On Monday 10-02-2020 My wife Lou Ann Daniels and I took the 10:00 AM ETN bus from San Miguel de Allende destination Guadalajara. Before the scheduled departure time I approached the driver with a friendly hello as I wanted to conform that his bus was going the Guadalajara, he mumbled something then glared at me in a very hostile manner at which point I walked away.
As my wife and I were boarding the driver ran up demanding that my small carry-on-bag which normally fits under my passenger seat be stored in the baggage compartment under the bus. When I attempted to explain to him that the bag contained my disabled wife's medicine and fragile items we purchased in San Miguel de Allende and that no other driver demanded I store my small carry-on in baggage he became extremely hostile and took a combative stance.
We have enjoyed using ETN in our travels throughout Mexico for the last two decades and wish to continue however It is very disturbing to encounter such a rude ETN employee as our small carry-on-bag was never a problem under my seat.

I witnessed disgusting behavior from the driver who was unpleasant and agitated toward you and your wife who was in need of help due to her disabled situation. As a matter of fact, at one point while in the bus I asked your wife if she was OK. She said yes, "just a bit shaken by this situation", knowing that her medication was not allowed to be by her side during the trip. After that I returned to my seat and the driver approached me and said (still very agitated) "That man talked to me in a bad way. I'm just trying to do the right thing and that bag could move on the bus because it had small wheels."
My opinion is that even if the driver had a bad day but , he was very wrong to let his anger out on you. Particularly because you are an elderly couple and it was obvious that your wife was visibly ill. I think the driver should apologize to you and definitely should have taken all his into account.
An important note is that the size of your carry-on was much smaller than most of the passenger bags on that bus.
I hope ETN will make an apology to you and somehow compensate you for this unpleasant situation.
