Dollar General Wet floor and dangerous conditions

I live in St. Matthews, South Carolina. The Dollar General is located in a 1950' era grocery store. The roof leaks after each rain storm. I went into the store at about 5:30 p.m. on 7/8/20. I was looking for toilet cleaner and sympathy cards. The store was partially flooded. There was yellow tape on some of the isles, but not the one I went down. My left foot slipped and twisted my ankle and knee. I did not fall, however, the ankle was very tender and swollen for 3 days. The "Manager" took my name and number. I have not been contacted and need medical attention for my ankle and knee. I called Dollar General Customer Service and was on hold for 45 minutes before being disconnected. Please advise. My e-mail is [protected]@yahoo.com

Dollar General Poor customer service

I was in the dg on 28th street in grandville michigan tonight (7/11/2020) I had to walk there as my car is in the shop and I needed just a few things, I had my mother with me and she is 77 and in a wheelchair. I was rudely hollered at from a woman whom I believe is a night manager, she told me we are closed at 901pm and I said to her ok I just need to grab one more thing went to get it and she got real rude and said I had to leave because they were closed. I was checked out at 906 pm, this lady was so rude about it I really do not want to shop there ever again however it is within walking distance to my home. I was appalled by her attitude and the way she spoke to me and my mother.. I have worked customer service my whole life and I have never ever spoke to a customer in the way she spoke to us. I wish I would have gotten her name but she went into the office. I do not feel that this situation was handled properly. Most places if they are closing will be polite and give you a certain amount of time to get what you need and check out.. She was very rude and unprofessional I have read some of the complaints on here and I really hope you do something about this employee in my opinion she should not be in customer service

The employees are rude, the manager is the worst of the all. Stacks of empty boxes block isles. Carts with full boxes are parked everywhere. We need this store! The company is loosing money with all the empty shelves. If I can not buy it at DG I order from amazon.

Dollar General Worse employee and do not follow cdc protocol

This had been an ongoing cancer on this location and customers are upset!
I Am a local resident here in Quincy, CA for 15 years. Our Dollar General here is filled with vile toxic employee(s) Tina who recently got rehired (bad hire then and now) and the other cashiers (bad hire) likes to make inappropriate comments about their co-workers and customers on the sales floor where people can hear, but when confronted they make is seem that we miss heard them. This is a place of business and this reflects on everybody. Along with gossiping with offensive context is not acceptable. This location have had bad reputation for a while since the beginning and this is not helping. They are rude to customers and they ignore people, not to even say hi when people comes in as if we owe them to be open.

They also said that Dollar General Corp.advised them to use coffee filters to use as a mask and that's the company order which is shocking there is a post about it on facebook believe it or not. This post is from the Employee who is named (Vanessa) Her mother who is concern for her kid since she recently had given birth.

There is a Pandemic going on! This makes your Company look bad. We need to follow the CDC protocol and you guys don't sanitize your store! It is disgusting, dirty, and trip hazards all over and the 6 ft apart cannot happen because of how tiny that store is. We will not shop there until you guys put something in place and discipline the whole staff. Spreading false rumors and gossiping towards all the businesses that they don't like is a form of bullying,

We are also an old business owners in town, passed down through generation from our families and we support all the recently opened establishments because it brings options and gave families jobs. All those "new comers" support our businesses too. Your corporation is big enough to afford an webinar. Our community is disgusted with the hired employees. It will only get worse if nothing is done. We are asking you to review any recent complaints because we are sure that the managers or store managers is not doing what is needed. The DSM must do a surprise visit because you will literally walk into a surprise of the appearance of the store and ill the mannered conduct the staff possess. It is such a shame how a small town is acting towards one another specifically this location.

Thank you so much for understanding.

Dollar General Employee

There's a young girl with dark hair and glasses that works there. Every time I come into the store she is always rude and hateful not only to the people she works with but the customers too. She has also sold me tobacco products without asking for my ID. I go in this specific store at least 2 times a week and due to her unprofessional and piss poor attitude I will not be returning to this particular store. I hope this matter will be taken care of in a timely manner so you won't lose any more customers.

Thank you

Dollar General Was returning an item that I didn't order.

On July 6th 2020 at 3:15, I entered the Dollar General Store, (address above) and brought a pack of Marlboro Lights Regular, and Two (2) Lipton teas. My items were put in a bag, I paid and left. Getting close to home, I reached into the bag to get one of the teas and noticed the clerk gave me Marlboro 100's.
I went back to the store to exchange the Marlboro 100's to regular Marlboro and find out from the Assistance Manager, who waited on me, her name is Sarah Buyers, that I could not exchange the items.
I replied, you don't have to exchange them, just give me a refund since this was not my doing or fault because I would like to purchase the right one's with my refund. It didn't matter to me what she did with the Marlboro 100's that I did not order.
To no avail, she would not do either. She must take responsibility and do the honorable thing by the customer. This was completely Sarah Buyers doing. So I ended up buying the right Marlboro.
My desired resolution is a refund, that all.

Dollar General Customer service complaint

Tonight around 7:40pm my son was in need of a new basketball for a tournament the following morning. We live 25 mins away from the nearest Walmart and due to covid they close at 8:30 so we wouldn't of had time to go to dollar general here in town and take the chance of them not having one and then rushing out of town to Walmart but we also didn't want to make the trip if it wasnt needed so I decided to do what any normal person would do and call Dollar General to ask them first. The lady that answered the phone says she didn't know if they had them or not, she said I should just come into the store and see for myself. I explained to her about our time limit and this is why I was calling. I then asked her if she could just go check for me and she told me no because she was to busy. Now I have worked in retail several years and Know for a fact thats no what you tell the customer. I also was in upper management for years and if I would of ever heard one of my employees say this to a customer I would of been floored because customer service is always top priority everywhere. And this isnt the first time I have had an unpleasant experience at this store. It happens almost every time I go in there. Its short staffed, with rude employees and management and not tidy one bit. Sometimes you cant even walk thru an aisle without tripping over something. Something needs to change!

Dollar General Rude employees / unethical behaviour

I have been shopping at the Dollar General in Maben, MS because it is convenient in my traveling home from work each day. I have noticed that the person, who I am guessing is the manager, JoAnn, has become increasing rude to especially to the white customers. In this time of racism and discrimination and all the wanting it to end, this is not appropriate or acceptable. I have noticed it with not only the customers, but with the employees also. I actually have started to say something to her, but didn't want to cause a problem in front of other customers or the employees. She has sat in the office while the cashiers/stockers/workers have a long line, working hard, assisting customers and such. They have asked for help and she just sits there and says she is busy. Well, if this keeps up she won't be busy long because there will be no customers. I can always count on someone named Hope and another named Jessi who are always friendly and willing to help and always seem to keep busy working. Some new girl, not sure of her name seems really lazy. All of this might seem strange, but I work with people and read people pretty well. I have to with my job. JoAnn is not a good fit right now. The other workers seem kind of lazy, but at least they aren't rude. Sorry to be so negative, but I am tired of being treated like a second class citizen and I thought you should be made aware of the situation before it got out of hand and causes a really big problem.

Dollar General Check out, clears with no maks, eating candy and touching her mouth and then my items

On 7/05/20 at approximately 16:50 I went to the Doller General and picked up 4 items and placed them on the counter. There were 3 clerks behind the counter, and none of them were wearing masks, which was offputing, but the one checking me out, put several pieces of candy in her mouth, one at a time, between touching the items I picked up. This is revolting and a very good way to spread COVID -19.The clerk looked to be in her 20's. I am in the high risk category and so is my husband. The things the clerk rang up, I told her that I did not want the items because she wasn't wearing a mask and touched her mouth, and touched every item she placed in the bag. She did not even apologize. I am a nurse practitioner and I will be reporting this behavior.

Try not to have a problem with basic human nature. Fact of the matter is there will never be a vaccine for covid-19 so the best thing you can do is increase the spread to achieve herd-immunity. Slowing the spread is only giving you more time to contract the virus. Best practice here is those who would survive the virus to allow natural spread, and those who would die to try and take precautions. If the spread was natural we would have already achieved herd-immunity and you would no longer have go worry about the virus any more then you would have to worry about any other virus.

Dollar General Manager

I went in store to buy a few food items as I usually do and all of a sudden the manager starts yelling from checkout that we're not allowed in the store. She said she reviewed cameras and we looked sketchy. She saId we needed to leave bedore she called cops. She never could tell me that I had stolen something or what exactly what I did that was sketchy. I feel that she didnt have to yell across the store in front of all of the other customers. Im embarrassed because she made me look like a thief and I feel like she was extremely rude. I guess buying things and looking at clothes is sketchy. I feel discriminated against because im poor and stressed and I look that way. Now I cant even go im a nd buy food as I have no transportation and everything too far to walk. Shes rude and should not be a manager

Dollar General Cashier

I was at Dollar General located at 22100 Coolidge Hwy, Oak Park MI 48237. On Thursday July 2nd, 2020 Between 11am and noon. The cashier who was working at the time is rude, unprofessional, has bad manners. I asked her a simple question she replied with a very nasty attitude. I left without buying anything. Also, the store was filthy and shelves empty. I do not recommend spending a dime at this location or any other Dollar General locations. Avoid at all costs.

Dollar General Covid 19 guidelines ignored by store.

In Kentucky stores are supposed to practice safe measures in regard to Covid19. At 5 pm on July 4 the parking lot was full and multiple members of multiple family were in line all the way to freezers. No one wearing mask, no one cleaning carts, no one standing 6 ft apart because too many people allowed in store and not enough employees to handle holiday weekend shoppers. I have remained healthy for past but feel very uneasy after visiting Mc Daniels KY store. I will advise all locals to stay away from DG stores. Please fix so we can shop safely.

First of all, I have been a front line worker for the last 30 years and i want you to know that I never leave an online complaint about a store that I shop from, I just stop going there. However this isn't about me, this is about the safety of my family and the families of a small community. I'm not going to leave you a letter here, but i just thought you should know that in my community your store is known for not following any of the safety guidelines put forth by the CDC. I personally have been in both your stores in Naylor Missouri and poplar bluff Missouri and have never seen an employee wearing a face mask or practicing social distancing. My main concern is the store located at rt 61 box 1645 Naylor Missouri, The manager there openly admits that she doesn't wear a mask and does not require her employees to do so either. The only sign of any responsibility is the face shield behind the counter and the four Xs made out of dirty masking tape on the floor. My elderly diabetic parents shop there and I went in that store with my face mask and the employees smirked and looked at me like I was an alien because I was being responsible and doing my part to help protect my community. Again, I don't make bad reviews about stores where I shop, but I have no choice when a store threatens the lives of my family. Please address this before it is too late, and thank you for your time and patience.

Dollar General Store manager

I am furious! I went to dollar general this evening around 7:30 pm. My fiance'and I had a cart full of things. As we were on the pet aisle looking at treats and toys for our 2 dogs we were approached by "the store manager". A heavy set black woman. She did not have a name tag on. She said "I don't know what you two got going on but you need to leave!" then she proceeds to look at me (I have a facemask on) and tells me "i've told you before to leave and not come back". This was said in front of other customers. First off... This woman has never laid eyes on me and i've never seen her! To be accused like she did us was not right. The way she approached us was not right! I've never felt so humilated in my life! We had a cart full of items and we were not even finished shopping. I asked for her name and corporate number several times and she would not give it to me! This is unacceptable behavior for a manager! She needs retraining to say the least. We left the cart and went to a different dollar general and spent our money. But to be honest with you, I don't think we will be shopping with dollar general again. It's not worth the humility. The stores address is 3100 stantonsburg road greenville nc 27834. Like I said she refused to give me her name or corporate number. Also i've included a picture of the receipt showing the money we spent after leaving that store.

Dollar General Poor customer service provided by store manager (Renee).

On 7-1-20 I experienced HORRIBLE customer service at the Dollar General on Phillips Ave here in Greensboro Nc. When I got to the check out there was nobody at register 1 or 2. The light was on at #1 so I placed a cart full of items on the counter. Renee (store manager was on her shirt) comes from around the corner almost three mins later and says "I'm at this register " as she was walking up to register #2. I asked her if she wanted me to moved ALL my things to #2 and she just gave me a blank stare and started cracking her knuckles on her hands. So I begin to move all my things and I say to her "you realize that this light isn't on this register and it is on the other one right" and she completely ignores me. So I ask her if she heard what I said about the light and she rolls her eyes and said "I heard you". I paid for my things and left. Realized I forgot paper towels and went back in the store. When I enter the store she is talking about the fact that I said something about the light to another employee. The other employee then explained to the "store manager " that she should have given me an explanation as to why the situation took place" the other employee then apologized for the store manager. After speaking with my wife about the situation we will no longer be shopping at this or any other Dollar General. If Renee (or the person who said their name was Renee wearing a store manager shirt) remains an employee Dollar General will lose customers daily! She either needs to be retrained, demoted, or fired.

I asked her if water was [protected]@$4? She said she didnt know. I asked her if she had an ad? She walked off a little resumed talking on phone and said these folks already getting on my [censored]ing nerve. Ok mind you it was only about close to 9am. I tried to contact someone named Bryant who another store said they would give him my number but no response. I left there saying I would never patronize another dollar general store in my life. But I went to store at 1750 4th avenue Bessemer Alabama 35020. My experience was great the young lady that waited on me I told her what happened and she reminded me to never let anyone upset me enough to use profanity back. That store was cleaner and perfect customer service. My name is Deborah Baldwin. My phone number is [protected].

Dollar General Poor management of the store

I have been a customer at this dollar store (9000 S Harrah Rd, ) since they first opened & I loved it. It was convenient, the people were pleasant & knew what they were doing. Now, I won't go into this store due to the fact that there's always boxes upon boxes of products sitting in the isle's, & no one can find anything. The shelves are usually bare in spots due to the fact that nothing gets put out where they should be. The ladies that were in charge of this store prior to 2020 were excellent, this made this store something to be proud of but under this new management it's declined in the quality that people around this part of Oklahoma enjoyed. I have noticed that the business has declined in this store with pretty much the same disappointments. Most importantly, none of the employee's wear the masks. I'm a senior citizen with many health problems & can't afford to get the virus that's around, but they don't seem to care so you won't be seeing me in this store again. Now, I'd rather take my chances at WalMart..
