eBay ebay allows sellers to show pictures of an object but send something "similar."

Sellers post a photo of an object or group of objects for auction but the photo isn't what is being sold. Rather, something "similar" is sent. When I bid on an item, I expect to receive the item pictured. Ebay must FIX THIS NOW!

eBay Gives buyer choice of shipping when ups shipping already priced

I sold a doll and listed the price for ups ground shipping for $28. The customer at check out of purchase was given the choice of shipping even though the price for ups ground was $28 as shown in the listing. They chose priority mail which cost $50.60. The fee of $28 was collected by e-bay not $50.60. I had a choice to terminate the sale or request additional $22.60 for shipping from the customer. Customers blame the seller when more money is requested, think the seller is dishonest. To avoid this I paid the additional shipping fee myself.? Why should a seller provide the cost for shipping with a specified shipping service if the customer is then given the choice by e-bay for a far more expensive shipping expense? E-bay collects 10% fee for shipping as well as for the item's price. If the customer has to pay more for shipping the added fee is also taxed 10%. A dirty way of cheating the seller to get a few dollars more leaving both the seller and customer angry. So sick of the ineptitude!

eBay search function and help contact

I have found that eBay's search function is no longer working properly. The setting to prioritize searches by most recent has failed and I get a mix of listings of various ages. Secondly, when trying to contact eBay about having this repaired there is nothing in the contact section that allows us to send emails to those responsible for maintaining the site. Considering the rapid escalation of fees over the years this kind of decrease in service is just totally un justified.

eBay [protected] customer service numbers have been retired

Several of the phone numbers listed for eBay customer service do not work any longer. The above number has been retired. I received a call from eBay at 5:00am in the morning PST. When I called back, the number wasn't answering with a human, the recorded message directed me to go online. eBay online customer service failed to resolve the issue. They have been contacted via email which they have ignored and via twitter.
There customer service has dropped to a level of a gutter.

eBay eBay refunded buyer after they closed return request stating it was invalid due to buyer not returning the item.

I had an issue right from the beginning with a buyer (E-bay ID Jedichee-6). He won an auction for a hard to find 1983 GI Joe Cobra Commander Figure complete with file card for $200. At first he said would not pay unless I took $50 off, because he felt he paid too much. When I refused, he went ahead and paid for the item, so I sent it out.

Over a week after the customer received it, he posted negative feedback saying the item was not as described and he wanted to return it. In his emails he clearly stated it was shipping damage, which is not the same. He stated the figure was fine, but the file card was damaged. He posted pictures and it looked like someone stomped on the box. There is no way the figure could have been inside the box and been ok like the buyer claimed. Customer wanted $50 off to keep the item. I told him no, to send everything back and I would refund him.

Customer was supposed to return the $200 item for a refund and he did not. He kept the item. I posted pictures of what I sent and what I received back. The buyer only sent back the damaged file card which maybe worth $10. It is so damaged though, it is not possible to tell if it is even the same card I originally send. It could be one that was in worse condition to begin with. It looks like someone crumpled it up in their hand.

I contacted E-bay to let them know he did not return it like he was supposed to. E-Bay closed the return request and told me it was invalid since the buyer did not return everything and that the customer would not be refunded. They immediately removed the negative feedback as well. 24 hours later, I get an e-mail saying E-bay has refunded the customer $203.50 and my Paypal account has been charged. E-bay did not did not do their job and research this, they did not even look at the actual return. If they would have, they would have seen the customer did not return the item. I called their customer service who even told me this was wrong and a refund should not have been issued. So now the buyer has my $200 item and his $200 back, while I have nothing.

I want my $203.50 back from e-bay. They would not stand for it if I did not pay my seller's fees for this month, so I don't know why they feel it is ok to take my money without my permission.

The 1st 2 attached pics are my e-mails from E-bay, with the 1st one showing them saying the return is closed with no refund to the buyer, and the 2nd saying they refunded the buyer. The 3rd and 4th pics are of what I sent to the buyer, and the 5th pic is of what I received back.

If anymore information is needed, please let me know.

eBay Doesn't communicate with customer concerning issue

I contacted a seller, who made a promise to refund the purchase amount. He contacted eBay and eBay told him not to. He sent me the transcript of the conversation. Ebay never discussed the issue with me and it is impossible to speak with anyone. The advertised product showed quick release links, but the product didn't have quick release links. Traditional links are often too tight for small wrists, so the quick release (Apple's design) links work well. This band didn't work well because the links pinched each other making the band more of a bracelet, which doesn't contour to the wrist. The issue is making a unilateral decision without communication.

eBay Did not resolve my dispute with seller

On 6/27/2020, I won an auction on eBay for a vintage lens. I was the only bidder. I paid for it, but the seller never sent it although he provided a bogus DHL tracking number and somehow updated tracking information on the eBay site showing the various stages in delivery up to alleged delivery. Curiously, the date and time stamp on the "In Transit" and "Delivered" entries were exactly the same. DHL repeatedly informed me that the tracking number I was given was not in their system.
I had been offered a refund by eBay but made it clear I didn't want a refund, but the item I paid for.
On 7/16, the earliest date that I could request them to intervene, they simply refunded my money and closed the case. They acknowledged that they could find no legitimate tracking information.
eBay did nothing to assist me and nothing to penalize the seller.

eBay sell fake meteorite on eBay

Accused eBay of covering up the truth about its sale of fake meteorite

I published an article that revealed that scammers are selling fake meteorite on eBay. Please check the last part of this article, I will place it at the end of this article for your reference.

Since this article exposed the fraudsters' behavior of selling false meteorite on eBay, I think it is necessary to remind more meteorite consumers not to continue to be scammed by scammers. Therefore, I published this article on the world's largest meteorite forum For articles, please refer to this link: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/meteorites/
My article was deleted by the forum in just a few hours, and my registered account was also frozen. Please see the photos I sent to you.

On January 24, 2020, the US government announced: "... The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) considers the current state of e-commerce to be an intolerable and dangerous situation that must be resolved immediately and firmly", please refer to this link for Details, (https://www.practicalecommerce.com/new-us-regulations-on-counterfeit-goods-target-marketplaces). At the time, I thought the US government was exaggerating, and it might be a political performance. But now my experience tells me that the reality may be worse than what the US government claims.

My article published on the world's largest meteorite forum (http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/meteorites/) only existed for a few hours, and my account was frozen. This makes me feel terrified, eBay has the unimaginable ability to make my articles disappear within a few hours. eBay has always announced to the public that they put consumer interests first. But the real situation is that once consumers are hurt, eBay's first task is to silence the victims and continue to deceive other consumers.

Freedom of speech is the basic belief of the United States. If the consumer has no say, all the rights granted to the consumer are false. They deprived me of my freedom of speech, so I cannot help these cheated meteorite consumers. Do you have other ways to help these cheated meteorite consumers?
I beg you to rescue meteorite consumers who are still cheated.

If you want to confirm that what I said above is correct, just register an account on this meteorite forum (http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/meteorites/), then post my article, and then observe the article Whether it will be deleted. The following are the articles they deleted.

How to successfully sell fake meteorite on eBay?

eBay gave up the supervision of these scammers is the main reason, but these scammers are indeed very smart, they have designed a series of traps to deceive consumers and escape legal sanctions.

So how can scammers successfully sell fake meteorite while avoiding the penalties of the law?
The first important method is that the meteorite must be sold according to the Meteoritical Society (https://meteoritical.org/) classification criteria. Because the Meteoritical Society is the world's highest authority for the identification and classification of meteorites, selling meteorites according to the Meteoritical Society classification criteria will make consumers feel safe and relax their vigilance.

The Meteoritical Society's method of classifying meteorite has two important characteristics.
A, The Meteoritical Society names meteorites based on where they fell on Earth. B, all the meteorites in the fall site share only one name, which means that The Meteoritical Society is only studying the fragments of one of the meteorites, and then give this fragment a name. All meteorites found in this area (The Meteoritical Society does not indicate how big this area is) use this name, whether there is one meteorite in this area or there are 1 million meteorites.
Consumers often mistakenly believe that the name given to a meteorite by The Meteoritical Society is the unique name of this meteorite. In fact, this is a common name for a group of meteorites. This name is not given to the name of a certain meteorite, but to all meteorite found in this area. For example, they sell a meteorite named "NWA111" on eBay. In fact, this is one of all meteorites (or fragments of one of them) in the area of "NWA111".

So what evidence do these crooks use to prove that the meteorites they sell are the meteorites in this area (eg NWA111)?
These scammers are completely relying on "imagination" to prove that their meteorite is a meteorite classified by The Meteoritical Society. The reasons are as follows:
A, The Meteoritical Society only identified and classified the fragments of one of the meteorite found in this area, and refused to disclose to the public their basis and process of identifying the meteorite. The Meteoritical Society's research on meteorite is completely secret. Obviously, these scammers cannot obtain evidence from The Meteoritical Society to prove that their meteorite and the "meteorite fragment" named by The Meteoritical Society were found in the same place.
B. Meteorites classified by The Meteoritical Society all share the same name, but The Meteoritical Society has not announced how many such meteorites are in this area, nor how big this area is. The Meteoritical Society also does not provide identification certificates for meteorites, so these scammers obviously cannot obtain evidence from The Meteoritical Society to prove that their meteorite is the meteorite in this area.
C, The Meteoritical Society names meteorites based on where they fell to the earth. If the same meteorite (a meteorite with exactly the same chemical composition) is scattered in 100 different places on the earth, then this meteorite will There are 100 names. The meteorite called NWA111 sells for $100/g, another meteorite called NWA222 sells for $10, 000/g. In fact, these two meteorites are the same meteorites, but they fell to different places. If the price of NWA222 is always 10, 000 US dollars or higher, then someone will use NWA111 to impersonate NWA222. So selling meteorites according to the classification standards of The Meteoritical Society will inevitably lead to extreme confusion. This method is obviously not suitable for the meteorite trade.

These scammers know that selling meteorites according to the standards classified by the Meteoritical Society will inevitably lead to extreme confusion. But why should these scammers sell meteorites in this way?
These scammers have two major advantages in selling meteorites in this way:
A, If scammers sell meteorites according to the Meteoritical Society classification criteria, which will give consumers an illusion that the meteorites they sell are all identified and classified by The Meteoritical Society. In fact, this is a trap. The Meteoritical Society has no legal responsibility for any meteorites sold by scammers. The Meteoritical Society does not provide any identification services for meteorites. In fact, all meteorites sold by these scammers do not have a meteorite identification certificate issued by the Meteoritical Society. However, they added the Meteoritical Society's webpage to the product introduction column to give consumers a feeling that the meteorites they sold have been identified and classified by the Meteoritical Society. The Meteoritical Society even has no legal obligation even for any meteorites they name. Because The Meteoritical Society did not disclose the basis and process of their classification of meteorite, so they have no legal obligation to the authenticity of the "meteorite" that they named.
B, as scammers can sell meteorites in this chaotic mode to escape legal supervision. Although they claim that these meteorites have been classified and named by The Meteoritical Society, the meteorites they sold did not have a meteorite identification certificate issued by The Meteoritical Society, nor did they provide consumers with any evidence to prove that their meteorite is the meteorite that named by The Meteoritical Society. These scammers all claim to use their "credit" to guarantee the authenticity of the meteorite. As long as the scammers use their "imagination" and "credit" to guarantee the authenticity of their meteorite, then they can evade any legal obligations. No matter how much amount of fake meteorite they sell, they cannot be punished by law. No matter how much money consumers are cheated, they can't get justice through the law. As long as consumers buy meteorites according to the Meteoritical Society classification criteria, they fall into a trap.

The second important method of these scammers is "monopoly", the scammers on eBay are a family.
If a company (or an individual) sells fake meteorite for a long time, it will inevitably attract the attention of law enforcement agencies. However, frequent change of the seller's name is not conducive to establishing popularity and prestige among consumers. So it is a good idea to set up a meteorite dealer association. the scammers set up a meteorite dealer association — IMCA (https://imca.cc). This meteorite dealer association is similar to a company, and the meteorite dealers who sell meteorite are similar to many departments within a company. These meteorite dealers (or the company's departments) all claim to be members of IMCA. This has the advantage of increasing consumer awareness and trust of IMCA members, and thus monopolizing the sale of meteorites on eBay. Consumers will mistakenly believe that these meteorite dealers are independent individuals, they are in a competitive relationship, BUT their credit is guaranteed by IMCA. So consumers think they can buy meteorites from IMCA members with confidence. In fact, these IMCA members are a family.
The following facts can prove that they are a family, other meteorite dealers cannot join them.
The following text is on their website: "You will need the recommendations of two IMCA members for your application to be considered for approval. Please contact your two IMCA members and ask them if they are willing to submit a recommendation for you. These recommendations can be sent via email to [protected]@imca. cc."
You can also read on their website for details (https://imca.cc/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3&Itemid=13)
This evidence is sufficient to prove that IMCA members are a family.
The reason why they want consumers to think that their members are independent is to shirk their legal responsibilities. Once a consumer finds himself cheated, IMCA will come out and pretend to coordinate the conflict between his members and consumers. They want consumers to think that "the bad" is only the individual in the middle of IMCA, and IMCA as a whole will always only do the right and honest things. If one of the members of IMCA (similar to a company's department) can't get rid of the consumer's entanglement, they can fire "the bad", just like Gecko sacrificed his tail.
IMCA also has this text on its website: "Disclaimer
The I.M. C.A., Inc. (International Meteorite Collectors Association Inc.) prohibits members from engaging in any illegal activity in connection with meteoritic material. However, THE I.M. C.A. IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT OF ANY OF ITS MEMBERS."
Please refer to their website for detailed content, https://imca.cc/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5&Itemid=15
The above text can prove that IMCA will not bear any responsibility. The purpose of the establishment of IMCA is to gain the advantage of monopoly, not to assume any obligations.
This is why these scammers can successfully sell fake meteorite on eBay. First of all, they deliberately sold their meteorite with the Meteoritical Society classification standard. Although they all know that the Meteoritical Society classification standard is only suitable for meteorite research, it is impossible to use this standard for real meteorite trade. This standard can only cause confusion, but these scammers need this kind of confusion, so that they can use the authority of the Meteoritical Society to deceive consumers, and they can use the confusion of the Meteoritical Society's classification standards to escape legal supervision.
Another means is to establish an association like IMCA to gain an overall monopoly advantage, and can sacrifice individual when necessary to evade legal sanctions.

I have repeatedly warned eBay that these scammers use their management loopholes to sell fake meteorite, and hope they refuse to help these scammers. But it is a pity that eBay completely ignored my warning. eBay seems to value their 10% commission more, however completely ignores the interests of consumers who trust them. Without ebay to help them, this scam model of these scammers cannot be maintained for a long time.
eBay is actually can very easy to help his consumers, all eBay needs to do is:
A, Ask these meteorite dealers to provide meteorite identification certificates issued by the Meteoritical Society, or provide similar evidence to prove that their meteorites are meteorites classified by the Meteoritical Society. Otherwise, eBay should refuse to help these scammers sell "the Meteoritical Society's meteorite", and prohibit the copying of the Meteoritical Society's web page into its product introduction.
B. If they cannot provide evidence, they are required to clearly explain to consumers that the authenticity of their meteorite can only be guaranteed by their "credit".
If meteorite dealers can complete the above information disclosure, consumers will not have any complaints even if they are cheated.

Unfortunately, eBay is not willing to help consumers, they are more willing to draw a 10% commission from meteorite dealers. So I published this article to request you to help consumers get justice.

eBay Unethical behavior/poor practices

Aquarium Fish Tank LED Light Bar Airstone Bubble Pump with Remote Control
Item number:[protected]
Order number:[protected]
Seller: 4ladystreet
Price:AU $31.99

---
I need to explain the issue with the Seller to help you better understand the eventual issue with eBay.

---
The Issue with the Seller

In late May, I received a remote-controlled aquarium light from this vendor. The remote control did not work, so I contacted the seller to make them aware of the issue and everything I did to remedy the problem before contacting her about the defect.

The seller's response was to ask me to make a video showing that the remote did not work, email her the video or create a YouTube account, upload the video to YouTube, email her the link, and then she would try to help me troubleshoot the issue.
I made the video and attempted to email it to her, but it failed, of course. I declined the option to create a YouTube account, etc. It was at this stage that I asked for a refund.

I mailed the package on the 4th of June and checked my email shortly thereafter. The seller had contacted me and asked me not to return the item and informed me she mailed a new remote. I tried and tried to explain that I had already returned the item before reading her message, but if she would return the item to me, I would be satisfied to cancel the refund request.

---
The Problems with the Seller

1. Communication with this seller has not been ideal from the very beginning. I felt as though we were continuously having two separate conversations.
2. The seller was not within her legal right to ask me to prove the defect and should have informed me she planned to send a new remote despite my request for a refund.

I have never posted a negative review, and I have never returned an item before now, so I was not aware of how the process worked. When I received the message from eBay with the deadline to return the item, I did so with little thought.
The seller refuses to acknowledge that she has received the package and keeps requesting the tracking number. Unfortunately, it never occurred to me that I would need such information until she requested it sometime after the fact. I can't provide the tracking number, but it has been nearly a month since I mailed the package. There is no way the vendor has not received the item as I used the label from the original package to return the light.

There is no benefit to me to pretend like I mailed the package as I need a remote-controlled aquarium light. Plus, if I don't return the light, I don't receive my refund. And on top of everything else, I need to order another light, which I am seriously considering doing through Amazon because of the disastrous experience I have had with this one seller.

The thing is, if she had just mailed the replacement remote and receiver straight away instead of requesting a video, I would have no complaints. I would have a remote-controlled aquarium light, and I would have ordered a second light from this seller.

---
The Problems with eBay

I contacted eBay regarding this matter and their advice for me was to give the Seller a bad review in hopes of resolving the matter.

1) If eBay had included a few key pieces of information in their initial email and their deadline reminder email regarding 1) buyers can recoup postage and 2) save the receipt because the transaction number is a requirement, this entire situation could have been avoided in the first place.

2) I'd like to address the review process. eBay limits reviews to 80 characters, It's hard to convey a proper review when limited to 80 characters.

I also noted in the fine print at the bottom explaining that eBay gives automatic 5-star reviews for anything that they deem does not apply to your purchase. This seems like it's stacking the cards in the Seller's favor by deciding that they can make this decision for me.

If it doesn't apply to my purchase then there should be no review given for those aspects. We don't know what eBay is giving those 5-star reviews for on our behalves.

eBay Ebay

Since the pandemic, Ebay has allowed price gauging. Ebay says they don't tolerate this, but the items are still being sold at an outrageous price. Anything that has to do with canning. $25 vacuum seal jar lids are being sold on ebay for 50-60-and even over $100.00 for these lids. And Ebay is doing nothing about it. WHY? These people who are price gauging should be fined and taken off the website for a year. This is outrages what Ebay has become and nobody doing anything about it.

eBay and its approved set of vendors are behind the price gouging.

In typical fashion eBay states they are activily engaged in fighting price gouging while engaging in it themselves. A famous propaganda technique - accuse others what you are quilty of to divert attention from yourself.

eBay eBay resolution center

Purchased an item from an overseas seller, the received item was broken. Notified seller and seller replied "return item at your own expenses"
Contacted eBay resolution center. They intervene but the refund I got from seller in order to return the item was lower than the actual shipping cost. I notified eBay and the informed the following: eBay message "You can use the money that the seller sent to you to buy a return shipping label. If in case the money is not enough, just let us know so that we can further assist you."

I again contacted eBay in regards to the message received asking then to assist. Their reply was " Contact seller and request refund the difference for the return shipping cost paid by me. I strongly feel that when eBay step-in in a case is their responsibility contacting the seller not me. UNACCEPTABLE!

I was delivered an iphone that was far more damaged than seller described, but ebay sided with seller, and did not allow me the right ti return it.
Consequently, I decided to use the product in the condition it was received, and then found out that it was impossible to enter any information, as the keyboard failed to be displayed.
When I tried to contact the seller again, I discovered that he was no longer registered with ebay and I am unable to get help!

eBay Crazy bad review process - seller status issue and refusal to credit fees for reversed sale

This is crazy. I listed items for sale with eBay, and sold them. However, after the sale, the items remained active and for sale, which I had not realized, and still does not make sense to me. If I list one item for sale, why is the listing still active after the sale. I'm not saying I have many. It's a listing for 1 item. Anyway, I had to cancel 6 sales until I realized what was going on, then had to manually end the listings. I have 1100 positive ratings as buyer and seller. I have 100% rating as seller. But, only because of these 6 errors, which eBay refused to reverse, and which I still feel is not my fault for not knowing listings remain active even after completed sales, eBay lowered my seller rating, then started charging me not the usual 10% for sales, but 15%. Over and over I have been appealing my status since Dec. 2019. No go, their decision is final... Then, to add insult to injury, I had a buyer return an item, which reversed the sale. BUT, eBay is refusing to refund me the final value fee on this item, saying that the appeal period had closed. However, there is no appeal on my part. I am not appealing eBay's decision re: returns, only that I be refunded for the sale that did not happen. All this has added up to about $500 loss due, I earnestly believe, to no fault on my part. I have not deceived anyone, I have 100% positive seller feedback. eBay's crazy weird listing structure is what incurred my seller "errors". Plus, they won't credit me for reversed sale. I paid to have the item returned too.

So, after over a decade, I am looking for alternatives to eBay.

Sellers on eBay beware!

eBay Order # 04-04792-08137 daybed trundle frame metal slat platform twin mattress support universal pullout that I am complaining about.

I ordered the daybed for $ 82.57 in March, 2020 that was supposed to be delivered one month later except that I never received anything. I contacted the seller many times over to let him know that I never received the shipment; he claimed that according to Fedex website, the shipment was delivered on April the 8th, 2020. I was amazed to hear that because during the month of april, I communicated with the seller, he told me that the delivery date for the shipment is April 21- April 28; so I contacted on April 29th when I received nothing. That is when then he responded that it was delivered on April the 8th which is a lie. Nevertheless, I investigated and found out the delivery was for another daybed I ordered at walmart for $ 154.95 that had missing parts during the assembly and I returned it and got my money back. It has nothing to do with the daybed I ordered on ebay. Somehow the seller must have hacked into my computer system and found out that there was one I ordered at walmart and attributed to him with the same tracking number. Either way, they are different prices and Fedex confirmed to me that was a 82 pounds shipment from walmart not ebay. So the seller never responded except to tell me that the case is closed, the shipment was delivered on April the 8th while it was not. I am going to the lawyer office on an appointment to discuss the case because I am not going to let ebay eat my $ 82.57 without any consequences; I spent 8 hours to make that money, it was not easy. I want the seller to fulfill his obligation or return my money back on the card. This is corrupt and crooked business practice, this is a violation of the trust that I put on him.
