Dollar Rent A Car dollar collection atlanta airport

We went to the dollar desk at Atlanta Airport to collect our car booked through car rental 8 booking ref [protected] on 18th April 2019.
The person on the desk said we had to pay $543.94 but our agreement said $184.58. He said if we wanted the full insurance and additional driver this was the amount to pay. We said it should be included. He said we would need to take it up with car rental 8. We had to agree with the amount as we had no option as we needed the car. He did not explain the products to us. We are British and had not had a USA rental before.
We have taken up the charges with car rental 8 and they say we were charged the extra for Pai/Pec and Prem Road Serv which we did not need to allow the extra driver or full insurance on our original rental agreement that we showed the person at Atlanta Airport. We now know that this person miss sold us the extra charges we did not need. We want a refund of the extra charges amounting to $303.62 plus tax.

Furthermore we had a lot of problems when we arrived in the car park to collect the car. Our original rental time shows 10.02am. The person said go over to the car and pointed to a blue saloon. There was a staff person in it who then drove off. We asked and the person said he will be back with the car. We waited for a while and said where is the car? We were then allocated an SUV which we loaded with our luggage and went to leave the airport garage. We could not leave and had to take the car back. The tax was to expire before we were returning the car. We then had to get another car and transfer all our luggage to that one. We eventually left the airport garage at 11.24am. This meant we were an hour late on our journey.

We have spent some time in contacting car rental 8 and getting replies from them and now we are contacting you. This is not what we wanted to do on our vacation.

We are attaching the documents and look forward to a speedy reply.

Dollar Rent A Car auto rental

I made a terrible mistake and rented a car from Dollar Rental..
Driving Dollar rent a car to cemetary to place flowers on a grave a dump truck dropped a pebble that hit my windshiedl.. so small, barely seen...but with my honesty and integrity I told them about it when I returned the car after dark at RDU airport.. Gave them all info, filled out reports.. Lady said they would shoot it with expoxy and it would never be seen... price around $50 and insurance would take care of it.. Two months later I get bill for $240... good price since comprehensive deductible is $250... I called some company called Viking that handles these scams for Thrifty, Hertz, and Dollar rental.. They told me that they had to replace the entire windshield.. Headquarters in Minn.. well we know what strange people live there... Congress proves it... They are all in the same ownership group... Do not rent from any of them...They manufacture lies to screw you.. I would bet that they did not replace the windshield... I had to send a check to the lying ***holes...
In the future I will only rent from Alamo...Should have this time...

I rented a car at Orlando airport on December 20, 2018. Booking reference number: US467306030 Confirmation number: H8642615710 I received two notices regarding toll amount and administrative fees. Notice number is [protected]

On December 26, I bought a Sun Pass transponder and used it after arriving in Cape Coral, Florida and it lasted until I flew home on December 30. I accessed my Sun Pass Account and have uploaded the file showing the activity.

I would like the charges that Dollar Rental charged dropped.

Dollar Rent A Car debit/credit card rentals/ a pervasive corporate attitude of unprofessionalism and theft by deception

I don't know who's more at fault here, Dollar Car Rental or CarTrawler. However, if I do not receive a full refund, I'm contacting every government agency, every local new station and any attorney that may be able to assist me!   To say that I'm furious is an understatement! Here's my story:

On December 15th 2018 I place a reservation for rent a car with Dollar Rental located at 1 Terminal Lane Nashville International Airport. Before I finalize my reservations I paid close attention to the terms and conditions because I know some car rental places require a credit card and some can take debit cards in lieu of a credit card. After carefully reading through there requirements and at no point did I read that they did not or would not take a debit card when finalizing a rental reservation, I booked the reservation. On their website it stated that they would only be taking $246 at that time a booking and I was to pay $92 Once I arrived to pick up car. Soon after I finish booking my reservation online I checked my statement and they had taking out $283 and then my account stated that there was "NO" balance due on this account. The car was reserved from December 22nd 2018 through December 27th 2018 I was supposed to pick up at 12 noon and drop off Thursday the 27th at 2 p.m. On December 22nd, I took an Uber from my house to the airport and was dropped off at 10:53 a.m. Once I arrived I went downstairs to the main service desk with all the information did I read that I was required to have. The front desk agent informed me that I could not finalize my reservations because I had to have a major credit card to which I tried to show him what was stated on their terms and conditions and he quickly dismissed that and instead of offering to cancel my reservations he proceeded to give me the number to Hertz Rent-a-Car so that I could call them in order to cancel my reservation by this time it was about 11:30. So I did what I was instructed and called Hertz which took me about 25 minutes being on hold before I was able to get a representative. Once I did she was confused as to why I was calling Hertz when I had reserved the car with Dollar rental. She then proceeded to transfer me 2 a dollar rental representative which took another 20 minutes if not longer to get someone by this time it was after noon and I'm trying to not only think of some way of how we can resolve this but also trying to understand what this representative was even saying because I could not understand her. Not only was The representative was extremely rude insisting that I was a female she at no point offer to cancel this reservation so that I could get a refund and get alternative mode of transportation. At the end of the conversation she gives me the number to their main office in New York in order to get a refund. By this time I'm thinking that this reservation is already been canceled that someone has taken the initiative to cancel it since I have now spoken with 2 Service agents on the phone and two more while I was there at the airport. Okay, so by this time I'm on hold once again for an agent or representative from the New York office while I'm also trying to call my mother to let her know what's going on never did get anyone from New York at that moment so trying to call my uncle in order to make other arrangements I'm still on hold with the New York office this is now turning to almost an hour ordeal over my reservation time trying to get someone with this company to talk to me about getting my money back could not get anything resolved with anyone at the airport and by this time my phone had completely died I had just enough battery life left to call another Uber in order to pick me up to take me back to my apartment so that I can get phone charged & hopefully get someone on the phone and see about refunding my money. By the time I got back to my apartment, it's well after 1:30 roughly. I tried to call the New York office yet again and now I'm on hold for another 25 minutes and when I finally am able to get someone on the phone you representing this tells me that since it was past my reservation time that they could not offer me a refund it was passed my pick up time however I was on hold with them trying to get my reservation cancelled.   So, let's see if I have this correct. You deny me service because none of your representatives or for that matter, your entire company won't stand behind their terms and conditions. Not one of your representatives offer to cancel my reservation so that this sort of thing doesn't happen. However, they did shuffle me around just long enough for the "refund window" to slam shut in my face. I spent a total of about 4hrs ON HOLD(didn't get a representative)trying to get this resolved and when I was finally able to get someone on the line, Marie, from whatever call center was so rude, so unprofessional you would have thought I would have beaten up one of her kids. Every time I ask to speak with the supervisor I was told that they were on another call and they were too busy to take my my call. The last correspondence I had with these people was online once again and they said that they did or was aware of the issue and to give them 24 hours and someone would get back with me. $246 it's not a lot to most people, but to me it was worth more than gold. It was one of the only chances I had to visit family who I haven't seen in months. The worst thing about this whole ordeal was that none, not one Dollar Car Rental representative, from the call center, front desk, online booking agent or curb side check-in was remotely Pleasant, nice, kind, sympathetic or helpful. I'm the kind of person who if I make a mistake I own up to it this was not my fault and it needs to be corrected ASAP! I want a full refund no exception

Dollar Rent A Car car rental

On July 19 through July 23 2018 I rented a car from the rental car company " dollar rent a car" located in the Toronto airport.

After I picked up the car, I realized it doesn't have a GPS. Once I realized it doesn't have a GPS, I wanted to return it, but I didn't know how to get back to the airport. I got lost and finally made it to my hotel .
On July 22nd 2018, I called the 800 customer service number and spoke with a representative at " dollar rent a car" and asked them if I can return the car a day earlier. The representative said I could. I told them I'm not familiar with the area and got lost many times and asked if they can have someone pick up the car. The representative said they can have someone pick up the car. The man asked for my hotel name and address, which I gave him and said they will send someone. ( the call was on a recorded line, please check the recording)
I went back to my room to wait. Around 3pm on July 22 2018, the hotel front desk clerk notified me that the tow truck driver was here. I met with the tow truck driver and he hooked up the car and I gave him the keys. I asked him if there is anything I need to sign or if I can get a receipt for returning the car.
He told me I didn't need to do anything.

I assumed everything was ok and that I would be credited for returning the car one day early .
On July 23rd 2018, I returned to the United States. On July 30, 2018 I received an email from
LEILA.[protected]@DTAG.COM, a representative with "dollar rent a car ", reminding me that the car was due back on July 23rd 2018 and asked if I wanted to return the vehicle or keep it longer. I was confused as to why they were asking me if I wanted to return the vehicle since I already returned it to them on July 22nd 2018.
I responded to Leila email, the representative on July 30 2018 and explained to her that i had called "dollar rent a car" on July 22nd to return the vehicle and had them pick up the vehicle.
The representative Leila, responded to my email on July 31 and said she would follow up with her supervisor and would close out my rental. At this point I thought everything is ok. A few days later I saw my credit card statement and noticed that "dollar rent a car" over charged me about $1300 U.S. dollars
I should have only been charged for three days.
" dollar rent a car " only credited me $106.42
Since August, I have been calling "dollar rent a car " trying to get this resolved, but have been unsuccessful.
I am dissatisfied with the service of this company . If I do not get this resolved, I will have my lawyer get involved.

We were told to bring the car back empty

Since arriving home my step father has had a few transaction taken from his bank

When we picked up the car at Orlando international airport
We could not understand the lady that served us
We were told to sign the rental form which we assumed it was just a formality

Dollar Rent A Car unjustified administrative fee

we had to pay 2 tolls while we were on vacancy round Denver
If we agree the fact that there was tolls along the way and that we have To pay thèse tolls we are unhappy to see that they have taken 'administrative Fee'
they had our credit card number and could easily take the money for the tolls without thèse ' administrative Fee' as you can look on the attachment (30 $)
So we think that you are not honest and we will never rent again a car by your services
For sûre we Will talk about this way you do to all people that would go to rent something in this company

Dollar Rent A Car obscene gas charge

Dollar does not tell you they charge 10 bucks per gallon to fill up tank upon pickup.
Whoever includes such an obscene profit margin (400%) should be obliged and brave enough to announce this upon pickup. Otherwise it becomes a nasty trap for well meaning clients. Who reads a rental car contract anyway? We kind of trusted Dollar not to use such devious tactics to turn a profit...

Misled by rental agent about fuel purchase option. When I picked up a rental in Denver in 5/2019, agent asked if I wanted the fuel purchase option at $2.79/gallon. That sounded pretty good at the time as I have always filled up before returning a car in the past bc of the excessive cost. What they didn't bother to explain, and I didn't know enough to ask was what happens if I return the tank at 3/4 instead of empty. I wrongly assumed they should refund at least 1/2 the charge since I used just over a 1/4 tank. There customer service is not buying that. Watch your 6 with Dollar, Hertz, Thrifty or you could be screwed also.

Dollar Rent A Car bait and switch at arrival counter

Long story short..reserved compact car, get to counter and find out we get a "managers special" which tuned out to be a van. Not what we ordered. Didnt want a van in Seattle traffic. And...we had to pay extra to get the car we wanted and originally ordered. Price reserved=265...final price of bait and switch=460. Complained to Dollar...no response.

Dollar Rent A Car service

Second day we had a flat tire. No spare and Dollar knew there was no spare. Dollar said someone will be there 90 minutes. Help arrived I 90 minutes and said they could not replace or fix tire. I called Dollar and they said a tow truck would come for car in 90 minutes. Then when car towed away they would send a car for us to go back to airport (30 miles away ) and we would get another car.
This was unacceptable. Alot of our time wasted. We got air in tire and drove to airport. .taking a chance with damaged tire. Anyway we made it and another car given to us.
We waster over 3 hours.
I believe we should e compensated for the inconvenience

Dollar Rent A Car car rental

H I just want to tell the horrible experience I and about 40 customers had to deal with at Orlando airport car rental. We use dollar ll the time but this time I have to tell you I will not rent from you again. We had a reservation with your company 5 months in advance and paid for it up front. We got to the desk and it went smoothly like always. however the clerk said to go to the end of the counter and wait to called for my car. Whatt? So I ask the person whats going on and he said to me you have to wait until we call you I asked him how long was I going to wait, he said about an hour. Whatttt?
WTF, where is my rental? I asked for the manager and was told he was cleaning cars. I told him to get him the F down here. He shows up and wants to know whats the problem. really dude, you really need to k now what the problem was? I told him I never waited for a rental over an hour for anyone. He said they were short staffed and that's why the delay. I don't care I needed to be at my meeting in an hour. Well he didnt like my attitude and said that noone else was complaining. At that point I asked everyone and they started booing him and chanting they wanted their money back. He wasnt happy with that response. Many people started started taking pictures and posted them on Facebook. of the people laying on the floor waiting. No compensation ridiculous. confirmation#H6952669084 booking#US996386560. Dollar Rent A Car rental

Aug 7 2018 our flight to orlando was delayed, our airline called dollar, to inform them, we were told all ok, on arrival to collect vehicle, dollar had cancelled it, we had to hire another vehicle, as they were not going to give us original rental, it cost $2, 874, we had no choice as we needed a vehicle, at end of holiday they charged us another $52, saying we had not refuelled, which we had to say we are not happy is an understatement.They are refusing to pay us back we will be seeking legal action if need be

Dollar Rent A Car customer service

Purchased a trip to Daytona Flordia on Oct.6th-8th, 2018 through Orbits with a Fire Department debit card. Upon arriving at the airport and maki g it to the car rental it was after 11:30pm and I was told that I could not use the fire dept debit card because my name was not on the card. So I informed them to use my personal debit card and once it was ran it did not go through which I wasnt sure why because the funds were in there. I told them to try and run it as credit which he would not do because he had already ran it once. He told me that I could cancel my reservations through Orbits and then he might be able to help me, which was not possible because it would effect the rest of my reservations for my trip. So then I was told that I would have to go somewhere else and hope that someone was there since it was after 11:30pm and they were closed. After being told this the man turned away and closed up the store. This location has pour customer service and hopefully no one else has to to go through a situation like this. I will not be returning to this company for any type of services.

During trip to New York (JFK Airport) I rented a car in Dollar Rent A Car:

- RENTAL: 10/01/18 10:32
- RETURN: 10/02/18 15:55 (1 day and 5 hours)
- Miles driven: 140
- No comments to technical condition during the car return,
- Amount of fuel on return - FULL 8/8
- Toll Pass for 2 days bought (no additional fees and charges should be applied)

TOTAL Amount Due: 247, 76 USD (scan of the bill attached)

In fact my credit card was charged 2 times: 350 USD (security) and final charge 597, 76 USD (over 2x more than on the receipt). I assume that the first charge of 350 USD should be canceled soon but the amount of 597, 76 was actually charged and booked on my credit card).

I apply for a refund of 350 USD (597, 76 USD charged instead of 247, 76 USD as on the bill) and to unlock the amount of another 350 USD blocked as security.

Dollar Rent A Car damage claim 6 weeks after rental

I rented a car at Dulles International and used it for two days in the local DC area. Upon return, the attendant noticed a small ding less than diameter of a dime in the windshield under the rear view mirror. I had not noticed this before and since there was no walk-thru when I picked the car up I have no idea if it was already there.
Fast forward 6 weeks, I get a phone call asking how I would like to pay for the windshield damage, total: $240. I had paid for the additional collision damage insurance and now I'm in the process of making calls and filing out form to get the claim approved through a third party insurance company. (waiting on approval)
It's completely ridiculous that 6 weeks goes by before Dollar contacts me. The cost of $240 is also a unrealistic amount since they can probably have the windshield repaired vs. replaced. Next time I rent a vehicle, I will likely walk past Dollar desk and go to another company.

Dollar Rent A Car poor business practices

I recently rented a car from Dollar Rent A Car in Cancun Mexico on contract # DCAN51-7881 LC/DL [protected].
The initial pick up process was ok but I was hustled by the rental agent to buy your insurance policy's... I use American Express to pay for the rental which includes $50, 000 USD of vehicle damage insurance from their carrier Chubb Insurance. I also purchased my own $400, 000 of liability insurance through a Mexican Insurance Company located in Texas so I was more than covered. It took me over 30 minutes of arguing to finally get them to accept my documents. I travel frequently to Mexico so I know the routine but why do I have to be aggravated before I can leave your facility? Ridiculous and unprofessional !

Well I got over it but upon return the attendant looked inspected the car found absolutely no damage and I was ready to go... my wife and I loaded up in your van and thought we were ready to head to the airport. I was asked to come back to the car because there was some kind of problem. When I got to the vehicle one of the attendants took the cover off the spare tire and told the manage I had some tire tool missing and accused me of taking it or loosing it. I never opened the spare tire compartment and stated that to the manager. He told me to bad senior but you are responsible for it and I will be charged 208.14 pesos to replace it! Really! Extort the Gringo... I tried to reason with him but he insisted and was extremely rude to me to point it turned into a screaming match! I told him I don't have time to play his stupid game since I have to catch a flight home.
I travel frequently and I've never been treated so disrespectfully by anyone in my 60 years!
Because of this incident I can assure you I will never use your agency again and will inform Trip Advisor as well as other travel sites of this Dollar Rental Branches rude and scamming business practices!

If you really care what your customers experiences are at this location you need to get your act together... myself and many other folks go to Mexico on vacation to relax and when we return home we want to stay relaxed and remember our nice visit. NOT BE AGGRAVATED BY THE DOLLAR RENTAL MANAGER AND STAFF!

Dollar Rent A Car unauthorized additional insurance costs; car rental

Hi,
On the 1th of July, I rented a car at Herz (see attached doc). for 279 USD. The total price to pay was 479$, because I had to pay a deposit of 200 USD (reimbursed at the end). But the employe at the Herz office blocked my credit card after trying twice to get the payment done. To solve the problem, the manager of the Hertz office in SF -Mason street, guided me to Dollar. He told me Dollar has a close partnership with Hertz. He explained the encountered problem at the employe of Dollar and asked her to organise a car rental at the same price, which she did. I paid in total 482, 49 USD (see attached receipt). Because the amount was approximately the same as at the Herz office and because of the very confusing and stressful situation, I thought that I rented the car at the same conditions as at the Herz office (282, 49$ + 200 deposit). But when I brought the car back and asked for the reinbursement of the deposit of 200$, they told me that there was no deposit and that the extra fee corresponded with an insurance. I didn't gave my authorization for this extra insurance. The employe just added it to match the total price with the initial price as the Hertz manager asked her to do but she didn't realized that she changed the sales conditions. As my credit card was blocked at the Herz office I couldn't pay with it at Dollar. A friend of mine (Natalia Hurt) paid instead of me. This is the reason that I didn't checked myself the payment conditions. I told here it was ok because the amount was ok.
Could you please analyse and return the 200$, originally reserved on the credit card as a guarantee ?

Dollar Rent A Car dollar did not acknowledge its personal loss policy after breaking

In June 2018 we took our family vacation to Ft. Lauderdale. On day 2 our vehicle was broken into and valuables and my money was stolen as verified by the Plantation Police Dept. Report. We had just left church and was at Red Lobster for lunch.

Upon returning the vehicle I received harsh chastisement by the customer reps at the airport return center. I provided the police report and filled out the Dollar Incident Report. Nobody mentioned anything about the Personal Loss Policy that covered the incident as we had full coverage as we always do.

After 30+ years of being solely a Dollar customer, it was hard treatment as such a critical moment for us, your customers. Why do you have such a policy in place when you are not prepared to live up to them, or maybe by not mentioning it, there would be no claims.

Dollar that is not right! We are your customers, your clients. I did not realize this until my recent trip to the US on last week...where I rented from ALAMO. I was relieved by their accommodating Customer reps who went above and beyond as this was my first rental with them. It may not be my last!

Dollar Rent A Car we paid twice booking rr [protected]

We reserved a car from a french website opodo
number [protected]
from 2 august to 16 august san francisco airort
we already paid 1459, 71 € to opodo in may 2008
at the desk a woman proposed to us another vehicle for the same price
due to this agreement we accepted un additional insurance

and we discovered today that dollar charged our credit card a second tim for 1437 $
it is a shame
i want to be credited before the end of the month
otherwise we will go in the court
