Hours
Almost all of these stores only issue 180 hours a week to run a small town store. This is not enough and can lead to hostility between employees and customers. The average store operates 105 hours a week. When means for 8-10 hours a day a single employee is on the clock to do all the work and run register if you ever been in one of these stores you know it's TRUE since you always have to wait in a long line and they simply do not have a 2nd associate to help reduce the lines. Associates are always mad as hell in those 8-10 hours a day by themselves cause they are somewhere trying to empty work carts of freight before the next truck arrives which according to store policy has to be stocked in less then 24 hours of arrival how exactly does that happen when the associate is constantly being what feels like harrassed by customers who want to be checked out. On average a store process 12 transactions an hour each transaction may usually only take a minutes but can go up to 3 minutes if a customer has a full shopping cart. People should boycott these stores during hours when the store has single person coverage for the entire store and should not end until these store start issuing 240 hours minimum to operate.
Possible rude and argumentative manager
Hi, my name is Tara Harriel and I visited your store for the first time at 1010 Perryhill Rd in Montgomery, AL. Upon entrance, there was no greeting. Once my daughter and I went to check out, the manager (no name tag) got rude and argumentative because I asked was he okay because he was nice to the white women in front of us. He approached me as if he wanted to get in my face and I had to ask him 3 times to gone on. He still kept being argumentive so I told him I was calling corporate and he said "I don't give a damn about this job, I make 65, 000 a year and they can fire me today if they want to. At that point I left.
Harassment
Mr. Tyler is the manager at the Family Dollar Store, located in Bridge City Louisiana, ZIP code is 70094 Every time I go in the store he calls the cops to try and say that I'm stealing and when the cops get there they don't find anything on me because I'm NOT stealing that is very embarrassing for him do that to me! While working the checkout yesterday a 60-something year old woman wearing a face covering and hollered from 20 ft away asking where the salt and pepper shakers were. I was checking out a 20-something year old woman not wearing a mask so all I could do was ask from the register did she want pre-filled or empty ones cause they are on different aisles. She hollered back but I couldn't understand what she was saying from 20 ft away and through a mask. I just hollered back prefilled at the end of aisle 32 empty at the end of aisle 27. She went and got the prefilled ones and came back to the checkout and started talking about something I still could not understand what she was saying while I still was checking out the 2020-something year old woman without any face coverings. The woman I was checking out said if your face covering works then you shouldn't have to worry about anybody else. The old woman said no one is talking to you, the young woman said it certainly sounded like it, the older woman said shut up and mind your own damn business, the young woman said I was minding my own business [censored], the older woman said shut up or i'll beat you damn [censored]. The young woman said go ahead you crazy [censored]. At this time I just finished running the young womans card and her transaction was complete and the young woman left the store. Now it was the older woman turn to checkout so she was close enough for me to understand her and she complained about family dollar not requiring face mask in there stores with such a spike in covid-19. I told her family dollar is only requiring associates and vendors wear face coverings, not customers. I quickly checked her out and she left.
Family Dollar/dollar Tree website is the worst I've encountered in over 25 years of online activities!
I call C.S., and that is a useless proposition. I'm done shopping at these stores, besides, Amazon sells the items cheaper, or at least the same price, having zero website complications, and, better C.S. representatives.
Manager
I was in store # [protected] on route 321 in prestonsburg, ky, july 16. I had a horrible encounter with the manager melinda at 12:50 pm & a male associate, whom did not have on on face masks. They both were in the middle of the end aisle, just standing there talking. I needed an item that was only a couple of feet past her and stood back about 8 feet and...

Today I went to family dollar located on 190 oak street and there were three employees there. The female had the mask under her chin the entire time. The male behind the counter had no mask at all. The third male at the cashier had mask only covering portion of his mouth and his nose was uncovered. Customers are required to use masks but your employee?

On Sunday, the staff in Family Dollar were not wearing masks, did not require customers to wear masks and were not enforcing social distancing. Customers were standing right behind me in check out line, coughing and not wearing facial protection. Staff were not addressing this issue with customers at all.

I went into family dollar sat 7/11/20. When all of all my items were cashed the cashier called me a male prostitute. Family dollar in buffalo NY on Kenmore ave is unsafe. At Family dollar in Silver Springs Nevada. I (A Black man) was standing in line at cash register with no employee to ring up products. An employee however was standing right behind me and wouldn't help. Only when a white fed ex worker got behind and waited did this employee say, "oh John will be right with you"... Like I was invisible. 5 minutes pass and now the line has 5 people. John never came so yell in the store for John to come help customers. The female employee still by the cash register and doesn't and John never came to the front. I ended up having to leave the store so the white customers could be helped.

They need to change the name from Family Dollar to flea market. I am a new resident in the area and never in my life time seen a store so poorly managed. This corporation should be ashamed. Yesterday I visited the store to purchase toiletries for my home. I arrived at the store at 9:00am on 7/7/2020 and the store was closed. This is not the first time I...

Please help me understand store operation at the Family Dollar store on 4602 E Ponce de Leon Ave, Clarkston, GA 30021 #3475. The information on the internet states opening hours are 8am through 9am. However, for little over a month the store has opened "whenever on feels the need to work." I understand we are in a less than normal environment with Covid-19...

I have been shopping at family dollar since it was built. With everybody being so rude and hateful, maybe you should of let the store run itself. I was in there about a week or so ago, to get some plastic bins. They were marked for 10.00 on the shelf. So I go to check out and they scanned at 14.00. Well you know being that I had worked in the business. I...

I experienced the worst customer service today at Family Dollar. The cashier Janet was more interested in having a conversation with her co worker than acknowledging myself and another customer that were patiently waiting in line to pay for our items. I waited in line approximately two minutes as she looked at me and continued to GOSSIP with her co worker...

A white female employee of Family Dollar who works mornings is consistently rude in how she treats customers. Stephen Demarco is a manager in [protected]@store #4088. Im not only deeply saddened, but disgusted that his employer allows him to carry out leadership duties under the influence. I myself tried helping him quit, yet today (seeing him smoke, disrespecting me when I said id report him) was last straw. Does family dollar not have a no drug policy??!!!
