageous! I am even more outraged by the fact that the manager nor the employee did not even offer an apology. I LOVE to shop but after this incident I highly doubt that I (nor my family/friends) will patronize this company again. I would rather shop where they care about the color of my money rather than the color of my skin!

Famous Footwear Returns on faulty products

Famous Footwear has a policy it will not take any product with or without a receipt after 30 days. I purchased a pair of boots in November. I wore them 4 times and in January the seams had tore completely out. I showed the guy that there were no scuffs. The soles were completely new but he said because it was past 30 days there is nothing they can do. I asked why he didnt back the product they carry and he informed me they absolutely do for 30 days. I feel a pair of boots should last more than 30 days. If I spend $60. for a pair of shoes they should last far more than 4 times.

I definately will not ever go back to this store no matter how cheap they are I can spend my money at other companies that are more than happy to back their products for more than 30 days.

Famous Footwear Bad experience

I went to Famous Footwear the other day to buy shoes. When I entered, the store manager was there. As I was looking for shoes, I overheard her telling one of her employees to watch me because she thought that I was going to steal from the store. I was followed around to the point of feeling harrassed and I finally walked out of the store. Because of this experience, I will never shop at this store again. This has happened not only to me, but to friends of mine. None of us have ever stolen anything from the store as we have bought shoes there before, but were continually monitored by her.

Famous Footwear unordered merchandise

Famous Footwear charged my debit card for and sent 2 pairs of unordered shoes. They didn't require a security code before accepting the order. I've had to file a police report and am still waiting for refund. They are affiliated under their umbrella title of Brown Shoes with Dr. Scholls which I had placed an order several months ago. Apparently one's personal information is at risk if you shop at any of the Brown shoe sites which also includes shoes.com. Don't do business with any of Brown Shoe sites unless you care to have your account overdrawn due to unauthorized purchases. They refused to cancel the order before it was received and to provide the email address where they sent the order confirmation. I became aware of the problem because my bank account went into default and I had to pay $35 overdraft fee for a legitimate check which the unauthorized purchase caused to be without sufficient funds. Customer Service is very bad. Avoid these sites unless you like aggravation and to be a victim of internet fraud !

Famous Footwear Customer service is horrible!

I am so furious with the awful customer service I’ve received from this company. A small complaint has ballooned into a huge one because of the company’s refusal to honor the time commitments they make. I called after having an unfortunate experience in the store, and was told that someone would get back to me within 48 hours. When that didn’t happen, I called again, receiving the same assurance that a phone call would be returned within 48 hours. Around the same time, I also emailed the company, requesting that someone PLEASE contact me. I got an email saying that my email would be addressed within 48 hours. I have now called six times and sent three emails and not one has been returned. I’m warning everyone I can to NOT reward this company with further patronage. If they are not returning my calls because they are so inundated with complaints, then this should let people know that this company cares about nothing besides making a profit. I am taking a stand and using every medium available to warn other customers what is in store for them, if they ever have a problem.

Famous Footwear Rude associate who discriminates

I went to a Famous Footwear in Ohio. I was visiting from out of state. I attempted to purchase a pair of child's shoes for 31.00. I wrote a check and it came back "declined" to my surprise, as I've never had a check decline and I had just written a check at Kohl's that same day with no problems whatsoever.

She tried to ring it again and it declined. I told her that maybe it was declining because I'm from out of state, I had no idea. I told her don't worry about it and I gave her my Visa debit card--I've been with this credit union for years and recently I got a new card and it's not like the old cards--the name and numbers are flatly printed on the card.

The associate looked at the card, then looked at me stonefaced and said, "I'm not swiping this card, it looks suspicious."

I was taken aback and told her that this card is VERY legitimate, she had my state ID as well with the card.

Associate: Do you have another form of payment, because I am not swiping that card. I have never seen a card like that and I don't want my name attached to it.

Me: So you wont even TRY to swipe my card? There are zillions of credit cards in the world and just because YOU have never seen one like this, doesn't mean it does not exist!

Associate: What? What are you you trying to say? That I live in a bubble?

Me: I don't know where you live, but it's a valid card. There is the eagle hologram and everything on this card and you have my ID with the card.

Associate: THAT IS NOT FAIR! YOU DON'T KNOW ME TO SAY THAT I LIVE IN A BUBBLE AND DON'T KNOW ANYTHING!

I told her I don't know where she lived or whatever, but my card is valid and I want her to swipe it.

Associate: I will swipe it, but only as a debit, I won't do it as a credit.

Me: Fine with me!

She swipes the card, I put my PIN number in---APPROVED.

I think it's over, but it's not.

She continues to berate me, telling me she didn't like the tone I talked to her in and if I wasn't doing anything wrong, why did I get shaky and upset!

I told her I got shaky and upset, because I don't like being accused of being a credit card criminal, when I did nothing wrong!

After she kept talking garbage AFTER the transaction was complete, I had enough. I didn't want the the shoes at this point. It was the principle of the matter now.

Me: Forget it. I've had it with you. Credit my account. I don't want the shoes now.

Associate: NO! I will not credit the account! LEAVE THE STORE!

Me: I will not leave the store until you credit my account!

Associate: Fine. She grabs the phone and calls the police department!

Associate on the phone with the police:
"I have a woman who will not leave the store." Pause

"African American" I then say "HA!"

She takes the phone from her ear and says, "I didn't tell them, they asked me your race!".

She gets back on the phone and says "okay" and hangs up.

Me: I used to work at the police department in Indiana. Let them come.

We go back and forth, me arguing YOU ARE GOING TO CREDIT MY ACCOUNT. After arguing with me, she then relents and does it.

Soon as I sign the return receipt, here comes TWO POLICE CARS.

The cop enters the store and she says, "OFFICER, ESCORT THIS WOMAN OUT THE STORE!".

We walk outside and I tell him how absurd this is and I didn't appreciate being accused of something, when I did nothing wrong. The officer tells me they have a right to turn down something that looks suspicious. ((whatever)))

The cop apologized and asked me for my ID. He took my information and as I was leaving, I look inside and she is in there LAUGHING and SMILING with both cops!

So who do you think will win in this situation?

A young, white blond shoe clerk?

Or a 43-year-old college edcuated Black woman with ZERO criminal history?

I do NOT appreciate being treated the way I was, it was humiliating and I while that shoe clerk laughed and thought it was funny to send the police to the store for NOTHING, I won't rest until she is either fired or seriously reprimanded. What happened to me was wrong, point blank. I never used one expletive or was threatening to her.

Basically, I was a Black woman who intelligently held her own ground to that store and the police. I will never, ever step foot in that store again and I have forwarded my experience to corporate, with a letter detailing what happened and a letter from my credit union who were appalled that I was treated in this manner with their new "flat face" cards.

If you are black, be careful shopping in Cuyahoga Falls! I'm still reeling a week later from what I went through.

All of your nasty responses really make me wonder--if I had not stated I was black--if I had just shared this experience and left my race out of it, I wonder if your responses would have been the same. I'm 100% certain your responses would have been different.

Again, when race is brought up, it really exposes the white psyche.

Well, I've said everything I wanted to say--have a great day and life! I won't be back to this board. It's pointless. You will never understand the way I feel, that I have to constantly fight stereotypes, etc., and I won't understand how you feel as a white person. That's just life I suppose.

Update by Valerie3976
Feb 20, 2011 2:39 pm EST

I really didn't make this post to debate with white people on what you deem is not racist or not, nor will I get into a pointless discussion with any of you of how you believe we live in this utopian c0untry and racism doesn't exist. Again, until you become black, and walk in a black person's shoes, your keystrokes are worthless.

How dare you call me some entitled ###! The responses on here are very telling of you all. Really? LOL As far as calling me an ###, is your IQ that small that you can't refrain from name calling? Grow up.

Furthermore, from my past experiences, white women have a MAJOR sense of entitlement unlike no other and YES I do too. Yes, I know that will sound racist to you, but it's true. White women expect to be treated kindly and [censored], I expect it too! So if that makes me entitled, then so be it. Why is it that white women you expect the best, but black people should just accept anything. YOU are the ones who need to get over yourselves!

When I am in a place of business, I expect to be treated with common courtesy and respect, just like I am going to treat the person handling my business with respect as well. Call it entitlement, call it whatever the hell you want, but I will not stand to be racially profiled and treated like garbage.

To Mollie Wollie--HA! So the cop would not even bother making a report. Well guess what--I didn't get that luxury. I called the police department later to see if a report was filed and yes, a mini report as they called it was FILED that said woman gave clerk a hard time. How laughable. So there you go--the police didn't bother to put a report in your name, but they sure as hell did so with me, even though I was completely in my rights for asking for a refund. If that insufferable witch would have just given my refund, I would have gladly left the store.

Again, this is a complaint board about a business, I'm not in here to discuss racial politics with any of you. Find somewhere else to troll please.

Update by Valerie3976
Feb 19, 2011 11:42 pm EST

To the first person, I didn't act like a [censored], she was the [censored]! Furthermore, if you are not Black, save me with your "get over it" replies. I find it incredulous for a white person who doesn't have to deal firsthand with racism to tell me how I should feel or something doesn't exist. Until you walk in my shoes, your reply means nothing.

To Mollie Wollie, at first I didn't think of it as a racial incident, until she continued this "battle of wills" with me! I was "suspicious" to her. Suspicious on what basis? I did nothing to be suspicious. Furthermore, I gave her my debit card AND identification. If I was some criminal credit card scammer, I would have merrily swiped the card myself, as there was a little machine in front of me. When my check didn't go through, I gladly handed her my card and identification. This girl was a ### from the beginning with me. I remember I was in the back looking at the clearance shoes from kids and she kept coming back there against the wall where I was, but I ignored her watching me, because I was doing nothing wrong. I hope there is video footage of my whole time I was in the store. Perhaps she was more ignorant than racist, but you better believe that my race did play a factor in her behavior. I can't expect either of you to understand, because AGAIN you don't have to deal with "shopping while black". I have a question Mollie Wollie--what did you do about that siutation? Did you leave the store before the police arrived? Did you call and complain about how you were treated?

I think that "white people" as you say do have race issues. We are automatically called racists just for being white. We are racist because we look to long at someone or are rude to some one. It was very wrong for that ### to be rude to you. I have a black sister and yes we do get followed more when we are with her but we get followed without her too and i am in no way saying that shopping while black is not a real thing. I worked for a company that encouraged us to follow other races but i dont feel that just because the cashier was white does that mean it was souly racely motivated she also was a major ###.

I don't expect the best. I understand this is a world of turmoil and unhappiness. However, I realize that there are multiple reasons for said turmoil and it is not always the simplest reason. I was once treated very poorly by a coworker. I thought it was because he had something against me personally, but it turned out that his best friend had just died. You shouldn't be okay with the way you were treated and no one here is saying that. We are saying that you shouldn't automatically call racism. Some people are just terrible at customer service or unhappy with their own workplace. Should you fight it? Hell yes. Should you assume it's because you're black? No.

I like how you pin me down for name calling, but you are completely allowed to call your clerk an "insufferable witch."

If you didn't want people to disagree with you then you shouldn't have posted on the internet. But to answer your question, yes, my comment would have been the same. Black, white, asian, indian, mexican, whatever: The clerk was rude, but she within her rights to refuse a refund, be suspicious, and kick you out of the store. You deserve to complain but waiting for the police to come instead of leaving of your own accord shows a little of your participation in the problem.

I hope you realize what a pathetic, racist individual you are. Saying "all white women have a sense of entitlement" is extremely racist. YOU are part of the problem.

It is completely legal for them to refuse anything they deem suspcious and to deny you a refund or force you out of the store at any time. I don't agree with how she handled the situation, but she was within her rights for most of it.

Also, please don't automatically assume her intentions were racist. She may just be terrible at customer service.

"Furthermore, if you are not Black, save me with your "get over it" replies." Nevermind what I said. There is racism happening here, and it's you. Stop being such an entitled ###. I find it hilarious that someone has the exact same situation and you discredit it because of their race. How can you not realize how incredibly racist you are being?

Famous Footwear Dirty deal

This is so stupid I bought a pair of shoes (nike high-top vandal high the last pair in the store) without my husband with me to try them on, when they did not fit I brought them back and the right shoe was slightly dirty on the bottom not because of my white carpets in my home but because of this filthy store floors. I bought this shoe dirty it was their store, but their employees both said they can't sell it dirty yet all the display shoes with white bottoms were dirty as well. I had my receipt and had to get store credit because it was visible dirty. I was given their 800 # but it has been busy every time I called.

Their home delivery is absolutely horrible, found some boots in store that were not the color i want but size worked, associate told me they had more colors avail through home delivery which was free, but free is not always better. I would have WAY more preferred to pay a measely shipping charge to avoid all this B.S., waited 7 business days, shoes had not came, tracked it online with the tracking number located on receipt, and said "unable to deliver; wrong address" What? The lady repeated my address twice to me in the store, address on receipt is correct, so i call the 1-800 number, and out of frustration and assuming its my post-mans fault or something, I ask for them to be just sent to the store (My only other option, after all) Anyways, woman on phone from the 1-800 tells me I know you're frustrated for having waited and i explained to her i live in an apartment complex so i had made myself avail to wait for the package at home, she assures me there's a "strong possibility" the shoes will arrive at the store before an additional 7-10 business days. So i wait 8 business days, calling the store everyday, people at store are getting annoyed, and today tracked my package again and it says that my shoes have been shipped and "delivered" (with a green check mark) to Lebec Ca. This is about 300 miles from where I live, and this is not the factory or source where the shoes came from, they came from Los Angeles when they originally left the factory store to be delivered to me. Famous Footwear sucks, The people in-store are completely patronizing (Someone told me "You can call back tomorrow-Saturday-Maybe they came...But don't call Sunday, Mail doesn't come on Sundays") Wow! Thanks! I wasn't aware! Delivery sucks, the people on the phone treat you like you're a ###, I will never order anything from them ever again. You get what you pay for! Free shipping equals somebody in Lebec running around in my shoes i paid for. Oh and the people on the 1-800 number close the phone lines early, i called them to check up on what i read today. Ugh!

When my mother and I went to the Famous Footwear (13 Mystic View Rode, Everett, MA) there was a young girl that worked there. She was very sweet, and I was looking for some All Stars and she checked the kid's size, the women's size, in the storage, etc. 2 times. Then comes this elder lady and was so rude to her, she said "You can't go back in the storage and look for them. We can't do their shopping for them, that's their job. You say to them there it is and that is it!" The poor girl felt so embarrassed when all she tried to do is help us. The elder women should not speak to a young girl that is new there, she should have more respect. Also, she was rude to me and my mother she said in a snappy voice "Check the back, that's all we have." It was so rude, I hope this is taken care.

Sincerely,
Eliane, Emanuella, and Reginaldo Santos

I went to your location in Tualatin and was informed that your store does not take any products back after 30 days. I have worn a pair of boots I bought in November about a total of 4 times. There are no scuffs nothing but when I went to put them on this morning noticed the seams were completely ripped. It was obviously a factory problem and was informed there was nothing they would do.

I am definately disappointed with your stores policy and lack of back up for your product. I know I can go to other stores and get a replacement product at least for a factory default. I will promise you I will never shop at your store and because I am currently a intern looking for new cloths and a student that knows many other people looking for cloths I will definately make it my mission to let people know your product will last a little over one month and they will also be throwing any money away they spend at your store.

I have found the only options, against faulty companies that are looking to make a fast buck, are to write letters and let all of my friends and family know about crappy business practices.

Sincerly,

One very disappointed consumer that has lost faith in Corp. America.

Famous Footwear A sorry disaster

I was looking for a good pair of comfortable shoes for city walking. Before going to FAMOUS FOOTWEAR on 34th Street, Manhattan, I was at THE RUNNING COMPANY at the TIME-WARNER CENTER. For an hour, a young man at that establishment helped me so much. However, wanting to do comparison shopping, I went to this store following an advertisement I read. A sorry disaster!First, I asked a young woman for help and she barely understood anything about the needs I was converying. Then she disappeared, I then asked another young woman who made a half hearted attempt to be "helpful" and then a "supervisor" told her to go to another section. I then found a supervisor to register a complaint and she "apologized". Why? It didn't change anything. I asked how many people work in that huge section. the disdmal answer was ONE. I listened to rambling about customers, etc. and promptly left the store, never to return again. Pathetic organization.

Famous Footwear Dont do anything with this company if they dont have what you want on hand

I had went 2 a famous footwear at the mall 1.5 weeks ago. Found a pair of snow boots I liked, but they did not carry my size. They talked me in to home shipping direct from another store or factory. Well there is still no shipment and the status still says ups has paperwork but no package yet. I could of went to a store an hour away and that had the size I wanted! I am very disappointed in this company I have bought a lot of shoes from over the years. Now to let you know my anger stems from, I was called from the store where I made the purchase and said my shoes are in come get them. I thought that was funny since it was to be a home delivery, but I went anyway. When I got there the manager told me they did not call me and they do not have the size I wanted, that it will be delivered. I sat and argued about the call I got and she was very rude about it, so I left. Now a week later and still no boots, famous footwear site still says no delivery for what they sold me and no date for it to be delivered. Dont do anything with this company if they dont have what you want on hand!

Famous Footwear Different pricing on same item of different color

This is just a notification of an inconsistent practice for Famous Footwear stores and its website. Although the original price of shoes is the same for all colors of those shoes, when those shoes go on sale or clearance the black costs twice as much as any of the other colors. There is no accusation being made however there is not reason why this would happen. If the manufacturer had original suggested a different original price, and the stores would have complied with that in their original pricing, then there would be no issue, But when the original price on the box is the same for all colors there is no excuse for the price gauging of the color black.

What a bubble headed complaint! Manufacturers and retailers discontiue colors all the time. When a color reaches the end of its life it gets marked down and sold off. Black is a basic color and rarely gets marked down. This is a common practive among all retailers.

To suggest this is either stupid or dishonest

Famous Footwear Abuse of Privalages

Hello I need your help.

Last week my partner and I visited a Famous Footwear in Columbus, Ohio. When we were checking out we asked the clerk about a few different items that they didn't stock. He said they didn't stock them. We suggested that maybe he could mention it to the manager to order for next time. He said "I am the manager and I can't order anything for you, our corporate office does all the ordering." his tone was kind of rude so I chalked it up to a bad day and moved on. Mark went to swipe our signed Chase checking card for the bill and the manager asked for his ID. Mark said he didn't have it but we have a joint account. I ran my card through and showed him my ID and I signed the slip.

The next day we were checking out for groceries at Trader Joe's before we left for an out of town trip. I ran my card as credit and it was declined. I ran it again, also declined. Mark ran his Chase checking card through as debit, declined. Mark also ran his Chase credit card through, wow declined. I had $1, 800 available at the time in our checking account.

I called the customer service number on the back. They said they were notified that our account was compromised and they canceled all of our cards. I told her I was holding up the grocery line as we speak and I needed to checkout. It took about 10 minutes and she allowed my transaction to process. I told her I didn't lose my card or have any problems with it and did not report it stolen. She told me that anyone can report my card as compromised and I would have to talk to the fraud department. They ended up saying that a retailer had reported suspicious activity on my card and they decided to close the accounts.

She also told me they left a voice mail. I told her that when I opened my chase account three years ago that I would get about six calls each week about promotions and marketing so I changed my main number to a voice mail line I periodically check. I also informed her that I requested a note to my account that any communications take place via e-mail or text. She said that the fraud department can only have an IVR call my phone. She also told me that she would not provide me with any documentation of exactly who called in the fraud complaint. I spoke to her supervisor who said he was also not able to release the exact business name. They are sending me new cards, but as it stands I have no access to my funds from Chase.

I was told before that you don't have to show people your ID on signed cards; I gave my ID anyway just to be helpful.

What can I do to be entirely sure this was instigated by Famous Footwear?
What rights do I have to my account records from Chase/Visa?
Do I need to always show my ID when it is asked for on a signed card?
What level of justification is required when retailers report suspicious activity?
Can they just call it in when they feel like it or do they have to give a report?

The Adidas shoes are not an issue. The store advertised a 25% discount on all ahtletic shoes, but did not honor that discount. We paid the marked price and the clerk said she could do nothing because the computer wouldn't let her fix it.

I went into a location in Northern Va and found out a person i knew from high school that was charged for robbery, theft, FRAUD, CREDIT CARD THEFT, CHECK FRAUD and the list goes on. She was put in jail for years and got out a few months ago. Now she works at this location in Leesburg (i think according to her friends). I will never shop there with a convicted Felon as a manager. This is outrageous and i have told everyone i know about it, they are done shopping there all together as a company as well! I will be calling the papers and new agency around town. Beware of using your card or check at Northern Virginia locations of Famous Footwear. Next time do a background check FAIL!

What is it with Famous Footwear and needing ID. Twice I had a hard time when returning shoes. I have a legitimate government issued ID with photo. She said that kind of ID wasn't on the "list" She was not going to let me return defective shoes I purchased two days before and never wore. I put up a fuss, and she overrode the ID "this time". She lectured me on how I tried to do this before and it can't happen again. The manager was so rude I called customer service to complain. All they would do is give me a $10 coupon. I said no other store asked for ID for returns and she said "oh yes they do". I realized I was getting no where so I hung up. I e-mailed a complaint to the company, but don't expect any answer. I would like to know what Famous Footwear does with this data base of IDs. I am suspicious.

I agree. I too have had bad service with the customer service department of famous footwear. I received a gift card, I went and to a famous footwear store in Mesa, Az. They did not have the size boots I wanted for my husband. I was told I could pay for them at the time and they would ship them out. I never received them, waited for my refund on a gift card. Did this on Oct. 21, 2009 and today is Dec. 18, 2009 still waiting for my gift card. Diana Leibham
