Dollar General Unethical behavior

I went into my local Dollar General on 03/28/2020 @ 10:15am. I had a coupon I wanted to use. My coupon was for Febreze Unstoppables and other Febreze products. The coupon below the small space Unstoppables that were on the shelf said the product was eligible for me to use the coupon. I get to the register to use the coupon and the $4 never came off, when every product I have was eligible. The manager there was very rude and unpleasant to deal with. She was a short lady with mid length brown hair, I do not remember her name. I have had several issues with her in the past but I never reported anything about my issues. I read my coupon closely again and it stated as I thought my items were eligible. I tried to explain to the manager that there was a discrepancy with the two coupons. They both said the item I had were eligible, but the $4 was not coming off. The manager proceeded to argue with me about the different coupons. The manage literally argued with me about the coupons. After arguing with me she went to the isle and grabbed a coupon but it was not the one next to the Unstoppables ( the item I was telling her about initially ) so of course the one she grabbed did not say anything about the one I was talking about or had. I was not dealing with an employee who did not know what was going on or how to resolve the issue. I was dealing with a manager. Someone who should know how to listen to understand, then diffuse/resolve the issue. Needless to say I was unable to use my coupon that I know the items I had qualified for. The coupon that I had and the coupon in the store did have different/conflicting wording, but they said the same thing and the items I had qualified for me to use the coupon. If the store manager has listened and been a little more helpful I would not have to be writing anything about my experience there.

First off, Dollar General's system is TERRIBLE for coupons. If you were trying to use two coupons, that was the problem. The system will only take one (the first one scanned). If you were trying to use a digital and a paper coupon, that was the problem. The digitals won't work with paper coupons the majority of the time. The only way to "fix" this is to just price override the item to match the coupon amount. However, price overriding an item can trigger a flag and they could accuse the cashier of stealing (which they are accused of frequently). I'm an Assistant Manager at Dollar General and deal with this frequently.

Dollar General Associates can't figure how to help me

I was sold a dollar general gift card at store # 16309 for $200 and was told I could use it to pay a bill online.. Which was false
I have unused card and receipt and have been trying to get my money out of card for almost a month. I have waited for an hour at store 3 times and another store 1 times and associates can't figure how to help me. I call customer service and they are not taking calls but direct me to fill form out online, which I have done 4 times with no response. I will not shop at a store where nobody knows how to handle a problem when one occurs. And corporate workers don't care to respond or if they have that many problems where they are unable to respond in a month

Dollar General digital coupons

I called in a complaint and spoke with an Elaine, she said she was the only Elaine in customer support complaint department and also said, a turn around contact would be only 48 hours? This complaint was called in 3.5 weeks ago?
I am concerned about the digital coupons... I have done everything and still can't get the coupons to be recognized at any of your stores..in my area,
I've been to 6. the cashier specifically the one that's in Spruce Pine NC, her name is Janet, was Very rude and very uncooperative when asking for assistance... I am handicapped and she is just so unhappy with her job, she verbalized to me after I asked about the coupons not working, she stated that "good luck getting anyone from corporate to help to you, our phone haven't worked here
In 10 months and they'd never addressed it with anyone here"
she is very disgruntled and very unprofessional even if this is a minimum wage job./employee. I've noticed that at the DG stores at Spruce Pine & Elk Park (Janet at Spruce Pine which she wasn't wearing a name badge either
And I had to ask her what her Name was.)
I called in to file a complaint and as above
A Lady by the name of Elaine took my call and assured me that turn around time for a call back was 48'hours.? This was before the quarantine for Covid 19'so this can't be blamed on that!.

Spoke so unprofessional about my supervisors as (Janet) does about the dollar general management.
She needs a.. good dose of "find another job out Of the public eye", she isn't good for anyone moral!
I am upset Due to having to spend so much money everytime I come Into DG and my iPhone is blocked from using Digital coupons...?! I am a customer that has worked hard all my life And now that I'm disabled I deserve for my coupons that have been clipped and downloaded to work...
The staff always says their phone never works in the stores either... it's fraud to advertise coupons then not be able to use?!

Dollar General employees at ola ar dollar general

I was fifth in line with no employee in sight. On my way in I saw 2 outside so I went to get them. It made the both of them very angry. 1 came back in the store with a unlit cigarette in her mouth, STILL MOUTHING. The phone rang and she answered it saying yes they had all the stuff put up and off the floor. The other employee then started telling the customers to back up in a very rude manner. Then it was my turn to be checked out and the first employee with the cigarette in her hand at this time started telling me that I had to wait my turn. The other cashier already had most of my stuff rang up and the employee with the cigarette told me I could leave the store. I told her I sure could that Danville was just a few minutes down the road. She went back out of the store and lit her cigarette and started telling someone sitting in a car that i was cursing at them so I stopped and told her that that wasn't true and I never cursed her .She begin yelling at me again to leave and I told her I was until I heard her lying to another customer. There are plenty of DG stores I don't have to shop in this one but it is in my hometown. The store is the dirtiest I have every been in.Might need to send a undercover CEO to check the store in Ola, Ar out. By the way I was in the store at 4:55 pm on 03/29/20.

Dollar General Management's Courtesy and Customer Service.

At a time where providing space between others and yourself is critical, the manager is rude and very self centered. My husband and I were in the aisle shopping we were deciding on the best bath cleaner of the choices offered. The Manager seen us from a distance standing in the aisle conversing and she came close to us and offered a rude excuse me as if we were totally in her way. My reply was you are excused and you did and not have to be rude. Next I stated that we should be trying to keep our distance of six feet at this time anyone and suggested that she could have used one of the other aisles as we were here shopping already. From there she proceeded to shout as I responded that she should get this right instead of being nasty to customers at this very trying time for all. With this major recession possibly on our heels we should all protect each other. She does not know if I have the Corona Virus just as I don't know if she has it for safety of herself and me as the manager the option to use other aisle would have suited her well. As a result my husband who did not say anything other than she was rude, and myself have been banned from our Dollar General as a result of an angry Manager who did not consider the Pandemic of this time.

Dollar General Heartland Farm Dog Food

I purchased a bag of the above dog food and the food made my dog lose weight fast. I fed according to the label and even started giving him more but still no weight gain. It did not even help him maintain the weight he already had.

Dollar General Reserving items and putting them on a list.

Asked to buy something in plain sight behind the counter and was refused saying they we're for someone else and had someone's name written in permanent marker on items. They are not putting items on the shelves just writing names on a list and not even telling anyone there is a list. Been there asking for items daily and was never told about a list then seen items behind counter piled up with others names on them and refusing to sell to me items I'm in desperate need of being a essential employee working in healthcare.

Dollar General store manager

one of my sons accidently brushed one of the employees in passing by in a very narrow isle and was ban from the store.
another of my sons was in the store and was identifyed as his brother and was humilated in front of other customers and on another occasion the same thing happened to yet another of my sons the store is located in alvord, texas and is the only dollar general here ..
my name is glen geron i live in alvord and would like to report that the manager of this store has over stepped her boundries and would like to have some feedback on the disiplinary action enacted
this behavior is not what i would consider acceptable especially as a store manager things can be worked out and resolved in a manner more becoming than this

Dollar General Discrimination of employees

At the store in Bloomfield NY, off of Route 5 & 20 store number I believe is 15283. The manager Anne has treated a male employee assistant manager Bryce different than the other female employees. She has intimidated him with firing him after one write up. What I heard on the sales floor is that he requested time off for a family emergency and she denied him and wrote him up. This is the second time I have heard an issue of discrimination as well. She treats the female employees with more respect and care. I do not believe that is right. I will no longer shop at DG as long as this is acceptable because this is ridiculous.

Dollar General Missing Piece of product missing

I purchased a Gameing product. When I got home it was had seal broken and the main component was not in the box I went back to store within an hour.They refused to return my money with the reciept. I called the customers service number filed a complaint and have the conformation number to prove it. I still have not been called or refunded. [protected] please calp me So I know I am being heard!

There's zero refund policy for software/games and stuff like that. You can thank the [censored] who try to buy games, play them and then return them for that. 👍

Dollar General Keeping products behind closed doors for their friends

The store I am referring to is located at 650 Tamiami Tr Venice, Fl 34285. I was walking past the store and a man came walking out of the Dollar General with a large bottle of isopropyl alcohol (not in a bag). I made a comment to my friend "wow let's go in I need some". I asked the man if they had more and he hmmm and hawed and said oh my yes it's in the back room but no. He seemed perplexed and caught off guard that he just got caught doing something he wasn't supposed to do. With his actions and attitude, I started to walk in the door and he said well shoot I guess I will have to go in and fess up and tell them I what happened. We walked up to 2 women that were stocking shelves (apparently they were the ones who gave or sold it to him) and he said "sorry if I had it in a bag she wouldn't have seen it". I asked where the alcohol was and she said we don't have any. He said back room and she raised her voice and said " there is none, we don't have any". I said "how convenient are you keeping this behind closed doors for your friends"? She told me there was none left and to leave the store if I was going to raise my voice. I have been there several times at 8 am when the store opens, and 5 pm after work and there is no necessity products on the shelves. I asked an employee when the trucks come in and she said they have not received a truck shipment in 2 weeks. In this time of need are your employees supposed to be doing this sort of thing? I will post this on a Venice website to make the local consumers aware, and will never shop at another Dollar General again if this is your practice.

Dollar General She is rude and cruel

Carolyn is rude to her employees and writes them up when she is in a bad mood. She has written up my son for having an odor about him and sent him home after letting him clock in and work for 15 minutes. She told him he has a small about him. My son showers and has clean clothes and wears deodorant every day. There was never any write ups until carolyn herself got write up due to the condition of the store. My son is a great worker and looks for approval due to being autistic. He is now in such a depression that he doesn't want to leave the house because she told him he stinks. She has told him he is to lazy to get a keyholder position but has no problem having him come in early or work on his days off. My son has quit due to carolyn and her rudeness. There is no reason for her to act the way she did. Philip is not the first person she has caused to quit. She keeps the store in constant disarray and has half eaten and open products on the shelves quite often. I feel she is failing as manager and needs to be restrained on her interactions they and customers and employees as well as in how to keep her store clean.

Dollar General It is illegal to up a price that much during a state of emergency

Im letting you know that I am starting an online petition, which will garner tons of support, against your company for price gouging. It is illegal to in crease the price of anything by that much. I've already reported your corporation to the Attorney General of the State of Florida and plan on reporting to to the FDA, and Trade Commission. You and I both know that this is illegal. I do hope your company gets fined drastically and set in place. Why would you do this to your customers? Loyal customers at that? You also increased the prices for EVERYTHING ELSE but not enough to warrant an investigation. The egg prices warrants and investigation. I will make sure that is what happens.

The "Fresh" items' price fluctuate frequently. In the small amount of time my store has been a "fresh store" ( meaning the frozen/cooler food comes in on DG trucks) milk and egg prices have changed multiple times. There were two resets on the cooler (and price changes) set for weeks before all of this crap happened. If a $0.30 increase worries you, Karen, you need to reevaluate your life. Or get a job so $0.30 wouldn't bother you so much.

Dollar General No protection for employee and customers ???

In Live oak, Ca 95953; our Dollar general do not use any protections re: COVID-19 for customers or employees. But they want the Seniors to shop in their stores from 8 to 9 am. Where is the wipes to clean the carts for each consumers to use, where is the desinfectants for employees to clean the counters/registers every hour. No distancing is being used between people waiting at the cash registers. You need to talk to your managers about this health situation and make a change for the better of community. At this point I do not feel like shopping at your store unless changes are made. You are putting everyone at risk. Be accountable.

Dollar General The way I was treated!!!!

Today I was in dollar General on 2727 Edenborn ave Store #10414 Metairie, La 70002 I was ready to check out the first check out was a lady and she said if you have a debt card or credit card come to her so a lady was in front of me so I had a mask on my face protection against the coronavirus she put her sign up to go to the next registrants at me like she was crazy the she walked away and started talking to the guy at the next register and I was in his line so when I was checking out they was talking which was ruled than she walked to the door still talking to him i was finished when I walked out the door i said stupid [censored] when I got out side the guy ran to the door and hollyed mama who you talking to i said her and got in my car she ran out up to my car and I rolled down my window she started saying my mom did raise know stupid person and me and her when back and frout until I started rolling my window up what was that this the way your employees get angry and come after people in the parking lot i will never go in dollar General again i fear for my life.

Dollar General Shut lane after I'd unloaded my groceries

Once I unloaded my basket, the clerk came, closed her lane and told me to go to the next checker, but then reopened her lane to wait on the next customer.
When I got to the 2nd checker, and asked who that was, she said it was the store manager.
She was so extremely RUDE.

Dollar General The behavior of a manager

The incident happened on March 21, 2020. The store was in Pinnacle North Carolina. The store number is 16792. The person I am coplaining about is the manager of the store, his name is Bob. I went in the Dollar General on Saturday March 21, 2020. I told the clerck I had brought some clothes back on March 19 to exchange with my reciept. I had left a schick intuition razor in the bag that I had bought on the 18th. The manager heard us talking, he was coming from back area of the store. He ask what do you want, with a hateful tone. I told him about the razor and I aslo told him I need to exchange some clothes. He said with a very hateful tone; you was just in here on March 19 to exchange clothes. I told him I had bought clothes on March 18 and 19th. I told him I just got different sizes and thats all I want. He said, go ahead. I was back there looking for the size I needed and heard him talking about me to all the customers. He said, she brings stuff back all the time. I then walked up and said, I do bring things back a lot but I spend thousands of dollars in that store. I just live 2 minutes from the store. I was so embarrassed. He had no reason to talk to me that way. I was only wanting to get the right size of clothes. I told him I didn;t deserve the way he treated me. He said, very hateful, I am sorry, have a good day. He didn;t even put my stuff in the bag. I hear him talk to others like their thieves. It's unreal how he treats people. I really don't think he should get by with treating people bad. I will leave it up to you how to resolve the matter. Please do something.

Dollar General I have several times that you go to the store 03428 and the cashier she always on a bad mood very respectful and she starts yelling me

Dollar General Ride manager

A manager, a red head with glasses and skirts, used to be very friendly. I now encounter her being rude every time she waits on me. She works in the Lagrange Indiana location as well. I don't spend good money to be talked down to. She has no problem being nice and joking around with fellow employees but she has no problem being rude to me. Not haopy!

Dollar General Disrespectful employees

I was at store#08880 (wymore NE) I asked a question to store manager Tonya she was rude and disrespectful to me. I will not shop at this dollar general again until she is no longer an employe. I have respited issues and it is truly an inconvenience for me to have to go else where during this Covid19 outbreak. the closest dollar general to me besides this one is 20 miles away. If she continues employment i have no other choice. This is not the first time she has been disrespectful to me. I will also tell the rest of my friends not to shop there.
