Dillard's Exchange policy

Bought a shirt as a Christmas present. When we took it out of the bag to wrap it, we found it had stains on the shirt. We brought the shirt back to Dillards, with receipt and tags still attached and they refused to exchange it because we bought it 30 days before. It had obviously never been worn and was brought back in original bag. We will no longer be frequenting any Dillards stores.

Dillard's Missing package

Oder# [protected] - 1 pair men size 13 Ugg slippers. Were shipped by USPS.
Tracking indicates delivered on 12/18/21 at 4:09 left w/individual. Must have been delivered to the wrong address. This package was never received at 4801 Chatham Grove Place. I need merchandise for Christmas!

Dillard's Complaint of supervisor

On 12/11/21 I was doing some last-minute shopping at Dillard's in Ridgeland Ms. The atmosphere was really good until one of the supervisors' curses one the sales specialist out. I was literally shocked. The sales guy informed his supervisor that one of the other salespersons had taken one of his customers out of his line. She responded to him Shut up and bring your [censored] over here. I was so disappointed when I heard her talking to the guy like this because if this is the kind of supervisors that is being allowed to treat staff this way it is really sad. I will never shop in this place ever again. She had no compassion at all, and it looked like the guy was working really hard and was being helpful to address issues from all of the customers in his area. Employees should always have the right to contact the supervisor when they have an issue but for her to treat him like this Infront of all of us that was there was very dissatisfying. I really hope this issue is resolved promptly.

Dillard's As a customer, I do not like to shop with dogs in the store.

When I shop I do not want to come in contact with dogs nor do I want dog hair on my clothes. Some of the animals are very large and I am allergic to dogs. Dillards is a nice store to shop in, but if dogs are running around everywhere, this store will become a pet store and eventually start smelling like animals.
Dogs are not people and I don't believe they should be treated as such.

Desired outcome: I would like to see Dillards as a place I can shop without worrying about animals everywhere.

Dillard's Wrong item

I bought what was sold to me as gucci sunglasses, they where not, I was given a certificate of authenticity a box everything
When ai went back yo return I was told It took me 13 days and this receipt was only 3 days, so they gave me a gift card, for a store that misleads clients on what they are selling
I attempted to return to one store was told I had to go to the original store so I drove for 45 minutes yo find out that no I am past the 3 days even thought they sold me something that is wrong

Desired outcome: Would like my money back since I have no interest on a gift card

Dillard's Online purchases non-returnable

Buyer beware! I went online looking for a pair of cream pants. I found four options, and purchased all of them, intending to try them on at home and return the ones that didn't work. I picked one pair, and attempted to return the other 3 at the store. They wouldn't allow me to return them, because apparently they were ALL a final sale, although none of them were cheap, and not even available to return for store credit. They sent me upstairs to customer service where a manager refused to even come out and talk to me. They told me to call the online sales division, which I did. After waiting for 25 minutes for a person to come on the phone, she told me the exact thing the store said, and gave me the corporate number. I called corporate and got the same answer.

I understand policies, and having to stick with them. My problem is with the policy itself, which to me, is a clear indicator of desperate money making tactics, consistent with a company that is not in good financial shape, and must abuse its customers to make and keep money. 1) the non-refundable status was clearly not obvious on the website, or I never would have shopped with returning in mind. 2) Having a final sale on items that were not hugely marked down is not standard in the retail industry, or something that one would reasonably watch out for. 3) It's covid. In-person retail selection is minimal. These items are not even available at my store. What are we supposed to do?

The only conclusion to this last question is... we are supposed to not shop at Dillards, or we have to be so on-guard when we buy things there that it's not even worth the trouble. It's too bad they choose to be this way, on principle, I will not shop there again.

Desired outcome: Allow me to return my items, or at least give store credit.

Dillard's Interview

Racially Profiled during a interview with Amber! I was more than qualified for the job. Wasnt in the back for even 2 minutes before she stated I wasnt a good fit fir the job ... Really upsetting news for a mother just trying to work. She talked to me over yhe phone and said I would be perfect but when she seen I was black it was a different thing . Dillards should get with the times this isn'tt 1904!

Dillard's Service rep in jewelry

On 07/17/2021 around 7:30p. m Brooke the Sales Rep was asked to open the watch case by myself she replied "Give me a minute". She continued to conversate with the other young lady on the other side which she was not purchasing anything. I waited for a few more minutes. Brooke continued her conversation with the young lady. I walked to the perfume counter and asked the other sales rep would she ring me out and she said sure. She met me over to the watch case and Brooke came over with the key and said"Here is the key if you want to help her." The Lady from the perfume section took me and the watch to her counter and checked out. the young lady at the perfume

Dillard's Louis vuitton bag

About three, four months purchased a $1500 bag, shortly after started peeling/ leather ripping on the side. Leather lifting/braking at the stitches. This morning I was referred to customer service. The only words used " sale final. Desk rep appears to ask person in charge & she yells across room "final" & walks out. Never in my life encounter this kind of customer service. On the way home asking myself for proper name for Customer service. My only conclusion was customer [censored]hole. Dillards had no customer service! They are rude, short and even management gas no consideration for customers.

Desired outcome: Not sure, just mad that no one took one minute to acknowledge me.

Dillard's Sales manager - salome

I have been a very loyal Dillard's customer since 1993 when my husband introduced me to you. We spend thousands, upon thousands, of dollars at your stores annually, always using your stores as a "go-to", even when we travel to different states, and most importantly, even when there are plenty of other stores we can shop at. We are very loyal people.

In all of these years of shopping at your Dillard's stores, I have never been mistreated by any of your employees. However, today, June 24, 2021 at 10:15 a.m. PST, I went to your store in The Woodlands, TX, because I needed a larger size for a garment that I had purchased just two-weeks prior. Unfortunately, the sales associate had a hard time processing the exchange, so she called a sales manager, Salome, to assist her. I had to ask what her name was because she was not wearing a name tag, which is very odd for Dillard's employees. Salome stomped over, as if we had interrupted her coffee, meticulously examined the garment and in a very offensive, accusatory, nearly yelling tone asked, "What did you do with this? Did you wash it? Did you use it?" and just continued to "drill" me in a very disrespectful tone! I informed her that someone just tried it on. She yelled, "No" as if she was present, and shoved the garment to her face. She kept sniffing at it and even tried to make the sales associate smell it, then she yelled, "I can't accept this. You can buy the replacement, but I'm not taking this back!" and walked away. It seemed as if she felt superior and even made her feel good to yell at a customer in front of a sales associate. I could tell the associate was embarrassed and could only apologize for the horrible experience.

To say the least, Salome needs customer service training. She, in fact, does not deserve employment at Dillard's. She does not follow or live its values. Not to mention, she does not have any respect for people, let alone customers who keep your business afloat. And for her to be a manager, I can only hope that this is not what she is teaching her employees. If she treats customers this way in front of your associates, your stores will all soon need to file bankruptcy, like the others, because your loyal customers, like myself, with many options available, will not put up with this kind of harassment. With the times that we live in now, no business can afford to mistreat their customers as most are barely hanging on to keep their businesses open. I am severely offended, appalled that Dillard's would hire or allow such behavior and even more so, disappointed that Dillard's would hire someone with such a horrible demeanor!

Desired outcome: Terminate Sales Manager, Salome's employment and process the exchange.

Dillard's A gift I ordered was delivered in a bashed up box and sandles we in a bashed box. This was a gift.

I just received a order from Dillards. The delivery box was bashed in and the sandles box was bashed in. Order #[protected].
I called to file a complaint, waited 40 minutes on the phone and she couldn't help me.
This was a gift. I am giving it tomorrow, so I can't return it to wait for another.
I paid full price and am furious!

Dillard's Rude shoe salesman

I shop at Dillards a lot and went in on May 20th 2021 and looked around at the shoes and found a pair that I liked and tried on the Display shoe - I did not have time to wait as the ladies shoe department was busy. I came back to purchase the shoes but did not see the shoe on display that I seen the previous week so, I ask a sales associate if she had the Mephisto brand and she told me only online and I then told her that I saw this sandal on display and she told me she would ask. I waited about 10 min and nothing. I then saw a Man and went over and ask him (he was wearing a suit) (I was wearing a mask) if he had the Brand Mephisto and he rudely said "NO" and that was it. Nothing like sorry ma'am we do not or they are only sold online. I hope something is said to this man or you could loose lots of customers. I will not patron this Dillards again... I will go elsewhere.

Desired outcome: Someone needs to have a conversation about his behavior with him.

Dillard's returns - order number [protected]

Your returns system is the worst ever!

The 1st rep I spoke to two weeks after the package shipped, said because of the PO it could take a month, but since the "Shipping Agent" had the package, to call back in two weeks.

The second call I found out that the return shipping label you provided takes the "slowest method possible" per your CS employee (Victoria the second cs rep I spoke to). This rep also told me that the package was in MD...So it took 30 days to get to MD...Hell, I can walk to AR in 30 days. This is criminal.

When I pressed her, she spoke to her supervisor, and they expedited the refund saying the package was lost in the mail. How can a package be lost when she knew where it was?

The slow shipping method is not noted on the return form nor the website. What is noted is "Your refund should processed within 7 to 10 days AFTER shipment". Had I known I would have shipped it via a different method to expidite my refund.

Additionally, your CS rep Celi this morning had the nerve to tell me that Dillards provides a "complementary shipping label"...When I jumped in and said "when I'm paying $9.95, it is NOT complementary! She recantedt, then mentioned the ease of the label. Again, I pointed out the slow nature of the label and that I would have paid for alternate shipping...her response was "Well you now know for the future" WHAT ? REALLY? My response was that I may never shop at Dillards again...

In contrast that week I shipped out two other boxes to your competitors. 1 store refunded my money 48 hours after their shipping label was scanned by the PO. The 2nd box delivered in 2 weeks (again PO) and my refund was done 48 hrs after that.

30 + days is not customer service. Had I not called I'd still be waiting for Dillards to recieve the package.

This is unacceptable. AND PLEASE don't even try to blame it on COVID.

Dillard's Customer service

I was in the Farmington, NM Store 01.02.21 @ The Animas Valley Mall, I was approached by a large man named Paul one of the managers, he asked me to pull my mask up over my nose very rudely I told him to shut up because he scared me, he then told me If I didn't like It could get out of his store! I then went to the back to ask for a manager a lady came out I told he was being very rude, he started to try and argue with me I then got the phone number for the main Dillard's... He tells me have a nice day all snarky like he then started falling my husband and myself around the store I had to pay for my purchase, I told him sir you better stop following me around the store he made me feel very intimidated... I am a Grandmother and I have never had anyone talk to me like that, Dillard's is one of my favorite stores to shop, but after today I don't feel safe in that store. Thank you!

Desired outcome: He needs training on how to deal and talk to customers!

I am glad this individual put up this concern. I too have run into store workers of some kind or another being rude over COVID-19 related issues. I had that come up in Durango, Colorado at the Walgreens in which a woman worker (she seemed likely a pharmacist) told me rudely to step back to the six foot mark (I was only a short space off). The arrogant talking-down-to voice caused me to walk out of the store. Some people are getting to huffy, controlling and petty over these issues, losing all civility and restraint.

I will add that Navajos can be very rude in this area to anyone who is white in general, but some of the games being played can be happening the behind the scenes in store security and policing SWAT teams which network to watch all the qualifying stores in the city. Get a rotten apple in any of these positions, and they can target you over reverse racism, gender, religion or anything else. A store manager out in the open is bad enough, but trying to deal with hateful behaviors about you as you wander through these stores which have nothing to do with whether you are actually stealing or not is also something to be concerned about. I am trying to get the word out to as many people as possible that the Farmington, New Mexico area has a severe reverse racism problem among many Navajos; although there are a few honorable ones, many are exerting covert and overt warfare on suspecting and unsuspecting whites. Until the Navajos get over their rage over white Americans and the United States, we must all be mindful and self-protective around them, whether in stores, medical centers, counseling, social work, education or more. The undercurrents can mean you are not treated respectfully and given full service just because you are white. This is no way to live out one's life, and the City of Farmington is not doing a good job of backing off these hateful behaviors.

This is self proclaimed entitlement. The blacks have it too. They feel if a white person committed a crime to their people(yes salvery is a horrible travesty)but 300 years has gone by. We are done with that. The government has given enough benefits, scholarships, free money and apologies to appease everyone. What you do with it is not our fault. They need to stop and realize they are only making things ugly for themselves.

Dillard's return of merchandise

I purchased 2 shirts from Dillards department store online and returned one because it did not fit. It is over a month and I now have no shirt and they still have not credited my account so now I am out the money and the merchandise. I have contacted the customer service 3 times and they always respond by you will be credited for the merchandise in 7-10 days . It has been longer then that time frame. I am not sure what else to do in order to get my money returned.

Desired outcome: I just want a refund for the shirt I returned.

Dillard's Galleria mall staff is disgraceful lazy and ride

I went shopping for my husband tonight and the service was not just terrible it was borderline harassing. I bought him 17 items and 3 clerks were standing around doing nothing and were angry to check me out and even moved registers and did not tell me even though many of my items were there. It was insanely rude. They said they were slow and were not closing for 2 hours.. Yet how dare I buy clothes from them and have a few items for them to put back. It was like a bad saturday night live sketch of people acting lazy and rude. Someone get over there and whip the mens department staff into shape. I get better service at mcdonalds on a rainy and that is sad.

Dillard's rude and hostile employee

Date of incident: 11-23-2019
Employee name: Abby Description: Tall, brown-skinned, short black hair.

I will first began by stating that I am a regular at the Dillards in Oak Court and I have made several purchases at this retail store and I have never experienced such rude and disrespectful behavior from an associate. On Wednesday, November 23th, I was doing my regular shopping at oak court, I was approached by a girl in the women's section and she asked how we (me and the person I was with) were doing, she was told by the person I was with, "good." I proceeded to look around, she then asks "do you need any help, " and told her "No." Shortly afterwards, she approached me belligerently stating " I said how were you doing" and stepping towards me in a rudely manner. I turned to her and stated that she was already greeted and I proceeded to ask her would it have been a problem if no one spoke to her ? The employee says to me, "Yes, it would be an issue if you do not say anything back to me because its my job and i work in customer service and she proceeded to say that it was also her job to make sure we aren't stealing and proceeded to point to a camera." I told the irate employee that I've made several purchases in the store and had no reason to steal. The employee began to laugh and continue to be rude, at this point I walked over to the lady that normally does my transactions and asked her if she was a manager because I needed to report a rude employee, the girl then walks over and tells me " you are wasting your time because she is not going to know what you are saying." At this point i am assuming that she was being prejudice by making that statement because, the lady was foreign . After she says this the employee and I pass words. She then walks towards me as if there were going to be an altercation and the person that was there with me had to intervene. She then starts to chant out "My last name is petty." The employee then calls the police and gives false information and tells him that i was causing a disturbance, despite the fact that she approached me and initiated a confrontation. As the police was arriving she is yelling out "get out the store, you need to leave, " causing a big scene. After explaining what was going on to the officer, i was able to speak to one of the managers. This employee does not need to be working here if she lacks such customer service skills, she was very rude, and i have never experienced such rude behavior, i reached out to the assistant manager on 11-27-19 and requested a call back and I have not heard anything back, i will be contacting the district manager.

Dillard's customer service

Friday November 15th I went into dillard to return a Michael Kors coat that I purchased. The coat was was a feather down and all of the feathers were coming out of the coat. First I took the coat to the register in the coat department and two young girls refusd to help me. I told them I needed to return the coat and showed my reciept. One girl said there was nothing they can do if the item doesnt have the pop sticker and that my reciept didnt mean anything without the sticker. I asked her when has that been a requirement because i have a dillards credit card and havent had an issue in the past and she told me to go to customer service and see if they will help me. I went to customer service they called the manager and he told me there was nothing he could do. i read the back of my reciept to him and he rudly told me that he cant return the coat because he doesnt have proof that i bought it from there and he doesnt know if its their product. I informed him the coat is still on the shelf I bought it two weeks ago. he said he cant return it to call michael kors. I declined because i didnt buy the coat from michael kors. he declined my return and also a store credit. offered to give him my dillards credit cards I used for the purchase but he said he cant pull up my purchase with my card. he was very dismissive. I asked for corporates number and he refused to provide me with any information. I left and the next day drove to another city to go to the dillards there and they returned the coat with no issue. I had to drive 30 mins out of town and that is unacceptable. I will be canceling my dillards card and putting up my review about dillards on ever social media site because this happens to ofter and I should never have to fight with a manager about getting a refund on a defective product. I paid $200 for that coat there is no reason it should matter if i have a pop sticker or the reciept

Dillard's estee lauder associate named debbie cheating on the customer

I made some purchases on Dillards Canton Belden Village through the phone in August. At that time, there was a gift with purchase on Estee Lauder. Before I made the purchase, the associate promised all the gifts for my purchases. However, when I received the packages. Most of the gifts were missed. They didnt put what they promised into the package. I contacted the associate, as well as the counter manager Debbie, they were so perfunctory and said I would receive the rest of the packages later. After continuously contacting with them for more than 2 months, I still didnt get my promised gifts. So I returned all the products without gifts by paying the shipping cost on my own. But they didnt return them and reshipped to me! It was so disappointing and their behavior was disgusting! They were cheating the customers. When they need sales revenues, they would promise you a lot of things, while when you buy the products, they will forget what they said before. I do not think they are good sales person. Even, I think they are not qualified being a SA or manager. No SA would cheat their customers! Strongly suggest everybody DO NOT go to Dillards (Canton, OH) store to buy any Estee Lauder products. You will never get what you pay for.

Dillard's online orders shipped to store

Based on my recent online order that was "ship to store", I suggest providing the following, so that this delivery option is actually convenient and hassle-free:
1. An email indicating that items may ship separately
2. Tracking numbers for merchandise coming from other Dillard's stores
3. An email indicating that a PARTIAL ORDER picked up, with information about the estimated time of arrival for the remaining item(s)
4. A system in place, at the receiving store, that will prevent online orders for "ship to store" from being put on the floor. (The item that I had PURCHASED was put on the clearance rack by a customer service associate.) I was the one who located it on the floor while two customer service, sales associates scrambled about, while providing me erroneous updates about the location of my item.)
5. Stores that are FULFILLING items should take care not to ship DAMAGED goods. (After all of that ridiculous confusion of the sales associate(s) losing my online purchase, and me finding my Bryn Walker Naida Tunic in the color Noni, ON THE FLOOR, FOR SALE, the tunic was SNAGGED/DAMAGED. The store that fulfilled sent damaged merchandise. Naturally, I requested, and received a refund.)

As things are, I am definitely planning to avoid online ordering from DILLARDS.COM.
