Family Dollar work conditions

Store 7216: manegment expects employees to tackle possible thief's.
Customer constantly accused of stealing.

No A/C, or heat.
No running hot water.
Ceiling is caving in from water damage.
Infested with cockroaches.
Food in freezer and refrigerator are damaged due to old dirty appliances.
Merchandise is stocked wrong due to unpaid and over worked employees.
PAY:
$9-11 HR. No raise become supervisor if your hired making $10.50 hr
No extra pay for working on holidays.
No employee discount.

Family Dollar chestnut hill flour

Purchased the flour from Family Dollar at Virgie, Ky. Refrigerated my floor I purchased until use. November 25th, 2019 . Wanted to fix Chef Boyardee pizza using the flour purchased to roll out the dough from this pizza kit. To find bugs in the flour, ruining the pizza I purchased. Also ruining my appetite for the rest of the day. This had made me sick to my stomach. To find that others have experienced the same out of this product. Something should be done about it. Should atleast accommodate my pizza and flour bought. Bad experience.

Family Dollar slandering

My aunt went in the family dollar store on 11-24-19 and she purchase a few items (3), and she paid for her items then exited the store and went to her vehicle and decided to take one of the greeting cards out and fill it out. While in the vehicle an employee of family dollar knocked on her window, my aunt rolled down the window and ask if she could help the employee, the employee responded by stating that her friend heard the door beep and my aunt informed her that she did not hear it beep. Mind you in this store there is an exit door and an entrance door two separate doors. So my aunt informed the employee that she has her receipt and that if the employee wanted to she could search my aunts purse. The employee then said NO that's okay and then went back into the store. Later my aunt received a phone call from a friend stating that his mother was being falsely acquised for theft because of a Facebook Post that the assistant manager APe Maree Phillps-Fay posted on her Facebook. Now if my aunt did steal something then the cops should have been called but they were not called and the assistant manager did not seemed worried about it after she approached my aunt. My aunt DID NOT steal anything and this employee need to be reprimanded for her actions and this post can be taken to civil court and she can be sued for the false slandering.

I already spoke with the store manager and informed them of the post on facebook and she informed me that it will be dealt with and that the employee will get written up. the person who posted it on facebook is the assistant manager that is very young and has lots of learning to do. On another note from what I have heard that several employees at this store post pictures of customers of the similar way calling customers out in public.

Family Dollar store manager very rude

I went into the Las Vegas, New Mexico family dollar to get some stuff and she had a very bad attitude towards me, didnt even say a word. Not even a thank you. I paid cash and she shoved the change at me. She even gave me a dirty look. If she doesnt like her job maybe she should quit. The name on her badge was Shelly. I wont be shopping there ever again! And I will be spreading the word not to go there.

Family Dollar a/c

Good afternoon,
I have gone into the Family Dollar store located at the address above several times in the last two weeks, including today, and each time it is unbearable. I thought each time after the first time the A/C would be repaired, but no such luck. There has been and is no A/C and I sure Management is aware of this issue. There were several people in line and one cashier. A gentleman came in and wanted to buy a phone but he would have to wait until she finished with the customers in line. It is inhuman and illegal treating people as though they were animals. Undoubtedly the people who work there are afraid to say anything about the A/C for fear of losing their jobs. There is no sign on the door informing prospective customers of the conditions inside. I inquired of one of your store employees about what had happedned to the A/C, her reply was I don't know and it's hot. This is not acceptable! Would you have or let one of your relatives work in conditions such as this? I think not. Family Dollar... you should be ashamed of yourself. Do better by your employees and your customers.

Family Dollar customer service

This evening one of the employees told me I need to hurry up because they were closing. The time at that moment was 9:37 p.M. When I was not in compliance, the older woman working the register... Her name started with a k I believe, slammed my money on the counter verses handing to me since I didn't leave the store before 9:50 p.M. She also told her coworker to lock the doors before other customers walked in.in which they did walk and the woman at the cash register cussed and called the customers names under her breath. This behavior is completely baffling seeing as though I am shopped at various family dollar locations and have never had a bad experience until this evening.

Family Dollar employees

Went to this location to get tobacco products (gars) the employee began to tell me that she could not sell me the products because I was not 21, which is not the law. The law is if you were already 18 before the new law was passed you are still allowed to buy tobacco products, so let's start buy teaching your employees correct information. To top it off after being rudely treated by your employees I was attacked by your workers... Run your cameras you will see video footage of me having a fight with an employee she had an eyebrow piercing and was skinny, brown skin, with her hair in a ponytail. I also believe she identifies as a male from the way her clothes were worn. We had a whole fight another employee began to hold me down so that the other employee can hit me. They continued to follow me to my car outside but didn't do anything. This is ridiculous and the whole store should be fired it makes no sense for the ghetto ness I had to deal with from all of your workers. I'm planning to sue the entire store.. Please do better. This incident happened on november 18, 2019 around 1:15pm in houston, tx. Please hire better employees

Family Dollar service

Date: 11/20/2019 Time : 5:41:18pm Store #02199 Register: [protected]

Today I experienced a horrible interaction between the customer right before me and the Cashier. The customer had a return, the cashier looked at the items and instantly said, "I can't return this because you bought it from another store." The customer and I then looked at the Return Policy that is posted on a Big Red sign right next to the register and it Clearly read, " If you are not satisfied with your merchandise then you can return it to ANY FAMILY DOLLAR." The cashier proceeded to say that the policy didn't matter and she can call her store manager to confirm what she was saying. Once she got SOMEONE on her cellphone, she then proceeded to tell that person the tell the customer that they do no return merchandise from another store. The person on the cellphone just repeated exactly what the cashier said. No Hello to the customer or apology about the confusion or nothing. Then the woman on the cellphone proceeded to say, "If you want to stand there all night complaining about the return you can", then hung up. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Something needs to be done about this..

Family Dollar store manager

The store manager treats her employees like there stupid. Has made the bathroom doors with keys and has accused regular customers of being thieves. Told her employees to pick and choose who to allow in the bathrooms. If they're gross deny them access to the bathroom. As she has accused her employees of being thieves. Shes accusing anyone and everyone of being thieves. She flirts with customers as shes married. Please do something. And the employees walk into a pitch black parking lot after they go home. They have one light out in the parking lot the works. Not even the sign lights up at night. So, please for the safety of the employees fix them. And do something about that store manager.

Family Dollar the general manager

My name is aonesty oneal I currently work at family dollar store #619 in jacksonville fl I would like for someone to reach out to me asap because the store i'm working in is very unprofessional the manager cut my hours for voicing my opinion so now i'm like working 3 days a week she has gave all the hours to the manager mrs cent and her grandson yes one of the managers and her grandson works at the store also the general manager who cut my hours has both of her 2 nephews working there and she makes sure they get their hours and I think it's very unfair because your not suppose to have family working in the same store as you she threatened my job in text messages I still have them im one of the best workers there she even wanted to make me management but i'm in school so she couldn't but she doesn't even speak to me bout not one thing i'm removed from the team groupchat so anything I need to kno the other manager has to tell me when I need to know when I work I have to call the store cause she has me blocked from group texting she is very ride and nasty doesn't know how to treat people

Family Dollar unethical behavior/did not honor clipped coupon

11/17/2019; 1:45PM Asist Man/Cashier Analis. I had a clipped coupon of $5 that expires on Nov 20. She claimed system cant accept it because it's not for that store. I asked for a manager She said there were none. Called manager on cell who said it couldnt be accepted. I told her you just lost a customer for $5. Called to get name of assistant manager and she said she couldn't give me her name and hung up on me. I called 2 more times and nobody answered. Very unethical behavior.

I asked Assistant manager for Rep number because she said she couldn’t give me her name. She asked what I wanted it for and I said because I was going to write a complaint to the General Manager on the website just as she suggested I do and that was when she hung up. As if the rude treatment wasn’t enough at the store, she had the audacity to hang up on a customer. My question is, what qualifications does an Assistant store manager need to have in order to work for family Dollar because it seems the bar seems quite low. I have been shopping happily at this Dollar Store since it first opened and have used clipped $5 when you spend $25 a million times and never had this happened. It’s the ONLY Family Dollar I shop at, unfortunately, it will be the last. A company that can’t honor a coupon that is theirs and has no qualms in losing a customer over $5 obviously does not need my business. I will tell everyone I know of the horrid treatment Family Dollar gives their customers so all those I know and love will not have to be treated with the disrespect I was treated. And word of advice, It would be great if you guys hired people that were actually fluent in english and understood the language well, especially if they are going to be in a position of authority.

Family Dollar returns

I bought some rugs there and some of the rugs were too small. I have been to the 4 times to try and return. It's either I should come back at 3pm or the manager is not there at 3pm. First why state time you returns and second I got there after 3pm and they have to give me another excuse that the manager is not there. Attached is the receipt, i have the end of this month to return and I will hate to have to waste my time again.Really frustrating.

As we stood in line Linda approached the checkout then told the customer in front of us she doesn't know if anybody's there if we don't ring the bell but yet had the Bell behind the counter then when I and my wife approach to check out realize we forgot mustard and ketchup which is literally in the aisle behind us wife stepped aside to go grab it I put the container of bleach on the counter so give me just one second she got to grab something Linda then decides to say I'm going to check out this guy behind you because he's ready I don't know why people come to the check out if they're not ready had an attitude the entire time is not the idea of a retail store to impulse buy as well As come in for

Family Dollar manager

Hi my name is Julie Gonzalez. I live in the area of this new family dollar and since opening I shop there at least once or twice a week. Usually I have an okay experience but that is not the case this past Tuesday. I went into the store and the moment I walked in I could hear an employee talking about another employee that was due to work at 4pm that day. The two employees talking were loudly discussing that same employee stating how she doesn't work and what she's gonna be doing when she gets arrives. At first I tried to ignore the loudness of the employee's. But as I kept shopping it kept getting louder and louder. It was only a few customers so other then the employees the store was quiet so everyone can clearly hear their conversation. At one point I mentioned to my fiancé how unprofessional they were being. One employee overheard and rudely said "these customers need to stop ear hustling ". ( meaning I was intentionally listening to her conversation) instead of responding and continuing my shopping I decided to cut my trip short and head to check out. When I got to check out I requested to speak to a manager. To my surprise the manager that was called was the employee that was the problem. I stated to the manager how unprofessional her behavior was and she stated she only gets $11 an hour and she doesn't care if I called in to make an complaint. I asked her for corporates number and she did not provide it. I understand that the area this family dollar is in is not the best area but I feel it's so unprofessional to deal with a Manager that's suppose to represent the company in that manner. This manager used a ridiculous amount of profanity. I also feel with the amount of time those two employees wasted talking to each other they could have been cleaning up the store which was extremely out of order and clustered. I feel like having a manager like this will make a new store fail and someone should look into who they have running their store. My experience this week at family dollar was by far the worst experience at any store period. The manager was acting in a form like she was ready to fight and she was trying to intimidate me. Family Dollar customer service lack professionalism and show no respect for the people they service.

Friday, November 2019 at 8:00 pm. The cashier (supervisor) addresses me as "Baby." I asked her, "Please don't call me baby that's for my companion only." She says, "I call everybody that honey." I asked her again but she continued to insult me. I looked for the supervisor not knowing she was the person I was looking for and when I spoke to the other worker she began to call me honey and says, "I'll give the number to corporate but your complaint won't do you no good." I was so furious me and these two ladies were arguing in front of other costumers at this point I didn't make a purchase. I'm not her man, woman, child or on a personal level with her to call me these names. The intelligent way is to address a person according to how they introduce themselves and the relationship you have with them. The supervisor says, "I say that out of respect" but if I person asks you not to and it angers them why do it? If you don't know how to address a person Mr, Sir, Mam or Miss is appropriate. Humility goes a long way, respect and compassion goes hand in hand. You have to know how to target the need of the costumers and keep them wanting to return. With out costumers you won't have a job to go to. Family Dollar is one of my favorite stores to purchase school supplies and household goods but I will never step a foot in this one as long as these two women are in there. If you have audio you can pull the tape and it will verify everything.

Hello I went in today to purchase some items girl at register was to busy talking on her cell phone ordering pizza. Other lady was just standing there not attending us. Girl on phone I believe her name was Crystal Ramirez because that's what she told pizza person then got on register but still talking to other lady about there pizza order then I ask her
Excuse me can you check me out then she has attitude with her face then turns around gets on phone again with pizza people and then has other lady continue to ring me up. I was not the only one there. There were other customers behind me.

Family Dollar racism

I know I live in small town but they seem to get the worst employee now I okay that they don't like people of color but you know this job you can run across every kind of person from time to time. But the new employee they have is racist him and the Hispanic worker laugh every time I come in saying that I think I all that, but I do nothing to them I speak to them every time. But I heard the Caucasian state that he hates our kind and she said she does to I have made complaints in past but I should be able to go to the store with out having to go miles out off the way. They discuss with other customers how that hate people of color.

Family Dollar policy for employee vs customer rights

On November 11, 2019 I went to the 180 Mclean location I filled my cart with 97.00 worth of merchandise got to the register and realized I forgot my wallet which was left on my dining room table. I clearly said to the cashier " I am so sorry I will be right back please hold my merchandise."
I left the store at 9:10pm arrived back to pick up my merchandise at 9:20 maybe 9:25 the latest. I said I'm back where is my stuff she blatantly said " oh I put it back". I said what, I told you I was coming right back-and I said where is the supervisor who was standing right there before and after I left . She said well people do this all the time- I said you should not put put a basis of people do this all the- there should be some type of protocol in place. Meanwhile she never looked at me she talked to me while writing very disrespectful not using any customer service skills.
Let me tell you something in order for your store to be successful you must apply good customer service. The supervisor was rude the stock was rude the cashier was rude. Nobody smiles or even tries to help you . Now I live only 6 min away. I work for the City of Yonkers for 39 years.
I also work for the Mayors office. My name is Roseanne Bannister, 34 Wolffe Street, Yonkers NY 10705. What I'd like to see is better customer service at this location. Just because I was treated very disrespectfully and my job is to help everybody in the City of Yonkers I feel I must take this complaint further. Please address this issue immediately. Family Dollar individual person

My daughter and I were shopping on 11-9-19 when the female worker was on the phone with someone. There had been a spill of some kind and was no signs up at all. We then went over the spill really not knowing it was there just saw some white powder stuff not knowing what it was. She then began to speak very rudely about us and another couple that had also crossed over it. She was just very rude in what she was saying about us on the phone to the other person. Curse words were also used. I think there should have been signs or she could have told us nicely about the spill so we would have known what was going on. I felt she was just so unhappy to be there I think people like that have no place in an environment like that! I did get her name and its Mela Martinez from the store in Levelland, Tx 79336.

Family Dollar employee

Today I went into my neighborhood family dollar where I shop frequently never had issue until today I walk in to get household supplies and an employee by the name nicole Carroll told me I have to leave MY purse upfront I'm confused like why do I have leave my belongings upfront it's not a shopping bag from another store because if it was I usually will sit it upfront with no problem.. so I ask why do I have to leave my purse up front? Her response was because its large so I ask why no other family dollar suggested it? I'm completely appaulld and embarrass she made it seem like I was a thief which I'm not I came there to spend my hard earn money... I feel like because I was african American and it's a low income neighborhood she assumed that I will steal...that's not how you should treat your customers... oh she has a large bag she gonna steal no I have a large bag because that's what I like it's my style of fashion...is this a new rule assume a customer is gonna steal because their purse size or skin color ? she also was very rude and nasty .. I did leave out I feel like I'm not gonna spend my money some where if they cant trust me and why would I leave my purse up front with someone I don't know? I'm highly upset about this situation ..pls retrain your employees..
