Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] Refund not being paid.

I had received confirmation that my request to cancel my course with Damelin Correspondents college in May 2020. Since then I have contacted multiple departments including department heads and they all reply apologizing but nothing has been done.

I have no idea what else to do as I have tried Facebook messaging. Directors have not replied and all departments just blame each other for not getting back to me.

Desired outcome: My refund to be paid

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] Refusal to refund fees paid

I have applied for my daughter to do matric in 2019 January. I then Paid 10 000.00(Ten Thousand) in advanced for the fees. The application was later unsuccessful.
I completed the refund forms and submitted it at braamfomtein Centre and was told and emailed that my documents are in order . I ve been calling since June 2019 without getting any assistance.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] Unable to access training material after numerous requests

I have been struggling with getting Damelin Correspondence Collage to address my support issue. Registered my daughter for one of their courses in December 2020. The course material was supposed to be available on the 15th of January, as per their student portal but till today the 29th of January it still is not.

I have tried numerous times to mail and call them. Calling is an absolute waste of time as they just hang up and claim the line keeps dropping. Mailing them is no help too as they keep responding that the matter has been escalated. what is so difficult about availing study material, or at the very least provide feedback when there is a delay.

Contacted the lady who helped me with my registration Sibongile Thusi, she tried to help escalate this on my behalf but since it is still not resolved I guess she too is struggling.

Can Damelin please give me the service I pay for, or just refund my money so I can go where I will get better service.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] Deregistration nightmare

I enrolled with Damelin in 2019 and I never received any communication from them. To my surprise I now have a debt on my name due to Damelin but I have never received any school related material from them, never wrote an exam nor test or even submit an assignment . I tried to get the debt removed but I am not taken serious. This is messing up my credit. I am disappointed in the way this matter has been handled! This place lacks basic communication skills. I just need them to remove the debt which they have placed on my name as it is blocking me from going to another educational institution.

What I have come to realise is DCC is the biggest bunch of crooks. Its almost 2 years. I finally got them to agree to a cancellation, 9 months later my refund has still not been paid.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] Refund 432560

Requested refund of a credit on my account since 14/03/2017. So many emails, telephone call and still waiting. No feed is given what so ever. My student number is 432560. There is a credit of R3, 000 on the account that is due to my employer who provided me with a bursary. This money needs to be refunded otherwise will I be liable to pay that which is not fair as the money is on my account. Damelin Correspondence College.

With reference to below.

Sibusiso from Damelin contact Ruan with study information and the course that you chose was more that the amount available.

Ruan and Sibusiso then arranged for a debit order of R1000, 00 to be deducted on the 1st Nov 2020.

After their arrangement, Sibusiso said Ruan will receive login details, but that never materialised.

Then a women (Leticia Swartz from Intec) contacted Ruan and said they also have a Data Analyst course, and that falls into his budget and that he does not have to pay anything in.

After completing the documents and sending them all the info required and after numerous follow up email/telephonic conversations we still don't have any login details or anything.

This is now going on to 3 months and I think you can understand our frustration. Ruan really want to start with his studies, but no response.

I send an email to Leticia on Friday asking for the login details by COB or else we want a refund so that he can go to another institution.

Can you please follow up and get back to me as soon as possible and also provide me with the Principal's contact details.

I can also forward you the correspondence between myself and Leticia.

I just want my refund of R11 560 to be paid back to me as soon as possible so that we can go to another institution.

LETTER OF COMPLAINT

Dear Sir/ Madam,

My name is Ana Sofia de Victoria Pereira Vieira. I enrolled to study in Damelin in 2017 after failing to return to South Africa in time for my registration at Cape Peninsula University of Technology. I paid for the full course, but because I couldn't have my student visa on time I informed school, anulled my registration and asked for a refund - which they said it wouldnt be a problem and they would do it after 12 weeks. 12 weeks went by and I did not get my money back. I went there personally twice and I emailed the school more than 30 times (this since 2017). In 2020, it seemed that my emails finally went through as they put in contact with Zinhle - the refunds administrator - they said my refund was approved but it would take 12 weeks to be paid. Even though, I had go through it before, I was hopefull that such would be resolved since this was the furthest assistance Damelin gave me I thought they were taking my complaint seriously and I agreed to wait for these 90 days. What, would be 90 days after waiting for almost 4 years right?

The date said to be paid was 26th of November of 2020 according to her. I waited until the 28th because I thought that maybe because the banks would be different the payment was just delayed. Damelin did not tell me that they wouldn't be able to make the payment until I emailed them asking about it. Zinhle then said that due Covid19 I would have to wait. When I comprehensible asked for until or if they have a perspective for when would they be able to make the payment they stop responding to my emails and up to this day the money is not on my account. I understand that we are all living difficult times, but hence "all". Damelin, is a very large business I am one person. I do not have the same means of sustentability to just give almost 30 000 randes away, I am a single mother with a child that needs food and clothing, and I am too affected by Covid19. Due this lack of payment from Damelin, my name was already given to a collection agency since I am not in Angola and I had debit orders on my card that wouldn't go through because they simply did not comply with their word I am now with my credit ruined.

I am now using every tool in my power to hold Damelin against their actions, get my money back plus reparations for the amount of stress and collateral damage they are still making me go through including legal action.

I hope you can act as a mediator and serve justice. Please contact me if you need written proof of what is hereby written, as I have all my emails saved in archive and the dates with screenshots and records of every phone call I made them since 2017.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] Refusal to refund

I enrolled at Damelin correspondence college 2019 January and I was notified that the course a registered for was to commence in April. After 3 months of waiting for the course to start, I canceled my registration in July 2019 and applied for a refund (R6600) and handed in all the documents required. Til this day I have not received my refund dispite having contacted the head office ( zintle ndimande) countless times. Zintle ndimande keeps giving me dates in which I can expect my refund but all of those dates came and went. I am just very disappointed at the lack of help I have received.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] Results not received / incorrect results

Good Day,

I completed my last exam with Damelin november 2019. I received results which were incorrect and incomplete.

I contact them in March to query this, but I was told to call a month later because they are still marking assignments and exam papers.

I contacted them again in October, I was told to send an email. I did this but still never received any feedback or replies to my email.

The results I received does not have all the assignment results and exam results that I completed. It also differs to the results I received during the year.

I need this results in order for me to continue studying (else where), and to find better job opportunities. Damelin is literally holding my career back!

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] Refund

Registered with them in march 2020. I was told the course is SABPP accredited and I will get textbooks exam fees all included in fee. After paying I found out a few days later that the accreditation was expired. When I asked I was told that they were reapplying. I have proof hereof. My textbooks were not included when asked I was told there was miscommunication from the sales agent. No rubrics provided for assignments no memos to check where I went wrong. Poor quality of notes tutor got back to me after a while maybe a week or so stating he didnt have data to respond. When I cancelled on 17th oct I was told I got to wait for Mr pelser. My emails and calls were ignored after stating I'm going to social media I get a call. Yesterday I was offered R1600 refund from the approximately R11000 I paid. I said approximately because I am requesting a statement and havent recieved one as yet. Today was told final offer of R3000. I declined and advised I'm going legal as they breached contract and responsibility to me as a student. After requesting it in writing Mr. Roux advised I will get the letter in due course. The accounts manager Logan archery hasn't responded.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] Refund

Good day

I registered for a single module last year around September 2019 with Damelin.

At that time I applied for an extension with the FSB to complete my studies and didnt have much money to apply for may modules.

I was helped pretty well back then but after that it didnt go too well.

I was sent through the study material that can only be used at Damelin. At the end of October I asked Damelin for my roll out plan and exam dates but didnt get any response from them. When I try calling them there is always no answer ( Damelin School of Business Insurance)

After that I continued to work and when we heard about the lockdown I didnt bother to follow up.

I asked a few people about a refund but I am being told now that I will on get back 20% of what I paid after a year of no communication from Damelin. Its been 3 months now that I have been asking for feedback and asking for their complaints departments details with no response and the regional manager KZN has no people skills and doesnt even bother to hear the client out well and understand the situation we all in right now.

I mean I asked for the roll out plan and my information but nothing was given. Up till now I dont even know whats my student number.

Is it fair that I must lose out on time and even my money just because they sent the study material? I cant even use that study material anywhere else and they refuse to take responsibility for not following up with me regarding my studies and say it was my responsibility to get it sorted out.

Can someone please help me get my money back. Its not alot but its still something to me.

I have followed up with Alka, from DSBI as advised below

I can confirm your refund documentation has been handed over to our refunds department

Upon review of your application, DSBI has confirmed you were indeed registered with DSBI,

· Your registration was complete on the 01/10/2019

· Course /module registered for was due to start immediately

· Your cancellation was on the 16/09/2020

Please see t's and c's of the contract regarding cancellation:

(B) Full-time and Part-time Studies

7.3. Complete a cancellation form and return this together with the necessary supporting documents.

7.4. The student shall be exonerated from liability for the tuition fees (but excluding the registration fee and the cost of

notes/books, both of which remain payable and default administration charges which DSBI will be entitled to levy)

provided that DSBI is informed in writing no later than 4 (four) weeks (full time) and 2 (two) weeks (part time) prior

to the commencement of the academic year/programme in question.

7.5. The student must have received confirmation of receipt of such cancellation from DSBI. It is the sole responsibility

of the student to ensure that he/she has received such confirmation from DSBI.

7.6. Should the student/consumer wish to cancel such registration and such cancellation is after the 4 (four) week (fulltime),

2 (two) week (part-time) notice period required in terms of this contract then the student/consumer shall be liable

to pay the reasonable cancellation costs that DSBI has determined to be reasonable, which is agreed by the

student to be 80% (eighty percent) of the annual fees charged, and which the student/consumer hereby agrees to,

by his/her signature hereto.

With the above information being presented, your cancellation with DSBI was late, meaning an 80% late cancellation fee will be charged on your paid amount

Good day

I am complaining because even though I was registered...I was not giving a roll out plan to date...

I also was not given even a student number even after requesting for all of this and I have email proof of this and that is one of the reasons I am asking for a full refund!

What am I going to do with Damelin books and where can I use them?

So you telling me that even with the service I received from Damelin, that I must still loose out on 80% of the money I paid?

Please forward me the email for the complaints department as I don't want 20% of my money and forward me the legal departments contact information so I can take this further!

I don't see how it's fair that Damelin can not provide thier part after 1 year and still think it's okay to keep my money just because they provided study material that I can't use anywhere else apart from Damelin.

So it's okay to treat people this way and not care about integrity?

It's not alot of money but the principal still stands...where is the promised service then...show me that in your T's and C's please and let's see which stands?

Please point out the parts that you guys have to provide services to clients and please show me how you guys provided services and did your due diligence..

Because that is what I am going to fight about now.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] Past year papers

I am a registered student with Damelin. My fees are fully paid. I am going to write exams soon and have requested for past year papers (this is part of your services listed on your website), your call centre says that the past year papers for my subjects are not available and there is no guarentee that there are copies available at all. Ref CAS101852B1D5L2

I am really concerned that you have excellent debit collections departments but your services towards paying students are pathetic and extremely disappointing.

Please feel free to contact me if you find that my statement is incorrect in any way.

As a student, I am not asking for the moon and the stars but I am only requesting for the services that I am paying for.

At the end of 2019 I completed a course with Damelin Correspondence College.

I followed up in 2020 requesting to know my results and when I would be receiving my certificate.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] Results

Applied to study for a national certificate in supply chain to which the money was give through a bursary. I have submitted all assignments at the end of 2018 and beginning of 2019 and uptil this date I still have not received results or any answers from Damelin. I have called and emailed numerous amount of times and each time just get the response of they will follow up or get back to me. Feeling extremely pressure as I need to pay back the bursey if I do not have the results that they refuse to give me

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] Completed hrmp course and awaiting my results, which was submitted in 2017

Since july 2018, I have been requesting my results that I completed and submitted in december 2017. Each time I call, different consultants answer or ignore my call, I suggested since I am not getting any answer from them, why not refund me! So I can study at a different institution... With all the emails and calls I made, I have no alternative but to lodge a complaint with the ombudsman.

I am done wasting my time with damelin corresponce college, as they are failing to provide me with any clarification.
All my assignments have been submitted and was found competant in all nine modules.
On 5 november 2019 I was emailed a final integrated summative assessment (fisa) completed and emailed back to damelin on 4 december 2019, for assessment and moderation. According to the head of faculty : commerce

Feedback was to be given the next day. Yet again nothing. All correspondence, be it emails and calls I have recorded.

I will be contacting the ombudsman for resolution.

Refund Pending
For almost a year now we have been waiting for a refund. It has been excuse after excuse and lately your people are no longer responding to our emails and not answering our call. One would wonder if you ate our money. I wouldn't be surprised if you did. Give us our money back! I have no option to take this legal.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] No student support.

Good Morning

Student number 436034

I'm trying to complete my course but Damelin is terrible, I have not received the exam results that I wrote in 2019, also only one assignment results received.
Babiley Petersen tried to help asked me to send my assignments again. Then she stopped replying to my emails.

I'm struggling with the pastel program I received with the course material Patel V14.
No one comes back to me to help me to get a new pastel program or any help at all.

I did not pay my coarse not to complete it.

If Damelin can't supply me with the material and results I'm looking for by the 24th Of September 2020. I would like to be refunded for all my exam payments and my course expenses.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] Failure to be awarded the diploma certificate

Good day. I finished my exams with Damelin in november 2018. And passed all my modules as they sent me the results.
The whole year of 2019 I have been asking them when am I getting my certificate. But each time they made empty promises. The 2 year course costed me over 20 000. I'm a single mother who wanted to invest in myself so as to get a better job. Every time I visit the Braamfontien branch. I'm made to fill forms with my details. And each time they promise me to courier the certificate within 7 days. Up to now I haven't received any form of communication from them nor the certificate. My name is Tracy Mutamburo. I am a 44 year old domestic worker.

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] Exam results

Architectural draughting diploma

I wrote exams for ndi-01, npp-01 and bus-53 in 2018 and 2019 till today I have not received exam results for the subjects, nothing not even assignments that I submitted and it really frustrate me because I can not have my diploma because of the subject.
I have been sent from pillar to post, and no one is responding to the e-mails that I sending
Right now I regret why I registered with the institution

Damelin Correspondence College [DCC] Diploma bus/management

Paid in full. Submitted multiple assignments and not received results. Have contacted Damelin on multiple occasions to send updated transcript to no avail.
Damelin are not upholding their side to the agreement.
Reimburse my monies in full as Damelin have reneged on their promise.
If I hear no response by end August I will institute legal action
