Engen Petroleum Bad client service

On yhe 28th of december 2020 at 9:29 I visited engine garage in brighton road cape town. (engine rally motors). I poured petrol worth r100 and as I was about to pay, I found that I had forgoten my walletat home. I stay a few blocks from the facility. The perol attended advised that I cam come back as they know me but I requested to speak to his manager as I didnt want any trouble where I can explain and request if I could leave and come back just to fwrch my wallet. The whight lady I spoke to was pluntly rude and told me I could not leave the premises. And I asked what waz their protocol cause I do not mind calling the police so they van acompony me home and come back. I woild gladly leave my car there. She told me I can do ehat ever I want but I will not go untill I pay her. We wenton for a while untill one of the customers that was there reqyedted to pay for me. I am distraught as a customer known by the petrol attended that I had to be treated this way. My son was there looking at the comotion. I am emotionally distressed that this manager would treat their customers in a manner that she did. The employees even told me to just go and come back as she is a rude person but I did not want to get anyone in trouble with their job hence I requested to speak to her...

I had always had a good service at engine but for a manager, the staff is even much better r then she is.

Engen Petroleum Service

I have always thought the country has glazed racism and gender equality, this is until i visited Engen Graig Joss Motors to fill up my car, how can a normal business owner only allow 1 male forecourt staff and 1 female cashier who risk her life to work as cashier/forecourt attendant to work overnight? this is pathetic and savage, is this the true reflection of "WITH US YOU ARE NUMBER ONE" slogan? let us not allow wealth and greed blind our humanity, perhaps it's time for this garage to be given to someone young and thirsty for success, someone who will also understand that it was not our choice to be black, we are also GOD creatures.

Engen Petroleum Staff attitude

Hi
I am writing this complaint with a big disappointment regarding the bad service that I received from one of your petrol attendants at your Mackenzie branch in Benoni
The attendant by the name of Johannes Molefe (not sure if he gave me his real name but I can point him out) came to assist me after I had been waiting for a while without help.

I told him that I wanted to fill up with R300 but clearly he was not listening because he was busy conversating with the other customer in the next vehicle. He immediately left me and went to that same vehicle.

I then called him back to tell him he put the wrong amount and that he must assist one customer at a time and finish but he answered be back with an attitude saying that I am trying to act like a white person. He did this in full view of his colleagues.

He even went further by saying that I am behaving like this because I am too educated but I don't know what I want

This kind of behaviour was uncalled for and very rude. I was shocked that an attendant can talk to a customer like that and still see nothing wrong with it.

The
service was shocking and its a very bad representation of Engen as a brand. I am not happy. I am not sure if the guy has ever been to any customer service training because this is totally unacceptable

I have been a loyal customer of Engen for years and I definitely don't deserve this kind of treatment. What upsets me even more is that I use that petrol station a lot because its closer to my workplace

Please address this issue

Engen Petroleum Disgusting runner / cyclists water station

Good day,

On the 22/11/2020 I embarked on a 10km run with the Waterfall Engen garage (KZN) being my halfway stop for a bit of water.

The water available to runner/cyclists and general public is absolutely disgusting to say the least, and unhealthy for human consumption. The area has wet rubbish that looks like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks.

This is an insult to the community and reflects poorly on Engen fueling stations.

Very disappointed.

I do have pictures to support my complaint.

Regards,
Tom Bronner

Engen Petroleum Engen garage tahero environmental compliance issues, noise, unruly behavior.

Hi

I live next to a 1 plus Engen garage at Witpoortjie Corlett Avenue. I am not happy about the noise levels caused by customers during the day and at night. I am also not happy about the ATM installed directly behind my unit as it poses a security risk, just last month the garage was robbed during the day. I have complained to the Manager to put measures to mitigate these issues. Currently, they don't have Noise prohibition notice boards at entrance/exit driveways. The customers come to the garage and have parties, play music and nobody does anything about this. The is a Sasol garage a few km and they have rules around noise. The security company affiliated with garage told me that they cannot do anything about the customers that rave their cars, playing loud music because the owner of the garage has not given them written mandate to take action. I have been working from home and it's been hell because of the loud music, chatting noise, unruly behaviour, ATM noise from the garage. Please take action the are people in the complex that work shifts, working from home surely the are regulations that the garage needs to operate within considering that it is in a residential area.

Engen Petroleum That they robbed me my petrol by putting air.

At Eaglenest Filling Station in Dunnotar on the 27.10.2020 around 18.00 I have put R100.00 petrol on the Renault KWID 1.0 2020 model which is very light on petrol. When it's one bar after reserve tank R100 goes to full tank. So I was still having one bar and I asked the petrol attended that why is still empty? He said Renault is giving us problems but it will go up on your way. I call the manager and asked her that is this possible? She explained things that I don't understand, I told that it doesn't work like that bcos it's not a first I put R100.00 petrol and I know where it supposed to be. She changed and gave me a stinking attitude. I told her what u guys are doing is wrong coz av took a picture of km + time and petrol gages when I raised a complain. Owk I went to drop my guys about 4km still it's not going up and I came back with the same complain. She was worse with her attitude and tell me that she didn't manufacture cars and their tanks and why me? I asked her to prove it to her by putting R100 again on the same tank by using a different petrol attended. He did put it and it stays where it supposed to be and I asked where is my last R100 petrol? She said I can do whatever I want coz knows nothing and I asked how come bcos u are the manager here and as a customer I am not happy? She left me there standing. To my surprise they did that to my Toyota bakkie bcos I put R200 at the same time. When I was complaining they left bcos they wanted to knock off early. They send me a whatsaap picture of the bakkie gages having the same problem with no petrol in it? I went inside and asked her how is this possible with same issues in this garage? Are got the same stinking attitude where now my 12 year old daughter asked me t get a Manager. I told her she is and she was shocked? They are robbing customers petrol which is very dangerous bcos what if I got stuck during the night with petrol without any help? My email address is [protected]@gmail.com [protected]. I am very cross bcos I put my petrol always in that filling station. My R300.00 is gone just like that bcos I must also put petrol again tomorrow morning in the bakkie. I'm going to the same tank and put same amount to prove it again to her.

Engen Petroleum Poor or no service

Today the 26th of October 2020 at about 14:15 went to engen garage the one situated at Margaret Mncandi previously known as Victoria Embarkment because we had a punchure on the vehicle that my partner and I were utilizing, we waited for about 5 minutes no one attending to us then another vehicle pulled to the bouser next to the one we were parked then a guy called Zweli who is the petrol attendant came to assist the driver, we then informed Zweli that we are the ones who came first, he then replied by saying he didn't know that he thought we were just parked there, we then asked him why would we park next to the bouser when parkings are available, he then said we must leave him he's attending to the customer irrespective of the fact that he came after us and was helped first, I then asked him, wat are we if he is saying that he is attending to the customer, can someone please explain to me if you are at the garage to pump the wheel, are you not a customer, and can someone please deal with this guy accordingly because his attitude stinks.

Engen Petroleum Terrible customer service

I went to engen fourways (william nicol dr, witkoppen) and regretted why I went there in first place. The petrol attendant by the name of robson gave a horrible service and a bad stinking attitude which made me realize that bad service to customers its what he normally does, and he always get away with it. On my arrival he was helping a customer and I was behind, upon finish with the customer and he was suppose to service me he went and have a chat with his collqs, and left me waiting. I went to him and ask why he didnt come back to help me he told me that other petrol attendants will assist. I was furious because he is the one who saw and at the back of my mind i'm thinking will come back. Long story short he ended up helping and there was word exchange between me and him, and he said if decide not to service me what am I going to do about it? I spoke to his manager whos name is lefa and he promised he will talk to him, im not satisfied or have hope that anything will be done since his manager was watching while we where having work exchange and he didnt do nothing about it until I requested to talk to him. Please pass this to engen head office for further disciplinary.

Engen Petroleum Poor service at engen ubuntu

I was at Engen Ubuntu in Khayelitsha I needed 3cans of oil today at 14:15. I was told by a petrol attended that if I'm not going fill petrol I can go inside and get the oil myself she left and talk to her colleague. The service we are getting in that Engen is very poor Engen should just say that is a petrol station not a service station because they don't service you if u need other services than petrol.

Engen Petroleum Employee abuse

Once again complaining about staff treatment at Randpark Ridge Engen.
I saw for myself today that the clocking machine is 26 minutes fast.
The management refuses to set it right and its been over a year now.
The staff have to clock in 30 mins early and if they don't they are penalised for ' being late '
The reason they wont get it corrected is because a call out fee will be charged.

Update by J Wride
Sep 25, 2020 1:46 pm EDT

I have complained several times about the woman who run the Randpark Ridge Engen but have never had a response
She treats her staff as if they are sub human
She tells them to work in the car wash or she will fire them
Yesterday my friend was told she was working night shift and so she did not want to go out during the day (public Holiday)
She went to work at 6PM and was told to go home as the roster had changed and she was no longer working that night

I have got most of the people in our suburb to boycott the garage and will start posting on social media daily if I do not get a response from you

She also employs illegal workers in the car wash so she can pay them below minimum wage and fires them outright if she is unhappy with them

This woman is a disgrace to the human race

Engen Petroleum clicks points

Today I went to Roodekop N3 Truck Stop (Engen) to fill up R500 petrol knowing that I would have gained 70 points. My card was not swiped and the attendant said they have a network problem. It is for the second time this happens at the same garage. I drove from Klipportjie to Roodekop just for points and as a result lost 70 points. Why is it that we don't get told before we fill up and have the Clicks signage for points removed as this is actually not happening at this garage

Hope I will get feedback shortly

Engen Petroleum Employees abuse

Here I go again complaining about abuse of employees.

I have been supporting the Engen Randpark Ridge for 26 years, I know all the staff and they always talk to me about their concerns.
They have now been put on a 24 hour week with the pay accordingly.

The night shift this coming Sunday and Monday is 2 ladies working together,
how dangerous is that.
I have told them to refuse but they are scared of losing their jobs.

Last week an employee was fired outright with no disciplinary action being taken.

The lady who has the franchise does not care for her staffs well being, it seems Engen does also not care

Engen Petroleum they almost had me killed and now won't replace my tyre

Good day,
I urgently need someone ti help me ragarding an incident that occurred on the 7th of November. I was filling up at the Engen in Site C, Khayelitsha. As one attendant was filling my car up, one decided to put pressure on my tyres. I assumed he noticed something, so i let him carry on. I drove out and 2 minutes later, hardly out of the filling station. I heard a loud noise from the back of the car. When i check my mirror there was smoke coming out. I went to inspect the car, my tryre had burst. The guys at a nearby tyre shop checked and my tyre was completely damaged. I put on my spare and left the car at the garage and organised myself a lift to my destination. I went back and luckily the attendant had notifiedvhis superiors about what had transpired. I was attended to by a rude supervisor who was very unhelpful. I requested to speak to a Manager Anele and he listened and told me that he will talk to the owner and get back to me. He never called and I've been going to the garage but it's always story after story. He won't let me speak to the owner Hazel Mngoma (so he says) This lady is forever not there and wont take this seriously. Firstly I could've died had the incident happened on the high way and secondly i just need them to replace my tyre. Im so angry and frustrated at the way they're treating me. PLEASE get back to me!

Regards

Engen Petroleum safety

Good day

On the 17 November 2019 around 08:00-08:30 pm, I went through to Zakariyya Park Engine garage to fill petrol. Upon doing so, the attendant advised oils needs to be put, which i agreed

This morning on my way to work, while driving i noticed smoke coming out my bonnet, i stopped and opened . Only to find the oil cap was not returned. Please refer to the attached pictures . A break down came to my aid

i contact the branch and all that can be said is sorry, please replace the oil and bring the receipt we will refund it, its so easy . if i had been burnt alive, Engen would of just said sorry ? I am disgusted at the way things have been done

Engen Petroleum bad service and compromised security

To whom it may concern, please be advised that this complaint will go to hello peter and Twitter is its not treated urgently.

I went to Engen Siyabonga Convenience Centre in Main Reef 18:00 pm 23/07/2019.

The person who assisted me did not inform me that their speed points are not working... I was only informed after pouring R500.00 petrol to my Kia Rio HD77MT GP (RED) that the speed points dont work. I did not have R500.00 cash and I was disapointed in Engen's service once again. The guy should have informed me about this before filling the petrol, and i would have went elsewhere...There even a Shell garage up the road.

I was then told to go withdraw money at the only ATM that you guys have on your little garage which is Nedbank and I am using ABSA...I refused because Absa will charge me morethan R100.00 for a saswitch. A guy call Emanuel Mbele who claimed to be the assistance supervisor was also useless and acted like I was the one at fault or as if I am the one who caused the problem. I was forced to drive to A Total garage with one Engen petrol attendance which made me and my girlfriend very uncomfortable.. we didn't even know the place. The guys could have hijacked us with ease. I felt so powerless and my was only advised to pay R450.00 meaning R50.00 was for petrol which I feel like it was a slap on my face.

I added KM on my car only to get a R50 discount. The inconvenience and discomfort caused to me and my girlfriend was never taken into consideration.

I want to be compensated for all the trauma you guys put me trough. My girlfriend was in a rush to go see the mother before she goes back home (Mpumalanga) which was not possible as I was forced to drive around looking for an Absa ATM because your workers are not well skilled.

I feel like I was held hostage and I am willing to take this matter further. I also do not think I will ever use any Engen garage in my life and I will also advise close friends and family to do the same. My girlfriend already advised her friends an family

Engen Petroleum camel black

I opened a box of camel black, the first cigarette I pulled out was in half, separated at the filter (see attached images). This is not the first time I have come across such an issue. I highly suggest you fix this issue or I will be forced to go public on the matter. I spend a lot of money supporting your brand and it's utterly disturbing when you do not keep your standards to an ordinary norm. Broken cigarettes in a closed box is a sight a customer should never see, I would be understanding if this was the first time, but as I've said this is not the case.

Kind regards,
A very upset supporter.

Engen Petroleum bad service

Hi
i went to Engen garage next to VW Autohaus Centurion on Lencen Ave and requested for R100 petrol and the guy who was assisting me poured R168, saw the amount through the window and asked him why that amount he said he made a mistake then started giving me attitude and that he also doesn't have money to paid that amount and i can't pay only R100 told him but it's his mistake not mine and whom can i talk to to resolve this matter inside he said no 1 can help with that issue, i went inside with him and there was a guy at the teller thought he would assist but he was useless as well told me there's nothing he can to i must arrange with the guy who was assisting. You can also refer to the footage 22:00 driving a Blue Toyota Corolla Reg: JSV 489 NW. Obviously i didn't want this amount to be deducted from his Salary but his attitude was so unprofessional and bad.

Engen Petroleum complaint about toilet for ladies

I am a regular customer filling petrol at above mentioned garage. Petrol attendants always very friendly and also very helpful. They know me very well when I drive in. But when I want to use the toilet the cashier, lady, I have to asked for the key to the toilet. I first have to pay R2.00 to be able to use this toilet.

I am asking myself why have I to pay R2.00 for that common piece of toilet paper I had to take with and when I come in there it is so filthy. Footprints against the walls, mud tracks of shoes on the floor, water on the floor. When I visit other Engen filling stations it is always neat and a pleasure to use the toilet. It is also locked, but it is for free.

Another Engen filling station in Swartgoud Street, Ridgeway, you can barely go in there. It looks like a workshop toilet. No, please I cry for a better service.

Engen Petroleum eunice, cashier at the quick shop

My family and i have been using the services of the above service station for many years. We have built a professonal and friendly relationship with the forecourt staff and we have never had any reason to complain until this evening.
As usual we filled petrol for R600 and while the petrol attendant was filling, we decided that we would take a chance with a lotto ticket. I approached the window to buy a lotto ticket, the lady who was serving at this counter was assiting customers inside the shop completing lotto cards. I stood waiting for service for +- 10 minutes. When the lady (Eunice) did come to the window, she asked me, "what are you waiting for now, talk, what is it that you want?" I was taken aback because of her tone and also her attitude. I then suggested to her, "should you not greet first because ive been waiting for so long?" Eunice then turned away and continued helping the customers that she had completed the lotto cards for. When she returned, she took my cash and gave me lotto tickets which i refused to take, saying that this is not what i requested. I refused vehemently and she took the tickets back and returned my money. It was at this point that Eunice began to verbally abuse me by using vulgar language at me and swearing my mom in her absence in isiZulu. Eunice had no idea that i am isiZulu and therefore swore the most rotten of swear words at me in the presence of many customers.
I then went out onto the forecourt and requested the dealer's contact number of which i was furnished with, i tried calling and i eventually left a voice note and sms.
Strangely, the forecourt staff were talking amongst themselves, saying how is it that some customers must wait outside the shop to be served with lotto tickets and other are given the priviledge of being served inside, because the common practice at this service station is that customers buying lotto tickets must wait at the designated window outside the shop and not inside. All spoken in isiZulu.

This sad and unfortunate decision of us wanting to buy a lotto ticket is that Eunice has brought the Engen brand into disrepute as she was acting in the capacity of Engen Petroleum. The dealer could experience a drop in his shop sales because of the attitude and poor customer service rendered by Eunice. Unfortunately i am not sure if any soft skills training will benefit Eunice because she chose to use the abusive language in isiZulu thinking that i would not understand. She made a decision to ignore me at the window and to be rude without any thought of apologising. My suggestion is that Eunice is placed on a performance acceleration programme to afford her the opportunity to learn about customer centricity and also for her to secure her much needed job.

I would deal with the forecourt staff at this particular service station on any occasion as they are more customer focused, friendly and professional.

Engen Petroleum fuel price

Good day, on the morning of the 7th of July 2018 at exactly 08:13am I purchased some fuel at the Engen Garage in Glenhaven CNR KASSELSVLEI& PETER BARLOW ROAD GLENHAVEN BELLVILLE SOUTH 7530 and i purchased exactly 1L of LRP95 and the price is R15, 43 per litre, I was charged R15, 45 and I also purchased 1L of Diesel 50PPM and the price is R15, 33 per litre, I was charged R15, 35, I then went to the manager/supervisor/cashier to complain, he then replied by saying it's not his problem. Now really, is that the way to do it, I mean we getting robbed in broad daylight this is so unacceptable and unfair, I mean it's 2cents they pocket for every litre purchased, it may not sound like much but work it out over thousands of litres, there we go. THIS IS SO WRONG
