Emirates emirates counter in chennai international airport

Hi,

My Name is Avanthi Gopal and I recently Flew Emirates from Chennai (MAA) to Los Angeles (LAX) on the 9th of December. Flight Number EK543 and EK215.

I came across a few incidents in the Emirates Counter in Chennai Airport which I really want to bring to your attention as this caused a really bad impact on all of us Travelers.
I work in Los Angeles and I frequently travel around the world and this is the first time this has ever happened to me.

To Start with, I was given an extra baggage charge for my check in's which I totally was ready to pay for. They asked me to go to the Emirate counter instead of paying it there. The retained my Boarding Pass. I proceeded towards the counter. On reaching the counter, I noticed two other people waiting before me. This lady came up to me and asked me if I had cash to pay for it. I said no I don't. She told me that their Credit Card machine wasn't working ( they only had one machine for all of us).
They kept removing the machine and putting it back to show as if it wasn't working but on the side they were trying to convince us to give cash instead of Card.
They even asked me to go to Foreign Exchange services to give them the cash in hand instead of swiping our cards. This is totally unacceptable since Emirates is a reputable place and one should be collecting cash like this ILLEGALLY or convincing the passengers to Pay cash. We are flying and we are In an Airport, waiting to catch the Flight, they cant hold us back asking us to pay CASH ILLEGALLY. The number of people in the counter increased to about 6 people. We were all ready to pay via card but they were still acting as if they were fixing the machine, meanwhile convincing us to pay cash. Also two people whose baggage's were within limits were told they can only carry one Bag carry on and no personal Item and were charged for that. This was completely ridiculous as we were allowed one Personal Item and one Cabin Baggage. All of this looked as fraud to us since they wanted us to pay by Cash.
We all checked in early so we were made to stand for 1.5 hours in the counter which took away valuable family time for us at the airport. We were in a rush to catch the flight. I was given only one boarding pass till Dubai since I told them I cant wait further and need to spend family time and I wont pay cash. They told me I need to collect the next boarding pass in Dubai Airport. They said they will inform a person in Dubai and that a person will be waiting at the Gate with a ATM machine to get the money.
It came to my attention that the others who waited there till the last minute were charged half of what they owed and they collected cash from them. They asked the passengers to give them whatever cash they had. This is just ILLEGAL and totally unacceptable from a Company like Emirates.

When I landed in Emirates Airport, there was no one waiting with an ATM Machine. I proceeded to the gate without a Boarding pass. At the Gate, I told them the situation and they had no clue about anything at all. They checked and gave me my Boarding pass but they saw a comment which said I need to pay for Check in. There was no statement about what happened. My flight was leaving at 8:30 with the Boarding gate to close at 8:10. They sent me to an office to pay this amount around 7:50. I do not blame the people in Dubai at all since they were doing their Job. But I went to the office paid it with my Card, the whole 90 USD and came running at the Final call to the boarding Gate.I would have missed my Flight if I was even two mins late.
All this happened only because of the things that happened in the Chennai Emirates Office and their lies.

Collecting Cash in an Airport is Illegal. Lying to a Customer that a person will be waiting with a MAchine at an Aiport is Illegal. Atleast I was able to run to catch my Flight. Imagine if I was with family or If I was an older person. They really wanted to give a hard time because I refused to pay cash or give whatever cash I had to them. This is corruption at the Airport. This is completely Illegal and I really hope Emirates can take some strict action against them. All I got from that trip was Stress thinking if I can make it on time to LA. We all have jobs that we have to get back to and this is just really bad.

People who gave cash illegally were charged less and I was charged the complete 90 USD. How is that fair? So do we have to lean into corruption in order to travel safely without any stress? What kind of Customer Service is this? I really need assurance that you are going to take action on this issue. I will not leave this Issue till some strict action has been taken and I get a solution for this.

If you want to reduce terrorism From the Middle East - STOP paying & STOP using middle east services such as EMIRATES & ETIHAD airlines group whom use Your money to fund these continued terrorist atrocities of Racism & Discrimination Acts to other Cultures, including Yemen & Qatar.

Also, Corporate boards & Senior Management (including HR/Recruiting) of EMIRATES & ETIHAD airlines groups are also Racists and severely Discriminates with Consistent attributes = majority of personnel in these positions are Incompetent, Corrupt, possess Zero real leadership attributes & have absolutely NO idea what they are doing.

If you want to save yourself much heartache & delays & incompetent services & seek better service - AVOID Dubai airport & AVOID Emirates airlines group altogether. Emirates customer service & rebooking charges and lost baggage problem

First issue is Emirates Airline offered me the free booking changed on Dubai Stopover but all of officers of this company declined to accept this offer because officers not find in system. I request to changed flight from Germany to Sydney but denied to change on this route I requested and changed on first route but give me less time to take and find flight for this flight i again lose flight due to fault of Emirates officers because all of keep delaying to checked and confirmed the offer Emirates Airline if any offer advertised than should Emirates Airline has in system but all of these officers denied.

Third problem my baby sick after eating food on plane but Emirates staff not accepting any of fault keep made the decision in favour of Airline.
Please my main Problem is my Lost Luggage and Airline keep wasting time to decide the final decision regarding my lost Luggage Bag Claim.
Main issues Emirates Airline I am full fill as Free Booking but Emirates Airline denied to accept this offer now Should need to Refund the Rebooking Changes of: $2727.54 & Paid my Full Baggage claim I already submitted nearly all of Receipts of my lost items with Bag.

Emirates loss due to late arrival of jet blue airline from detroit to boston on 25th sept 18

This is to inform you that I DILIP KUMAR SUR sky ward no [protected] was flying to DETROIT to Dubai on 25 September 18
I was flying Detroit to Dubai via BOSTON on 25th September 18 as below

Detroit to Boston by JET BLUE air line flight no 1336 and Boston to Dubai by Emirates air line on 25th September 18
Due to late arrival of Jet blue airline at BOSTON airport we 35 passengers missed Emirates flight no EK 0238 We arrived Boston at 11.35 PM
We all went to Jet blue ticket counter They asked us that they can book in next day flight on 26th September 18 I agreed and asked to book in next flight of emirates for Dubai
JET BLUE AIRLINE provided Passenger Itinerary and NBR no [protected] LXCEZH

They did not provide any hotel accommodation at Boston so I was forced stay in airport which was not possible for me so I have book hotel myself with my expense
next day afternoon I called Emirates office in Boston and asked about my confirmation of ticket by providing all details. They informed me that no confirmation of my seat in EK 0238 on 26 th Sept.18 Also advised to go to JET BLUE AIRLINE and asked for confirmation
I left hotel with tension ( Which is not good for me at this age 72 years )and went to Jet Blue airline counter at terminal C in BOSTON at 3PM on 26th Sept18
They informed that there is no seat available in this flight I panicked and ask that I have to go Dubai because I have another flight on 28th early morning flight at 2 Am from Dubai to Calcutta for very urgent meeting at Calcutta and next day ie on 29th Sept 18 I suppose fly BHUTAN for another meeting on 30th Sept. 18 I showed them my all onward journey tickets .
They asked me that we can only accommodate in LUFTHANSA air line BOSTON to
FRANKFURT Dubai I accepted their proposal and they gave fresh passenger itinerary no NBR [protected] I asked about my two checked in luggage They informed that you will get at DUBAI So I left counter and went LUFTHANSA checked in counter at terminal E Counter open at 6 PM and i got seat boarded in flight
Reached Dubai airport at 10.36 PM TERMINAL 1 on 27th Sept 18 & went to collect my luggage belt no 5 but my checked in luggage was missing .
I lodged complain and at Terminal 1 Dubai airport property irregularity report ( PIR number is A/ LH 65904
finally This evening 29th Sept.18 at 5.10 pm Danata people delivered my luggage
Please note Due to non availability my checked in luggage on time so I could not able take my next flight to KOLKATA ( CCU) flight no EK 570 on 27th September and from KOLKATA to BHUTAN on 29th 9 AM by Air ASIA CCU to IXB (Bagdogra)
It is very big loss to me and for my business. I lost lots of money in this journey not only that i was passing through a mental tension which your JET BLUR AIRLINE and EMIRATES AIRLINE gave.
Please note i have all documents with me to prove above said
This all happened due to Emirates air line & JET BLUE AIRLINE
Now please inform How EMIRATES AIRLINE going to compensate my huge losses.

Emirates have a complaint about a recent flight, delays, no reply to complaints, no apologies, no compensation had to pay from my pocket to get home.

Ents 1: ek 603 economyflex plus 13aug2018 19:30karachi to dubaiek 229 economyflex plus 14aug2018 05:30dubai to seattleek 3123/as0394 economyflex plus 14aug2018seattle to los angelesthese were my original ticket I purchased, ek 229 was late letting us out of the plane so my next flight was missed since not enough time to reach the alaska airlines terminal. of course once I reached after running they closed the doors. they gave me option of flight next day, 16 hours later. i'm a heart patient at that i'm already not feeling good, I requested them to give an early flight since there is soo many airport in los angeles and so many flights were going as well, they told me there is a seat open in a flight that is leaving the airport in 1 hour but it's first class seat and they won't give that to me. my wife called the emirates customer service since I had no energy to talk or walk to the other terminal in seattle for emirates (that was in different terminal, 25 min walk) she told emirates customer service the whole story and they told her they are not able to see that seat since it's boarding in an hour or so the agent told her that go ahead and buy the first ticket you see and file a complain that's the only option we got. I then went to counter and explain them again the whole situation and they still had that seat open but they won't give me the seat and charged me roughly $549 to take that seat. I need the reimbursement for the ticket

Emirates airport staff do not understand a six month multiple entry visa

I have a Mulitple entry visa for 6 months.
The visa is valid for 3 months - for the first entry. After the first entry, I can stay in lebabnon for 6 months and travel in and out of the country. My first entry was in May 2018.
Your staff does not understand the meaning of a multiple entry visa and did not allow me to board on Sep 9, 2018, inspite of a valid multiple entry visa until Nov 2018.

Booking ref:GEPJRN - flying from Johannesburg to Beirut.

Now I have a got a letter from the Lebanon consulate saying that I have a valid multiple entry visa. Your team has the audaucity to say that I was not covering this letter with me and have closed my complaint.
The visa is a valid document to travel to a country? Why do you need an additional letter from the embassy? I got this letter to prove to Emirates that I had a valid visa.

I want a compenastion of USD 5000 for loss of business and a full refund of my ticket and additional fees.

I have opened 4 complaints on the Emirates website and NO ONE HAS CALLED ME OR GIVEN ME ANY FEEDBACK.

The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

Emirates bad service and food made me sick.

Recent shocking and horrible experience flying with Emirates recently. Firstly tried to call them numerous times as just a day before my flight my Partner had a bad accident, where one person or another kept saying yes we will sort but never ever did. Again I had further issues at the airport. Firstly the link they sent me did not open nor did I get a reply from this email when flagged. Then when we got to the airport the lady who checked us in stated to go to the lounge for us to receive the Wheelchair - when we got there I was absolutely disgusted by the service where the lady stated we cannot help you with this and said she didn't have a clue on this service, so My Partner was in even more pain and agony as he had to have this lengthy walk. He suffered a lot on the flight as no leg room seat was neither provided. This is not at all the service I expect from Emirates or any other airline and I am absolutely appalled whereby, if this is not looked into with seriousness. We then decided not to take the flight back with you and did not use our return tickets. Ive added this posting as it is critical to make further customers, family and friends aware of this matter. They have not given us a refund on our return tickets and the customer service has been awful-will never be flying with them again

The worst airlines I ever flew in my entire life. Rude staff (Both ground and air) and food made me sick.

Emirates broken seat in business class

I recently travelled business class flight EKOO4 on the 9th July 2018, I noticed my seat would not lay back, the seat was damaged, the flight attendants tryed to fix it but where unable to. I was told I would have to sit up right in my seat, there were no other seats so I had to stay where I was seated, I may as well have booked an economy seat. I paid to fly business class for comfort and I did not get this. You advertise that while in business class you can relax and stretch in comfort this was not the case on this part of my flight. I expect to be refunded on my credit card, I f you purchase something and it is broken you are entitled to a grind. I do not want points as I am not a skywards member, this is what Emirates have offered me . I will be taking this further with Consumers Affairs if you do not refund me for this part of my flight .

Emirates refund of air ticket money

I was supposed to travel to The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 15 Aug 2018,
My air ticket number is 176 [protected]-73. I booked this ticket a month earlier. On the date of travel when I reached Entebbe Airport
I was told that Emirates will not be taking us because the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had closed its gates for people going for Hajj.
I was so angry, disappointed and disorganized. I wondered why the Emirates airline couldn't take the initiative to inform me a day earlier or even a week before. I didn't travel. To my dismay, Turkish Airline on the 16th at 3am took passengers to Saudi Arabia. So I decided to use it the following day. I was told I can be refunded within 3weeks by the Emirates Airline. I went to their office in Kampala and they are making the process long for me, so please how can I be refunded? My contact is +[protected]

Emirates missing baggage

Out off 5 missing luggage 1 was completely empty (99percent) 1 still missing the courier didn't let me keep other pieces he says all or nothing. At the moment sorry at the moment I don't have the mentality and time to write anything else I'm really really disappointed with the airline to say the least.missing luggage reference number is .LHREK24111

Emirates baggage damaged

I traveled to India in December 2017, returned to United States on January 08, 2018.
When I arrived at Fort Lauderdale airport, the baggage's were found in the most unacceptable shape and damage. I took pictures right on the airport trolley. I went by Uber( I had no idea I had to go to their office and complain. Anyways kept calling airport office at Fort Lauderdale number ( nobody cares or care to answer or return the phone or grievance)
Their disgusting and unacceptable behavior and attitude and mannerism need a complete 360 degree model of how we Americans need professionalism unlike them hiring some cheap crews who have absolutely no regards.
Anyways I am still 9 months struggling to get some compensation from them.
I have made a decision that I will Never ever travel by this airline again.

Emirates my missing baggage

Good day,
I traveled from Dubai on the 26th of June my bags has been missing they were able to retrieve some but still missing 1 bag until July 29th I got a call that they found the last bag and that they will put it in delta airline so I can go pick it up at delta in Atlanta. I have been to the airport more than 7 times even traveled down to New Jessy they were just pushing me around even when I called the call center is like no one understand my plight I have an important document in that bag and a lot of valuable things which I'm suspecting that the guy that called me might have stole my bag because the bag was not locked. MY point now is to ask the guy by name Brandon and his cell phone is [protected] please contact him and get me my bag for me, because I've heard about your company stealing passengers bags this is just a confirm to me. If i don't get my bag by the end of next week I will be left with no choice than to go to New Jessy and call all the news reporters and let them know how Emirate stole my bag.

Emirates my flight home was delayed by 17 hours

My name is Katharina Lytras, I was supposed to be flying back home to Melbourne Via Dubai from London Heathrow on Friday 17th August 18 at 22.15pm. Arriving on 19th August at 5.35am.

I had notification very close to the time of departure that the flight EK0006 from london to Dubai was delayed and would be leaving at 23.59.
I was concerned that this would be a problem with my connecting flight to melbourne.
Flight EK0406.
I was then messaged and advised that my flight was moved and I was now on a flight on 19th August at 2.40. This meant staying the night in Dubai. And being extremely delayed.
I rang and eventually after talking to one of the customer service reps was put through to Alistair Trodden the supervisor.
This new flight would have meant I would be arriving in melbourne on Sunday night at 21.50- I would be arriving home after midnight at best.
With a business meeting the next day planned where I was giving a presentation I was not happy and asked repeatedly how this could be improved. And at the very least given an upgrade seat where I could sleep.
To put things into context I had also been in london for a family emergency for 2 weeks- my father was in Intensive Care and was seriously ill and had to have an emergency operation after losing many pints of blood. We had also been told on the friday I was to fly that he has Bone marrow Cancer. I did not want to stay the night in dubai as it would be a longer journey and Alistair put me on a flight the next day as there were no other alternatives available.
I asked repeatedly if there was a way I could arrive earlier on the Sunday. I had deliberately chosen this flight so I could have at least 1 day of rest to get over jet lag before my presentation the next day. When this was not an option I asked repeatedly how they could make the journey more comfortable so I would be able to at least sleep on the plane.
Apparently an upgrade was not something Alistair could authorise and he said I needed to talk to some one at check in... I spoke to many different staff, check in- told me I needed to speak to a supervisor then the Duty manager- nowhere to be seen, then told to talk to someone at the gate.
Then told I would need to speak to them at Dubai gate. At the Dubai gate I was told I needed to speak to the Supervisor. I spoke to a total of 7 people and was sent on a wild goose chase and a real run around. Getting more and more frustrated. In Dubai they said they couldn't do anything. Alistair had put me on a seat next to an infant who cried for most of the journey back. There were at least 4 babies in the area of the plane I was seated in, As you can imagine I had no sleep at all.
I was exhausted felt upset and uncared for.
I have always loved flying with Emirates which I have done often when I am going back to Europe. I was about to get an emirates card as the check in staff told me that as I fly so often with you that a Qantas frequent flyer card was not beneficial for points. This was the 2nd flight I had taken this year to Europe. I had deliberately chosen this flight as it was the shorted lay over and the quickest for the dates returning.
I have been so disappointed and frustrated. 17 hours delay is really not acceptable.
It impacted my family who are already distressed and were taking me to the airport. It impacted my work- being exhausted and not performing at my best and has left me feeling hugely disappointed with Emirates.
I don't know how i can justify flying with your airline again after this. I am flying to London for Xmas and now very much doubting flying with you.

Emirates late flights

dear sir my name is mr Graham Sutton on Saturday 28th of july 2018 me and my wife were flying to Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport where we were catching a connecting flight to udon thani, but we missed our flight to udon thani this was because the two emirates flights EK040 from birmingham andEK384 from Dubia were both over one hour late by the time we got off the emirate flight in Bangkok and collected our luggage our connecting flight to udon thani had gone . we then asked thai smile airways if they could move our tickets to the next flight but would not because it was not there fault we missed our flight so we then had to buy new tickets which cost 7, 600 baht I spoke to emirates customer services in Bangkok airport who told me it was emirates fault we missed our connection I have flown with emirates since 2015 and am a skywards member number EK-[protected]. I would therefore like to claim this 7, 600 baht back from you as it was not us at fault

Emirates complimentary hotel for 21 hours layover

I am Joseph Oluseyi Malomo, Silver Skyward Member EK [protected].

I am a top Government official of Nigeria. I serve as the State house Chaplain to the Vice President ( now Acting President) of Nigeria. I give advice on religious matters to Mr. President.

I have a confirmed ticket to fly from Abuja to London with with my family (Wife & 3 children) on Wednesday, 22 August, 2018. Booking reference
H38DGB. I was just told by your Staff that there is no Complimentary hotel for us despite the 21 hours connection and with 3 children. The reason is because there were other shorter lay over flights. With due respect I xonsider this as unfair.

There is no indication while booking online to suggest such. It should have been stated online while booking. This may amount to serious damages and injurous to travelers who have made no arrangement for such eventualities. As a first class and front line Airline in the World. I believe such lacuna should be avoided.

Even if such complimentary arrangements are not available to all, it certainly should be for families with young children. What impression will it have of the Airline to those young ones?.

All my 3 children have raised their expectations to visit the Dubai Fountain & Dubai Mall for some Shopping within the lay over.

I kindly do request for a redress of the situation by granting us the Complimentary Hotel.

Furthermore, may I kindly plead that you make it plain in the Online booking as a Note: "that this 21 hour Lay Over does not qualify for Complimentary Hotel and opting for it means Travelers will be personally responsible for hotel or visa.

The truth is that your Complimentary hotel makes many turn down other airlines to fly Emirates. Please dont stop.

I do hope to hear from you sionest for the redress before the travel date.
