Family Dollar Manager

Hi, I’m doing this all anonymously as possible… I am the wife of a worker who works at the seminole Oklahoma Family Dollar, my husband, has been at the Seminole location for approximately three months. He absolutely loves his job. He enjoys going to work. I have never seen my husband as happy with a job as he’s been being a Family Dollar he loves working with people. He does great working with people. I want to start this off by saying that my husband has only had one day off since being there and that was yesterday. He has been worked so hard being there. He is an assistant manager and he’s worked really hard for that position and continues to work very hard for that position. He is miss treated. He is talked down too, and he is used for his ability to work really hard. His boss I have watched her talk down to my husband multiple times. He is singled out every single day he goes into work. His boss will send him a text message of things to do and that’s not even the problem. The problem is is that when he gets there, none of the other workers have done anything if you guys were to just watch film for a couple of days, you wouldn’t realize how much he does for this company he bust his [censored]. His boss is unappreciative of him, shaves his hours, because she does not want to get in trouble herself for overtime. He’s worked favors for people, and nobody does favors back for him. He puts up at least 3 to 4U bolts a night at least. She singles him out because he’s a male the other employees also talked down to her because they seen her do it so then they think they don’t have to listen to him. She doesn’t work hardly ever she doesn’t help him. She doesn’t get anybody to help him. He does it all by yourself. I heard multiple customers come in and say have you ever had a day off you’re always here you’re only the one working everyone else just stands behind the counter, I’m so fed up with my husband coming home upset over a job that he loves because his boss doesn’t want to be a boss. He has voiced his opinion and concerns to her and all she says is this year never happy with anything. My husband takes pride in his job and his store and he does believe that it needs to be nice looking presentable for people. She is allowed him to work off the clock multiple times just for her to get some help without pay I mean it would literally just take somebody to come and watch film for even just a couple of hours and you’ll see yourself she doesn’t come in to help. She doesn’t even answer my husbands phone calls when he calls her with a problem or anything. My husband has learned her ropes his rows and everyone else’s ropes. He knows everybody’s job they’re in and out, because of the lack of her not wanting to do the job. She won’t even answer to her boss. My husband had to call her to get a hold of her to tell her to call her boss and her response was I’m not jumping to her beck and call. His boss Amy doesn’t even talk to him she talks to other employees to tell him things won’t answer his calls or texts. Al someone has to do is watch and you will see. She schedules herself with 3 and 4 days off in a row. The other employee who works nights with my husband has been sick for 3 days and she has made him come in with no choice because she doesn’t want to work. She’s a lousy boss.. I have messages from her stating that she let him work off the clock. She doesn’t care about him and he does above and beyond for family dollar I just want him to be appreciated. No one knows that I am writing in and I’d like to keep it that way. I don’t want him to know or her because I don’t want her treating him any worse than she already does. Just please watch this store for a couple days and you will see what she does… her name is Amy Prentice..

Family Dollar Manager

Young manger shows up at the register said she's taking card only and then proceeds to say I don't have to do this but I will the store wasn't crowded and we said no worries well wait for the guy she proceeded to say we rolled out eyes at her she was irrate screaming at me for my duration in the store it was embarrassing loud, and uncalled for sad.

Desired outcome: The neighborhood has had similar complaints against this particular store and this particular female manager we are signing a petition to remove this young lady and hire more professional workers I'm a woman in my 50s.

Family Dollar Worst store ever

Every time I go to the store near my home it’s very cluttered and there are boxes and pallets of product that needs to be put away that is blocking all of the shelves. I can’t get my cart through most places due to this so I have to leave it unattended to go get the items I need. The prices marked are never what they charge. The manager is rude and complains to customers about her job and other customers. If I point out the item is marked less then what it’s ringing up as she becomes very rude about it. This store needs a complete overhaul! I’ve been a regional manager and if this was my store everyone would be fired!

Desired outcome: Items to ring is as marked, staff to be professional, and the store to be CLEAN

Family Dollar The family / dollar tree in Bruce selling some of the dollar items family dollar prices

They doesn't have much dollars item to sell than it mix up with family dollar items every time you go in this store they done raise the price than racks with clothes and products all in isle than got about 2 are 3 ungrateful casher working never smile and be having mean look on face they dollar/ family store not like Pontotoc store bruce is nothing

Family Dollar Employee deliberately overcharged me

Today, a Family Dollar Cashier deliberately overcharged me for an item that was ringing up $1…. I am a regular Customer at this store and often buy the majority of the sale and clearance items. This employee (TEE) knows this from seeing me on the regular. I purchased 15 of this particular $1 items on yesterday. I went back to this morning to purchase 5 more. First, she (TEE) lies to my face and tells me that the item was NOT $1. Scans it and said “it’s not on sale” so I said “it was just marked down yesterday”. I knew she was LYING so I said I would buy the item anyway. She rings it up (2) of them and say “oh that one is $1” so then she tells me that the other (3) are different sizes so they are not $1. But once again she was LYING! I said I would buy those as well anyway. She scans (1) and say “hold on” it was obvious that she went into the system and overrides it making that (1) particular item $5 instead of $1…

When I got out of the store, on the receipt you can see that each item has the same exact sku number so there is “NO WAY” that 2 out of 3 was $1 and the last one was $5! She DELIBERATELY OVERCHARGED ME!

I went back in the store and asked to speak to the manager. She tells me “she’s not in today”

So I went to another local Family Dollar and asked that Manager if that was possible and she told me “NO”! The Manager at another store refunded me the $5 and let me repurchase the item at the price I knew that it was $1!

I don’t even know this Employee personally. Just know her face from coming in the store regular just as she doesn’t know me personally but know my face from buying lots of clearance items. This is Ridiculous!

She OVERCHARGED me as a CUSTOMER and THAT IS WRONG!

Desired outcome: She should be FIRED for cheating a Customer!!

Family Dollar Short changed/ mean attitude

On May 14th 2023 at the new combo store on maple ave in Zanesville ohio my 72 year old grandma and myself went in to grab a few items at about 5:15pm for mothers day and the cashier at register #2 was getting a line so she paged another woman to help with the line anyways the woman came to help she opened register #1 and was saying "I can't never get nothing done because people can't keep the line down and always paging me to help with register" she came up with a attitude when she did open the other register and when my grandma and myself went to check out my grandma gave her a 20.00 and the receipt said her change was supposed to be 8.20 however she gave my grandma 6.20 and shorted her the 2.00 so when I asked if I could speak to manager she said "I'm the manager in charge right now" so I told her she forgot to give my grandma the other 2.00 and she said oh ok and had to open her drawer to get my grandma back her 2.00 that she shorted her she never apologized or even said sorry if she has done this to my grandma I could only imagine how much she shorting the elderly people in their change which is wrong also to add she had a attitude the whole time she was checking us and the people behind us out she was complaining that they was short staffing and she's tried of being called to register every 5 minutes I did ask her for her name she wouldn't give it to me she said she doesn't have to tell me but I did noticed her badge did have a ASM above where her name is and I seen it started with a J but couldn't see the rest of it so I'm bringing my concern to corporate because this is not how you do business if you going to run a store atleast make sure your employees isn't stealing money from their elders and I'm sure my grandma wasn't the first or last she has took change from we shop there weekly but after this happen sadly we will be shopping somewhere else because a employee should never have a attitude and take it out on customers and especially short changing elders that's stealing just because they are elderly doesn't mean someone can take their money and expect them to not know that they was being short changed while the employee pockets the money so please get this handled the right way so nomore elders get their money took have a good day

Family Dollar Store manager nasty attitude

Went to family dollar last evening around 8pm with my 73 year old mother who got a cart and was pushing cart and item accidentally fell into her cart from shelves
My mother tried to remove and put item back on shelf when store manager in nasty attitude told her “ move out of the way other people trying to get through, yet no one else even in the store.
Secondly the store manager had her very young daughter in the store with her being anxious with customers walking in and the store manager telling her daughter “to get her [censored] over here” in front of us and other customers.

When we left my mother asked her where the nice girl is that works their and store manager says “are you saying I’m not nice” my mother replied no I think you have a bad attitude for a store manager and not nice every time I come here and the store manager told her she was banned from the store and to never come back again to shop there.
Also wasn’t first time that store manager having her daughter in store running around store while she is working and her attitude is very poor for a store manager and I’m wondering how she even got that position with her nasty attitude.
Thank you but I’ll shop at and store from now on.

Desired outcome: Remove from her position and have someone else as store manager who knows how to treat customers

Family Dollar Falsely accuse of stealing

5/11/2023 I was in family dollars store at store no.[protected] highway 42 in rex,ga. around 1030 am shopping, when I came to the counter I purchased a 5 dollar Ballon, I come in that store all the time, I ask the manager could I go and put the Ballon in my car she said no because the middle age man that was putting out the product said I was stealing that I had put something in my pocketbook, I pour my whole pocketbook out and I told the lady do you see anything in here that is stolen she said no.she callsaid he do that all the time and she was going to write him he came to the front and apologized, but that hurt me so bad I am 65 years old never been to jail and I spent 73.12 in that store, I am thinking about getting a lawyer, for been humiliated, embrass, for been accused like that I will never go back to that store,thanks Ms jones

Family Dollar Safety concerns

Today May 11, 2023 at 2.10pm,

You have employees ignoring the safety sign not to smoke near the propane tanks. This is very dangerous and should seriously be addressed. Just because they don't want to be in the sun and on their phones, they shouldn't put not only themselves in danger but other as well. I have provided pictures and a picture with the time and date as proof of what I am saying. Please address this, thank you.

Desired outcome: A Serious reprimand and maybe some more training since they failed to do what is right to begin with.

Family Dollar Paper plates prices marked incorrectly

I went to the Family Dollar store in Rural Hall Store # 07507 on 05/09/2023 at 19:14:54. I purchase item # [protected], 7 in 32 ct paper plates. showed on shelf as 1.00. I was charged 3.35 for them.

I contated the store # [protected]. The yound ladt was informed of the price. Stated that the what the scanner picked up. I stated that is hig for them and they were on the $1:00 place. You can yountact corporate office on that. I stated I sure will. She stated ok I have customers in the store and you can contact Corporate Office. So here I am.

I work hard for my money, and I know it has been published that Rural Hall has been fined for over charging in the past. I will be taking them back to another store with my reciept for a refund.

Family Dollar Cashier

I shop at the family dollar on West belvedere Ave. And there older cashier she is the only old one on the register. It's always something with her I'm tired of spending my money there and she has something to. say her attitude stinks really bad and she should. Not be a cashier if she can't handle customers the mangers don't care because they are already under staff it's also alot of drug activity going on I over herd her saying to a lady that she was high of of perks it's a type of drug pill

The 2 men that's a little younger are the o e who. are running drugs out of there but of course no one listen or does any investigation

Family Dollar No air conditioning in the store

Family dollar has no air in the store and makes shopping miserable. I visited the store yesterday and asked why so hot and stated the haven't had air for years. I don't see how any worker could be happy serving customers. The store number is 06156 on 1201 e meyer blvd. This store is located in the inner city serving people of color. Please take care of the community and your workers.

Desired outcome: GET SOME AIR, IT WILL BE IN THE 80'S AND 90'S THIS WEEK. IF NOT I WILL LET THE LOCAL LEADERS AND NEWS ORGANIZATIONS OF THIS PROBLEM

Family Dollar Goobers were full of maggots/ parasites

Made a purchase for goobers on 4/29/2023 at store number 9249. I consumed the goobers on 4/30/2023. I left the box on the couch seen something crawling on my couch, it was a parasite/ maggot.. I then went to throw the box away and that’s when I looked inside and discovered after eating the whole box it had maggots/ parasites inside of it.. Called to complain and went back to the store the issue was never resolved.. Then I became sick with diarrhea and vomiting.. You have an product on your shelves making people sick is completely unfair.

Family Dollar Stocking nut, snack section, 2months empty

2023, March, April. 2 months and there have been no nuts in stock. I have enquired about it multiple times and was told, trucks come in on tuesdays. Really enjoy those for a workday snack. I don't understand why they are not supplied, empty section 2 months?

Family Dollar Fraudulent marking of un-picked-up on-line orders as picked up and pocketing the money instead of refunding it

WATCH OUT FOR FAMILY DOLLAR - THEY ARE CROOKS!

I made an on-line order for about $20 or $25 and as it took a while to get sent to the store I bought the items (elsewhere) instead, and then simply abandoned the order, expecting I'd be getting a refund. Family Dollar did not send a refund and they didn't send email to find out whether I was intending to pick up. Instead they simply marked the order as 'picked up' and kept the money. Its hard for me to believe that any business, much less one of this size, would think they could get away with keeping the money people send them for un-received goods. DO NOT TRUST THESE FOLKS and NO NOT ORDER FROM THEM ONLINE UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO SPEND YOUR TIME TRACKING WHAT THEY DO WITH YOUR MONEY.

Desired outcome: I should be getting a refund instead of having to go through hoops trying to find out who I should speak to to get some answers

Family Dollar Store Manager in Exmore VA. Beth

Beth has very nasty personality and unreasonable to deal with, she conduct and handling herself so unprofessionally that she had one of the employee (Courtney) crying in front of customers, this incident happen yesterday 04/26/2023. She has her husband in there working and he is not employed with Family Dollar. Beth use profanity in the store around customers, almost all the time. The store is so clutter, boxes everywhere that has not been unpack, where customer stumbling over boxes trying to get to the merchandise in the store . She recently post something on Facebook that, could bring danger to the store employees by posting a picture that she got off the store camera, of a suspect that may have rob the store. I witness her using profanity towards one of her assistant manager, on 4/23/23 she told the employee to get the f...

out of the store, I felt so bad for the employee who was trying to talk to her. Why do she stay so late in the store after operating hours.

Family Dollar Store policy

I recently went to my local Family Dollar in Dwight, IL #4022, as I was waiting in line, a customer paid and told the cashier to "keep the change". The cashier asked the next customer in line if they wanted the change, as she said she was unable to keep it. I completely understand not keeping the extra money in the register, as to keep the drawer even, but this cashier threw the money in the garbage! This is the second time I have seen this cashier throw money in the garbage! I don't care if it was just pennies! Why would you not just leave it on the counter for another customer to use? I don't know if this is a corporate policy or not but this is completely ridiculous!

Family Dollar Night store manager

I went into store #03664 on 4/21/23 and attempted to buy some Dr Peppers that were on sale 3 (12 PACKS) for $12. The store had Dr Pepper, Coke and Pepsi all together so I assumed that all of the products were on sale. When I was checking out, the cokes rang up at 7.95. I'm a senior on a fixed income; therefore, I requested that the cokes be taken off. The manager of the store was very rude but I still purchased the 3 (12 PACKS) of Dr Pepper along with a total bill of $46.61. My elderly crippled husband was with me. As we tried to exit the store the manager screamed at my husband telling him to get that basket back in the store. I explained to him that he is scheduled for back surgery next month and he said, "Well, he didn't have any [censored]ing problems getting the basket out here." I also explained to him that I have four ruptured discs in my neck and back and was not able to lift everything and I am also elderly. He obviously didn't care and instead of trying to be helpful to us, he just stood there saying "[censored] You and don't ever come back into this store." I have never been so insulted in my life and his behavior was unacceptable. He said many other insulting comments. He obviously has no respect for his customers, especially elderly crippled customers. I went back into the store to get his name and he told me but kept screaming at me to get out of his store. I was so upset that I forgot his name that I forgot it by the time I got back to my car. I told him that I was going to let a manager know about his temperament and his bad language used toward two paying customers. I will let everyone in the community know of his uncalled for behavior. I had no idea of how this store treats their elderly and disabled customers. On the positive side, the cashier was very kind to the both of us. Due to this I will never go back to another family dollar, EVER again which is unfortunate because I have been a loyal customer for many years.

Desired outcome: I would like for that manager to apologize to myself and my spouse. He should definitely be reprimanded or fired for his behavior.

Narrative

Incident Description
The light skin manager on April 20th, 2023 verbally and physically assaulted me. I tried calling the police officers is in time, however I was unable to get an officer to meet me at the time of the incident. Because I have a disability, I cannot fight anybody or do anything. So unfortunately I just walked away. However, this manager whose light skin had a ponytail in her hair short. I've reported her to her family Dollar corporation and also I'm filing this report for proof. She allowed another customer to verbally and she tried to physically assaulted me as well. I'm not sure who the lady is because she was not wearing a badge as an employee, but this woman violated my rights as a disbaled person and she didn't have na issues with me. She had na issue with someone else. I'm hurt because of this and I need this report approved so I can send to the corporate office.

Desired outcome: No outcome. I filed a police report and want the individual to be fired because she hit me.

Family Dollar Customer service

On April 18 2023 I purchased a 15 dollar igloo cooler with intentions on taking it with me to a get together that evening. I never made it to the gathering so the following day I decided that since I didn't use it I would return it and get some needed items with the returned money. First when I got to the store I confronted what ended up being the only employee at the time and she didn't know how to do a return so she called her supervisor and was told that it would be like 5 minutes before she would return. So I wait and walk the store picking out several items I would purchase after I was refunded. So after about 20 minutes the one I guess was on the phone showed up so I walk over to her and handed her my receipt and the cooler and she sucked in her teeth and says to me "I ain't taking this back" I said "excuse me? Why is that?" She then stated "because it's filthy" mind you the cooler had been sitting in my truck since purchased and hadn't been used. So told her that and she proceeds to call her superior and takes pictures and what not and so I'm still waiting for her to get a response. Finally after about 10 minutes of silence ishe gets a response and she is conversing with her superior all the while calling me a liar and looking down on me. Well this is where it gets good. She says to her superior I couldn't resell that to anyone. So I say I bet that I could go pick one of the shelf that was just as if not "filthier" so she says do it. And I did! The first one I saw and didn't have to open it. It had a dark smudge across the top of the lid that looked like what was inside the one I purchased. I even quoted your return policy and she pretty much told me off. The employee in question was named "Ronica" and the store in question is 1717 N. Pace Blvd. Pensacola, FL. I think "Ronica" could use some customer service classes and I truly hope that she is not anyone with a supervisor title. I would appreciate a response to this as I will be posting this on every site that will listen. [protected]@gmail.com

Howard, liberal return policies are designed specifically to encourage people to buy things they dont know if they're going to need based on the ability to return it if the need doesn't materialize. such policies tend to work in favor of the store over the long run which is why they continue to persist in practice. As far as who has final say about a return, policy is one thing, but to a well trained retailer it is always customers such as Charles that must prevail because such customers can make the denial of a legitimate return cost the store far more than acceptance thereof. There are times when you must give up on a battle to win the war.
