Family Dollar Cashier yelling at me throughout the store

I went to the 31st S 35th West store I am a regular at and spend a time of money at last night. The air quality was 134. I walked from my house and was having a hard time breathing. The black woman at the register screamed at me throughout the store that I needed a mask. I told her as per the Salt lake county health order I am exempt. I have a handicapped permit on my vehicles. I have environmental COPD and asthma from the air quality. She screamed at me and told me to step back when I asked her if she could just ring up my purchase so I could leave. She told me to step back so I did. Then she continued to scream at me told me is her name on the door? No call corporate on her she didn't care and if I am exempt from the mask mask mandate" I could could take my [censored] out the door and wait on the curb for my other party" if im exempt im not welcome. I could sue the living [censored] out of your store chain for discrimination on a mandate that is not law and exempts me. Not to mention I am a regular and spend about $300 a month in there. I want a call back on what you are doing to educate your employees on how to act in public to customers and about state mandates and who is exempt and that they have no right to enforce it. My name is Marchelle Baker [protected] or I'm taking my business elsewhere and blasting you guys on social media. Btw, Utleg voted against the mandate yesterday. It's tyranny and I won't be talked to by anyone I'm spending money I worked my [censored] off for Covid cleaning rooms after students and staff for. You need to educate your people.

Desired outcome: Education for employees and an apology

You can sue, anyone can sue for anything. The question is, would you be successful? As long as the business has a "masks required" sign on their door, you would not be successful. I hate wearing masks, I feel like I cannot breathe, but I realize if I want to shop at certain stores I must.

I worked in the legal field for many years. Again, anyone can sue anybody for anything. The question remains: will you be successful or will the suit be thrown out.

Family Dollar Long time customer

I have COPD, jay store manager at 1816 Nicolete Ave. will not let me shop when every other store does, even though I cannot wear a mask. I will get a lawyer and sue you if this issue cannot be resolved, and I would like to resolve this, rather than sue you. my phone number is [protected] please call me. Also the prices are different from the tags in which jay the store manager says he fix but it's been 3 months. jay also refuses to go by the tag price which is against store policy.

Family Dollar Store Manager

There is a new store manager at the Family Dollar who is prejudice against any other race or ethnic background besides her own. I have personally have been trying to get rehired there for months now and I never get called for an interview or anything and have visited the store multiple times and she is seemingly never available. Yet, her store always need new people and is always hiring however, the only ones she hires are people who look and speak the same language she does.

I understand having a soft spot for your people but ignoring the rest and not even scheduling interviews based of my skin color violates Family Dollar "equal opportunity employer" motto. This is beyond professional like I have never been giving a chance and she has her employees lie on her behalf .
The same week I do my application and don't get a callback but the run around a young Spanish guy gets an interview and hired yet, she has no time to interview the black woman? Yeah, okay. She does not need to be a store manager if she is not giving everyone a chance to be hired and if it doesn't work out then she can do as she please but refusing right upfront is prejudice if not completely racist.

Family Dollar store #03797

Desired outcome: An interview to be hired or replace the store manager entirely.

Family Dollar The manager. I don't know her name, she's a tall blond lady.

I went in there at the end of a very busy and long day just to pick up a few items. One of the items I needed was some disinfectant spray. I saw they had some for a dollar. I picked it up, pulled the cap off and gave a couple skorts just to make sure that the nozzle was working. I had the experience in the past of getting something home and the nozzle is broken so I sprayed it into the cap. Out of nowhere, psycho lady appears and addresses me as if I'm 5 years old. I'm 60 by the way. Just young for my age. She was extremely condescending and said we do not spray aerosol cans in the air. That is not something we do. My reply was well I do because I've had the experience in the past of getting something home and it was broken. She was very concerned that I was not going to buy it, even though she could clearly see that I had put it in my cart. She continued to follow me around the store harassing me. She was extremely rude, called me names, made horrible accusations against me and judgments that were baseless as she didn't even know who I was. I figured she was having a bad day so I said I'm sorry you're having a hard time, but I don't deserve this, and I would appreciate if you did not take it out on me. It which point she got the other manager Enfield who wasn't even there at the time of the incident. She started screaming at me as well. I told her that I am buying the aerosol can, there are no other customers in the store so I don't know what the issue is, and I continued to shop. I asked her politely to please refrain from harassing me and please leave me alone to do my shopping in peace. She kept following me around the store screaming at me. At one point she went to the front cashier. I came up to pay for my items and she told the cashier that I was not to be waited on, I was not to be served, I could not shop there and I was not welcome there ever again. Unbelievable! All because I tested a nozzle and refuse to to be verbally assaulted. I had to waste an hour of my time that is very precious. I had a stroke last year and it's not very easy for me to even get around sometimes. Today was one of those hard days. All I wanted to do is get my items and go home. I ended up paying three times as much because I needed certain things so I had to go to CVS. When I was in CVS, the girl there saw that I was upset. And I told her what happened. She told me that it happened to her, in fact 30% of her customers are people who she kicked out of her store at Family Dollar. Now I don't know if there's some kind of psychological issue, but you are losing customers by the droves. I am guessing your store has probably very little profit in spite of the demographic here. I live in an apartment building where most people would find it convenient to go there, but they also have told me they were assaulted by this woman. So they choose to go out of their way somewhere else. You have lost way too many customers to warrant keeping these unprofessional and clearly disturbed individuals on your payroll. I cannot afford to have another stroke. My blood pressure was through the roof after I left. If we open back up after our shutdowns, wouldn't you be more concerned about bouncing back from this horrible economy? Do you really want to keep someone on staff who is turning customers away and abusing them? If that is your intent, I cannot see how you're going to keep your store open at all. You've lost pretty much most of your customers because of this Disturbed employee base.

Desired outcome: I want to see these women fired. Hire people who are more interested in serving the customers and making a profit for your store. You might also want to issue a very public apology.

Family Dollar Unfair employee treatment

It's been a weekly occurrence for me to arrive on time in the morning only for no other coworkers including managers to be there or answer their phone. Once the manager finally called me back an hour and a half after my shift should have started I notified her I made other plans for the day. The manager then told me I am not terminated but she no longer wants me to work for the location she manages. Her name is Rosa Rodriguez. She also refused to give me any information on who to contact regarding going forward. I'd like to also add that when I was just working on Christmas Eve, after 6 hours of work I asked the manager for a break finally to which she said I could just go home for the day if I wanted to take a break. I would like to know there are multiple consecutive days I have had to work without any break. I don't know who to contact from here on out regarding this matter

Family Dollar Unethical Behaviour

Mr. Philip Prims who is the store manager at family dollar located at 980 main st. sanford, me 04073. Is living with his girlfriend Amber Archer, who is employed at the same store. I find this unethical and shows favoritism towards this employee.. sexual contact should not be seen by customers or employees. I along with other customers have witnessed kissing and touching, or always outside infront of the store on company time smoking cigarettes whenever a customer needs help, its takes them a minute or two to get their help. we live in a very small town and all the gossip being said about the two employees is overwhelming some town folk including myself have started shopping elsewhere which has make it alittle harder for some people since most town folk around here do not have cars and have to walk.

Desired outcome: someone to get transfered to another store..

Family Dollar check out service

Approximately 3:00 pm on 12-13-21 I was waiting to check out at Family Dollar in Etoile, Tx. 6 or 7 people behind me and one in front of me including me had a basket full of your merchandise. I saw a clerk putting up merchandise and ask her to get another checker because the girl checking us out was slow because her customer dropped things on floor, etc. I was completely ignored. I know the manager was working with the clerk putting up merchandise. Just letting you know.

Family Dollar Why the store manager or assistant manager was so rude

I went into Family Dollars last night and purchased some items well whenever I left out I didn't notice until I got home that I had lost my car keys. I went to the store with my husband so I wasn't in my car but I had my cards attached to my keys. Well… to make a long story short I called around to the employees that night to see if anybody turned in some keys and one of the girls I contacted told me No. So this morning I gets up to call the store and the store manager or assistant manager begins to get rude with me and nasty whenever I asked about my keys. So why did she tell me to call back this afternoon and whenever I begin to tell her I had to go to work and needed my keys she told me it's nothing she could do and hung up in my face. She was rude and very disrespectful. So I got my husband to call back and she told him she had found my keys and that they were in the safe. So why couldn't you have told me the same thing you told my husband with your sexist [censored]. It took him having to call back up there to ask where was my keys. The Family Dollar store on 500 E. Church Street in Atmore Alabama needs to do better.

Family Dollar Discrimination and wrongful accusation

On Fri December 10th around 11am my friend and I went to Family Dollar on 801 9th St in Modesto, CA only to be turned away at the door and wrongfully accused of abeting a crime. When I told them we had nothing to do with any alleged criminal activities they said they had video evidence and one of the employees said she personally saw me which is a lie for 2 reasons. 1. There are no cameras on the side I approached from, 2 we had only just met them at the door to the store. I asked them to show me the video evidence and they refused to do so and told me if I didn't leave they were calling the police. I still refused to leave because I knew if the police arrested me I could not only sue them but the police would have to search the video for evidence. However in my impatience I decided to walk directly to the courthouse to file a complaint. The manager and the 2 employees she managed were very rude, racist individuals. I wrote to their CEO and contacted customer service many times and have not been able to get in contact with any HR representatives. I plan on suing for libel, false accusation and discrimination.

Desired outcome: I would like to speak to a customer service rep and would like the manager and all involved parties to be disciplined

Family Dollar Poor food selection

To whom it may concern:

I shop at the store Family Dollar store located in Calhan, CO. The staff is nice but the food selection needs improvement. Definitely not a health food store.
It's usually sold out of dairy products and spring water which I must buy because I have a cistern instead of a water well. It would cost me 70K to drill a well. More about foods: You're missing natural peanut butter you have to stir like Adams or Smuckers also, fresh veggies, fruit, meat, didn't find any waffles or REAL maple syrup ... Just cheap sugar syrups with high fructose corn ingredients. Thanks for reading,

Ray

Desired outcome: Carry better foods

Family Dollar Customer service and managers, cashiers

Upon visiting family dollar this evening at 7:00pm, casheirs were congregated at register 4 and were twerking, loud profanity, abusive when asked a question. When I asked to purchase tobacco products the manager cursed at me and customer behind me for commenting that we were ready to check out and someone needed to ring us up please, she went to locked cabinet pulled down draw gate and said tobacco products are closed for the night. This is a regular occurence at this store and the only pleasant part of shopping there are the security guards. This is horrible behavior to exhibit in front of small children and elderly patrons. I will never visit this store again. The Mondawmin store.

Desired outcome: New management, experienced casheirs, cleanliness and appropriate professional address to patrons.

Family Dollar I was assaulted by Family Dollar employees

I entered the Family Dollar at 1932 E Magnolia Avenue in Knoxville, TN., around 8:20 pm on November 18, 2021. I was under the impression that the didn't close until 10:00 pm. I was looking at the trash bags for about 5 minutes and the employee came and stood beside me. She stood there for a minute and then walked off. I then went to pick up some tape and proceeded to the register. I looked up and she was right behind me. I told her that she didn't have to follow me, I have money. She started talking real smart and I told her to cool out. Another young lady walked in and the male employee said you have one minute. She said what if I need two. He got mad and snapped. He then apologized, came from around the register and hugged her. He went back around and proceeded to ring the other person in front of me. The lady behind said dang you hollering. at me, talking to the male. The lady employee thought that it was me and went off on me. I kept it together because I needed the trash bags and tape. I swiped my credit card and grabbed the bag. Not thinking that my card declined. The male employee grabbed me and told me to come back. I went back to swipe again and it declined again. The female employee snatched the bag and told me to leave. I asked to try again and let me call the card, she said no. She began yelling and screaming. She picked up the broom and kept pointing it at me. She started hitting the hand sanitizer dispenser and cracked it open which made the piece pop off hitting my leg. She banged on the metal detector and kept yelling to the top of her lungs. The male employee came snd pushed me out the front door. She called the police and I waited for them. They took the police report and I will be picking it up tomorrow. My telephone number is [protected].

Family Dollar Small heater

I bought an item and the product was defective, and it didn't work. I tried to return it for money back or an exchange
The store manager tell me that I couldn't do either because it was a seasonal item. So I'm very disgusted because I have paid fot something that doesn't work and I'm stuck with something I can't use. This is so unfair. How would you feel if you brought something that didn't work and you not only lost your but you also have something that's a piece of junk. I very very angry.

Family Dollar Pricing

I am an unusual person, I save all of my receipts so at the end of the year I can total up the sales tax I spent for an added deduction. I live in a rural area and shop at Family Dollar because it is convenient, the closest Wall- mart or grocery store is 75 miles away. I was recently made aware of an error when I was checking out. I complained and in an attempt to correct the overcharge, I was actually charged twice for a product when it was all said and done and a credit was put back onto my card.
I have pulled out all of my receipts for the year and spent a lot of time going through my Family Dollar receipts and discovered that Family Dollar practices overcharging customers! For example Fritos (a product I purchase frequently) is regular shelf price 3.89, when on sale they are 2 for $6.00. However in going through my receipts I discovered that it doesn't matter if you purchase them on sale or at regular price, they scan at $4.00 per bag. Another product I purchase frequently is the 6-pack of Pedigree canned dog food ([protected] 13.20z). Shelf price states 7.59 however when you check out the product scans at 9.50. Unfortunately these are not the only products that scan at a higher price than marked or advertised. I have been overcharged over $200.00 this year with your deceptive pricing.
I believe that I will no longer be shopping at Family Dollar and I am sure that the community would like to know what is taking place at the store when they check out.

Desired outcome: Correct the errors
