M. Before work, and better to buy in town, so then I asked would they ever consider a photo kiois at dollar general, she said no way I worked with photos at another store and they are a pain in the [censor] I would never allow dg to get that, mmmmmm kinda makes ya not want to shop there at all with those kinda of workers, the store is a filthy mess also, think they need to have more workers on duty now that the walmart is closeing in town very soon, just saying

Dollar General hostile work environment

On Sept. 18th 2017, I went to work (I was currently a full time lead at store 13410- Pemberton, NJ) as I usually do, that day imparticular I was outside passing time before my shift, when the acting SM and ASM, came out to join me like usual, however this day something was off. I noticed an attitude right away from the ASM. The ASM and SM start telling me how the recovery didn't look good from the night before, asking and complaining about the one cashier that was working, to be honest the two of them talk smack on all the employees
Who work that store. Making it sound like they are they only ones working. I know for a fact that I put my all in to my work when I am there. Shoot I even had to come in to run to the bank when I am not scheduled and I'm not on the clock. A lot of off the clock work takes place at that store by the SM and ASM. Anyway I tried to brush off the first conversation because it was time to clock in. So I did. And as I was counting change I had asked the SM about my hours, I stated that since they literally just mentioned about moving a new hire up to lead that may be I could work more days and could get a weekend off here or there, well that was the wrong thing to ask, because the next thing I knew I was being attacked verbally from not only the store manager but from the assistant as well. They stated they don't get weekends off (which is BS cause the SM gets every Sunday) and that they have been there longer. They both abruptly left the store. So I assumed it was over and went about my business taking care of customers and preparing my plan for that nights recovery.. Also the SM never works nights. And when she does her recovery is barely done if done at all, yet she has the nerve to complain about my recovery, which not only am I doing my recovery, but I also have to clean up after the ASM who is repeatedly leaving shopping carts full of either trash or product in the isles along with rolltainers making it hard for the customers to maneuver the isles. Also she is outside smoking more than she is inside. So anyway, I went off topic, back to the hours. When I initially was hired in March, I was under the impression that I wouldn't be on all nights and I'd be able to have a weekend off here and there, that I was ok with, but apparently I was wrong to think that, because April the ASM made sure to call the original manager who left the day I started, to see what was said to me. Well she and the acting SM came back into the store all worked up and the ASM had her phone in her hand and stated she had Athena on speaker and she was to talk to me, the ASM's body language was very hostile. She practically bumped a customer out of the way so she could bombard me with this phone call, all while I was trying to ring up a customer. That was the last straw for me, for my well being I handed in my keys and said I was done. I had a stroke in May of this year and this added stress what not what I needed. So I left during my shift. I knew that was wrong. But I wasn't going to let the two of them attack me verbally like that. I am a hard worker and really enjoyed working for Dollar General. I love the customers. The drama from the two of them was like I was in high school again. I really hope that I still am able to work for this company, I would love to be transferred if possible to another store. There is actually a new store opening in the next town over, I've met the SM. He's a great guy. If you could get back to me regarding this, I want to know what else I can do if anything. Thank you for your time

Dollar General checkout

Today is sept 20, 2017. I stopped in dollar general in Williams town my because dollar general in Corinth always seems to have issues if there is a clearance sale and I don't really like that store much. Got to checkout at store 14783. As manager Felicia was scanning I told her I qualified for the veterans special today of the 11% off. She said didn't know about there being one today they did it last month. Told her I got msg. In my email saying it was sept 20. She said she didn't have a barcode to scan for discount. Ask to see my email showed it to her on my phone.. Another customer in there had seen it on her email.. I said well call your manger (after she told me for third time she couldn't give without something she should have gotten from corporate, that never came to her store). She spoke with her manager Sarah. While I stood there, her manager didn't seem to know about it either. She was going to try and call someone and get back with info in a few min.. I was at that register probably 12 min already and I told her I didn't have all day to wait there that every time I went to DG there was some sort of issue during checkout. To go ahead and let me pay so I could go, she said OK sorry I told her I was going to call main office she said that's fine. I paid and left store. My bill was only $29.95. SO not like 11%.

Was great amount its just the idea that every time I go. to DG there is an issue at register. I live in Corinth and was so happy when dollar general came to town, as I can get basic cooking items. Variety of basic food without driving 20 miles further to actual grocery store.

Dollar General management and staff

Im complaining about your store in box springs ga. Nothing will probably be done because it seems like nothing never gets done at this store. I know multiple people who have complained about the same issues but nothing is being done. The management at this store is ridiculous if there not outside smoking cigarettes and on there phone. There inside talking about there personal issues. I have been in there multiple times and there store assistant manager is having a meltdown about her personal life. Saying cuss words infront of costumers. I have witnessed candy and another employee selling pills and weed to each other at the store. What has the world come to when i dont want take my kids with me to a store.

Dollar General dollar general bathroom

I take my 2 year old son in to the bathroom at the dollar General location in Council Grove KS. The toilets are nasty, the soapy was watery, there was trash on the floor, there were open chemical containers. I run a daycare and this is a big no no! If this was my bathroom I would be out of business. It is disgusting in there. I will not take my kids in that bathroom again until it is cleaned. I should be able to take my newly potty trained toddler into a bathroom that is clean.

I must confess that the above post is a lie. I only made this all up because the saw me hitting my two year old son and reported me to social services. Because social services suspected that this is not the first time that I hit my son, and because they saw bruises on his arms and legs they placed him in foster care. I only made this up because they reported me because they suspected that I was abusing my son.

Dollar General manager

My girlfriend is disabled and has been telling me about the manager at the blue water, niceville store following her and making crude remarks . So tonight I went in to observe and the lady shot her nasty looks and mumbled stuff about people being on drugs. So she was the only register open and when we got to checkout she told us to go to next register and walked off, so we moved and she told the guy behind us she would be happy to help him. I work for my money and spend quite a bit in that store I have never been disrespectful to her and it took all I had in me to not say some really nasty things to her .I know this that store won't get another penny from me as long as she works there, my money may not mean anything to a large company like that but I have lots of friends that will support me in refusing to shop there.my girlfriend has a brain disorder that causes her to get the shakes sometimes and so she is now looked at like a drug user by a store manager and that is very wrong.

Dollar General extreme bad customer service

I went to store 7722 in Tallahassee, Fl at 8:14 a.m. to make a purchase, as I was walking towards the door an employee was smoking and having a conversation with a man. She greeted me, and I entered the store. I wanted to use the bathroom prior to making a purchase, the restroom was locked ... I called out for assistance but no one responded. I went to the door to ask her for the key. She stated they only had a key to the men's because the women's bathroom key was lost. Upon opening the door - immediately, a strong pungent, repulsive smell. Apparently, they use the men's bathroom to store mildew, dirty mops, rags, boxes etc.,

I mention the odor the employee "my helper will be in at 9:00 a.m." In addition to the above... there is an obvious breakdown of supervision / accountability to health and safety of the customers. The same employee allowed a customer to come into the store with his dog...a pit bull. They also were talking about something. To my knowledge - aggressive breed dogs are not service dogs!

Dollar General store manager

Manager was very rude. She was unaware of sale offered by your store. You advertised the gain deal buy detergent and softener and get fabric sheets free. I was told I could not get the sheets for free. That is false advertisement. She was very unprofessional with customers and was unconcerned. I will be spreading the word to not shop at this location. Your cashier apologized for the managers being so rude. Her name was Kim and the location is haughton louisiana.

Dollar General misplacement of my drivers licence (id)

As I was coming in with my family to go shopping. I went to the front counter with my ID so I can check up on my application to work there. I applied to them about a month ago and they kept repeating that they will call me ( they never did) so I finally went in there and I accidentally forgot my ID there. Now I have known from previous employment that if you find an ID that you should either put it in the safe or put it somewhere other then the counter for someone to either throw it out or steal. Now when I first called about leaving my ID there they raptly said that they haven't seen an ID anywhere. I then follow up and go into the store and the one girl gave me a horrible attitude saying yes we did find an ID but they couldn't find it. Finally I got fed up and called the store again asking them about the missing ID. She then told me that there was no report of an ID after she just asked another employee about it and the employee saying yes we did find an ID. After being able to talk to the store manager she told me that she is very sorry and gave me a $50 gift card while saying that she will keep looking for the ID. A week later I go in to grab the gift card and the same girl that gave me an attitude went on saying that someone could of taken it and thrown it out and that I should be careful next time about where I put my ID. Now that made me furious because it Is not my fault that they did not put it in the safe. Now because of this I can not get a job, health insurance, my birth certification, nor can I drive, all because these people did not put my ID in a respectful place for me to retrieve once I was able to get there. All I want is for someone to actually look for the ID and not blow it off and give me a horrible attitude.

Dollar General store cleanliness

I visited the Dollar General store at 827 Junction Hwy in Kerrville Texas on 09-18-2017 and this store was sooo filthy. It reminded me of a teenage boys room with crap and trash just piled everywhere. Much like a thrift store of used product. Trash all over the floor like they just lock the doors at night and go home without any cleaning for the next day. There was a large yellow step stool on a top shelf partially hanging off and to me thats a major safety problem along with all of the merchandise and trash on the floor. Its clear that the manager of this store simply dont care about the condition of this store. There was a ladder left on the sales floor for small children to climb and fall off of. This stores condition alone is a major liability in safety. The time of my visit was around 12:30 pm and there is NO WAY this store could have gotten that nasty earlier in the morning. This looks as weeks have gone by without cleaning. I can only hope this store doesnt catch a lawsuit due to a fall. It could be easily obtained. I did walk around taking pictures. It was the worst store I have ever visited. No organization. No one cares.

Dollar General management/customer service

location Dollar General # 10782
location 8.8 miles
7944 Mesa Rd
Houston, TX 77028

I arrived at this store in MY community before YOUR POSTED closing time at approximately 745pm. THe door was locked but there were shoppers inside as I could see them. Finally after standing at the door about 5 minutes YOUR EMPLOYEE (tall slim black guy with braids) came to door to let someone out but they were apparently waiting for another shopper because YOUR EMPLOYEE did not unlock the door. He looks at me and motioned with his hand across his neck that they were closed and went back to his mopping. So i go to my truck and get my phone to see the current time because I specifically left my house in time enough to get there before YOU closed. Your posted sign says 8am to 8pm everyday! You do a complete disservice to the community first by locking YOUR doors before closing time and making me, a consumer of YOUR product, wait outside for an EMPLOYEE to see me and open the door. Second disservice is to not honor YOUR advertised business hours.
I spoke to the guy through the glass door and he just ignored me. Not good customer service at all!
I went to Family Dollar and gave them my money.
Also by you locking that door with people inside has to be a violation of severals OSHA rules and laws. I would not want to be locked inside. What if a robber is already inside and now Im locked inside with them? What if a fire breaks out or anything happens and I have to exit quickly? I thought all entrance and exit doors are to remain unlock DURING BUSINESS HOURS?
Your liability will be greater if something happens and im prevented from exiting than it would be if you get some night time security for a few hours if employee safety is the issue.
You have a store, a place of business, in my community and I truly expect you to do business the right way.
I thought I took a picture of your sign as well but I guess not. You can see there are still ptrons inside your store along with YOUR EMPLOYEE mopping.

Dollar General digital coupons

I have had several recent transactions where my coupons aren't applying at check out. I have read the coupon policy with digital and manufactured coupons. One day a couple weeks ago the coupons didn't come off and I asked for my transaction to be voided and to just have my manufactured coupons given back to me. The store manager refused to give me my coupons. This happened at the 1781 South Jefferson Avenue Cookeville TN. I lost $10 in coupons. How can we remedy this situation? I like shopping at DG but with all the hassle with digital coupons and the incident of not getting my coupons back are swaying me from wanting to go back. Thank you for your time and assistance.

Dollar General dirtiest store i've ever been to.

The store in Palmyra Indiana needs serious managing. I went in there yesterday, 9-17. I've never seen a store in such a shamble. It looked like a tornado had gone through there. The shelves and freezer areas were barely stocked. More empty space than products. Every aisle had groceries, clothes and toys thrown all over the floor. The toy isle was almost impossible to walk down due to all the toys being in the middle of the floor. I said something to the only clerk working about how bad the store looked and she said that is what we get when they don't have enough people to work. I will never go back into that store.

Dollar General manager cussing at employee and not letting her use the bathroom

My cashier, Melanie, was very nice but she obviously had to pee. I told her to get the manager up here so she could go, she said she'd been trying. It was only them two in the store. She said 'Chiconda, i need to go to the bathroom', I'm not sure exactly her reply, but she cussing and screaming and basically told her no. It was rude and unacceptable. There were children present. This is not the first time I've seen this same woman cussing and being mean to an employee. It needs to stop.

Dollar General several racial comments

I was at the register to checkout at Dollar General # 1350 894 N Nova Rd
Daytona Beach, FL 32117. There was 2 black young ladies with there items on the checkout counter. One of the young ladies sprayed a feminine body spray and put it on the counter to purchase. The Manager Donna came from around the cashier desk, got in the young lady face and told her to leave the store. The young lady replied" I want to purchase my items" The manager advised her that she was calling the police to get her tress passed. The other young lady tried to make a purchase but the cashier didn't allow her to because the manger said "NO GET THE HELL OUT FOR SPRAYING THAT SPRAY". The first young lady stated" I am gone purchase the spray. Donna replied "NO you were going to steal it" The first young lady replied" Steal it, I have a job and money" Donna then stated YOUR PEOPLE BLACK PEOPLE ARE THE ONES STEALING AND GO SHAVE YOUR ARM PITS". The 2 young ladies departed. I stated to Donna that the comment she made was very offensive especially for me being a black customer who don't steal. Donna became very argumentative and confrontational. She replied" ok, so what she said something about my race first". I advised Donna that as a manager her actions were unethical and unprofessional. She then became very belligerent and aggressive. I asked for the manger she replied" I am the manager, Do you want the district manager? I replied" yes I need to speak with your supervisor". Donna bluntly stated " I'll give you the number but there is no need to call 407-***-**** nothing will happen. There was another customer in line who left her items and departed the store along with me. As we were departing Donna stated" Yeah leave Go shop at Family Dollar".
I shop at Dollar General generally. I would definitely not be returning to store #1350. On this day I have my 2 little girls with me ages 3 and 5 who witnessed this outrageous behavior. I was extremely offended by her actions.

I included a picture of Donna and the cashier who witnessed the incident. The cashier appeared to be frightened.

Dollar General assistant manager I am complaining about

Went to DG at around 10:40pm tonight. Was only grabbing cleaning supplies. I go to a different aisle to grab detergent...and run into Jenna, the Assistant Manager. She then told me they were closing in 5 minutes. She was very rude about it, like I needed to rush just because there were 5 minutes til 10pm. Mind you I am 8 months pregnant and walk pretty slow. She then yells "Everyone get to the front and checkout!" For someone to be in customer service...she is so rude, makes me not want to come to this store and buy things. She didnt have any manners or respect towards anyone. I walk to the cashier and there are 2 ladies checking out. Mind you they have about $130 worth of groceries. It took about 10 minutes for them to checkout. I waited patiently, no rush. One of the girls went back to look for something for her newborn. The Assistant Manager comes and says "you can't shop anymore we are closed". This lady needs to be replaced. The lady felt very disrespected and hurt. And also the new hired cashier was also upset, it was only her 3rd day. And while the cashier was checking the customers out, the Assistant Manager asked, "Did you bring in the carts!?" & she answered "no I'm taking care of the customers first". So the Assistant Manager throws the broom down and walks outside grabbing the carts and pushing them very hard in the door to bring them in. I would gladly be hired as a Manager and brighten this place up. Most of the staff don't last and some don't seem very respectful. This is the worse customer service I have ever witnessed.
