Discovery Channel Discovery Plus

ok you got me to sign up for Discovery + as i do really like the shows even though it thought it was shady how you took shows off existing apps! Anyway i' subscribed and have already cancelled in first month because the app is so horrible. Takes me an hour and half to two hours to watch a 40-50 min episode due to continuous problems of rewinding back to earlier parts of show and i battling to FF back to where i was! The worst app i've ever used and i like the shows and tried...just can't justify paying any longer for something that doesn't work.

Desired outcome: fix or take off air!

Same here. Wasn't happy about paying for the service but finally caved and purchased. After trying to watch three or four programs I gave up. Rewinding and buffering...what a pain. Just cancelled after only three days of fighting with it. Shame on you Discovery for taking away programs and then offering a sub par service to replace.

Me too! I only have it on my roku at the time (haven't uploaded to my smart tvs yet) but between the buffering and resetting itself back, like you said, you can't get through a program w/o losing interest from frustration. Will likely cancel also.

Discovery Channel Discovery +

I currently have cable. I have a large monthly bill which I pay so that I am able to watch my favorite television and cable shows.

I particularly enjoy many shows on the Travel and Discovery channels.

One of my favorites is the Expedition Bigfoot series. I watched last season and looked forward to the new season beginning. The new season did begin early in the new year; 2021. I watched the first two shows and looked forward to seeing the the 3rd episode the following week...however, I didn't get to see any new episodes.

Why you may ask?...I don't stream; and don't even know how, and even if I did, I wouldn't pay an additional $4.99, to sit at my computer to watch shows in my home office...especially since I already pay a cable company to enjoy television. The travel channel only ran the first two episodes for several weeks and keep putting up a rather large display that I could find the new episodes by paying $4.99 a month and streaming.

I am beyond disappointed in the Discovery network. To now tell me that the only way I can see the remainder of the series is to pay you.

It is always about the money and never about the customer isn't it?

Discovery Channel Unable to access discovery plus with promo code.

I signed up for the Discovery Plus Valentine special on 2/13/21. (Valentine Special is 6 months ad free for $29.00, which I paid for). I received a confirmation and an attachment page to with a promo code. On 2/14/21 I received an email that the subscription is now active. Based on the ways you can use the app I got a Amazon Firestick for my TV. I have been trying for 4 days, a t least to access Discovery Plus shows by following instructions on the page and every time I enter the promo code and click apply I get an error message that the promo code is invalid. On 2/15/21 I contacted the Help desk explaining the message about the invalid error code. I received an email asking for the order # and an email to send it to. The same day I replied to their email with the requested information.
I did not hear back from them 2/16/21, so later in the day on 2/17/21 I sent another email to the help desk.
On 2/17/21 I received an email from a different person at Help, she said she sent an email to reset my password.
However she did not send an email with a password reset and also why did I need that when the issue was the invalid code. I then replied to her on 2/18 and have not heard back.
I tried calling corporate office twice and kept getting disconnected.
I am so frustrated with this. Their is not a valid phone number to call for them.

Desired outcome: I just want to be able to connect to Discovery Plus as I have paid for 6 months ad free as a promotion.

Discovery Channel Taking regular programming and charging extra for it.

So let's see, programs people have watched and followed for years, are now being charged a premium price. We pay roughly $170 a month for cable/internet, $12 for Netflix and now you want me to pay more? These shows wouldn't be on today were it not for regular viewers, people who have followed these shows for a long time. How about this...? Put these shows back on their regular channels, you suck up your wanton greed, and stop sucking the lifeblood of out of regular people.

Desired outcome: stop charging premium prices for what used to be regular shows.

Discovery Channel Discover + streaming

Have you people really lost your ever-loving mind? Do you realize that most customers across the country pay extraordinary really ridiculous amounts to satellite or cable companies? It is ridiculous pricing on the part of those rat [censored] now here you come wanting to charge another $6.99 or $4.99. You need to figure this the hell out. Stop paying people in the backwoods of Kentucky a million dollars a day to film stupid mindless programs. The paranormal heist to discovery + is very upsetting because I've had so many deaths in my family that it's the only thing that brings me solace. Please understand that people across this country are not going to stand for this. It is highway robbery. Everyone in television is making a mint of money and now you want more. It is patently unfair and I have heard from thousands of people across the country how frustrated they are especially regarding the paranormal shows. Rethink this before you lose every customer you ever had.

Desired outcome: RETURN PARANORMAL SHOWS BACK TO TRAVEL CHANNEL AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE

Agree with everything you said. Not only is it unfair to charge people for content when we already pay for access to its channel programs, is this legal is my question.

Discovery Channel Discovery Plus

The programming I used to enjoy has suddenly been transferred to Discovery Plus, a paid streaming service. I do not want to pay for a channel I already have on my cable TV service just to watch it on a small phone screen instead of a big TV screen. It is not even available as an add on service for cable TV. This dismays me. I am not not a happy customer.

Desired outcome: Perhaps the Plus programming could be available on the cable channel after a first run on Plus. Or, add it to a cable package. Or just let us watch what we had been paying for.

Discovery Channel Adverts

I love Discovery Channel, but why in the name of God do I have to see adverts in the upper left corner of the beautiful River Monsters camera work? In this case, the Puppy Bowl 17. I can assure Discovery that this overt and crass means of advertising will never persuade me to watch shows for Puppy Bowl (or anything else that appears during my show).

Discovery Channel Discovery plus

I think it is wrong to take our favorite programs and put them on discovery plus, who wants to sit and watch these on your phone or tablet, and not our usual tv channels, you could leave them on regular channels, and if people want to pay for them on discovery plus they can pay extra, why are we paying for programs that are not on our tv any more, and just watching reruns, I think you are taking advantage of people.

Well said. This is outrageous. Cable costs a fortune and now Discovery wants us to pay more to see new episodes. I don't know what they are thinking - other than lining their pockets. They obviously aren't concerned about the people who USED TO enjoy watching their programs and no longer will be able to. I know many of us will be urging our cable provider to drop all Discovery shows because no one wants to pay for nothing but re-runs, which is all we will see on cable from now on.

Quit Stealing the programs I have watched for years. I will not pay another dime. You say it's such a great value. I'm sure you could care less about all of us out here struggling. You just say give us more so we can sit higher on our thrones. I don't think so! I truly never thought that Discovery would ever stoop so low as to going to the lengths you are going to to try and force people to pay more. we can do without you! can you do without us? I can get tv a whole lot cheaper doing away with all of yours. Thanks. Hope you wake up.

I absolutely agree, we are getting taken advantage of. Who wants to watch this on a phone or tablet, plus each household person would also have to subscribe to this separately. How could the people on these programs have agreed to move to discovery plus.

Discovery Channel Pimple popper commercial

Please stop showing that disgusting pimple popper commercial. I don't mind that the show is on but I don't appreciate having to run for the remote to mute every time that awful commercial is on. Please stop !

Discovery Channel New shows moving to Discovery plus

I think it sucks that discovery is making you pay for streaming services to watch new shows that used to be on regular discovery channels. Greedy Jerks. I am done and will be watching other networks such as nbc peacock that lets you watch for free!

You are showing ads for my pillow. This man personally asked the president to declare martial law, and overturn the election. This man is guilty of treason and sedition and you should be ashamed to air his ads.

Discovery Channel Discovery Plus

You have ruined my appreciation for travel channel and discovery by taking away all my favorite programs from my highly paid satellite and forcing me to stream which not only works in my area but you have the nerve to charge people during this covid pandemic. Cruel, Cruel, Cruel

I expected better things from Discovery and thought the streaming service was going to be for those who don't have expensive Cable or Satellite. People are going to loose interest in TV all together and ditch those services and your streaming pay service. Your awful and cruel to do this to people and fans loyal to their programs.

Desired outcome: Bring back first run popular episodes and let others stream as option.

Discovery Channel Alaska: the last frontier exposed; season 10 episode 21

I am surprised that shows like this that displays the heartless and barbaric cruelty of "white trash hillbillies" that have no compassion and no empathy towards animals could last for 10 horrible seasons! I am sure that your viewers of this show are nothing but nra hunters that does not and will never respect wildlife. In this episode, the description states that atz sr. Stalks a menacing bear on the homestead. This poor innocent young bear, less than a year old, was quietly eating berries far away from this"riffle happy low life human." the bear was not doing any harm! He was just surviving by eating berries far away! So this [censored] named atz sr. Gets on his beach vehicle to find any bear and stalk any bear to shoot for your cruel show. He shoots the bear and when he approaches it, the poor bear is partly dead with his eyes open! What kind of sick programming is this? Cruelty in this world and disrespect towards wildlife should not be entertainment for blood thirsty punks! What kind of viewers are important to you? Wouldn't you want a kinder world? The murder of this innocent young bear was dispicable, heartless, cruel, calous and unnecessary. The bear was no threat at all. The bear just went along trying to find berries to survive! What a sick and cruel station discovery has become! End and cancel this series now! If I have to get petitions and take it to the fcc all the way to washington dc, I will. The discovery channel was once very respectable years ago. What happened? Do you want a kinder world? What are you impressing upon the young minds and the criminal ones. If you keep shows like this on, you are contributing to the civil unrest of a world full of hatred and disrespect for nature. Shame on the discovery channel! Cancel alaska: the last frontier exposed now!

Discovery Channel Discovery+

I'm very upset that the tv shows I pay for on Travel Channel and Discovery channel are now on Discovery+ in mid season! For Example, Two episodes of Season 2 of Expedition Bigfoot are shown on Travel channel in January then the rest of Season 2 is moved to streaming Discovery+. Dirty rotten scoundrels! Resolve this issues because people are not going to stream Discovery+ because of the way they are scamming us as if the public viewers would be ok with this scam!

Desired outcome: Continue the Season episodes such as Expedition Bigfoot Season 2 on Travel Channel

Discovery Channel Discovery + streaming service

I started Discovery + on January 23. I am extremely disappointed with the content and the constant buffering of anything I watch. Many of the options are old shows being rerun. There is not much new content. Their advertising shows "new" programs that are not available on their regular programming.
Not so!

Shame on them for presenting this option in such a deceitful manner.
Discovery + needs to be clear about what subscribing to this service will provide consumers. I would encourage them to step up and give the consumer something worth the investment.

Discovery Channel Discovery plus stealing paid-for content

We currently pay for a large dish network package, which includes discovery channels. None of the channels that we are paying for are streaming new content - everything is being moved to discovery plus.
As a loyal customer, I am upset that I am not getting what I am paying good money for. Discovery, you are stealing from the very customers who made you! Set aside your greed and do what is right for the people. It's not all about your pocketbooks.

Discovery Channel Programming

Since the launch of Discovery Plus there seems to rarely be any new content on most Discovery Channel channels such as ID and repeats from years ago are shown. I pay up to $200 a month for my Directv bill and I am not paying for reruns constantly on the channels I watch the most nor should I have to pay an additional $5 for new programs! I am furious!

Desired outcome: New programs! Stop putting new shows all behind a pay wall!

I totally agree with you! Our TV was set on Investigation Discovery but not anymore! Every single ad that comes on is for Discovery Plus! All old programming. It’s no longer our “favorite” station. As a matter of fact, we’re had favorite shows on other networks for years and we’ve stopped watching those.

Discovery Channel Alaska shows

Gotta tell ya...i have been stationed and lived in alaska for the past 30+ yrs...lived and visited all over alaska...some of the shows you are now showing are pure fiction...the Kilchers and homesteading... Really? they have newer equipment to work with than i do...and i live in a city of 8000 come on...that is not a show about Alaskans...same with the folks on Life Below Zero...if you havent noticed...having brand new outboards to run up and down a river is not common place in alaska...or new snow machines...or equipment to plow with...get real...normal alaskans that live here 24/7 make due with what they have...Port Protection is more like it...al though i do see some new boats an motors showing up...but come on...if you cant show real alaskans...done show any at all...its all just a farce...and really kinda degrading to us that live here full time...without all the money you are pumping into there lives!

Yeah, and they all act like they have to "live off the land" while making tens of thousands of dollars each episode. Hence, the new boat motors, excavators, barges, etc.. I watch them for the scenery!

Discovery Channel Discovery channel’s Dr Pimple Popper and the foot Dr show

Can you PLEASE stop showing the gross dr pimple popper and foot dr commercials. We get it, you deal with gross things, but when the show I'm watching cuts to a commercial break, I don't want to see ANY OF THAT! I don't watch either of those shows and I'm sure I'm not the only one who does not watch and is disgusted by the images from those shows. If you must show such disturbing content, could you at least post a warning for those of us with weak stomachs?
