Economy Rent a Car Excessively & unjustly charged

I would like a resolution to my case asap. Aside from being sorely over-charged for a sub-par vehicle rented near Liberia Airport (not suitable for Costa Rican roads), the battery of the car they rented us died at 4am in the morning (incurring us additional costs and extreme inconvenience in a foreign country before catching a flight). We've also been extortionately & unjustly over-charged (3-4x the real retail value) for a bumper falling off the vehicle (when a vital bumper screw was missing from date of rental caused this to happen). We have been chasing for 4 months to gain a reimbursement, and are getting no fair / honest or customer-focussed responses at all (only excuses, falsified invoices). Now they're simply ignoring my emails with no solution. At this stage, these actions of the rental company indicate that they're in fact criminals (not willing to find any form of fair and legal solution). I would greatly appreciate any support in having this resolved asap and feel this is extremely unprofessional! I will await your reply asap. Am happy to forward all correspondence as requested. Receipt for charges attached.

Desired outcome: Refund of unjust USD$689.18 fees & an apology for the service given.

Economy Rent a Car CR Rental Car

PWEBE114770E. I have reviewed all of your policies online as well as legal statutes in CR and there is No such policy. I was told by your reservations agent that if we needed to cancel “there would be a Full refund”. You Sir are stealing my money. Your company is a Scam and running a fraudulent organization! With dual citizenship, I have sent this to my attorney in San Jose and will file suit and file complaint with the CR government as well as a police report. Keeping $50.00 of reservation is Not legal and is not mentioned any where in your policies. I demand that the full $157.23 be refunded immediately as promised by your company.

Economy Rent a Car Rental Car

I rented from the MCO off site Orlando location to spend a week one hour away in Cocoa FL. I had a flat tire and was told that there would be a $185 fee to replace the tire, or I could drive two hours at my own time and expense to pick up a different car. The Beeline is no place for a flat tire!

Desired outcome: I would like to have this defective vehicle repaired.

I agree with you, I was waiting long time for the shuttle on the airport and the driver was very rude with me too, he didn't allow that We enter into the van and He was leaving us in the airport, I called again and he was comming again so, the problem is that he was running so fast mora than the speed allow on the highway. Now Im doing a complaint in the Orlando OFFICE. The name of the driver is Jose. Just bad service...the issue was in September 8 2021

Economy Rent a Car Customer service

Hi my name is Gloria otero and I have a complaint with customers service he said his name is Juan and he a manager he very rude a disrespectful to his customer I called earlier Friday morning sep3 2021 first I spoke to a representative and I was happy he could not help me, so then I ask to speak to a manager but he was not in yet! So then he called me back about we're a small fee came from, so he told me I was late to return the car ! So I told him I almost missed my flight when I went to pick up the car and then wait for a shuttle to take me to the airport this almost 2 hours later ! Just bad service.

Economy Rent a Car Car rentals for santo domingo feb 13- 18, 2021

I rented, booked and paid a car with Economy for a vacation to santo Domingo February 13-18, 2021. when I got to the airport February 13, the agent at the counter told 3 different stories with an unbelievable amount to pay, first he said that the car I booked was unavailable, then he said I have to pay $3, 000 for the car they have avaiLable, he said he had an suv. I realized I wasn't getting anywhere with him I asked the agent to talk to a supervisor, his name is Juan Jose Reyes, he works for Economi, he wanted the same amount. I showed him proof of my payment. Keep in mind there has a curfew of 7pm on weekends. I had to take a taxi, charge $35.00 to get to my destination.

Desired outcome: full refund and closeinvestigation of this horrible practice in Santo Domingo

Economy Rent a Car Worst ever. Rude. Rip off. Scam

Worst company ever. They are a scam. I booked a car rental for three days for 147$ and when I picked up the car they added all these fees which turned my car rental over $300. I booked through Expedia, but economy is smart, they says we don't charge you now, pay when you pick up the car, so that when you call Expedia to complain, they can't help you since the payment was done through economy. They are a scam and should be shut down.

Economy Rent a Car Charged my credit card did not rent a car

To whom it may concern,

On june 29th took an uber tolax to rent a car from economy rent a car.
First of all the place look horrible. They have a sofa that looks like you found in the back ally. It's so disgusting.

My complaint is that I was charged $126.43 for a car rental that did not happen. They wanted a major credit card but mine was maxed out. They would not use my debit card, yet they still charged my debit card. Then I had to take an uber home which cost me $25.00 which I want to be reimbursed.

Economy Rent a Car car rental

I recently traveled to Costa Rica and in preparation to travel I booked a car from Economy a month or two in advance. The quoted price for car online was listed as $350 cdn, upon arrival the price more then tripled. The reason for the drastic increase was the insurance coverage on the car which sales staff used high pressure and scare tactics to impose on you, when in a foreign country and unsure these tactics work. The price for the insurance was more then $100 a day, which is highway robbery, they also said they would accept no other form of coverage and you would be liable for damage. Not only was this experience terrible, but now upon my return I have still received no invoice or a return on my $150 us deposit and all of my emails have gone unanswered, the location being in costa rica is difficult to go in person to complain, which I am sure they bank on. I am now at a point where I will and try and escalate to upper management if I can find any numbers to call, so far no luck

Economy Rent a Car Tolls Transporter [protected]

This is for Rental Reservation No. PEXPNOEF596B Car rented on 2/11/2020 and returned on 2/18/2020. I told the Rental Agent that we were driving to the Saint Augustine area using route I 59 and route 1. The agent told us that we will need the Tolls Transponder at $9.95 per day.
We did not use the Transponder since we did not pass trough any toll booth, which you can verify it by checking the record of the transponder
No. [protected].
The agent should be be knowledgeable that routes 59 and 1 do not require the use of a transponder. I should not be charged for the non use of the transponder and I'm requesting that Economy Rent a Car reimburse the full amount of this charge.

Economy Rent a Car adding fraudulent charges for purchased insurance and charges for damages without estimate.

My wife and I rented a car from Economy for our Christmas vacation. We arrived on December 16, 2019 to pick up our car which we had a on line quote and credit card hold for $476.00. We did purchase on lline insurance with Allianz (policy number PL11481481603). That was for full coverage. When we picked up our rental on the 16th, your employee said we opted out of insurance which we told them we had insurance. He said it was no good. He convinced up to purchase another policy through Economy for $449.00. So that was added to our initial rental charge of $476.00 for a total of $925.26. I saw the clerk fill out the form saying we purchased the additional insurance. The rental sustained a very small abrasion to the right rear bumper that was barely noticeable. Upon turn in of the vehicle on the 29th, the small abrsion was made known to the person checking the vehicle. He was not concerned but said it would have to check with his manager. After 45 minutes, he returned and said his manager would be charging my american express card an additional $493.96 since we opted out of their insurance. I told him that I had proof from my online statement that they did charge me for the insurance on December 16th. He did not give me an incident report nor did he justify why a very unnoticable abrasion cost $493.96. NO WRITTEN ESTIMATE. We had to leave to catach our flight. When I put in a claim with Allianz I was told if they did not have the damage estimate or report from Economy they could not pay. I CANNOT EVEN GET SAN JOSE Costa Rica ECONOMY on the telephone to give me these documents. This is the worst fraud and I will never use this company ever again. Had this been in the United States, criminal charges would have been filed against those individuals and the company. The Economy rental agreement was 0468897. Economy Rent a Car extra charges for tolls.

Between 7/8/19 and 7/12/19, over two months ago, we rented a 2019 Tucson from the (Economy) Jet Car Rental. Yesterday, I received an email with attached, additional toll charges and fees totaling $98.22 (Canadian). $50.00 of the charges is for a "service charge", the remainder is apparently for tolls. Although there may have been tolls that I missed, at this point I do not recall them. Likely they were on a toll road without toll booths in which to pay. Since most people renting cars from this particular location are likely going to Niagara Falls like we did, I suppose this is a daily issue that should be anticipated by Economy. To charge someone $50 two months after renting a car as a "service charge" is likely an often repeated scam. Especially, when the charges should have been anticipated by Economy. We are retired and frequently travel and have rented cars in many locations but haven't seen an operation like we observed at the Jet Car Rental. When we arrived we waited our turn and observed different customers arguing with the staff. Later, when we returned the car, still other customers were arguing with staff. I don't know what the disagreements were about but thought the occurrences were oddly frequent. I have attached a copy of the email and break down of charges they sent me. The accompanying email explains the $50 service charge. Please also note the many other toll charges for many other license plates. I suppose they all also had to pay the $50 "service charge". Please investigate this and let me know what action your company will be taking. I would also appreciate the charges being reversed and credited to my credit card. I have attached the information they sent me and await your prompt response. My email address is [protected]@msn.com.

Economy Rent a Car rental car

I am writing to inform someone of a complain of service. I arrived at the rental car check in late my schedule pickup was 12:30 I called in after 1 to find out current pick up status was told by representative that I have two hours before I'm officially charged of anything I asked representative if someone was on their way. Arrived after 1:35 40-ish upon arrival I get to teller the due to later pickup know that I was going to be late for a planned dolphin swim at Merritt Island at 300 pm. I was an additional $9 for 3 days for an unknown reason. When leaving on the following Monday after returning the rental I was also late leaving the rental place to go to the airport the arrival time was about 6:10 did not leave until about 6:30. My rental was the August 16 to the 19. I was quoted 35 paid 116.

Economy Rent a Car unauthorized credit card

I made a rental car reservation from economycarrentals.com EC543EF9 at April-2019. Insurance Excess amount on this contract was 2000 USd for insurance and the operator of Route car rental. Rental period was 25 July to 4 August.
I made a small accident and I delivered the car 4 th august, they charged me 3500 USD. They said they changed their policy on internet on July I have responsible form this.
I said I can't be but they charged anyway, I can not stop their charge.
I am trying to contact with economycarrentals and no one answers emails, only answer is they will answer with in 10-15 day (damage claims may be longer?)
I can not find any contact from anywhere, what will I do?

Economy Rent a Car strong armed into buying extra insurance when it was plainly written out on paperwork

rented a car from Economy Rent a Car at Orlando on 7/14/19. I gave the agent my own rental insurance but the Economy agent asked for more car insurance papers for full coverage which never needed this before..the rental was already booked and paid for he only needed to assign the car! not dissect my car rental coverage like he was looking for lice! So, I was forced to buy Economy full coverage insurance for 5 days ($102.62) and would not give me a car til I signed it. I was at rental place after flying all morning and had hungry kids waiting to go eat! they give you no alternative.. So, I was forced to buy this insurance against my wishes. Later I found out that this insurance was only supplemental insurance and did not include collision and damage to the car so of course he lied and I had the supplemental and collision already so I need a refund..

Economy Rent a Car rental car

We reserved a car for 7/9/19 through 7/16/19. We paid in advance. Our plane was delayed leaving the Philadelphia International airport. We arrived at McCarran Las Vegas International Airport at 12:30 am 7/10/19. We called the number on our paperwork to request the Economy shuttle bus. A gentleman answered. He said the office was closed and our reservation #PRENX03A9828 had been cancelled. We were shocked! we said that we did not cancel it! He stated that it had been cancelled by Economy because we were late and the office was closed. He did not offer us the opportunity to pick up the car the next day when their office (if they have an office) reopened.
We would like an apology for the inconvenience and a total refund. So far Economy told us to go the HolidayCars, com and Holiday Cars told us to go to Economy

Economy Rent a Car refund pending

We hired a car from 12th to 16th June from San Francisco vide invoice no. SFDT-1830.
We were made to pay 220USD whereas the invoice is 192 USD. Moreover, we were forced to pay a refundable deposit of USD 200 which was supposed to be released in 48 hours. It has been over 10 days and despite repeated emails, we have not received any response regarding refund of USD 228 .

Awaiting immediate action.

The car was booked through Expedia but the payment was taken by your company Economy rentals at the time of delivery of the car so your company is liable to refund the money. Your staff had assured us that refund process has started as soon as we returned the car and that the payment will reflect in our card within 48 hours but the same has not been done since the last 15 days. You are requested to respond regarding the same immediately. Thanks

I rented a care today 62519 because my car was being fix! My car repaired was done sooner than expected!
I paid as leases $195 dollars for a carI really didn't have the extra money for but I needed to get to work! I will like to returned the car tomorrow 6/26/19 . Being I only had the car for 1 Day I will like to know if I can get a refund on the days I was already charged for!
