DriveTime Automotive Group Used 2014 chevrolet cruze

falling on hard times after losing my Car due to flooding in hurricane Delta, I had little to No Choices in getting financed for a new car. I was elated when I Stumbled upon the add for this dealership that helps people Iike myself get financed for a vehicle. I was even more pleased when I learned of the low down Payment. I had been driving a Rental car (out of Pocket expense) to go to work and had saved up a little Bit of money. I drove from Louisiana to Houston arriving just before closing. The salesman was young But super friendly. His Sales pitch was almost as if he was reading an invisible Script. Before looking at cars, I was sat at a desk where I shared my hardship and what led me there. I provided a few documents and was told I qualified for a vehicle which was such a Relief. I was then given an option Between 2 vehicles. I drove Both in the Parking lot and ultimately chose the 2014 chevy cruze. After Being sold a dream, including all the Bells and whistles of warranties and anti-theft stuff (which I never used once to this day). I Drove Back to Louisiana (which automatically voided my choice to Return or exchange ) . The first week I noted the car was not Running right. As a woman, I didn't know what was the problem. Thankfully, a family friend did a complete tune up including changing plugs, wires, air filter and an oil change. Perfect. The Car continued to allow me to do my job. in spite of the almost $600 car note and almost $300 insurance, I did have a little left over for utilities, food and gas. fast forward a few months. I again found myself with a decrease in my working hours and a huge decrease in income. At the same time, the car started having coolant issues. It would overheat and Show warnings on the dash. No leaks detected. It was Burning coolant. I had the water pump changed, which helped for about a week Before it started overheating again. I bought coolant system leak Repair at Walmart which was not effective for about 3 days. Then Suddenly, it was no longer overheating. Problem solved. I did Research and discovered there were many Recalls on this year and model car. No evidence of Repairs. I did find that the Vin number on my car lead to 3 different listings for Sale. Each listing had the car a different color. Seems fishy or at least questionable. On a Saturday night as me and my granddaughter were traveling from South Louisiana to North Arkansas, it suddenly overheated. As I pulled over and filled the Reservoir with coolant (as I had become a pro at doing), it took longer than usual to cool down enough to get Back on the Road. Well this time it only took about one mile Before it started loosing power and showing high temps and warning lights, Thankfully, I was able to pull into a gas station where I paid almost $20 for a gallon of coolant that did not help in anyway. Needless to say, I was stranded 3 hours away from home and 3 hours away from my husband who thankfully came to the Rescue. Upon arriving, he attempted to find the problem. No luck. The only option was to leave the car there and Return when we could. In the meantime, an emergency in the family had me trying to get Back to Louisiana. Attempts at Renting a car were unsuccessful. (another upsetting prey on Consumers). Ultimately we had to spend more than $300 in gas for my husband to Bring me home and immediately Return to Arkansas. One more attempt was made at Repairing my car. My husband purchased a thermostat and Returned to my car and changed the part (in the dark). Did NOT WORK! The car still overheated after another $20 gallon of coolant. (more consumer abuse). So here I am with a car that don't run, no way to get to work which Results in no Money for car insurance (flag on license = More money owed and more issues) or car note. Not once did any extra incentives I purchased help in any way. I am now facing Repossession and no chance of financing for another car loan. So It is true, as I Read from another consumer " Drive time (BridgCrest) does not sell you a vehicle. The Sell you debt ". Oh and on a 2014 Chery cruze, I owe $27,000.00. Who loses in this situation?

Desired outcome: Repaired Reliable Vehicle as a fair price. No special favors. Just asking to get what I pay for.

DriveTime Automotive Group 2016 kia sorento

I would like to be added to the Class Action Lawsuit against Drive time for selling me a lemon. I purchased a 2016 Kia Sorento from them on September 17th, 2022 and my engine died on me November 19th, 2022. Drive time pushed me to the warranty company that I purchased with the vehicle and was told they just sale cars and not fix them. Long story short the Kia Dealership ended up replacing my engine with a new one almost 2 months later because of a class action lawsuit for certain engines. I had to pay for a rental car for 45 days until my vehicle was fixed. Drive time was no help at all and rude at times. Just took my money!

Desired outcome: Compensation for the inconveniences, stress and frustration. Especially by still having to pay a car note, insurance and a rental causing me to fall behind in bills. It was very depressing and frustrating.

DriveTime Automotive Group 2014 volkswagen jetta

In January 2021 I purchased a car from drivetime in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania out of sheer desperation. I had lost my job and that made my credit score low and was beginning a new job so I needed transportation. This was the only place with an adorable down payment. I gave $900 down and was told I was signing a 2 year loan. I have not missed a payment and I pay an extra $45 every 2 wells on top of the payment due. It’s now august 2022. I financed 14000 initially and today I owe over $15000,00. How is that even possible? I can’t get any information online about when this will be paid off and contacting them is a joke. They posted upon me in a time of nerd and I fell for it out of desperation. Predatory lending is illegal and they should be sued out of business.

Desired outcome: I will return the vehicle and they will consider the loan paid in full.

DriveTime Automotive Group False Information Given/ Lies To have me Return The Car!!!!!

So I just moved to NC and I really need a car because I needed to get to work. I knew I should have waited but I went to drivetime. When the guy was talking he seemed okay. I mean I keep questioning and then He finally gave me a deal I thought was good. I was hustled. He told me one thing and then he told me there would be things he added. I told him I needed it in writing he stated that it was done on the computer. So once I paid for everything I was there for like 6 hours they were actually closing the store. I was just so ready to go. The next day I went over the paper and nothing we discuss he put down. hen I called and no one know who helped me. They said they could honor it. Going forward there was an engine recall on my car and at 1st it was new no one knew how to deal with it. saying different things. I called Bridgecrest and asked what my options were on a recall that could not be repaired they said to pay out of pocket which was more than what the car was worth or let them come get and void it out. Of course, I trusted the rep and I let them pick it u[p. Well, I have not heard anything since 2019. I am just hearing something now 06/30/2022. I just spoke with both complained They were so rude and called me a liar.

Desired outcome: I want this item removed from my credit report because it was based on a lie.

DriveTime Automotive Group Ruined My Life and Credit

I got a 2008 Ford Edge. It was almost paid off when the computer went out. The repairs were $5,000. The amount owed was still $12,000. The car was worth $1300. I did everything I could to try to get the car fixed. I could not trade it in because I was upside down. I told DriveTime/Bridgecrest several times to come pick up their car. They refused. I offered to pay the KBB on it and they refused that offer too. They literally said, "we will not come get the car because it doesn't run. It has no value". Instead of midigating their damages. They charged the car off for over $12,000. I was forced to store their car for over 2 years. I moved to another state for work and had to have the car towed. I am now homeless because I cannot find work. I'm an accountant but have been denied jobs because of this charge off on my credit.

Desired outcome: Credit restoration, compensation for storing their property for 2 years, and 1 years worth of salary.

DriveTime Automotive Group Automobile

8 days after my purchase my Elantra shut down while in work. After ,3 days with the mechanic they shop determined I was sold a car without oil. They checked the dip stick and it was dry. Is that something I should've checked? Like isn't it being sold out of a dealership the usually looks under the hood before the sell it. I tell you DRIVETIME cleans the heck out of their vehicles it seems that all they do. I've already been approved but another dealer I will simply not pay the note. I own my home and other item I will not care about them if they do t give a crap about me. Drive time buckle up cause I will not give up

Desired outcome: Take the vehicle back and null my account all together

DriveTime Automotive Group Rip Off

I purchased a 2018 Kia Soul in September 2021 at 75,000 miles at DriveTime in Gastonia NC. I wasn’t given Kia information on the vehicle at the time of purchase. I maintained al routine checkups and oil changes on the vehicle. I’m April 2022 the engine blew. I contacted SilverRock Warranty (which DriveTime required me to purchase in order to buy the vehicle) and they directed me to take my car to Meineke. I did that-they directed me Kia. I contacted Kia Consumer Affairs and they told me to take my car to their dealership. They then inform me after diagnostics were ran they they would not cover my engine due to me not activating my warranty at the time of purchase.

I informed them that DriveTime gave me no information on that. So now I’m stuck with a car payment with a vehicle that won’t run. I’ve only had the car for 9 months!

Desired outcome: A new Car or my Engine Replaced

DriveTime Automotive Group Harassment

I bought a car from Drivetime almost a year ago. I have been late a couple of times due to losing my job and waiting for unemployment to kick in and then waiting on my first paycheck when I got a new job. Yes, I do understand that they will call if you are late. I even understand them calling you daily. But I receive between 3 and 8 calls PER DAY from their robo calling system and each time I get a voice mail left. This is harassment!

Desired outcome: To stop being harassed daily!

DriveTime Automotive Group Car Purchase

My name is Eric Paige [protected]. I have a major complaint that almost ruined me and took my life. I am not good with typing. Call for more details.

I had finally landed my dream job working for the state in Sept 2021. After a few checks I went to DriveTime Richmond VA. I live an hour away in Farmville VA. I didn't have the car for 48 hrs. It was lemon. I told them about it and they said I had to bring it back to them. I told them it wouldn't make it back to Richmond. DriveTime insisted, so I took a chance on my life and drove it back. On the way, it broke down and I hit the bumper, but when I got there, did they care that I could have lost my life...HELL NO! Then they gave me a hard time because of the bumper. So I got nowhere with them. I was mad as hell, if I would have reacted I would be writing this from a jail cell.. They have my down payment and I am stuck with a lemon. I lost my job NOV 2021, I lost the roof over my head DEC 2021, I am unemployed and homeless for months. My anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts were out of control. I have literally just crawled myself out of that black hole.

I didn't think there would be any punishment for what they have done. Now that I know I am not the only one. I am willing to look them in the eye and tell them how they almost ruined my life.

Desired outcome: I wanted them to just replace the car, but now. I just want my down payment back, I want nothing to do with ever again.

DriveTime Automotive Group Hyundai Santa Fe 2013

My husband and I went to Drive Time in Greenville SC on April 11,2022 to purchase a vehicle. We purchased a Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2013. Or should I say we got it financed through Bridgecrest. Since we have had the vehicle it’s been in the shop twice. The first time was for the buttons on the steering wheel not working. We had an appointment for the radio as wheel because the Bluetooth would not connect. Well we never made it to that appointment. On Sunday May 1st the car just completely stop working. We had to get it towed to a shop. The shop was recommended from Silver Rock that’s who the car warranty is through. The mechanics there told us that once they get the car started they would be able to tell us what the issue s were. So they replaced the starter. Got it going and immediately heard knocking in the Engine. Now the entire engine needs to be replaced. We have been on the phone with Silver Rock, and DriveTime. We asked if we could either get our money back or either they give us another vehicle in place of the one we have. The guys was rude and told us that those were not options. We have called every dealership for Hyundai and can not get an appointment for the car to get a diagnostic done for the car for at least 6 months. They will not give us a rental until then or anything. I need help to see what yo do next

Desired outcome: I would like a refund or the car picked up and the loan cancelled for the car.

DriveTime Automotive Group Drive times predatory usury financing/warranty

I purchased a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan in June 2020. I have made all of the payments, but have only paid $2,000 to the principal of this loan, through Bridgecrest, financing company owned by Drive Time.

I have paid over $10,000 in 2 years on this this loan.

When I attempted to refinance this vehicle, I was told about the warranty on on the vehicle taking all the payments, and going directly to Drive Time. I am already past the milage on the warranty and cannot cancel it. If I continue to pay this loan I would still owe $4,000 + and this after paying on it for 6 years. I am upside down in this loan and cannot refinance now.

This is predatory and usury. I had no idea that this was happening until last week. This is wrong.

Desired outcome: Cancel This Loan.

DriveTime Automotive Group Over priced a high mileage vehicle with problems.

I bought a Honda truck from drive time and traded in a Chevy S10 for down payment. A few weeks after purchasing the vehicle the tires started peeling from tire rot. I called them and they said it was my problem. I ended up buying all new tires. Cost me around 800 dollars, then driving it 6 weeks the exhaust broke off. I spent 1,100 to replace. I called drive time they said natural wear and tear. Their interest was way to high and with all the problems. I just parked the vehicle and told them to come get it. They never came to pick up the truck I got lots of harassing calls until I just had to quit talking to them. I moved and a few years went by and they finally came and got it. Now they appear on my credit report stating I owe them over 12,000 dollars.

I purchased the vehicle around 2015 from drive time in Pflugerville Texas. Horrible customer service and they took no responsibility for problems with the vehicle.

Desired outcome: I would like it removed from my credit report as well as that I don't owe them due to the fact they took my good running Chevy and sold me a truck with problems and over inflated price.

DriveTime Automotive Group Drive time - Sold a vehicle that couldn’t pass inspection…

I was sold a 2011 Nissan Pathfinder at the end of November 2018. It came with a 30 day warranty and per the salesman at the Raleigh Nc DriveTime, he told me to get the vehicle looked over within the 30 days because they cover any issues. The vehicle shook a lot within the first few days and I was told that’s normal it may need an alignment. I started having other issues immediately and took it to a repair shop provided through silver rock - the warranty company DT uses. Upon the mechanic pulling it into the garage, a coolant hose broke and all the fluid poured out. We were told until that was authorized to be fixed, they couldn’t look further into the vehicle issues (the shaking, the vehicle cutting off, and the battery dying for no reason). It took a week for someone from Silver Rock to go to the auto shop and approve the repair. We had to get a rental car to get around, while still making payments. The mechanics recommended about $4,500 in repairs, of which Silver Rock only approved half of that. I was told 100% would be done within the first 30 days, that was a lie. 2 weeks later I got the vehicle back and it leaked oil that same day, so through the process and back to the shop. They fixed that issue but had to jump start the car upon pick up. This issue along with the shaking and the car shutting off, check engine light on, caused the vehicle to be in and out of several mechanic shops for the course of 2 years. I accumulated over $6,000 in rental car and repair fees, while paying the car payment. I reached out to DT several times and sent them information stating the suspension was shot, the vehicle had rear, driver side, and front impact from an accident at one point (I was told a mild fender bender when I initially got the vehicle, lie) and their GPS tracker for the vehicle was improperly installed causing a drain on the battery. It also needed a mass inflow sensor, catalytic converter and sensors, torque converter, and a new battery and wiring. They refused to assist with anything and stated Silver Rock had to approve, Silver Rock stated it was on DT. Most of the items I had to pay for myself to repair, even though they were safety issues and caused the vehicle to not run. In 2020 Provision Tune Up in Greensboro, stated the GPS tracker needed to be replaced because it was draining the battery, they replaced it and removed some fuses for the inside lights. They could not feel the vehicle shaking and vibrating and passed the inspection. They had my vehicle for 30 days. Fast forward to 2021 January, Firestone in Burlington stated the vehicle could not pass inspection due to an improperly installed GPS tracker and they aren’t sure how the vehicle ever passed inspection. They recommended taking the car to a Nissan dealership for a second opinion. The Nissan dealership repair department in Burlington informed me the GPS tracker was installed improperly and illegally. The vehicle legally could not and never could pass state inspections with the way DriveTime installed this device. It is the reason the battery had to be replaced several times and why the car would die and need to be jump started. Nissan removed the device and repaired the damage to the wire hareness. They passed the vehicle inspection and there have not been battery issues since. The first few years I owned this vehicle it spent more than half of that time in a shop, while I spent thousands on repairs and a rental car, while making payments and maintaining insurance. I went through the NCDOJ to get in touch with DT. The women who assisted from out of Arizona, stated DT would reimburse $99 for the rental car cost and would buy the vehicle back for just over $5,000. I had already invested close to $20,000 in the vehicle and felt this was unacceptable. I was sold a vehicle that did not run, had safety issues (the improper wiring could have cause a vehicle fire, the vehicle shut off while driving it, and the battery died often), and due to an unnecessary GPS device they installed, the vehicle could not legally pass Nc state inspection. DT took no accountability and did not offer a reasonable solution on any level. Unfortunately, it seems the NCDOJ and local attorneys are not prepared or are unwilling to take on a big corporation like DT, even though they violated the laws and sell people lemons, myself included. I just wanted the vehicle fixed - to be safe and to run properly, and reimbursed for my out of pocket repair and rental car expenses. I spent so many hours on the phone with DT, silver rock, and repair places, I missed work, and the amount of stress and anxiety this caused, to not receive a reasonable resolution and continue to pay the $32,000 for a vehicle that cost $16,000 and was worth much less. How can they sell vehicles that are dangerous and don’t pass inspection?

Desired outcome: I would like to be reimbursed for the repairs I made out of pocket and for the rental vehicle I had to get. I would also like to be reimbursed for the payments I made while the vehicle sat in the shop for weeks/months at a time.

DriveTime Automotive Group Straight up lied to

I just find out that I did 25 payments of $441 on a basic 2015 accent Hyundai preowned and still owe $12000. Ok some of you would say I seen it in contract right…..$15000 is all I seen and I asked the salesmen about the interest and everything. He told me that I had three years to get the $15000 off before I have to worried about paying over $30000 for a used car! I want to get out of this contract and tell everyone I know don’t go to Deathdrive.

My driver side door/window been acting up and the thing that hold the battery is broken but really didn’t know. So I have to twist screws before driving off. I did get the car with scratches and front bumper problem.

Desired outcome: Get out of contact and give Car back

I have a similar scenario. They took advantage of the fact that I had my four year old and two and half year old with me.I was signing a contract on a computer with two toddlers. Not to mention my older son that was starving, because it ended up being an all day event. After leaving with it and drove around a little bit I would feel it lift up on the front right side. At this time the car dealership is already closed. Later that night I took it to the grocery store. I felt the car doing the same thing this time it caused me to hit a curb. This is all in the same day of buying it. On a Tuesday. With all my schedules I wasn't able to take it back up there until that Saturday. Still with in the five days. They said that I could not rescind the loan and I needed to do an insurance claim. Not only was something wrong with the car, I was able to read over my papers and the contract. Somehow, there was a page titled “Simple interest Retail Installment Contract” that I had not seen before. And of course there are no signatures. For a 2013 Nissan Quest the amount being financed is 19, 862.27. At first it was 14, 757.77. Wow that’s a jump. 151 payments of 277.27 and then one at 275.34. With my 500 deposit my total paid will be 42, 643.11. NO WAY. For a 2013. They need to take their vehicle back and let single mothers be. They should have never sold me that car to begin with.

DriveTime Automotive Group Payments & customer service, warranty fraud

I'm writing after several months of waiting for other resolutions in regard to the warranty and repairs on the vehicle and nothing ever came about, I waited patiently. and I still made my payments now on top of still waiting for silver rock another company that works with drive time that has failed me miserably and never followed up left me with a vehicle that allowed the warranty to expire no I have to worry about fraud with the Caribbean customer service workers as well as the drive time website that shows bridge crest as being the only bank and they do not have a management or complaint or a fraud department I have called multiple times and made multiple payments on top of payments that are not even reflecting on my account let alone having an email sent to me yesterday saying that I had to pay again when my payment isn't due till the end of the month I pay twice a month $248.01 on top of that I use my bank's routing and account number so it should have been fee free.

I have been charged fees on top of my payments and not once complained I've had a very bad experience from the beginning when I first initiated drive time as someone who is recovering from domestic violence sexual abuse and trafficking myself and my child building myself and drive time was the perfect fit I was mistreated at the dealership level had to go to a whole different dealership to pick up a vehicle someone in corporate contacted me and said OK this is what we're going to do for you because it was eminent that I was mistreated but then I never heard from that corporate entity again in the regard of the above aforementioned in the below details excerpts of video photographic evidence as well as written evidence of my phone calls because I'm starting to see a pattern either no one communicates with me at all when they're at fault or I get an email telling me randomly that my automatic payment didn't go through I don't have automatic payment I've never set up automatic payment unless my payment is due and I see all my payments on the website as per the attached so I'm not sure what's going on or why I'm being forced to speak to Ridgecrest when their operators are clearly from another country and are being told that if anyone I rate just simply hang up on them instead of helping them sending a proper message I'm being faced with being hung up on because the incorrect notes are on my account at the moment and so they already perceived me once I identify myself upon calling as being someone who's hostile I'm not a hostile individual at all I'm someone who's trying to protect the little money that I have which does not show on your email to me that you guys have my best interest or that the entity that you partner with which is bridgecrest has my best interest I shouldn't pay anything above what I already pay which is way too much for a 2014 Fiat that has the check engine light on since I complained and have taken that video evidence. I've waited patiently because I was told to do so the warranty has expired no one has reached out to me no problem now you're messing with my money and treating me in the same way so now this is the third thing that I have to worry about about about about since doing business with drive time.

Bridgecrest silver rock I'm not sure but this is a street I need resolution I'm asking someone from corporate to contact me from drivers so that I don't have to write a review right time exists for people who are trying to pass of doing so I should not be treated as such. I NEED REAL HELP HERE AND NO MORE RUN AROUND, please

Desired outcome: FIX MY CAR, FIX MY ACCOUNT, BE HONEST AND REALLY HELP ME IS THAT WHAT DRIVE TIME COMMERCIALS USE TO SAY...I AM NOT A BAD PERSON SO WHY AM I TARGETED THIS IS THE THIRD TIME SOMETHING WRONG HAPPENS AND I HAVE WAITED. PATIENTLY

DriveTime Automotive Group 2013 Chevy equinox

I bought/leased a 2013 Chevy equinox from DriveTime in Nov 2021. After two weeks the vehicle had break failure on all 4 wheels, and a check engine light. While under warranty I took the vehicle in and DriveTime's warranty company silver rock sent their insurance claim adjuster to the shop. They refused to fix the back breaks and told the shop to just clear the check engine light without fixing it because I was near the end of the limited warranty. I then got the vehicle back and two weeks later the back breaks that was refused to be fixed under warranty lead to the rear differential going out and breaking the transfer case. I then get ahold of DriveTime by filling out a form with the attorney's general. They reached out told me to get a estimate of repair. I then take it back to the same shop, and I sent the 4800 plus repair cost estimate to DriveTime. They refused to do anything and told me to contact silver rock. I then explained to silver Rock that the vehicle has broke down because of the work they refused to do while under warranty. They then told me that there was nothing they will be willing to do. I have filled a complaint with BBB and am waiting for a response. So out of a month I was able to drive the vehicle for 2 1/2 weeks and am now still paying payments on the 13, 000 dollar vehicle.

Desired outcome: Refund, repair, or replacement vehicle

DriveTime Automotive Group I was sold a lemon

In July 2017 I purchased a 2011 Dodge Caravan from Drive Time in Bedford Hts, Oh. After two weeks of having the van, my AC went out. Since then the car has had more mechanical issues than I can count. I was sold a lemon! I contacted DriveTime several times and no assistance was given! Not only that the finance company Bridgecrest is also fraudulent and has caused so many issues with my vehicle! Here we are in 2021 and I have to get my car out for a wrongful repossession that THEY they are NOT taking any responsibility for at all! I am horribly disgusted with this company and wish to file a lawsuit or become part of a class action lawsuit against both DriveTime and Bridgecrest

Desired outcome: Take this car back without it hurting my credit and reimbursement for all the repairs and wrongful repossession.

They screwed up payments, direct pay took double than had the wrong account listed and tried to take it from them payments were made, we kept contact our next payment date was the days repoed no notice no reason we never received paperwork til 4 months after they sold it at auction...the car was gone before it had been 15 days and we had been 8n an accident that morning, we have no car to show insurance

Desired outcome: We owe you nothing

DriveTime Automotive Group Drivetime

I wish I would have did my research BEFORE I purchased a car from DRIVETIME! I did not even have my car for 2 months when the engine Blew while driving on the highway! Called Raleigh, Nothing! Called corporate have a "Case Manager" Brandi (if that's her name, tell me that "these things happen"and "that is the chance you take" when purchasing a used car"! A BLOWN ENGINE, really! An engine blowing is a Major defect and could have caused myself and my daughter serious injury or even death.
Is there any recourse? I am here almost 2 weeks without a car, yet Bridge wants their money!
