On/off press down switch doesn't stay down so kettle switches off. The kettle is 4years old and cost £85.

The kettle was bought online from Lakeland in July 2017. I contacted them and was told it is outside their warranty and i should contact dualit direct which i did in November 2021. Dualit said the same adding it is the nature of electrical appliances that sometimes things go wrong.

It is reasonable for me to expect that a kettle should boil water, it has no other purpose. This one does not.

Dualit have a legal duty of sale to have quality assessment processes and robust product design in place to sell a product of satisfactory durabilty.

I have been passed through their complaints procedure and most recently to their Commercial Director who says it is unfortunate that i am one of those people whose expectations are not met by their product.

It is a kettle that doesn't boil water.

I have requested a free replacement and been offered a discount on the purchase of a new one. I think this is unreasonable and want a free replacement.

The Commercial Director has not responded to my rejection of the discount purchase. Please can you help?

This kettle was accidentally knocked off the counter top resulting in the handle cover getting broken.

I have tried to get a replacement part to replace this and so far have been unable to do so. All the parts suppliers are saying parts other than the filters are unavailable.
Dualit as a brand is renowned for its serviceability and available parts.

I find this very disappointing that a simple plastic part makes this premium kettle unusable especially in the present environmental climate.

On 29.12.18 I purchased a new dualit cream done kettle from the Argos store. The kettle water gauge has perished, cracked and stated leaking. This could lead to electrocution or even burns if the boiled kettle gauge cracks completely. I have taken the kettle back to the Argos store but they inform me they no longer stock this item so, therefore, can not trace it on their system? Which I find rather incredulous but after speaking with the store Manager for 20 minutes, and getting no where fast, I sadly gave up. I bought this kettle, which was not cheap, to replace my old dualit kettle that I had had for years. As a trusted brand I would certainly expect the kettle to last more than a year. Unfortunately I do not have my receipt. I purchased the kettle online via the stores click and collect service but as the Manager advised me they have had 3 catalogues since then, and it was online there is nothing they can do. I am hoping you can help me with this matter.

My Dualit toaster almost caught fire when the timer stopped part way, and yet the elements stayed on, getting hotter and hotter. It seems this has happened to many people before me and fires have been caused as a result of this design fault. Fortunately I went back to toast a second round and found the toaster red-hot and potentially about to start a fire. I've spoken to Dualit customer services and, as is clearly the pattern, they blamed me, saying I should have switched the toaster off at the plug immediately after having taken my toast out of the machine - seriously? So what about a child or an elderly person with memory problems, would Dualit blame them? Well I was told that they shouldn't be allowed to use the toaster! They offered to send me a new timer for £27. I told them that this is totally unacceptable and that any risk assessment, which they are legally obliged to undertake, should have made it clear that a thermal cutout is required as a second line of defence. They then told me that new machines have a thermal cutout and if I send the machine to them, they will fit a new timer and thermal cutout for £36.30. Why did it take my interrogation to get to this point. Why isn't Dualit taking their legal duty of care seriously and making this suggestion to complainants as soon as they explain the problem? ...because that would be admitting liability and that is more important to them than customer health and safety? There's no mention of safety or the additional safety feature on their website either, presumably for the same reason. It's the last time I buy Dualit. For safety and reliability you have to buy German these days, I am sad to say.

The Dualit 84036 Coffee Maker is in my opinion the worst thing anyone could possible buy to make coffee. It's hard to use, hard to clean and expensive. A cheap filter machine will produce FAR FAR better results, it definitely has done for me.
