Dollar General Service

I went to the store that is on w. Walnut on 4/28/20. I asked the manger that was on duty that if and where the disinfected wipes are. His reply to was they r behind the counter. I said oh ok. They r limiting one container of them per person. They want to do tp that way also. I was told many times from employees that u can only buy 1 container per person. Then I went to the store in woodson il and asked if the had any and she said no and I said something to her about that in jacksonville il store what they were doing and she said they just got a letter stating not to do that. Someone needs to do something with this store. I also noticed the plastic shield between the cashier and the customer are not up. That not fair to us that shop there and to your workers that have to work there. You r putting us all in danger! Also that store is always a mess merchandise all over the isles and some you can't even get down or see what on the shelfs. I have never done this before but I feel strongly something needs to be done.

Dollar General Condition of store and telephone problems

My husband and I go to store #14289 on 12235 West Pike, Gratiot, OH. We are both 69 years old and try to contact stores before we go there due to the virus to see if they have the product we are looking for. For the last 2 weeks or maybe longer, no one at this store answers the phone. Now for the last 4-5 days, the phone rings and all we get is static and then the call drops. My husband spoke to corporate office who indicated they would contact the Manager of the Regional Office and have him call us. He did call and my husband explained to him the problem along with other issues at the store, i.e. no masks on employees, no social distanting and the dirtyness of the store. He said he would take care of the problem and to call him if things were not resolved. That was 2 days ago and since then we have tried to call him only to get a voice mail stating to leave a message but the mail box has been full for 2 days and we still cannot get in contact with anyone at the regional level or at the store itself. My husband or myself would like to speak to this manager and we would like for someone to get this phone problem at the store taken care of immediately. Thank you.

Dollar General I have never in my life been treated so badly in a store

My sister and I went into the dollar general (store # 15729) in Albertville, Al. on 04-26-20 and I have never in my life been treated so badly in a store. We went in just to get drinks, paper plates, laundry detergent, garbage bags, and so on. We didn't get anything that wasn't an essential but from the moment we walked in the employee (Allison) had it out for us. She hasn't been working at this store long and I believe she was judging us on our appearance. This has been y go to store for the past 3 years and I really enjoyed walking in and seeing the employee's until now. Since they have hired a few new people its been a [censored] show. This lady was standing at the end of the aisle propped up on her broom with a go to hell look on her face watching us. We did our best to ignore it at first but then we could hear her telling the assistant manager (Danni) that we were walking down every aisle and touching things which is not true at all. Soon as we heard her saying that because she was so loud I'm sure other people in the store could hear it to, she hollers across the store that we need to hurry up because the store is closing in 10 minutes at this time it was 8:45 and the store didn't close until 9:00 which is not much of a difference but we knew it was directed at us because they were allowing other people to come in and shop and the ones that were already there was continuing to get the things that they needed. So we just decided to go ahead and check out even though we needed to grab a few more things, once we got to the register the Allison lady was standing there with a smerk on her face so I looked over to the assistant manager and ask her if she could check us out because we didn't want Allison to and she said yes so as checking out my sister asked who the manager was and Dani said she was the assistant manager and said that Allison was just freaking out because someone came in trying to penny shop and I explained to her that we wasn't trying to do that we were just trying to get things that we ran out of while my husband was able to keep the kids. Neither one of them had a mask on and the assistant manager never said a word to the other employee she was more less making excuses for her behavior. I told her I would just contact the manager come morning. As we were putting our bags in the car Allison came to the door with it cracked open just enough for her to stand between them and propped both arms up like she was some badass and was trying to intimidate us. She wastched us the whole time until we were out of the parking lot. The next morning on 04-27-20 I called the store and asked to speak to Jerrica ( the manager) I explained to her what happened and she said she had already spoken to Allison, and I was trying to explain to her that out of the 3 years I have never caused a problem with anyone there or even had any conflict whatsoever with any employee but her response was always yes ma'am until I was telling her about how we were being asked to leave and she said " I was told they just hollered to let everyone know that they were about to close. They should have checked the cameras and they would have seen how we were done but I told her we would not be back as long as Allison works there. Jerrica told me she could not fire Allison over this little incident but to me this wasn't just a little incident this was a very big deal because I've gotton to know most of the employee's and enjoyed going there. No customer should ever be harassed like that for no reason. We did nothing and I will not spend another dime there if they allow people tp be treated like that and I have now told my family not to go back either. We are not garbage, we are human beings too. I hope that no one ever has to be done that way again and for the manager to act as if your not telling the truth really pisses me off. Something needs to be done other than just asking her not to do it again. If she'll do it to us then she will do it to someone else. Danni don't need assistant managers position, she don't know how to step up and be in control of the situation. She allowed Allison to do all that. I do believe she is too scared to tell employee's how to have respect. I'm not even sure if I want to go back into another Dollar General again, I'm just disgusted with their behavior as an adult.

Dollar General Cashier service

My daughter purchased 3 solar lights for me at the Hulbert, Oklahoma store. The cashier did not bag them and in picking them up one dropped, breaking. The cashier looked at my daughter and pretty much said, "can't do anything about it" because my daughter dropped it. My daughter is 35 and a very responsible adult. I feel the company owes the money for the yard light because the cashier did not bag it after taking the money.

Dollar General District manager

the most racist district manager. She wants all black people. Hates you if you aren't black especially her 2 employees who are Hispanic and white males. She is rude to customers! She hates one employee so bad she demoted him because he has a 2nd job! She treats her employees very badly. She's always screaming at everyone including store managers! She needs to be replaced. The person she demoted is the best worker there! She knows the person who trained him and because she does not like that person she has been very racist and done everything in her power to make him quit. She has tried to fire him a number of times which were unsuccessful. She needs to be stopped. It is because of people like her that store will NEVER reach it's full potential

Dollar General Price discrepancy and irrational store manager at the dollar general store located in conyers, georgia store number 01427!!

My name is Denise Diggs and I am of sound mind and I have personal information about the incident that occurred on April 20, 2020.

On April 20, 2020, I decided to be a good Samaritan and help a homeless person. Therefore, I decides to purchase some canned Vienna sausages that were clearly priced 59 cents in that section. Once the sales associate started scanning my items I noticed a different price from what I saw on the price tags in the back of the store.

I offered to walk back to the area with the sales associate so that we both could confirm the price and that I was correct. Before we spoke to the store manager she stated that the sore manager was not going to change the price! And my response was did you ask him? After they both made a decision not to change it, the store manager decided not to change the price and stated, that if I did not like it, that I could always shop somewhere else ! Which I felt was a discriminatory statement after it was very clear that the price tag was in the wrong location for that particular item.

After, he made his smirk comment, I politely asked him, if I was a white person would you have told them the same thing? The store manager response was that, I was ignorant and that was racist remark. My response was ignorant and racist my ---! Instead of resolving the issue he instructed his sales associate not ring up my items, so I walked out and went to Kroger.

Further, the store manager stated that he was married to a black women which I did not believe. However, I left and contacted someone else that I know that is a manager of another Dollar General store and they confirmed that I was supposed to have it for the price that was on the price tag, since I was a customer and I did not change the price tag. It was also confirmed that the manager by the name of Clay is well known for being messy with both the customers and employees and he gets a lot of complaints which is sad because he is running off your potential business and employees.

Later, when I was trying to locate his district manager, I thought that I was contacting another location and I ended up contacting the same individual through via phone at store number 01427. To my surprise he changed his entire tone, he was not apologetic at all and denied that he stated that he was married to a black woman because he was gay! He also stated, that they were not allowed to provide us corporate information, confirmed that he trained employees for that area and he was the individual that I had the altercation with earlier.

Therefore, during our dialogue at approximately 2:05 pm which lasted 12 minutes, I questioned him and he denied 75 percent of the statements that he made earlier and I politely informed him that his statements was being recorded and recorded from earlier while I was in the store. During the last part of his statement he then offered to provide me Dollar Tree corporate information after I confronted him about making false statements. The store manager hung up in my face without providing me any of the information that I requested because he was frustrated after I caught him making several conflicting statements.

Personally, the way that the situation was handled by the store manager was messy, very unprofessional and I did feel racial undertones in his and the sales associates initial remarks. In addition, I feel as if they both need to be trained on how to be more rational with all customers when there is a mistake on the "stores behalf." Also, the sales associate that was assisting me appears to be messy and unprofessional as well because instead of her trying to accommodate me she is pointing out other excuses to justify their mistakes.

Lastly, I pointed out to him as a regular customer of Dollar General I have recently observed sales associates and store managers give customers items at the price tag listed when it was placed in the wrong area or section of the store. The store managers response was since last November things have changed and I politely informed him again that this was recently in January and February of this year while another manager was there.

To resolve this I am asking that this matter be investigated before I contact your CEO in Tennessee and I will provide all the recorded statements in both conversations on April 20, 2020. It is sad that I have to take such a drastic approach however, when you are dealing with pathological liars who abuse their authority such measures have to be taken.

How rad, this klansman showed me a fake picture of him with a black woman and a black girl about a year old to get away with being racist. I bet that picture was not of him and his family. I bet he used photoshop to include himself with the woman and baby. If she is his wife she needs to stick with her own kind. He is probably trying to make her and the baby act white and hate their own race.

To those who are replying to my post mind your own business. I did not ask for your opinion and it is obvious that you are either.

1. White
2.THe store manager
3. An employee of the store.
4. You are KKK members.

Your posts are racist as the manager. I bet that none of you would be talking to me in this way if I were white. I still think that the manager is lying about having a black wife. I asked him to show me a picture and he showed me a picture . I bet he just keeps that picture of his wife and black "daughter" so that when we see him for the racist hat he is he can defend himself. I doubt that picture in his wallet is him. I bet he used photoshop to make it appear like he was with his black "wife" and "daughter. I bet he and all of you are members of KKK. Get of my post and mind your own business skinheads.

Dollar General Kids hanging out in parking lot destroying vehicles

My mom finally got out of the house and went to the Dollar General located in Simmesport, La. She was in the store for a very few minutes to get the things she needed. When walked out of the store, her car was egged with raw eggs. She was to scared to go back in the store and report this, so I went in today and just lucked up that a District Manager was in the store. I told her what happened and she said she was going to talk to the manager of the store. This is not the first time that things like this has happened at this location. Last year, I witnessed a guy ride up on a bicycle, grabbed clothes hanging outside on clearance rank and threw them in a waiting vehicle. This was reported to manager and nothing was done about it! These people know that there aren't any cameras outside so they're not scared. I know of some of the elderly customers will not shop there anymore because they're scared! Something needs to be done about situations over there. Our police department will not help with problems like this.

Dollar General I was threatened with a gun by one of your Inverness MS employee

I Ealla Moore was in your store in Inverness, MS Store number 19950 about 11:00 am Saturday morning April 18, 2020. I was treated so rude every other customer that came into the store was complaining about her attitude. She was snapping everyone up and being unprofessional. As I walk into the store there was a signup that read three paper products per customer. I wanted to purchases two packages of paper towel as I approached the counter I heard her saying that my children are at home I am tired of telling them that they could only by one paper towel and one tissue they suppose to be grown but they act like they can not understand. There was no sign up in the store that stated this. A customer asked for bleach her response to them was I can not do anything as long as people are coming in this store. I believe her job is to serve the customer not to make them feel less than a human being. As I made my way to the counter she began to talk crazy to me so this caused me to respond in a very negative way whereas I used some profanity toward your employee. At this time she said I am going to call the police so I said yes call the police so I can show her the sign in the door that's when the other employee went to the door and took down the sign. That when she opened her mouth and said she had a gun in her car and that she would shoot me my response to this was going ahead you are going to have to shoot because I am not scared of no gun. There were a store full of people at this time. My complaint does you allow your employees to be rude and degrade your customers or, talking about shooting them as much store violence this country has seen. As angry as I am now the experience that I had at my home town store will never be forgotten by me nor my friend that was in the store with me at the time.

Dollar General Poor customer service involving pandemic supplies

04/18/2020 around 9:15 am: I was checking to see if this store had their chemical supplies on the shelves. At the time a gentleman and a lady were in the process of stocking their current shipment. I asked them if they had received any Lysol disinfectant spray or wipes. The lady replied: "we do not know and if we did it would be tomorrow before they would put it on the shelf and I would need to check back tomorrow". My concern is that if they were currently stocking, why would I need to come back tomorrow and why wouldn't they had put it on the shelf today. I feel like that is not good customer service especially during this current situation the world is facing.

Dollar General Two employee's

On this date, 4/17/20 at 10:24 am I was shopping at my local dollar store (#14481) where I shop regularly, as I was doing my shopping, there were two young males restocking the shelves and as I was going about my business buying what I needed, one of them had made a statement towards his co-worker, "do you smell vinegar?"(very loudly) as I was making my way down one of the isles and his co-worker's response was " YES! I smell it!" Mind you, I buy vinegar from this particular store once a week, as a cleaning agent. And for this I was being scrutinized for purchasing an item on a regular basis?! I am not going to be scrutinized or disrespected by two Dollar store employee's (with immature behavior) for their humor! Very unprofessional and down right despicable! As of today, I will no longer be shopping at this particular store.

Dollar General In the current environment, such lack of concern for your shoppers does not bode well.

Today at 8:30 am I went to the above business for milk. As I was in the the checkout line a lady in front of me began chastising the shopper in front of her... saying that, in today's environment, it was not right for her to take all the cleaning supplies and paper products, leaving nothing for anyone else, that all other stores limited the items to 2 per shopper. I looked and sure enough the shoppers cart was full to the brim with cleaning supplies and paper products. The complaining shopper asked the cashier to get the manager. The cashier told her the manager was not available. Per her manager it was not her job to dictate how many of any item a shopper may buy, but rather it is her job to sell items.

This was a very contentious exchange of words. I and others agreed that in the current environment, the greedy shopper should have been limited to the certain number of cleaning supplies and paper products. The greedy shopper was checked out and loaded the items in her car.

Like I said I was there only for milk, but had I been there for cleaning supplies or paper products, the final outcome would have been different.

In the current environment, such lack of concern for your shoppers does not bode well.

Please respond, as I would like to not have to may this a public issue.

Thank you.

Dollar General Shopping carts not sanitized

On 4/15/2020 and other dates I have shopped at the DG store on Pine Hollow Rd. in Kennedy twp. 15136. The shopping carts are being used by customers and not cleaned or sanitized after they use them. The store is understaffed and no one there to clean the carts. W ith the Covid19 virus so easy to catch from others this is a real concern for me. Dollar General needs to have a dispenser with sanitary wipes at each entrance so customers can wipe the cart before using it. That would be a good thing for public health!

Dollar General Poor customer service.

I visited your store in Belleville store # 16112, I was looking to purchase a 13 gallon trash can with a lid. Found the can, not the lids, so I saw an employee stocking and asked if there were lids in the back maybe because there were none for the can I wanted. Her reply was, "guess we don't have any", so I went the the cashier who I assumed was an manager, (maybe they should wear different color shirts so customers know from a distance know when they see a manager) and I asked her the same question and got basically the same answer. No one tried to help me or offer another suggestion or anything. They simply didn't care. I was a front end supervisor at Old Navy for 10yrs. NEVER would these responses be accepted. Customers are the reason they have jobs. I really suggest you implement customer service training with new hires and a brush up course with current employees. This store is also constantly a mess! Every hour the store should be looked at and picked up. Very hard to shop for clothing in your stores, everything crammed in and all over the floor.

Dollar General you clearly don’t care for your workers

So I am a regular at the dollar General on University Dr in Huntsville Alabama. You all do not care for your employees. Always out of gloves. You do not provide mask. There is no shield up to stop them from getting sick. We need them. I was talking to a newer employee, Ardemise, and she has a newborn baby at home and comes in and never complains. When I say something about her work conditions she smiles and just says she stays sanitized and makes sure her customers are safe. I've seen her spray baskets and wipe handles all throughout the store. She has gotten in her hands and knees to find things in the back of the shelf for me but yet y'all do nothing to protect them?! Do you not care about their families? They don't even make double digit income. She would make more money and be safer on unemployment and when I asked about that she just insist she is there because someone needs to make sure the community is taken care of. I am disgusted at management not at least having the plastic shields up. That store is known for the homeless community being near so she is putting her child at risk just to make sure they are open for people like me. Moms that are short money I've seen her buy items they need during this pandemic which really just pushed me over the edge. All this chaos and she is serving and caring for others. She isn't scared for her health, or so she says, but she is making sure we are okay. Well I am scared for her. What if she is fine and her baby gets sick. We need people like her who care for others. We also need Lysol and toilet paper. Fix the work conditions or we will have to take our business elsewhere because they aren't protected so I will not expose them.

Dollar General I have shopped at this location since it opened and over the last year it has had many issues with employees

On April 13, 2020 I was in your store located at 2885 Ovilla Road in Ovilla Texas store #06298 and was appalled by the service that I received. I made my purchase and left but I had forgotten something and I went back inside. While I was in line waiting to be checked out I heard a show that I am not familiar with playing and was surprised that the person that checked me out had her phone propped up on her key board and was watching a video on her phone. After she checked me out I ask to speak with a manager and she state she guess that would be her. Needless to say I just left. I have shopped at this location since it opened and over the last year it has had many issues with employees. I do not know of anytime that it would be alright for any employee much less a manager to be watching her phone while checking out a customer. There seemed to be plenty that could be done as the isle was crowed with boxes and one was completed blocked by a basket full of items with a hand written sign that said do not touch items inside basket until 4/13 signed by the manager.

Dollar General store # 18928 in vega, tx

Like many residents of our small town, I happily welcomed the arrival of the local Dollar General store; it was well stocked, clean and bright, and offered residents increased shopping opportunities.
But the store is becoming increasingly disappointing in some ways, mostly because of cluttered aisles. When I say cluttered, I mean aisles partially blocked with unstocked merchandise, and rolling carts full of same. This is undesirable, if for no other reason, from a safety standpoint. One of the main aisles in particular has been clogged with carts that have been in in the same spot for several weeks. Local residents are now muttering about the clutter. There are two young women on duty in the late evening who, while cheerful and friendly, conduct themselves much like schoolgirls on recess, seemingly taking every opportunity to visit, while stacks of merchandise remain unstocked.
On a positive note, the young man who is apparently the manager, sees to it that the store is clean, and that customers' needs are met; he is cheerful, helpful, and attentive. He is definitely an asset, and is community minded.
I bring up these concerns because I would like to see the store remain a viable shopping option for our community. I fear, however, that if the trend
continues, this store will one day soon become like some of the cheesy, extremely cluttered Family Dollar stores in Amarillo.
signed, Michael Paschel

Dollar General milk

Dollar General in Trinity, NC -hey 62.
I needed to buy whole milk & 2% milk. The manager said no. She was limiting me to 1 gallon.
She said I couldn't come back later. She said no one else could come back. I wasn't getting the same type and she told me I could get chocolate. I needed whole & 2%. The other locations in Trinity, Thomasville, and High Point NC do not do this. This lady is discriminating! This is only not discrimination if it is the same at the other locations.

Totally disappointed, will not shop here again and will let my community know.
