The United States State Department has a warning on their website against signing any contract in Mexico without getting proper legal advice. The reason is there are so many problems that Americans are having from getting duped into sales and there is nothing the State Department can do to help get the money back.

Amereicans con Americans in America. Americans who move to Mexico also con Americans. Just because they are Americans, don't trust them. Consider the sources of your information. Google any one or company with the words complaints, or problems and read objective research. Don't believe the pr new stories either.

Best advice, rent in an area for at least six months before buying. Try it on. Don't get sucked in by hype.
This woman and her business are not to be trusted.

She deals with Real Del Mar and Jose Corona, they are documented problems.

      Being the publisher of I totally agree with Laura that you need to perfom due diligence and that the modern day pirates in Baja seem to be many of the realtors forieng and local.

      Ask for references before deciding on an realtor and or notraios (lawyers in charge of the public redords) and get sevral bids on the closing costs as they can vary greatly for the seller's capital gains tax obligation and the need and costs of appraisals.

      Also use 3rd party ecrows and get proprty insurance from those companies like First American in order to protect yourself.

      Please feel free to surf our site, which is full of information concerning the purchasing of properties and the government agenies that need to be consulted for liens, environmental permits and surverys just to name a few subjects to focus on.
