Family Dollar Customer Service

I went to make an exchange at the Family Dollar on Council and Nw 39th in Bethany, OK. When I entered the store the cashier was busy assisting a customer, so I went ahead and grabbed what I wanted to exchange. When I approached the register I was not acknowledged and had to wait. She did apologize but proceeded to tell me that they only exchange items that are exactly the same. I had my receipt and wanted to exchange the 2025 batteries for the 2032 size and they were the same price. She told me next time come to the register first because it looked funny. I just spent 83.00 dollars the day before

I felt as though I was being discriminated against because I am black. I do not steal and I do not want to be accused as a thief.

Desired outcome: I would like to know the policy for exchanges.

some stores have it listed on the bottom of the receipt for returns.

below is from what i have read on my receipt or told by associates of stores i frequent.

as for the policy itself it is governed by the rules sent from corporate [if they tell a store not to do returns or to accept them] then the franchise owner and manager takes those corporate rules and can just use those or modify them to reflect how they want. so they could get orders to only accept items of similar value or a similar item from corporate or they can change it to be same item only or same price value only. it's from what i have seen not geared to discrimination factors BUT this doesn't mean the policies of the franchise store that the franchise owner and manager created are not leaning to discrimination.

Family Dollar Store manager behavior

On July 4-2022 around 5:10pm-5:30pm the store clerk on duty proceeded to instruct me I have to leave my empty book bag at the front counter because people steal and he wants to make sure I’m not stealing! First of all I’m 50 yrs old and have better sense than to steal $27 worth of merchandise from you. I only came here r cause the stores close by me and I needed a few items. This is very disturbing that a clerk would harassing me for 7 minutes about an empty book bag that I carry my purse inside because I’m planing on putting the things I’m buying in it. This is totally unacceptable! Id rather go out my way to super Walmart now.

There’s a difference between being respectful and polite and being a nasty worker and harassing customers!

Family Dollar Service

On 6/27/2022 me and my grandson was shopping at #02570 the store manager was in the cooler putting away water when my grandson wants a drink, so he steps a cross the curb to get to the other side of the cooler that man look at me and spoke these words next time be considerate and walk around first of all he had the curb in the middle of the floor and second of all that is not how to talk to the customer's that guy need to learn handle business better than this his customers service SUCK to be manager.

Family Dollar Employee

One of your employees at the Covington Tennessee (38019) location on Hwy 51 is a cocaine drug user. We saw her putting it in her nose sitting in her car when we pulled up. I don’t know her name but she is an light skinned lady and her license plate number is BGH 1447 and she drives a white Chevrolet sedan newer model.

This was very disturbing and I had to report it because I love to shop here with my family and always has been going there since they moved to their new location.

Family Dollar store service and opening

all month of May and June.

Since the beginning of the month of May the store on 44th and Bryant Ave. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma has opened then closed within an hour. It constantly stays dirty and cluttered. The cashiers are rude and are constantly on there phones. They are always short on stock. It may as well be shut down. If not I would recommend a complete remodel of the complete store and a complete change of staff.

Desired outcome: You need to send a Rep. to check this issue as soon as possible, and I would do it without knowledge to the store.

Family Dollar Verbal (elder) abuse. Clerk felt disrespected. Even if she was, it handled poorly. Mgmt/lead agreed with how it was handled.

Store #02392 Madison, TNTime1:24 There was an elderly man (80ish)He had obvious problems walking,hearing, speaking w/clear signs of dementia. He saw a different price on the receipt, he got upset & threw the receipt at clerk.She said he “pissed” her off, screamed at him &berated him while giving refund.She verbally abused him and showed contempt.

Family Dollar Employee stole a dog from a customer/theft

A lady stole from the store gave back the items then they proceeded to keep what she paid for pepper prayed her then as she was across the street putting water on her face she couldn't see a person yelled from there home they are taking your dog. they ran an stole her dog an shopping cart out of the next parking lot then said they gave it away but the dog was seen in the store managers backseat the next day following the incident this happened about a week an half ago I want to say like on the May 23 2022 in the morning or we hours of the afternoon. Ever since that day the store manager had not been seen working there at all

Family Dollar Purchased some green drapes on Friday June 17, 2022.

Started to hang them and discovered pin holes in them. Just wanted to exchange them or given a store credit. Was told that I couldn't exchange or given a store credit because I open the package. I asked, "If I didn't open the package then I would not have known that they had pin holes." I was directed to speak to Corey Cooper. I opened the door and he said rudely, "CLOSE MY DOOR! I am not taking them back because I can't sell them." I tried to explain that the holes were in the drapes when I hung them. What am I expected to do with drapes with pin holes that I did not put in the drapes?

Desired outcome: I need new curtains without pin holes, refund, or store credit. I have never heard of not being able to return a damage product..

Message: Mid-April 2022, I bought several Nissin Ramen 5 packs from Family Dollar. store in Miami, FL. I love the shrimp flavor, but they were out of it. I bought chicken and beef flavors. I love this as a snack between meals. Two weeks ago, I made the beef flavor. The packet had NO COLOR or AROMA in it. but I ate it, anyway. About two hours later, my stomach hurt, I was nauseous and had a fever. Then my body hurt all over. I took some peppermint and papaya and after several hours, I was OK. Yesterday, I made the beef flavor again, with the same results as the first time. I have had the beef flavor, before, but never experienced this. Is there a way that I can send you the unused 3 packages so that you can find out what is going on? I don't want anyone else to experience this.

Family Dollar Poor exterior maintenance

This store is an embarrassment to the neighborhood. There is garbage littered everywhere and waist-high weeds surrounding the building and parking lot. The lack of property care is now encouraging rat infestation. The Owner should contract with a local landscaper/ maintenance company for routine oversight & clean up of this business, as the rest of the businesses and homeowners do. It is a disgrace.

Desired outcome: Clean up the garbage and trim the weeds. Routinely!!!

Family Dollar Complaint

Every time I enter the store on stony in chicago this manager harass me. She talk behand my back to other counter and when I asked she says yes I am not talking to you but she talking about me. I have tried to contact top manager of the store and gotten no response.

When I enter the store on last week as I was cashing out I askes for cash back the casher said no cash back. So I said why is it every time I come in to this store there is never cash back. She said I cant answer that I am new here. But the manager was at the next one over began to laugh out loud I said is there a problem. So as I was leaving the store she was talking to two lady's about me. How I am just mad because how couple years ago I was ask to leave the store. So I turn around and said you talking about me and she said to the lady's as I was saying she just mad.

But as I say this manager is always talking about me with all coming when I enter the store. She is very rude loud and un professor. And this must stop.

And also she was talking to the lady's and they was talking to me earlier in the store they was saying how at the other store they lock there door because they only had one casher. So the manager said I should do that at my store. And so she did. As I left the sore she lot it behand me. As I sat in my car I saw your comer come to the door and try to get in so they walk away. Not one two three. A lady with a baby. I went up to the door and tryed to get in at not I have picture of all this.

Desired outcome: for her boss take her job title from her . because she not be in that job title. write her up.

Family Dollar The whole store is falling apart

June 16, 2022 no air conditioning emergency! Nearly 100 in Texas.

We here in Oakwood Texas area, depend on this store and we are sad to see it falling apart like this. The sign lights don’t light. Freezer broken, and now it has broken air conditioning. It has been in the upper 90’s all week and the employees and customers have been subjected to this heat for almost a week! They are forced to leave the doors open, just to bring in air. I would think this would be an OSHA violation.

Thanks for listening, and please send help.

Family Dollar Scamming and roach infestation

I work next to the Family dollar on Longwood Avenue in the Bronx and I have to say that in all my experiences in retail, this is the worst place I have ever experienced. First of all, management has been notified of the horrible roach infestation multiple times, especially inside the refrigerator and has done nothing to make sure the refrigerated area is more sanitary. In fact, they have responded to complaints with "Okay, and?" How abhorrently irresponsible of this establishment to not handle this more professionally when the health of the consumers are at risk.

Secondly, this past Thursday your employee Calvin scammed my coworker and rang up a $75 playstation card that she did not purchase. On Friday, after she realized on her receipt there was this charge, the staff was completely unhelpful and in fact covering for the employee lying about what they saw on the cameras. This establishment needs all new staff or better training.

Desired outcome: EMPLOYEE TERMINATION AND TRAINING. Better management.

Family Dollar Complaint is on Savannah Barney from Columbia Kentucky Family Dollar

My daughter tried applying for employment through Family Dollar in Columbia Kentucky and my daughter has clean record, High school diploma and there is absolutely no reason she should not be allowed to get hired the hiring manager asked at first when Autumn Chumbley got an application if Autumn would care to work nights and weekends and Autumn replied yes, she could work any shift available. So, they called Autumn in for an interview and this girl Savannah Barney that is regular employee at that location talked the hiring manager into not hiring Autumn because she couldn't stand Autumn at school. I am her mother, and I was literally told this is the reason through another manager that works there is that Savannah talked bunch of smack. This is ridiculous she has been graduated for 3 years now and out of high school and just because her and this girl Savannah did not get along in high school it should not prevent her from being able to be an employee through Family Dollar and this should be slander defamation or discrimination some kind of law that prevents this type of behavior and if Autumn cannot be a Family Dollar employee because of high school then Savannah shouldn't be able to be neither

Re: CSM on duty 1245 June 11.

Unprofessional lack of customer coping skills followed wife around store for duration of shopping.

Walking so close could have worn each other's shoe attempting a look in purse finally parked shop cart followed to exit where wife shows content of purse.VERY UNPROFESSIONAL... can't shop because stero type or Jewish prejudice?

6/11/2022 i wnet into the family dollar at stolling i got my items that i needed and went to the counter with them no one around i rang the bell that they have sitting on counter serveral times no response then i went up and down each isle to see if i could see any one nothing so i went to back room and clerk was in there this is a regular ocurrance with this store all the employees and manager are either outside smoking and on their phones or stuck in the back somewhere the store number is 12804 time was 12:39 when i told the clerk about the service she was upset and when it came time to give my change she slapped in my hand with a mad look on her face

Family Dollar Wrongful termination

I was terminated due to inappropriate social media behavior (facebook), i’m still all the way unclear on what happened, I reported that my page was hacked and showed proof of a individual that was out to get me fired for no reason, I have numerous log in alerts that someone was logging into my accounts and they still terminated me, I worked for the family dollar in davenport iowa on rockingham road, employee # 1213636, I would like this more looked into

Family Dollar An employee

I have showed at the store in calhoun georgia ever since it was opened on hwy 41 north, the other day I ask a young women to help me locate a product it had be moved to another place, anyhow, she came over to help not only was she rude but i'm a middle school teacher so I know what pot smells. Like ice had students smoke before class an it has its own smell, an she was covered in it, I hate to complain I know good help is hard to find, but trust me she couldn't be a good employee I did get her name it was tammy lee I just think you should know. I do still shop ther I just don't ask for help anymore. Thank you.

Family Dollar Customer service

Yesterday afternoon, Sunday 6/5/22, about 5:15 pm, I took my adult daughter to the store for regular shopping. Location was 556 West Commerce - Buffalo, Texas 75831. We usually go on a Saturday. I personally do not like to go there because the cashiers are usually rude. There is one in particular that is extremely rude anytime I've encountered her. She acts like she hates her job and customers are a bother to her. I dropped my daughter off and went across the street for fuel and was coming right back. (She is legally disabled and does not drive.) She had asked the cashier a question about pricing on some detergent in the clearance section and was rudely spoken to by the cashier. NOTE: Other than being a customer, she does not know the cashier. She told the cashier there was no need for her to be rude and the cashier began to curse at her using profane four letter f — words and threatened to f — her up and got up in her face. My daughter, who is 98 pounds, bucked up and told the cashier she better back the f — away from her and that she was calling the police for her threatening her. She called me instead. I quit pumping gas and came straight back across street and picked her up. She told me what happened and we headed back to her house to call police. She said there was a second employee there, but that she stayed out of the incident. As I was turning into the drive at house, police turned lights on behind me for me stop. They said Family Dollar had called on my daughter for a disturbance. We told them we were just about to call them ourselves on the cashier. My daughter explained what happened and told them to please watch the video tape and it would show she did nothing wrong and that the cashier was the problem. The two officers said they would go talk to cashier and come back. They came back said manager wanted to criminal trespass my daughter from the premises based on what cashier had said. Officers asked about video and were told video does not work. My daughter has never caused any problems with any business. She does not look for problems or trouble. She is limited on her shopping choices due to not driving and when she feels up to making the walk, the Family Dollar is the closest that she can go to. I do not agree with the manager requesting my daughter being criminal trespassed from premises. I also do not believe that the video does not work in the store; however, if that is truly the case, I believe that it needs to be repaired, replaced or corrected to work. I am here to say that if the video had been available, it would have shown that the employee needed to be terminated for her actions. No, I am not the typical mother that believes everything my daughter says and takes up for her on everything, but I have personally witnessed the rudeness and hostility from that same cashier towards others and also myself. How dare you be so presumptuous as to assume she is mentally incompetent! She is not! She is MEDICALLY disabled due to health conditions. You actually need to learn the difference between the two. Your opinionated statements are highly defamatory, accusatory and completely incorrect. If the store had working video, the truth would show the cashier was the instigator and was the cause of the incident. The Family Dollar cashier was blatantly rude and very disrespectful. The outrageous rudeness of your comments is atrocious.
