Economy Rent a Car not excepting my debit card

I reserved online to pick up a car at Toronto airport. I used credit card info to book the car. But when I got there to get a car I was told he would not rent one to me because I didn't have a credit card. I have always used a debit card and at times the run it as credit. He still would not rent me a car because I didn't have a credit card with me.
So I returned to the van to go back to the airport while on the van 2 other people told me they used their debit cards. I want to know why this happened?

Economy Rent a Car car rental

Reservation #eexpn03a6977 was picked up at above address showed proof of insurance coverage that was faxed over from my insurance company still was told that had to put down 1000.00 for coverage. Waited almost an hour for car was told that the car was being wash. Got car went out to dinner with family got back n car my son see roaches crawling on floor n console. Than I knew why it took so long to get car I can be contacted at [protected]. I will be disputing charges with my credit card holder

Economy Rent a Car getting charged for a vehicle I did not rent

I am contacting you guys because I rented a car online and I somehow bypassed the information that states that the vehicles cannot be driven to Nevada and which that's what I needed it for, when I showed up to pick up the car at the San Diego Airport I was notified that the vehicle cannot be driven to Nevada and I was suggested to use a different company in which I did I would like to get a full refund due to being unaware of that detail thank you, the gentleman that help me out from Economy suggested to contact you guys for a full refund. Economy Rent a Car car rental

TO: Economy Rent A Car

On May 14 I rented a car from your office in FLL. I reserved it prior a few weeks earlier. I choose Economy because of the great rate offered. With that said, the experience at the office was less than impressive and was sketchy and falsely represented false marketing and sales practices.

In particular, the branch manager, Marcela Becerra, was rude, condescending and dismissive.

I have rented cars for over 30 years and have never been strong armed and bullied into paying the insurance fee. The way it was presented was also false and deceptive. It was presented as if I had no choice, in order to rake in the extra $$$. It was Not made clear that I did have the option to secure my card with a deposit until return. It was stated by the rep and restated by Becerra that my only choice to get the car was to pay the 83.68. I have never ever paid this before and because of this I will never use Economy again. All other rentals hold 200 as security and accept my personal insurance as coverage, as presented with my full policy copy.

Becerra was the most unprofessional person I have come across in a long while, at a car rental or elsewhere. She is a poor rep for your company and is condescending, dismissive and abrupt. She does not listen to the client and rather is of a Nazi tone, her way or the highway. Sad. So the low rates that you advertise are OT worth the deception.
I plan on taking this full statement to all of social media and to all of your sites. You need to address this horrible practice.

Economy Rent a Car rental car

I reserved a car from San Diego airport. My plane leaving from Phoenix scheduled to land in San Diego was delayed for 3 hours. Since I was late picking up the car (I also did not realize Exonomy expects you to be "on time") they canceled my reservation. They will hold it for 2 hours only. I said I could prove the plane was delayed 3 hours and they said it didn't matter. So for a $40 charge they could open my reservation. For my trouble they would "upgrade" for free. (Which ended up being the exact compact car I originally reserved so there was no upgrade). I prepaid for gas so I would start with a full tank and return on empty. Well stupid me trusting that I would actually have a full tank to start with, left the rental area and didn't notice the empty tank until we were out of the airport. I left 3 voicemails with the company to let them know and they have yet to return my call from a week ago. Very disappointed. Never renting from Economy again.

Economy Rent a Car extra insurance charges and unauthorized credit card charges

1. Asked to buy Economy Rental Insurance which was not necessary:
I rented a car from Economy Rent a Car at Orlando on 4/11/19. I wanted to use my own car insurance for the rental car but the sales person asked for my car insurance paper which I did not have with me. At the time of booking this was not mentioned. So, I was asked to buy Economy Rent a Car insurance for 5 days ($102.62) otherwise sales person said that he will cancel my rental car. I was at rental place at 9 pm after taking 4 hours flight. So, I was forced to buy this insurance against my wishes. Later I found out that this insurance was only supplemental insurance and did not include collision and damage to the car but sales person told me that it does when I got the car.

2. Unauthorized credit card charges:
I returned the car on time on 4/15/19. I recently received another bill for $21.91 which was for the toll I missed to pay. Actual toll was $1.91 which I understand I have to pay. But additional $20 administration fees was charged and $21.91 was taken out of my credit card without my permission.

I am requesting refund of $102.62 plus $20.00, total of $122.62 which I strongly feel I should not have payed. Please resolve this issue quickly by 5/3/19 and refund me $122.62

My name is Ernest Long #[protected], My self and my fiancee came to Las Vegas for a vacation . And we had a car rental set for a compact car, we made the reservations through Orbitz Itinernary # [protected], confirmation # PBTZNo341D5B so we arrived on March 31st 2019, to find out as we waited to be picked up at the location where we was suppose to be picked up. by an employee from economy and the guy stated as he approached all of the people that where standing there that we only had one car to rent left we found out from the guy that our scheduled pick up would not be honored because they did not have any more cars in there lot, Reservation dates for the pick up and return dates March 31, 2019 to April 4th and i paid 176.27 .So i confirmed with a person at Economy that i needed to file a complaint to receive my funds back on my credit card. Today I picked up my my reserved car, I reserved a mini van and the personal that attended me was very very rude saying that the didnt have any minivan and if I wanted to rent the car the only option was a suv, he was angry about someting. Suddenly his 2 other, arabs friends startes pro yell saying that may 5 family and legend will fit. And started ro push and throw may luggege.

Rental Dates 4/03-4/13/19

When I rented this car I said I did not need the insurance because Progressive Insurance covers my rental car agreements. However, when I received my online bill I notice the following charges - GLASS AND TIRE PROTECTION, $20.00, HANDLING INSURANCE FEE $39.50, AND LOSS OF USE $39.50. Please note, I did NOT have an accident while it was in my possession. My insurance covers all of the above and they were told that. However it was explained to me that since I refused to take a $1000 hold on my card in case of damage to my car, I had to pay the above. What a bunch of B.S. I will be reporting this to the Florida Insurance Commission. Basically this is a bait and switch tactic and the car we had was a piece of crap with dents and scratches. For my total $481 charge I could have gotten a far better car at Hertz.
I also see that on your web page NONE of the issues listed by customers have been resolved. What kind of customer service is this and you are not ECONOMY..

Economy Rent a Car coerce into signing receipt of payment

When I originally book car rental, I have indicated that the driver was my husband. Even though I have a license, I do not drive. I paid this in full during the booking online. However, when I got to the rental agency in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. They coerce me for my driver's license and indicated because the credit card was under my name, I was the driver as well. We were at the rental agency for almost 2 hour arguing the point that I was not the driver. Carlos, the agent would not bend and I had to charge for the additional driver or I would be there for who knows how much longer arguing this point. With all the hours of flying and confronted with not knowing how much longer we'll be there, I relented to signing the receipt. There were other points of contentions that I would not get into. I was charged an additional $15.00 per day with service and tax fees involved.

We were on our 41st anniversary vacation, which did not start off well. Please look into this and advise if I can get a refund. My husband and I live on a fixed income and did not expect to spend this additional fee. Thanking you in advance.

P.S. I spoke to other rental companies (Alamo, Budget, Thrifty) and they had no problem on changing drivers, and that because I charged it, this would not change who the driver should be.

Economy Rent a Car stealing my money

I moved to Costa Rica on Nov. 1..rented economy for a month..cost 750..then rented in Jaco, Costa Rica..two weeks 530..then had to rent again on Dec 24..high season..they quoted me a rate for two weeks at 890..i said no..i just paid 530..so they said ok 750..so I said ok..they charged me 750 per week..1509 for two weeks..rip off..so you go in and try to reason with them but they dont care cause you are an American.

Yes, I am owed 750 from ECONOMY..what a travesty they are and the more people you speak to here, especially Americans..they rip us off big time.

Economy Rent a Car dangerous car

Rental agreement no. Fll-62261 reservations fll no. Eexpn032b818! Richard smart jr [protected]! They gave us a car they was very dangerous! The tire was completely bald and ready to fall off the car! We took pictures and so did the agent when we brought it back! We couldn't drive it much because of the danger! This is unexpectable! I would like a full refund of the amount of 129.92! Economy Rent a Car rental car experience - confirmation number pcarl03256ab

I was very disappointed with the service and product I received at Economy Rental Cars - Fort Lauderdale Airport - 111 S W 33rd Street from 12/25 - 12/30 2018. Upon arrival at the rental facility we experienced the following:

- there were two people working with one person ahead of me in line. It took one hour for me to get my car. Service was extremely slow and inefficient.

- Once I was waited on, I was asked for my insurance card. I have never been asked for my insurance card when renting a car and therefore did not have it with me (since it stays in my car at home). We searched frantically for the account number, found it, gave it to the gentlemen that was waiting on us and he didn't believe it was the correct number. We were unable to call the insurance company to verify since it was Christmas Day and they were closed. He did finally accept it.

- Since I (Lisa Kelley) initially booked the reservation I had to be the main driver. I asked if my husband could be the driver but they denied it. I could pay an additional fee to add a second driver - we did not. I don't understand that.

- When I was paying I was charged an additional fee of $7.95/day (not sure for what). This fee was not indicated when I booked the reservation. For 6 days, it was an additional $57.72. I still cannot figure out how they got to that amount.

- When we drove the car for the first time in the daylight on 12/29/18 we noticed splatters and smudges throughout the car including the interior roof and passenger side visor that we were pretty confident were blood. It was very disturbing and I called immediately to report it, they suggested I file this formal complaint. I have attached pictures.

Based on the above mentioned complaints we request a full or partial reimbursement of the rental car charges for $463.15. If this is not resolved in a timely manner we will submit a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. You can reach me at [protected]@yahoo.com or [protected] if you have any questions.

Economy Rent a Car cancellation fees

I phone the car rental company - Hitch rentals and cancelled my booking but Economy Rental Cars refused to refund my deposit. Their excuse is that I didn't phone Economy Rental Cars directly to cancel but only cancelled with Hitch rentals and they did not make me aware that I needed to contact Economy Rental Cars as well, if they had of I would have.

It wouldn't cost Economy Rental Cars anything to refund my deposit, in this case it was an honest mistake by myself and Hitch rentals and shouldn't have to forfeit $44.

Economy Rent a Car 2 car rentals

Terrible Service.

Upon arrival van smelled like dog and mold.
I was told to sign in and was told to wait outside with the other guest.
This was a car sales lot and the office was in a ugly trailer. False advertisement.

Had to return 1st vehicle after 2 days. I had to keep putting air in the tire and the car kept missing as I was driving. Picked up with only a quarter tank of gas.

I was given 2nd veh. Which seemed good. However after driving some distance the breaks squeaked so loud and once again the light came on to put air in the tire. Really!
This was a vacation I worked hard to take and the experience with your company was night mare. When I returned car and told attendant he said he didnt have any other good running cars.

Economy Rent a Car damage waiver and toll road tracker

In renting a car, we were given the option of paying the $1000 deductible or $150 option. We had to choose one, even though we have full coverage insurance. There policy says you need to choose one if you have liability only insurance.

Also we were suggested to add the sun pass tracker because we couldn't use cash at the toll booths, which is a lie. You can pay cash

This is a very deceptive money hungry company. I'd like the damage waiver I paid for returned to me

i also had a flat tire with this car and it seemed easier to get the tire fixed myself and get reimbursed for it. i cleared that with estaban at rental shop and i still dont have the reimbursement.

Economy Rent a Car I am complaining no car was available

I booked a rental car on my corporate website. I work for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. I booked a car with economy rental car from oct 25th-oct 30th confirmation EPRLN03044AA at the Orlando locations. I was flying alone with my 2 little children and lots of bags. I get to the rental car place and the guy tells me there is no cars available. I ask to speak to a manager and he told me there is no manager I got to speak to him. No car for me to rent which means I got to rent somewhere else at a high rate because it is last minute when I booked this reservation oct 9th. Now I am stranded at the car rental place with no car and all he has to offer me is a shuttle back to the airport. My daughter was out here for modeling and all this time wasted caused so much aggravation. I had to uber and still have no rental car. This is a scam and should not even be on a corporate website to book. I am very disappointed in this service.

Economy Rent a Car over charge and hidden fees dishonest

First of all when I arrived in Las Vegas I found out the rental desk was not at the airport and I was shuttled to 2 different places one was a warehouse that had no air conditioning and you were asked to sit outside in the blazing heat ! Next - the staff looked like they were thugs . When I turned the car in you again had to wait in the heat.Then there mini-shuttle that only fits 6 people so I was number 7 and again had to wait . In addition I was given a price via booking on line and when I arrived it was all these extra fees 1. Rate charge, Nevada state Tax, government service fees, clark county Tax, License recovery fee, energy recovery fee, Sweaty facility charge, Transfer fee, Airport fee, if you dont have your insurance card on you they add a lost damage waiver fee which is $49.90 These people are out right crooks .WARNING rent at your own risk because they dont care . it would not let me do zero star thats the only reason they got a one star.

I was stranded at ft lauderdale airport 1030 at nigjt because of the horrible agents at economy i had a debit card and knew some of the other rental car companies policies on debit cards i checked economy and i called tbem 3 times gave them the card name and the type of card [censored] pablo was one he said it eas good i booked it they took the money off my card real easy get at the locstion after dealing with the three stooges the denied my card and didnt care less cslled marcela becerra the so called manager never available called customers service no justice told me to call Travelocity beware this happens to a lot of people it totally ruined my trip spent night with the homeless thanx economy u really suck clear up your debit card policies include we dont accept prepaid cards [censored]s
