Employment Development Department No payments & no resolutions to my case

There is no customer service when you call the 800 numbers that edd provides. Here is why I say what I say. I applied back in march 2020 and filed unemployment but did incorrectly the first time so I reapplied and filed under pua. Called in june and edd representative said my file was going to be fixed & combined that I would hear from them via mail. Never received correspondence. So I called in july to followup only to be informed that even though they had received all my identification information that they were working on fixing the problem. I was told that august 10th I would receive a call never did. I call today on august 24th and was told that he could not answer my whys and that my file had not been fixed. This is unprofessional way of conducting business and not good to tell lies.

I've been at it since April. Now it is October. I've done everything they asked including being verified 2 times. I have also certified for 4 weeks now and still nothing, Today I have a EDD envelope in the mail, I'm not holding my breath that it is a card. I probably need to verify my identity again. The first time took 4 months. Every time I call, and get through, the person on the other end gives me different information and instructions. No answers, just more run around. 6 months is too long to go thru this, but here I am.

Employment Development Department I cannot reach anyone at edd. Status of claim

To whom it may concern:
I have tried to reach EDD for over 5 weeks now. I called every number available to me:
[protected]
[protected]
[protected]

The last letter I received from EDD was the Customer acct number to register online on 7/16. I tried setting that up and it says that the info they have is not the same as what I punched in. I called Tech Support to no avail. I have called everyday early and later, no one answers. Hence, I cannot see the status of my case?

I received a letter on 7/16 about a debit card, as well. I know my claim has been filed b/c they sent a notice of claim filed on 7/16. I need to receive my benefits as soon as possible. Any level of communication would be appreciated. I feel like I am being ignored. I need a response, please.

Employment Development Department Federal cares act pandemic unemployment assistance

I registered with EDD for Federal Cares Act Pandemic Unemployment Assistance on July 20, 2020. To This date I have not received a Customer Account number and I cannot certify for benefits I am due as a result of the governments decision to shut down the economy. I have been trying to contact EDD for assistance in obtaining a customer account number sense the first week in August and it very clear EDD only offers a promise to provide assistance while No EDD representatives every answers the phone. EDD offers no means to remedy it's failure to follow through with it's obligation to provide me with an account number.

4 days after my last post I received my customer account number and am receiving my pandemic assistance. It took a month longer then it was suppose to have. I have tried to help a few friends who are in the same disposition as I am. There are many reasons for denying a claim and some of the critical questions on the online form can be misunderstood, like dmv test, and if answered incorrectly could cause a denial of benefits. read them carefully. My friend was denied and exactly why is unknown. 2 1/2 months later he was mail a notice he could certify. When he did he got nothing. The only option he had was file a new claim and waiting to see the response from edd.

Ok I finally got the papers to file with the EDD to certify my claim, 13 individual forms covering 26 weeks came on the same day. I haven't been issued an account number to do them on line but it's a start.

Employment Development Department No Payment

I was approved for unemployment benefits at the rate of $222 per week as of June 28th 2020. I have certified for benefits twice and will certify a third time tomorrow (08/09/2020) and have yet to see a payment. However, drug addicts in my town are getting their payments, never paid into the system, and are bragging about it. When I call I get a recording that states "due to high call volumes, we are unable to assist you at this time". I lost my job when my client passed away and now am unable to find a new job due to COVID 19. This is absolutely ridiculous! I am going to lose my storage full of Family antiques because I can't pay it. I went for 3 months with hardly any money, and when I finally did get some money it all went on past bills. I got caught up just to get behind again. My house payment was due 8 days ago and I am frustrated. At least I get food stamps but come on! People who work for the government have jobs, yet don't care about those of us who don't have jobs or a way to pay our bills. This includes the federal government!

Employment Development Department Wrongful Disqualification of Benefits

I left my full-time position where I was on a W2 on February 15, 2020 and became self-employed March 2, 2020. I filed a claim with the EDD and was disqualified. Due to the Pandemic, the EDD opened up eligibility to self-employed persons on 1099 under the PUA and CARES Act which I should qualify for both as I am unable to operate at a 100% capacity and have been impacted due to Covid-19 however, due to my previous disqualification they disqualified me again. Prior to my second disqualification the EDD asked for my proof of income indicating I made a certain amount or more the week of February 19, 2020 which I provided them and it was over the amount they specified in order to avoid disqualification which they wrongfully disqualified me anyway. I have been unable to get in touch with anyone from the EDD since April 28, 2020 when they opened up filing for PUA to ask questions or have someone actually look into my case as the disqualification is an absolute mistake.

Employment Development Department PUA

I filed for PUA in the middle of June as an independent contractor. On July 11, 2020 I received an award of PUA notice. On July 13, 2020 I received a denial of PUA notice. There was an appeal form that I filled out but there is NO ADDRESS to send it to nor is there an enclosed envelope. I cannot get through on the phone for over 2 weeks and I do not know what to do. Time is running out on filing. I have 30 days from the date on the notice. It's already been 27.

I am out of money, I have no work prospects because I am a part time Pilates instructor and I work with senior citizens at varying facilities. My type of work is not allowed and the EDD is playing with my life.

On my award letter I was not given an EDD account number. Will anyone even read this? Please assist me!

I don't know who to contact, I need help please, I have called all the numbers provided and can never get through and when I do, I am given information, which I follow and still I have not received any correspondence from your office.

I applied on 4/5/2020, never received anything, I then re applied on 4/15/20, up to date I have not received forms from your office. I was able to speak top someone on May 27, 2020, who advised me that there was nothing on file and that I needed to mailed identity confirmation to (EDD P.O. BOX 2530, Rancho Cordova, CA 95741) As instructed I mailed copy of driver license, Social Security Card and Paystub with an ECN number I was provided at the time written on each page I sent. This was sent certified mail and it was received on May 29, 20, up to date (6 weeks) I have not received anything from your office. Please understand that I need $$, I have worked my whole life and when I finally need and ask for help my requests get ignored. I don't know what else to do, but to write and continue to call in hopes one day someone is available to take my call.

I will continue to call [protected]; [protected]; [protected] and [protected]; none of these numbers are helpful, I can never get through. Therefore, I am writing instead in hopes that someone will be able to answer my inquiries.

Someone, please let me know what/where I need to send to have my case move forward. Someone please communicate with me.

Employment Development Department Weekly claim pending no information given

Hello,
Last week I submitted my weekly claim benefits for unemployment; it has shown pending since. I was already approved for benefits. I have been checking daily since this has happened just to see if something was needed, nothing. I have re-checked my claim form to see if something was done wrong, nothing. I e-mailed a representative and have not gotten a response. Lastly, I have called hundreds of times and have not had success. I need this money and have no idea what to do.

Employment Development Department No benefits in 13 weeks

My name is anthony diaz I am a life long california native and have been in the work force 28plus years. In all this time I have never collected unemployment. The one time i'm forced to, I am met with extreme financial hardship due to the waiting 13weeks for any relief. I was sent a award letter of zeros with a temporary ssn number. Was never sent any i'd verification paper work. Upon reviewing I attempted to contact edd approximately 100 times a day for two months on the 11th of may I finally got through only to be told I would receive a letter to verify my identity. The letter I received did not contain a copy of the form I was to sign and return. I emediatly sent copies of my w-2 and dl. Still I have received nothing. I have now enclosed my 3rd copy of extremely sensitive documents through the mail to verify an id that you say was compromised somehow? It seems to be an archeic was to verify an identity, put the very thing at risk, subject to even higher risk. The bottom line is that I have waited 13weeks without one cent of what i'm entitled to. It has long since past the point of financial hardship now rest on the verge of life and death. I am at the door step of loosing everything I have worked 30 years to attain. How many of you could service 13weeks with no income? Please help I only want what's entitled to me. I have exhausted all resources. And have done nothing but fulfill my part of the equation.
I beg you please send my money today. Thank you sincerely anthony diaz

Employment Development Department EDD rep rude, apathetic, violated ADA law

YES. It is very possible for so much misfortune to happen to one person at one time. On Friday, 6/12/20, an EDD rep (Deanna) returned my call about my Pandemic Unemployment Assistance claim. My question was very simple. Clarification about PUA. I wasn't demanding anything. I stayed courteous and professional with her. Explained how/why I went from UI to SDI and now PUA. I was laid off (applied for unemployment) followed by a double cancer diagnosis (oncologist put me on SDI) then a year later just when I was applying and interviewing for jobs to get my life back, COVID-19 happened (applied for PUA). Yet she spoke to me as though I was working the system. I had been through enough struggle the past 2 years — I didn't ask to be laid off, I didn't ask for cancer, I didn't ask for a pandemic to happen — the very least this woman could've done was to treat me as a human being. With common decency, empathy, and RESPECT. Her demeanor over the phone was not only so uncalled for and unprofessional, but also to question my motives for looking for work while still recovering from cancer is against the law per ADA regulations. So now I'm wondering if rudeness is a requirement to work for the EDD. I mean, really? Most of the country is suffering from economic hardship beyond our control, through no fault of our own, and this is the service we get from "civil servants?!"

Employment Development Department Unresponsive

Due to covid 19 my work was forced to close 3/17/20. That same day I created an account and filed an unemployment claim. I received a confirmation number. A few days had gone by and I never received an email stating my edd number and that they received my claim. So I sent an email inquiry as I couldn't get through on the phone. I received a response a few days later saying I had to wait 10 days. So I wait the remainder of the 10 days still nothing. So I email again. A week later I receive a response saying that my social doesn't match my email. Because I cannot get any customer service I create a new account file a new claim. I get paid for a week as they're going by the date I filed the new claim. Since then I have emailed to them over 15 times and still have not received any response, not one. My work has done their part to submit my last day of work information. Still nothing. I am owed 6 weeks of pay, my bills are behind, i've requested multiple times to speak with a supervisor or just get a phone appointment. No response. I work very hard and contribute my hard earned money for this type of treatment. I would just like someone to call me back to get things straightened out so I can get paid for the time I forced to remain at home and not work.

Employment Development Department Accounting / identity integrity department

I have been unemployed since march 18th due to covid-19. I applied for uei benefits march 19th as of yet have not received payment. I received a letter dated april 2nd requesting documents from the accounting/identity department with a list of documents to submit to prove my identity. I mailed them from the post office april 6th, 2020. I again received the same notice that was dated april 2nd on april 17th. I once again mailed the requested documents at the post office april 20th. I had no response so I faxed the documents with the letter edi sent dated april 2nd to [protected] and received fax confirmation that it was received on may 13th. I have called the accounting/identity integrity department that is only open mon-fri 8am-12pm everyday for the last 5 weeks [protected] with no success on getting through. I call customer service daily as well, all I am told is they are not equipped to answer anything pertaining to my claim and I must speak with the accounting and integrity dept. They have also sent 4 emails to so that I can get a call back within 4 days, I have not received a call back since the first email 4 weeks ago. I have emailed through the edi portal 4 emails first one dated april 9th with no response.

I do not know what else to do. The stress and mental anguish is beyond measure. I have depleted the little bit of savings I had and am no longer able to sustain myself or children because of this. I am a single mother and working was my means of support. I am desperate and need this issue to be resolved.

Employment Development Department Loss of my ids

My name is Reiko Wozny (SS: [protected]-7848
I have filed my UI employment in CA on March 29th. As of today, my status has been pending to disqualification regardless I have been submitting
my IDs and claims over the past 2 months. At the first time I received my reply from UI saying the following (see below)
My concern is; I submitted my IDs to the proper department on April 14th according to your request. Then I have sent one again in May.
Calling to CA UI is nearly impossible, whether I get cut off after waiting 2 hrs or not reaching at all, therefore I have no way finding out whereabout
my status nor finding what is the issue. Thus I had to assume IDs are the problem. I sent twice by fax and mail before and after this reply.
I believe my IDs are accumulating on someone's desk in UI or totally lost by UI verification department because I have never received a letter back as return to sender. These information such as copy of passport, W2 form, employee profile, driver license and company ID are extremely personal and I am afraid not knowing whereabouts for security reasons. Currently I am living in Japan and this makes me more difficult to reach UI.
Yes I have sent my IDs on May 12th again according to your instruction below but, as of today, my claim status indicates Disqualification still that makes me wonder it is repeating the lost of my IDs at EDD office.
Please expertise and resolve this problem so I can pay my bills in time or at least let me know what is going on.
I can totally understand your situation from swarming peoples' inquiries like mine, however, I have been paying my UI since 40 years ago and
This is the time for our government to help us financially.
Thank you,
Reiko Wozny

Employment Development Department Terrible customer service

On 5/22 around 11:45am I called the UI about status on a claim filled for a month. After the long wait, a representivite named Susana answered in a rude and hostile manner about questions about questions regarding the claim. On the phone Susana would answer back to my mom so rude, and as if she were dumb and didn't know anything, telling her she never filled a claim, when we had an email stating that the application was received, instead of being informative. We called because the confirmation at the end states that EDD will send material within 10 days, and never received anything in 3 weeks. Susana did not help us at all, instead tells my mom that "Sometimes kids don't want to help their children with the application" when I was the one that helped my mom fill it out. This is a very unprofessional thing for a representative to say over the phone, and I suggest that representatives stay out personal life. If she truly does not want to stay at this job, she should resign. She is in that position to help people with the application who need assistance, not belittle them. I understand this is a busy time, but I was on the line with a different representative regarding my claim, and he helped me without an attitude, and didn't hesitate to finish wrapping up my claim.

Employment Development Department Unemployment claim

I reopened a claim that had a few weeks remaining as soon as the stay at home order was announced in my county on 3/17 with no issue except they made me serve a waiting period because apparently when I first opened that claim last year they did not so the one time I did speak to a rep I was informed that it did not apply to the waiver even though I served it during and directly as a result of covid-19 order. The main reason for this complaint is that after completing the existing claim on 4/12 I was Instructed that I would have to file a new claim so I did that and soon got a message that my account preferences had been changed specifically my address so on checking everything was the same so no need to respond as directed in that message next I get an award notice showing a new claim starting and ending dates with zero qualifying contributions which is not correct so I began trying every way that I can find to contact them email phone etc a few days after on 4/24 I received a letter requesting identifying document because they were unable to verify my identity which completely puzzled me since no sonner did I receive my last payment message that I immediately opened a new claim why was it that they new who I was on my last claim but not on my new with the same information so anyway the letter said I had ten days from the mailing date to get the documents back to them well according to the date on the letter they mailed it to me on 4/17 which would make Monday 4/27 my deadline which made it impossible since I didn't receive it until fri the 24 so I sent it out the very next day by certified mail so I can get conformation which says it was received on 4/28 in the meantime I was able to get thru to a rep on 4/27 who told me that they don't always get mailed out on the date they say leaving me to feel it would be fine she also said they have ten days to respond and of coarse here we are almost a month after they received it still no response and absolutely no answers to my emails also while I had her on the phone I asked her why I was not offered an extension as part of the cares act so I wouldn't have to open a new claim and she told me I'm better off with a new claim which made no sense to me especially looking back as of now I am around 5 weeks with no benefits I was forced to cash out an ira that I just started right before covid I will be going back to work on 5/26 but the damage has been done.
Any help or direction that can help move my claim along is much appreciated thank you

Michael P
