Dressbarn Disappointing Experience with Dressbarn Online

As a long-time customer of Dressbarn, I was excited to shop online, but my experience was disappointing. The quality of the items I received did not match what I expected, and when I tried to return them, I faced numerous challenges. Customer service was virtually non-existent, with no refunds offered, only store credits. It felt like my money was being held hostage. I will not be shopping with Dressbarn again after this experience.

Dressbarn Return credit never processed - kept my return

I placed an order last October and the item didn't fit. I didn't read the return policy and although disappointed, I could only get store credit. They received the return but have never been able to get information on how to use the credit. I've sent multiple emails through their Contact Us page and all I get are responses stating they have high volume and they will get back to me asap or a followup that says we are working on it. I've tried calling the 800 number I found and I just get disconnected. I used to love Dress Barn but this is crazy! They accept my return AND KEEP MY MONEY! Buyer beware!

Desired outcome: At this point would just want a refund

Dressbarn Refund

Last year I had purchased several items which totaled roughly $104. I requested a refund and shipped the items back. The refund I received was for approximately $42. I contacted customer support and they fixed the issue but only provided the money to me as a gift card number. They did not add the gift card to my account. I was required to keep the gift card information in the email. The email was mistakenly deleted and now they wont respond to my request to get another gift card number. It is clear by my account information I have not purchased anything since the original refund. Just give me the new number and I can purchase something else. I don't have the email the code was in but I do have one email that shows I had some message traffic requesting the original refund.

Desired outcome: New gift card number for the full amount due to me.

Dressbarn Two orders that were returned

I purchase some items on 9/24/22 and 10/18/22, some of them did not fit so I returned them with Dressbarn's label and within the 30 day they were recieved by Dressbarn. I have not recieve a in store credit for either order. I have sent numerous email and chats with no response. All the phone numbers are disconnected and there in no live person in the chat. DO NOT BUY FROM DRESSBARN unless you are willing to lose your money.

Dressbarn Returns/refunds

Placed an order November 25, 2022 received order December 7th 2022.

Realized wrong size, never opened the package the clothes came in. Proceeded to email for a return label on December 7th 2022. Heard back from an automatic response December 9th 2022. Asked for a return label then. No response, emailed (4th) time December 18th. Finally got a response from a Jasper Celera December 20th 2022, went through the whole thing again with him. After 3 weeks finally got a return label. Sent it out the very next day. The total was for $59.97, again unopened packages.

Got an email January 3rd 2023 with a gift card attached of $18.16. Sent an email that exact day saying that my total was for $59.97 and I received a incorrect gift card for $18.16.

Have yet to hear anything sent out repeated emails January 9th, 11th, 21st, and today the 31st 2023. Have heard nothing.

I've been looking to find a phone number to be able to call the 2 I found were not valid.

All I wanted to do was exchange it for the correct size. So now I have no pants and they have taken my money. This has now been 2 months since this has been going on. I've read their return policy and was in the area of their return time. I do have all my emails and responses or lack of, from them.

Request numbers from dressbarn automatic emails... Along with pictures of all the emails sent and received with timestamps and dates.

Dressbarn Dressbarn is the absolute worst.

Dressbarn is just stealing from its customers at this point. I still have not received items from a Nov. 13 order. After trying to message, email, call regularly about this, figured leaving a review could be the only way to get an answer. I would like a full refund of actual money- not store credit. Some of the items aren't even available any more on the website. My order number is 1541760.

Dressbarn Refund unreceived; credit card charged

I purchased pants and boots from Dress Barn back in November 2022. The pants arrived but did not fit. I reached out to return and for a refund. I was sent a label to return the items. I returned them via usps on November 12, 2022. The boots never arrived so i asked Dress Barn to cancel that part and refund. A week later after i returned i reached out to Dress Barn regarding my refund, they told me i had to wait 7 days. It has been more than 6 weeks, they stopped responding to my emails and i still have not been refunded my $133. I am on a fixed income and do not have money to give away for clothes i do not have. The items were returned as the label indicated and my usps receipt to North Canton, Ohio.

Desired outcome: I would like this company to honor their email response of my receiving a refund back to my credit card.

Dressbarn No email receipt or delivery date. 800 number not working

I place an order on 12/06 for some items for wife's Christmas but nothing delivered yet. Spent $125.57 on 12/06. I have used Dress Barn in the past but like a lot of other businesses, customer service has really gone downhill. Can't talk with anyone to get quicker results. My budget is very tight and spending this much money at one store is a lot. Really needs a response in 24 hours.

Dressbarn Closeout?

I placed an order online with DressBarn on 11/25/22

It is now 12/14/22

I have yet to receive it. The only email message I received after the initial confirmation said that they were "having trouble processing" my order.

I cannot get ahold of any kind of customer service. When I look up my order by tracking number, it still says "processing."

Not sure what to do. I'd like either my money back or to get my order, but neither seems to be happening.

Dressbarn My credit card balance dress barn

I'm trying to contact anyone who can help me. When db in my area closed I stopped using my credit card & cut it up! Since then i've been paying 60.00 a month with no purchases! I want to know how much I still owe... I have to re - adjust my finances thanks to our government. I don have my account number but, I can answer all your questions to prove it is me (kathleen grimard). Please help me!

Dressbarn Dressbarn wrong merchandise sent.

Order # 1474216 August 22 2022 as a frequent customer of Dressbarn ordered two tops I really liked. Received them in several days. Completely wrong merchandise I Received. I called and was told to send them back but I would have to pay. I refused and said the company was responsible. Said they were mailing out a prepaid return label. Never received it. They wanted pictures of the tops I received and the tops I ordered. Sent picture. It is now Sept 14th and after calling everyday I have been told one false promise after another. I have been hung up on and ignored. Sent dozens of pictures and they still don’t get it. After a month I was finally connected to a supervisor and was told after a month it was being escalated . Just received an email today and all they cared about was receiving the wrong merchandise back nothing about satisfying what I have been thru for the past month. Won’t do anything until they get the wrong order back. After a month I no longer trust this company. I want my correct order if it is still in stock and then I will return the wrong order. I cannot go through another month of endless phone calls and explaining

Dressbarn Wrong dress sent with no credit

I bought a dress on July 3 from dress barn and initially wanted to cancel the order. They never responded to my emails, and then when I got the dress it was a completely different dress. I called and finally got through and the gentleman promised to credit my bank card. I never received a credit even after returning the dress so I emailed them and they gave me a gift card for less than amount owed. The dress they gave me also was extremely poor quality and so wrinkled you couldn't see the pattern. Now I find out that they have very deceiving policies based around a very anti consumer law in Texas that says that they do not need to provide store policy unless you ask for it. Since getting acquired by tai lopez the company has gone down hill. I will complain every day until I receive my money back.

Desired outcome: I would like a full refund to my account.

Dressbarn Dressbarn return label requested many times since 6/13/2022 but not yet provided

Dear Complaints Board,

Thank you for being here. Here is a copy of all the information I've been using to try and get a response from Dressbarn since I made the mistake of ordering a dress from them on 6/7/2022 and now need to return it for credit refund.

However, they do not respond. It seems they may be punishing me for not wanting the $9.99/month subscription membership they tried to sneak into my online shopping cart when I went to checkout and buy the dress.

If I can ever get free of this insidious grip they've hooked me and are holding me in limbo with, I will never buy from them again and I will warn others to watch out for their unethical business practices.

Please send me what’s needed to return a dress I received recently after ordering it online 6/7/2022 for credit refund.

Dressbarn Return with quality of product

On or around the first week of March 2022, I purchased what I believed to be a very nice dress. I had a difficult time getting what size I needed because they very seldom have any in my size and only show small sizes!

When it arrived on March 16th it was in a

6” x 6” package. The dress was completely wadded up and most definitely a mess! It was cheaply made and type of material was very thin and would have been a nightmare to try and get wrinkles out. I never even tried it on and immediately asked for a return label. It was returned the next day! I am so very disappointed in Dressbarn! I can honestly say I probably spent thousands in their actual stores over the past years! The quality was exceptional! They did give me a store credit and after I requested the credit be returned to my credit card because they had absolutely nothing on the website that was worth a penny and nothing I would ever purchase, they advised me that they would give me a 130% store credit! This still didn’t resolve the problem because their items were cheap looking, prices way to high for quality and had nothing I wanted or ever would want! They again advised me they only issued store credits! I went through EVERY item on the website, when I selected a item it always showed size “04” and nothing close to size I needed. This is very frustrating since most of my work clothes previously were purchased from the OLD Dressbarn! I believe this Dressbarn.com is taking peoples money and taking advantage of the name!

I have contacted customer service several times but they continue to tell me I must spen money with them for something I would never wear!

Desired outcome: My refund full amount of money returned to my original card! No store credit!! I would very much like a response!

Dressbarn No refunds policy

I ordered three items from Dressbarn on April 27, 2021. They immediately charged my credit card despite nothing being shipped to me. I received one item a few days later and it was poor quality and not true to size. I went to return it but was told they do not issue refunds, only merchandise credit. After a week, the other two items had never been sent so I called to find out where they were because I needed them for an event and they told me the items hadn't yet shipped. I said I wanted to cancel them and they said, "Sorry, it's too late. You'll just have to return the items when you get them, for a merchandise credit only." It is ridiculous that they do not offer refunds and that they charge you before any merchandise has even been shipped. I now have no use for these items, assuming they ever arrive and am out $132+ with a company I will never order from again.

Dressbarn Order a dress

I ordered a dress almost two weeks ago and have not heard a thing. I have written numerous emails and got a generic reply that said they would get back with me that they are looking into it. I have heard nothing. I have no tracking number just an order number. I would just like to know where the dress is that I ordered and a tracking number. In their add it says that it takes about twos days to ship out. It doesn't even say they are working on the shipping of the dress. Nothing!

Dressbarn Price adj

As short as I can make this, I shopped at the dressbarn on hall road in shelby on wednesday october 29th... Spent over 200.00. The dresses I purchased were not on sale. I returned the one dress today to the chesterfield store which now has going out of business signs on the windows. I asked the clerk if I could get a price adjustment on the dress I purchased two days ago for 89.99. She said no. I said what if I return it?.. She says we have to hold on to the merchandise for 48 hours. I' m like what?.. No wonder they are going out of business. It's about the company, not the guest or the customer. Are you serious?.. I've worked retail for over 35 years, please the guest... I've shopped at this store for many years, and now tell me no price adjustment?... I guess they get what they deserve... Just upset me

Dressbarn unprofessional and rude employee

Hello, I would like to report an employee who was acting unprofessional, rude, and discriminatory. On October 19, 2019 at about 7:30 P.M., a lady who worked here walked up to me and out of nowhere, yelled in a very bossy tone at me for pacing around a store like a 5 year old. I have autism and I tend to do that, I do not mean to cause any harm. It is a way to get my emotions out. She demanded to walk like "a normal person" in the store, or to get out, pointing at the door. I did not like the manner she was talking in and I was not going to take her disrespectfulness. So, I stayed calm and gently asked her to say in a nicer tone. She then replied that she wasn't yelling and acting bossy when she clearly was. When she walked away, I told her that she was rude behind her back and she blamed me for raising my voice at her when I was scared and I was trying to get my point across. Then I quickly sprinted out the door, tears on my face from the way she acted towards me. I complained about it to my mom, who was waiting in the car. She was very displeased, so she hopped out of the car and entered the store. I pointed out the lady and she confronted her. She notified the lady that I had a disability and I did not mean to pace around the store. The lady told her that I should be accompanied by an adult because I'm autistic. I'm high functioning and should be allowed to freely walk around in a store without assistance. Then she said she understands autistic people, when, judging from her words, clearly doesn't. She does not understand that there are high-functioning people with autism who can be fully independent. My mom left the last words to her, "Be kinder next time." We left the store. I am very upset and saddened by what happened. How she communicated to me was straight out rude. If she did not want me to run around the store, she could have said it in a nicer tone. What makes it even worse, is that she is a employee of the store, and she acted in a very unprofessional way. To avoid future incidents caused by this lady, I am writing my experience at the store to her. I hope you can handle this situation by doing what you think is best. I sadly do not know the name of the lady, but she works at the Dress Barn in Florham Park, NJ, and she has brunette hair and on the heavy side. Thank you, and please notify me of what happens.

Dressbarn customer service was terrible at checkout store 0195 cashier 98 or 0196

10-14-2019 I went to the Elmhurst store at about 3 p.m. with my mother and I was greeted by Debbie and treated well as we tried on many items, she ran around and helped everyone kindly. It was not until we went to pay for the $400 worth of items we bought, that an elderly woman with short hair and a woman who claimed to be the manager (who was checking us out) treated us terribly. My mother and I have never been treated so unwelcoming, she acted as if we were a nuisance for purchasing so many items and making her do her job. Neither one of them smiled or said hi or thank you, when I asked if I could use an on-line coupon she said none of them work sorry no, and then I asked if they had a senior discount for my mother (which they claim to on the website) and they all jumped down my throat and one of them said "no, I have worked here a long time and never has there been a senior discount". Eventually somebody did call a higher up and found out that there is a senior discount, but it is only on Wednesdays and can only be used by itself without any other discounts, do your research people. A simple I do not believe so but let me check for you would have been the proper answer. I can honestly say that if this checkout experience is indicative of how these employees treat customers, I understand why the stores are all closing down. The only saving grace was Debbie, thank you Debbie for actually doing your job, being wonderful, kind and hard-working. As I left, I noticed Debbie running around cleaning as the other two rude ladies sat behind the counter with no customers and complained. I will never return to this store again. If I do shop at Dress-barn, it will be on the website or at Avenue, where they don't make a big deal that I do not have a physical coupon with me and treat customers with respect..

Dressbarn horrible service

I walked in with my 2 year old holding her in my arms cause she was sleeping. No one greeds at me. No one ask me if I had an exchange, cause I walked in with merchandise from the store. There were two ladies by the fitting rooms. Fixing merchandise. Right in front of me. It's the second time this happens to me. There were more customers who were just there and no one helped them neither. I asked them. Who is the manager here? She said I am! I was like -wow! You are very rude. I've always go to the Katy mills location and they are awesome, I don't even have to ask them, they always green say hi! How's your day? So nice. But this location needs to be taking customer service classes!
