Dollar Tree managers & employees are very rude to customers

Store Managers & employees are very rude to customers, The lousy managers love to enforce racial discrimination and job discrimination! That's why they keep hiring people & losing valued customers, because they mistreat cusomers, and they don't treat their employees well, or keep them employed very long (especially minorities).

You poor thing! Does everybody discriminate against you? Sure seems they do cause that is mostly what you post complaints about. I couldn't imagine having to feel as bad as you must, poor you! If I were being discriminated against this often I think I would just say "Hell with it all and never go out again!"

Just saying... :)

Savannah GA 7805 Abercorn street Store#372 @18:37 on 10/22/13.NO MANAGER ON DUTY .Sales Associates(1) know nothing about customer service. I ask the cashier too call for help because she had 2 long line with 1 cashier, she said it was no one too help her. I told her she had a manager on duty call them she told me that he did not have time. I went too the managers office and ask for help on the register. When he came out I went to his register. With me standing there in his line, he called for the next person in line .Because of my GOD I move and let that person come all the way over in front of me .I have 2 bad knees and ect. It's not like you have wheel chairs in your store. And I could not stand in that long line and very SLOW cashier. How hard is it too ring in the dollar store? I was the one that walked all the way over and asked for the help that the cashier would not call for, so I did and this was how I was treated .If he had call one more person over in front of me I was leave that cart right there. I tried too tell him if the cashier had called for help I would've been in line at this time he was not interested in anything I had too say. I ask him for the manager he said that HE was the acting manager.(WOW). I AM VERY UNHAPPY WITH MY VISIT.POOR, POOR SERVICE

I can be witness to this statement. I use to work for Dollar Tree in Georgia. It is the worst company to ever work for as well as shop at. I have been done very unfairly. Treated poorly by the store manager as well as the dm and hr. I am sorry this has happened to you. I would like to say if more people complained as soon as things like this were to happen these managers would be relieved of there duties sooner rather than later. And then as in my case things could never get as severe as what has happen to me. I do pray people speak up more and stop letting these rude managers take advantage of there positions. If Dollar Tree cared more about there employees as well as their customers and ran there business properly this would not be a factor.

Dollar Tree bad boss

I work at dollar tree. Recently hired, in fact (Back in february). At first I loved dollar tree. I loved the whole concept of the "apple seed list". It kept me pretty busy. Which was better than k mart, as they don't give you anything really to do. And where I live, k mart was pretty much dead all day (Except from like 3 to 5).

The main reasons why I hate dollar tree are as follows: main manager, pay, and hours.
Manager: she's a ###, plain and simple. So every time I do something wrong she gives me this evil stare down, shakes her head, and throws a fit. I don't even make them that often. But when I do, all hell breaks loose in our store. She does this to other employees too and not just me. She even swears (A lot). Like one time I made the mistake of confusing one customer with the one behind her for a return. She got all upset, and swear (And in front of the customer and me). Most of the time, it's done in the office. But not this time. I know I have been known to swear at work. So i'm quilty. But the only time I did it. Was after we had closed. I was in the back getting ready to fill the drink coolers when I walked by a pile of boxes and barely touched one. And the whole pile fell on top of me (I wasn't hurt, just a little bruised). And I said ###. Also, ever since I started (And she knew this one). That my dad was a coin collector. With her permission and with her watching. I would take the coins from my till only for my dad. And then replace them with the exact amount from my own pocket. And she just now stopped it for no apparent reason (K mart had no problem with this, management just had to be present to watch me put the money back in). My other managers are great I love them. All three of them, laugh at mistakes, and the stupid things that the manager does and gets upset about (Which doesn't take much for her to get pissed). When we're not busy and no is in the store. We'll have a great time. One night, in fact, during my lunch. I went down the street to the pizza joint and ordered pizza. Took it back to the store and we had a blast with that.

Pay:
So I was expecting this. But pay was minimum wage. So I was thinking okay i'd get about $400 to $500 a month. Wrong. I'm lucky if I even break $350 a month.

Hours:
If your not management you're hours suck. My manager told me when I was hired that i'd be getting between 10 and 15 hrs. Per week. Which at first, I was like okay that's great 15 hours max is still pretty good for me. I can still pay my college loans with no problem. Starting out I was getting 15 hours. But now months later, i'm getting (If i'm lucky) 12 hrs a week or less. Because each cashier gets between a 4.5 to 5.5 hour shift per day. I even only work about 3 or 4 days a week. With my longest shift being on sunday's and that's for 6 hours. Because she only has 2 cashiers work throughout the whole day.

My other gripe with my manager. Is that she doesn't compliment you on your good deeds. But she will nail you on things you do wrong. For example, today. I had completely got everything done with my apple seed within the first 2 hours of my shift. So I wanted to keep myself busy and decided to fill the balloon coral (This is normally done in the morning, but today it wasn't as we were busy). So I decided to do it. I filled it up. She got mad at me. Saying it wasn't on my list of things to do and I should've left it alone. I explained to her that I completed the apple seed and did recovery of the front half of the store twice already and wanted something to do to keep busy. When I do this with the the assistant managers they thank me for it and will tell me what else I can do to keep busy. Another complaint is we're supposed to take our full breaks no matter what. So one saturday night. My assistant manager was on her lunch break. We suddenly got a big rush of people come in. I knew I was supposed to call for help after the 4th person comes to my lane. I asked my assistant manager if she could help. She said no, because she was on break. But had five minutes left and would be out to help as soon as she can. Well, a customer called the very next day and complained to management about how she had to wait about less than 10 minutes to get checked out. The assistant manager and I told the manager what was going on and she was pissed. She said the manager on break should've helped. But when I did that earlier with another assistant manager. And helped her during my 10 minute break. She got mad at that. I did however, after we weren't busy was that I went back and completed my break. So I still took it, but she didn't like how I went and helped the other manager. There is just no pleasing her at all. And to make matters worse. I've got to work with this manager all week this week :/

Dollar Tree bad customer service; employee or manager

I feel like you should be aware of the treatment your customers receive. As a long time Dollar Tree customer I am disturbed and upset by what happened to me at your location on St. John St.in Portland Maine tonight. Before I left the house I checked my bank account balance and knew I had $16 in there so I did not bring any cash with me. I proceeded to walk through the store and pick out the items I needed and some I wanted and enjoyed the wonderful deals I was receiving this holiday season. While deciding on a table clothe I met who I believe to be the manager, I had spoken to him on a previous visit, at which time his attitude left something to be desired, but I though maybe he had just been having a bad day that day. I began with "Can I ask you a quick question?" which was followed my a roll of the eyes and a sigh, then proceeded to ask him if the table clothe I was looking at was round. He looked at it and said "I can tell by the package that it isn't round." and proceeded to speed off with a cart filled with nothing walking up and down the isles, not sure what he was doing, but that is besides the point... I finished up my shopping and went to the check out. The cashier was wonderful and I joked with her and the gentleman behind me in line about how good of a deal the broom was and that I was excited not the be using a straw one anymore. It came time to pay and I ran my card, with all the sincere respect in the world the girl told me it had been declined, very low tone to make sure I wasn't embarrassed. I said that was weird and asked if we could run it again. Declined again. So I found 2 dollars in my pocket and the gentleman behind me, bless him, gave me the 10 cents to get 2 of the 8 items I was getting. Of course she had to call the man who I think may be the manager up (longer feathered dirty blond/light brown hair, maybe mid 30's early 40's), he was not pleased with the situation at all. He told her to do the complete void, helped her with it with an awful attitude and then told her she would have to ring EVERYTHING (which he said several times) in again. After the wonderful cashier had done so she asked him what to do next. he proceeded with a very irritated "What do you mean?" She stated that she had rung everything in again as he had stated. He then sighed and yelled across the entire front of the store so that everyone could here, "I meant ring the items in that she is going to pay for. Obviously, if she doesn't have the money to buy the items don't ring them in!" I was so embarrassed. I then proceeded to pay for my 2 items, gave the man behind me the 90 cents in change, apologized to the girl and walked out, wishing everyone including who I presume to be the manager a Merry Christmas. I was shaking as I exited the store. Just so you know I make a very good wage and can afford to buy at least half of the items in your store with one paycheck if I wanted to. I want something done about this, so that this never happens to another customer. As a person who has worked in customer service for many years I am appalled that this would ever happen. The cashier was wonderful and did not deserve to spoken down to like that and for the "manager" he needs to treat all customers with respect, ALL. So what if a women can only spend what little she has on 8 items in your store? She chose your store to shop at, that does not make her a lesser person because she does not have all the money she may deserve. I happen to not be that women anymore but I have been on in the past. I would like something done about this. I should not have to cry because I am a hard working citizen who was wrong about their bank account balance. I will have trouble walking into your St. John St. location again or any other location for that matter. Be careful who you have working for you, they are the face of your company to your customers. I don't think this is a face you want...

Your statements seem to conflict with each other. I would think if you made a very good wage, your card would not have been declined for $8 plus tax.
I do believe the manager should have handled the situation a little better, but you should know your own financial situation.

Dollar Tree Poor customer service

I purchased an order online and was given a pick up date that was different than what was on my receipt. I went to the store to get my items and I was told that they have the items in stock but I would have to pay for them even though I already paid. I tried to speak to the manager she was no help the district manager refused to speak to me. I called customer service and had to leave a message no live agent available (but they say on there site 24/7 customer service) I had to hunt down the corporate email address online because it is not readily available to customers and received a call back from the director of sales who said even though they placed a hold on my acct. And gave me a receipt that I hadn't actually paid for the items huh! I cancelled my order 4 days ago and they still don't have my money that according to them I never paid. Do not shop at dollar tree. I will shop at a place that have excellent customer service than save a few dollars and get robbed by a corporation. Robbed of my value as a customer and robbed of my money until they want to release it to me. What a horrible experience be for warned.

This seems to be a common theme with dollar tree. I will not shop at dollar tree in my area again because no matter how cheap the prices customer service should be top notch.

I guess there motto is if you want better customer service go some where else at least if they gave me a warning I would know what to expect.

I have been shopping at this Dollar Tree location for the past 5 years. I always go there with my 3 girls and buy a toy there. The toy isle there has a bottom shelf along the bottom of each isle packed with loose toys. The toy isle always has toys on the floor from other kids digging through the loose toys. I went there yesterday, July 23rd, 2008, and my girls and I stood in the toy isle while they picked out some toys. I walked down the toy isle to look at something and when I looked back at my kids I noticed a lady standing at my girls who are 4, 6, and 8, and telling them in a cold and scolding tone to clean up the toys on the floor. My 4 year old asked her why. This lady looks straight at my 4 year and starts to raise her voice and says "Why!" I walked over to the lady and asked her to stop talking to my daughter. This lady did not know I was their mother and was about to argue with my 4 year old! Well, its turns out my 6 year old was digging through the loose toys and the toys ended up on the floor. I had her clean up all the toys on the floor. Later my 8 year old told me there were already toys on the floor when we got there. I told this lady I did not like the way she spoke to my children. This lady turned out to be the manager. This manager had the worst attitude I have ever seen as a store manager. I asked for the Dollar Tree complaint number which is always busy or you have to leave a message. For as big as this Dollar Tree corporation is they should care more about their customers.

I work at a dollar tree and am a fairly nice and patient person. I've found that most of the people who complain about something like this were not watching their children who were making a mess. 9 tenths od the dollar trees do not employ people to clean up because they are very stingy with their hours. So when an aisle is messed up it means the manager or backup cashier has to clean it up and the lines get long because there's nobody to open another register so it gets annoying. While the manager was wrong to yell at your child, you were wrong to allow your children to make a mess. We are not paid to clean up after rude customers or to babysit. If you shop in a dollar tree in the future please watch your children and have them behave in a respectful manner and this situation can be avoided entirely. Also, the complaint line is a complete joke. We have to use the same complaint line for in store issues and nothing is ever done. This is just how dollar tree works and everyone has to deal with it or don't shop there.

I too just had an encounter with a dollar tree store manager. I got to the checkout counter and had about 10 items including a bag of teddy grams. The casier rang up the teddy grams and the register made a loud sound...she stated to me that the item i was trying to purchase wasnt in the system yet so she had to call her manager over to over-ride the purchase...the manager came over and took the bag from the cashiers hand, placed the teddy grams on the register behind her, typed something in the computer and walked away...the cashier didnt say anything to me just continued to ring up my other items...so i asked her what was wrong and if i was going to be able to purchase the teddy grams compleatly confused because she told me she was going to get the manager so he could over-ride the purchase and my teddy grams were on the other register...she then explained to me that i wasnt able to buy them.. stupidly i inquired why just to be told because you just cant! so i asked if she could call the manager over. meanwhile there is a line of people behind me...the manager came over. i asked him why i couldnt purchase the item he said "because you can't" i then tried to explain to him that the item is on the floor which means he has to sell them to me and he said GET THIS " WHATEVER" and walked away...never in my life hsve i been spoken to like that from a manager at the dollar store!please help...im not able to make a co0mplaint because i cant get thru to their corporate # and dont know where to go from here.. ive never made a complaint like this in my life but ive also never been spoken to like this from a manager at any store!

I agree with rude managers at many of the dollar tree locations. I myself am a assistant manager of one but i too have to put up with the rudness of my store manager.she doesn't seem to realize that a smile & a kind word can long way & that without our repeat customers we will not be around long. i am a strong believer that whether you pay penny or a million dollars for somethimg you should be treated with respect.

I have been shopping at the Dollar Tree corporation for years. Today was the very last time I will EVER set foot in that store again. The manager stood there staring at me and my brother the entire time. Then she had the audacity to call her employee over from the register and pointed at us and said "I don't trust guys go watch them!" That is incredibly rude and sexist. Anyone know the actual number to complain to the headquarters? Because I WILL NOT let this go

Dollar Tree employee smells like marijuana

There is an employee in this store that smells like marijuana his name is Mitchell I don't complain to the managers because they seem to be very good friends( he was a young guy also, and the lady who is the store manager just followed there lead) so I don't think it will do any good If I could smell it I know they can to. What he does on his own time is his business but he shouldn't be allowed to be at work smelling like that.

Dollar Tree Unfair dismissal

I was working for the Dollar Tree for 3 shifts, my manager Tina, was the person who hired me and then informed me that I would be working 9:00 to 1;00 Monday and the Wednesday. On the Wednesday at the end of my shift another manager (I believe her name is Niki) told me I would be working on the Saturday late shift from 4:15 to 9:15. At this point I still have not seen the schedule because management just tells me the shifts that I am to work. After working the late shift Saturday I did make a mistake in not checking the schedule for my next shift. I so far had not worked 2 days in a row. I was just going to call the dollarstore and my phone rang, it was Tina and she was very unhappy with me. I was to be at work at 2:00pm I told her I didnt believe I would be working 2 days in a row, she informed me that she was not a babysitter, (when she was interviewing me for the job she also told me she was going to let 2 staff go because she was tired of babysitting them) she then told me I was going to be marked down as a no show. I told her I was sorry for my mistake, but I could be into work in 15 minutes ( I live very close to the store)she told me no I could not. I asked could I come in a check the schedule and she told me no. She said that I would have to wait for a call from her. I waiting for 4 days and on the Thursday, I went into the store. She told me I was let go. and that was it.
After I thought about how she was using her power I decided to give her a note. This is a copy of the note I sent her. To Tina
Youre decision to terminate me has changed my life. I needed this job if I want to continue eating. You make it very impersonal, its anything but. You might be a good manager, but as for being human its questionable. Sincerely Dawn after I gave Tina the note she called me at my home and preceded to yell at me. Told me again she was not a babysitter. said that I cannot threaten her which I did not, she told me I should put on my resume that I am homeless and cant afford to eat. As she continued yelling at me she informed me that she can ban me from the store. While going off on her little rampage ( I do believe she should have a random drug test) no one goes off like she did. I knew there was no way I could talk to her reasonabliy about my situation. So I eventually hung up on her as she was still screaming at me. I did call another Dollartree and spoke to a manager a male, and he informed me that with the 3 month probation a manager can let you go for any reason they seem fit . In the booklet that they gave me to read and sign, I did notice that they commented on respect for employees and management. Tina was anything but respectful. I really enjoyed working for the company and dealing with the public, it was everything I hoped it would be. The managers at the dollartree store all stick together, so taking a complaint against one would not get you anywhere but fired also.
I would not have missed my shift if she would have let me come in to fill it. She told me she had to fill my shift. while she was yelling at me. I asked her if I was terminated on the Sunday for missing my shift why did she not tell me that. She wanted me to have to wonder for 5 days. That was only her power over me that she was using to make me wait. I did not realize in this day and age that bullying in a company ( in management) still exists.
Thank you

Anyways I went to call another store manager and he said this it to me about my store managers.

"If they had to call for every employee who behaves like they are three year old who need a babysitter than they don't have time for other work."

I may have quoted him wrong but all the managers are the same. I see you are just as much as the other bully managers heath2011 because earlier on you said the exact same thing as the other manager quoted. He also said that during our three month probation they can get rid of us for any reason. Anyways I dont know why I submitted the first message without posting everything, but I accused of acting like a three year old by that manager. I just told him Dollar Tree sucks and he said if we had to babysit every of our employees than we would not have time to do other things He sided with that manager. Probably dates her and beats his wife. Do you date Tina Heath, do you beat your wife, because you called me a three year old and are bullying me on here.

It is the manager's job to call me if she wants the store to be well staffed. They are the ones who made the schedule so they should be the ones to call the employees if they see that they are not arriving for their shift, especially if the same employee forgot to come in two times before. She said she gave me three chances. But it is her job to call me. I never said you were fired from Dollar Tree, in fact you are one of the lucky ones who got by. But my manager is a bully. She claimed I threatened to run her kids over. I never made that threat I would never harm her children just because she is a b**ch. I just implied I may accidentally run her children over with a car, she took that as a threat. She should be tested for drugs because as soon as I said that she went off on me. Anyways I called her again trying to get my job back because I have children to feed as well and if I don't get this job the children would to to my husband because I cannot support them. She did not care. She is heartless. She and my ex are meant for each other. They are both losers.

You were not there Tina was being disrespectful when she fired me and when she yelled at me on the phone after I called her asking if she can give me my job back. I called her a b***h and she said with that now I lost all the chances of getting my job back. She is nothing but a pathetic bully who abuses her power. Firing me for her mistake is disrespectful. I made a mistake and when she saw that I was not there before my shift started she should have called home earlier on and reminded me of my shift. I even offered to come in but she said not to. This is not the first time that she has failed to remind me of my shift. This is the third time she failed to call me when I did not show up for my shift. She told me she was not my babysitter. I guess all you managers are the same you side with a company that bullies your employees. I thought only Tina was a bully. Guess I am wrong. When I forgot about my shifts before she never called me to remind me. She said this was my last strike. So her making me miss my shifts because she forgot to call me is her fault. I have missed several shifts and she called me after I was supposed to start. She let me come in late for my shift. This time she had to act like a b**ch and said not to come in at all and informed me I was fired. When I called her after writing my letter she was rude to me we exchanged words, I called her a b**ch and she said if I don't hang up she would ban me from the store completely. I have friends working there so she has no right to do this. I was not threatening her she was threatening me.

Dollar Tree poor management

One night when I was walking into dollar tree I notice the manager was cursing at this girl working. I always go to dollar tree because everything is good for a cheap price. The girl is really nice and she's beautiful, she just always got treated the wrong way by the manager. & the manager is a girl that seems to be a low life b***h. I felt so bad for the girl I could tell the girl was pissed off but she didnt say much to the manager or talk back because she didnt wanna lose her job. That manager always had a mean look and she would always stare people down, she acts like she nice but she's not. She is deffinitely fake as f**k. She is known as getting alot of complaints, I don't understand why she is still working, when she shouldnt be. Her name is chasity, if ya don't believe me ya going to have to go to this dollar tree & check it out. Dollar tree needs to have better management. Most of the managers there are unprofessional.

I have been going to the dollar tree for many years and have never had a problem. Went in yesterday afternoon to purchase a few things. Everything went good, the co-workers were nice and helpful but when arrived home, noticed on receipt that I had been charged for multiple items when I hdad just purchased one. As soon as I saw that, I called & was able to talk to an hopeful manager named Shelby. She told me that she wasn't going to be in the next day but she will leave a note (first & last name) letting the other manager know what happened.
So, I went back to the store & the other manager was present. Told her about what had happened yesterday (not looking too happy to help), continuing the details. Manager started saying that the other manager never told her about the situation but she'll give her a call. After a minute of waiting, manager comes out & says, "she's not answering".
The reason for my complaint is because I feel like the managers should have better communication skills when incidences occur during previous shifts. I had money tooken off my card that I had no intention on spending & the M.O.D. wasn't as helpful as I thought she could have been.
Love this store but very unhappy with last visit...

Dollar Tree not all change was given back

I bought three items and paid with 100 dolalr bill and was suppose to get 96.71 back in change but only got 76.71 Didn't realize til I left ( 5min after I left) so I went back and the manager said they counted the drawer and I was only one penny over . I could not have dropped a 20 dollar bill cause soon as I got change I folded it all up with the receipt and not one thing fell out of my pocket, not even the 71cents. What I'm thinking is the cashier either gave someone a extra 20 dollar bill on accident and kept one of mine to even out her drawer or she pocketed it. I'm extremely pissed off about this and I will never shop there again. Not to mention they charged my grandma twice before and she didnt notice til she looked at bank statements and they ripped my sister off one dollar . Dollar trees are a scam. Always count your money there! They will keep it!

Dollar Tree Christmas donation of a gift of a dollar then the store puts in an item that cost them maybe .5 to .10 cents where does the other .90 cents go? NOW when a person agrees to give a $ 1.00 they ring a bell and hoot and hollar making the next person in line feel they need to donate.Donating if fine but where does the $ . 90 cents go after they put in to two bit piece of crap toy? I would hate to think this is what they call charity. Just do not give them the dollar, I have complained to the cashiers before but it is sure not their fault.

Dollar Tree toxic and destructive leadership

The leadership has a destructive style that is corrupting the subordinates and top managers. The favoritism has been bad the past couple of years you can feel it when you walk in the stores. The favored get away with unethical decisions/actions I have never seen before. If that in not enough, the girls who cashier at these stores were low cut shirts that show too much. What do I tell my boy when I take him in their. I had leave because the girls were dressed inappropriate and unprofessional. The may need some help with the group-think problem as well.

Dollar Tree the store manager sucks

Poor customer service dollar tree at store 1715
Store manager named kelly...
She don't know how to treat people & I think she's doing the samething to their team it looks like she does favoritism.. & that's inleagel.. They need to move her or fired her because they will lost money eventually sooner or latter.. I see only a few people there that cares about customer services...

This is a copy of the letter I am submitting to dollar tree I had a bad experience in my local dollar tree store today. I visited the following address with my son

And we were treated very poorly:9620 fort mead rd laurel md 20707

I got in line with my 10 year old son today who is just short of 5 feet tall. After a minute wandered

Toward some christmas stockings that caught my eye (That is why you have so much stuff up front don't you... For impulse purchases). I picked up four stockings and returned to my cart to find my child

Looking for another long-long line to get into. I asked him why he was moving and he informed me that he was told by a woman (The manager) to move to another line... That the one he was on was closing. I

Protested and took my place back in line.

The cashier named tabassum old me that the line was closed and I informed her that my son was standing there before that decision was made and we should be checked out. At this point, the customer in front of us confirmed that fact to the cashier. She and the manager did not seem to care and informed me that they were taking her off register in order to stay on schedule and they would help me shortly. After several minutes had passed, I realized they had left me standing there alone at the register for no other reason I can imagine that to humiliate me. Before I go any further, I want to bring the mission statement of dollar tree into the picture. And i

Quote...;dollar tree stores, inc is a customer-oriented, value driven variety store, operating at a one-dollar price point. It will operate profitably, empower its associates to share in its opportunities, rewards and successes; and deal with others in an honest and considerate way. The company's mission will be consistent with controlled and profitable growth."dollar tree state the following as its values:

Attitude: responsibility, integrity, courtesy judgment: do the right thing for the right reasons

Commitment honor and respect for self and the company. Now if the first actions were not enough to infuriate and embarrass me, the customer, I had an interchange with a cashier that proved to me that I was definitely not valued and as a customer. I asked another employee who was taking extra cash from the drawers when the manager was going to put someone back on the register because I had waited long enough and was getting upset. She became very defensive and informed me that the line was closed and that I would have to continue

To wait until it was opened. I explained my stance to her once again and her words to me were a very hostile & what do you want me to do?" at this point I was about to leave my basket that I had spent the last 45 minutes loading and leave the store, but a customer in the next aisle put me in front of him on line and a very nice cashier remembered my from my near-weekly visits to the store checked me out. She seemed embarrassed by the whole affair and agreed that we were on line before it closed. I believe her name was m - something cuz her named tag letters where getting off anyway. I spent $45.00 at dollar tree today and left the store wondering why I had ever spent a cent there. I felt that the actions of the manager and two cashiers completely #ized the standards that

Dollar tree is trying to uphold. First of all, the attitude of the manager was completely out of line,

And it usually is. I have spoken to her on several previous occasions attempting to be friendly and have

Received short, cold responses. I have even jokingly asked her about the 20-minute long lines in the past to be told that it is the owners fault, as he is not allowed enough staff. Her actions and attitude

Consistently fails to meet any reasonable standards of responsibility, integrity and courtesy.

Second of all, her judgment as definitely skewed on this day. Had he listened to the customer on line before us instead of assuming that we were trying to "cut in" on line, she would have treated us better. Instead, she sumed I was attempting to "get over". When a storekeeper automatically underestimates the integrity of the customer, she atomatically loses customer loyalty as well. Thirdly, I believe that her level mmitment is under question as she ed to recognize a regular customer who consistently spends between $140 and $200 per month (Which by the way is a lot of money for a dollar store). By doing so, sh is turning away a very valuable customer, who by the way has friends who she will also inform to stop spending money at dollar tree. I am sure this sounds like an empty threat, but I do believe in the value of the customer and of the dollar. I only take my dollars to places where I feel valued, and have been influential in getting others to do the same. I am not sure what I want to happen because of this letter. Perhaps I want acknowledgement that I was

Treated poorly in your store, perhaps they need to get rig of her please and her rud employee named bonny, cuz she was complaining about my son been in the toy aisle I can tell you this, at this point and time, the chances of me setting foot into another dollar tree store is slim to none.

Dollar Tree wrongful dismissal

Hello, My name is Ms.Donna Fierz, I was employed by Dollar Tree for only 3 days, I did make a mistake and did not check for my upcoming shifts. I was wrong. When my supervisor called me at 2:15 and told me my shift was at 2:00 I apologized and said I can come in, in 15 minutes. I was told I could not come in or get my upcoming shifts. I was told I would have to wait for the company to call me. I waited for 4 days and went to the Dollartree at 9:00 am and I was informed I was marked down as a no show and I was terminated. I do not believe the punishment fits the crime. I believe I should have been suspended for a week, but allowed to keep my job. I live 4 blocks away from the company and I have been wanting to work at this store for sometime. I would be a good employee I have arrived early for my 3 shifts which I worked. In case of a bad snowfall, I can walk to work when other employees may have problems getting in. I would like you to please take this under consideration. I am 53, I live alone, and I can devote myself totally to the company.

Thank you for your time,

Ms. Donna Fierz

I was just let go from the dollarstore on Sept 30/12, I was only working for the company for 3 days, Sept 24 - 9:00 am to 1:00 am, Sept 27 - 9:00 am to 1:00 am and Sept 29 4:30 pm to 9:15 pm. I went home after my shift and remembered I did not get my shifts for the following week. I have not worked 2 days in a row before and I did not think it would be a problem to call in for my shifts. After finding the number of the store on line I was about to call in and I received a call from tina (manager) at the dollarstore. She informed me that I was suppose to be at work for a 2:00 shift, I told her I was sorry I did get my shift schedule and I could be in within 15 minutes, she then told me no I couldnt. I asked if I could come in to right down my shifts, she also told me no I couldnt. She then informed me that they do not do babysitting. I apologized again and told her I was not expecting to be working 2 days in a row. She told me nothing is set in stone. She then told me she was marking me down as a no show, and I would have to wait for the company to call me. I waited until Thursday Oct 4th, and I went into the store at 9:00 am . She informed me that having a no show while on probation if automatic dismissal. If that was the case why did she not inform me on the Sunday Sept.30th that I was fired. While I was having my interview for the job on September 17th she told me she was not a babysitter and was going to let 2 young girls go. She could not handle being a babysitter. I know I made a mistake in not getting my shifts on the Saturday, but I could have been marked down as late, if tina would have allowed me to come in. I was not a no show, I was not allowed to work. I was trying to contact human resources on line and I could not reach them.

Thank you

Dollar Tree overcharge by clerk

Customer Service
Today at the Northern Lights Dollar Tree in Baden, Pa., the clerk tried to charge me tax on potato chips. When I told him that there was no tax on food items, he told me there was 12 cents tax on a package of paper leaves which I was buying at that time. To my knowledge, the tax in Pa. is still 6%. This particular clerk was not trained too well and did not know what 6% on a dollar was. This is very irritating that I had to correct him. How about some better, smarter clerks.

Dollar Tree Management needs customer service training

I never enter a place of business expecting the employees to be rude and not possess customer service skills. However, that is exactly what I observed at Dollar Tree store in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. I wouldn't be too surprised or baffled if said employees were young-between 18 and 23 years of age. But the problem is that the employees who don't have any customer service skills are well above age 30. And these employees happen to be a Store Manager and her ASM (Assistant Store Managers). I observed customers walking into the store, not being greeted. Walking down aisles right past employees and the employees would not even greet the customers at that time. Customers in line complained about the lack of customer service. Also, the manager held a meeting in the office-which is located at the front of the store about 6 feet from the registers. The meeting included two of her ASM's (she has three ASM's). During that meeting, they discussed what they considered poor performance of certain new employees. They were loud, unprofessional and rude. Customers posed the question "Do they know we can hear them out here?" Yes, they know. I was employeed by Dollar Tree and worked three days before terminating my employment. The ASM who was suppose to train me was rude and her non verbal body language let me know she did not want to be training me. At 7.35 an hour, I don't have to put up with anyone's lack of professionalism in a place of business. One customer told me I was the nicest person who works there. I made it a point to greet all customers who came into the store when I was walking the floor, greet customers down aisles and greet everyone who came into my line to check out. And I also to them "Thank You and Have a Good Day" after they finished checking out. If the ASM's management skills are a reflection of the Store Manager's leadership, then clearly they all need training on Customer Service and Communication skills. I understand the Store manager has only been there for 2 months and most of the employees were there before she got there. But I believe as a leader she should want and strive to have a team who reflects what it means to be courteous and kind to customers. On yesterday, I turned in my name tags and the manager didn't say anything or look at me. She took my tags and when I walked away, proceeded to talk to her employees in her office. She was extremely rude in that aspect and I will not be shopping at Dollar Tree Donaldsonville unless new management is put into place. Customer Service is a must in this place of business, not a "I don't feel like it so I won't".

N.S.

I did put on a smile. Was one of the few that did. If I wanted to make a career out of working there, I would have stuck it out. But that's not the direction I was going in. There is a very sweet cashier who works there and there was a guy (idk if he still works there or not). But he checked me out a few times in line and he was nice and I could tell he liked his job. Glad you were able to make it better for many people. I'm not taking it personal though, I'm really not. But I do think the Management team could use some training in certain areas. :) And the Store Manager was nice when she spoke to me. But when she got around her ASM's, her attitude towards customers and other employees seemed to change. She changed. She conformed. I know she's only been there two months and she wants her workers to get along with her. But don't go about it the wrong way. Don't lose who you are when you are around people who are not as friendly.

Tasha10 if you are gonna comment...you could at least read the entire post. And if you didn't understand anything that was stated...you could at least ask. That's not discriminating against anyone younger. I was speaking on the level of maturity vs immaturity. It wouldn't surprise me if an 18 year old employee didn't possess a certain level of communication skills when dealing with customers. But when you become a certain age, you should. And as far as being a disgruntled former employee-by far I am not. I work full time, doing what I love. That was a part time job just for extra cash. And exaggerated is, perhaps, the word you were looking for. It's funny how you read me as being hostile but I am far from that sweetie. You may wanna check you own attitutude though.

health2011- Never expected a cake walk at Dollar Tree. I understand what hard work is. I have no problem working hard because it passes the time quickly. I understand all employees aren't that way. But this is a small town and everyone pretty much knows everyone and these are just rude people in general. At this particular store, management needs to be revamped asap (my opinion).
This Place Needs More Descartes- it's common courtesy. If you want a person to continue doing business in your place of business, the least you can do is say hello. Especially when you pass right by them. Like I said earlier, it is not all Dollar Tree stores...not all employees because there is one girl there who is always genuinely nice to customers. But it is wise to acknowledge patrons when you walk right by them. And also, customer service is not being sharp or rude to customers when they ask you about buying balloons.

Dollar Tree I am getting sick of other customers cutting in line at this store

I have been to the Dollar Tree in Brentwood, Tennessee more than I care to remember. I am a very loyal Customer. I am getting sick of other Customers cutting in line at this store. I complained tonight (Thursday, August 23, 2012) and the Manager on Dusty said there’s nothing she could do.

I have worked in retail long enough to know that’s there is something that the Manager on Duty could have done. At least the Manager could have given me a discount either on that purchase or on a future transaction. I may not spend hundreds of dollars each time I come in. I may spend between 10 to 40 dollars each time I come in. I use to come in at least twice a week. Now maybe once a week. This is not right! Come on grow guts and allow your managers to solve customers complaints.

Dollar Tree district

While shopping at Dollar tree in Grand Prairie Texas, one of the stockers was
Helping me gather supplies needed for our once a month office sales promotion,
When this woman named Rhonda, (whom I found out was the District MGR)
Grabbed the person helping me and said sorry Mister you are going to have to
Wait! I heard her telling him this and that was wrong, he replied it’s just like the
Picture. She said are you def as well as dumb I JUST TOLD YOU it is wrong!
I was so embarrassed for him! Then I got mad, she had the nerve to stop him
From helping me get what I needed and act like that, I left the stuff in the
Basket and walked out and went to a Family Dollar store!

really you wanted to be compensated for what you went through! So if someone gives you attitude and preaches to you all of a sudden you need to be compensated. I don't agree with what happened to you but that is life and i don't think you should get paid or get anything for free because one person did something they should not have. That money and free stuff comes out of the company which then takes it from the people that works there. It is sad that if someones feelings get hurt over something they think they should get paid for it. Maybe you should had stood up for yourself and told him to back off . then you would have got something for free RESPECT

I had horrible customer service experience at Dollar Tree location in (Monroe) Louisiana where Dollar Tree Rep (who was later identified as Dollar Tree Store Manager) had the nerves to get attitude with me when I was asking him if the rotator belt was working..Then he had proceeded with Bibilical verses saying THE LORD to protect him from his enemies (etc) and I was so upset that I had hold my composure...In additon...I had talked to Dollar Tree Store Manager/who had appeared to be PO as well as I had talked to Dollar Tree District Store Manager (who had advised me she was deaing with Dollar Tree Store Manager that was unprofessional just to say the least),

When I had asked about being compensated from what I had gone through...She (Dollar Tree District Store Manager) basically was saying in some many words that I wouldn't be able to receive it, and I'm suppose to roll over and die? "No"...Future Dollar Tree Customer? (I'm reconsidering)

Dollar Tree rude to my disabled wife

after 30 minutes waiting in line, I was checking out with my three items.

The cashier put everything into a bag even though I had already stated I had my own bag.

Then my wife proceeded to walk out.
The cash register locked up. The cashier jumped outside before I could say anything such as "I have cash" and started harassing my disabled wife... the manager defended her employee. Please do not shop at the Dollar Tree. They treat people with disabilities unfairly.

Dollar Tree Shopping the way they tell you

To whom it concerns:

I went to shopping tree waterbury, ct wolcott rd. As I walk in I grab basket and see some of what I want t buy right away grab deodorant, air freshners, and nyquil. Then as I begin to walk away and go to the isle and get the rest I was stop by a worker who explain to me I couldnt walk around the store with the items I had in my basket I had to get all the other stuff I wanted then at the end is when I can get the rest of the stuff because that was section you grab on the way out. I was very upset put the things I had back and left. I cant believe you tell people how to shop, when they can get items and when they cant. I cant believe your store would tell anyone what they can get first or last. I will not shop anymore in that store. I was insulted and upset and could not believe it was happening. I am not a thief and didnt like it. I buy there all the time but no more. If you are going to tell people how to shop you need to put signs in your store...

Second they are assuming that because I have been caught before that I am planning on stealing these items. I was caught more than a year ago and learned my lesson. At that time I was desperate and had no job. Not that I am defending my actions, but still.

That's all good and well, but why did you post your name and email address on a public website?

Dollar Tree short-changed

We have been short-changed by Dollar Tree #2468 with sales associate Heather. Our bill was $26.30, we paid $16.30 w/food stamps and then asked if they could break a $50 for the remaining $10.00 and she said yes. After we finished the transaction and walked maybe 2steps from the register to find Heather had only given us 2 $5 and 1 $10 total $20 vs. correct change of $40.00 The manager said the till was correct and he would have to call his manager-so no resolution until he makes the call. Heather said she counted it back to me correctly, but I have poor eye sight and she counted it back to fast for me to see. That is why we doubled checked b4 we left the store. Also, they did not physically count the till just put it on a machine. They should have not only used the machine but also hand counted which was not done. I need this issue resolved ASAP. That $20 short was needed for gas to go to Portland for my disability hearing & now we are going to barely make it thanks to being short changed. Please correct this error ASAP.
