Crunch Fitness gender discrimination

The location at 1038 Flatbush has an openly sexist young white male staffer at the front desk who's exposing the business to legal risk. He purposefully checks in men who come in after women who are already in line waiting to check in. Does this gym have a preference for their male customers? If not, he needs to be retrained or reassigned. This ignorance of the basics of anti-discrimination policies will not serve this business in the Flatbush area.

Crunch Fitness management/billing

I am a member of San Dimas CA Branch. I have been having billing trouble with them.
#1. I gave my debit card info. Started to bill all right. One day, they sent me a bill said they could not process.

#2. I gave my credit card info. I checked they had it. They said all good. I received the bill again.

#3. They told me to give them bank routing number. So I did. I made sure and sure. They found my bank, and they told me it's all set.

I kept receiving the notice. I talked to the billing department, and talked to the manager of San Dimas Branch. All seemed to be good.

I requested to freeze my account for a month for vacation. I emailed twice, and talked to the manager in person to triple check. The manager told me no worries, all set.

I received a bill again! I emailed back to the billing department twice from my vacation spot. I came back in town and called the billing department. They said they would talk to the San Dimas Branch to clarify.

I went in the San Dimas Office and talk to the manager. The manager who froze my account no longer work there, really? The manager emailed to the top manager to explain my situation and waive the fee for the month which was frozen.

Then, I receive the last notice which said they would go to the collection company!? I called the billing department again. Every time I called, they say they monitor the conversation, but they didn't have any info that I had to explain it again!

I went in the office again. The manager was not there. I was so tired of this situation, and asked cancelation. Then, they told me to pay July fee! The manager told me not to when this happened. So, I was waiting for the resolution. But once I expressed the cancelation, they cannot waive the fee.

Who is the cause of me to cancel the membership?

The billing department is totally separated from any situation. They don't receive any request that they keep billing. Then, where's the point of management of the account?

If this was the cause of me, I will be happy to pay the fee and leave. But I don't think I owe anything to them.

Crunch Fitness not a crunch fitness!!

Crunch fitness gyms are usually clean, super friendly, and are generally with the times as far as equipment and offerings go. This fort Myers location is personally no where near up to Crunch standard as far as i'm concerned.

Issues:

1. Group classes.

These classes are during the busiest hours of the gym time and even trying to go at 5am when the gym opens you still cannot escape them. The MAJOR problem with these classes is they section off a LARGE part of the gym that cannot be used during the class. This section contains also a LARGE amount of equipment which now can NOT be utilized for members at all.

2. Broken equipment and Updates

Broken equipment seems to be a very common problem here at this Fort Myers Crunch. Some machines or pieces of equipment will sit broken for over a MONTH before repair. Including bathroom amenities like for example, paper towels holders, soap dispensers, it's unhealthy and kind of ridiculous. This location need updates so bad it's not a joking matter. Equipment especially starting with some deadlift platforms which apparently every other crunch fitness has them but this location. Different equipment will show up from time to time but it's most likely used and from the Stone Age like a hand me down from another location.

3. Cleanliness

This gym I'm almost certain, is currently filling their spay bottles with a cleaner for the equipment after use with a chemical that the user SHOULD definitely be wearing some sort of gloves before handling. Along with a bug problem in the bathrooms I would say this gym is just not the cleanest I've been to or the healthiest, which is why we come to a gym in the first place.

After the many crunch locations I have visited across the US I'm just extremely disappointed on how poorly managed and forgotten about this location is. Certainly they can utilized that extra fee they charge members for some sort of improvements.

Crunch Fitness refund

On April 4, 2019, I signed up for personal training with Davis, the personal training manager at the Santa CLarita CRUNCH FITNESS for a package of 8 sessions which also included 2 additional sessions for free. The cost was $480.00. Unlike a standard business contract, there was NO paperwork just Davis indicating for me to sign on the electronic signage pad for my training package. NEVER ONCE did he mention there would be a monthly recurring charge of $480.00. Of course I signed because I was purchasing my 8 + 2 training sessions and I wanted to pay for them. WHY would I question that? Any legitimate and ethical business would advise you that you were actually signing a monthly recurring contract. Again NOT ONCE was ANYTHING mentioned about being charged monthly for additional training sessions.

On May 6, 2019 a company named ABC FINANCIAL took $480.00 out of my account and again on June 4, 2019 took another $480.00. A TOTAL of $960.00 was taken from my account that I NEVER AUTHORIZED.

While under the impression that I was ONLY paying for my 8 + 2 sessions, I did sign their electronic signage pad. Though, because of their misleading, dishonest and corrupt business practices, in reality I was UNKNOWINGLY signing a contact that was allowing them to charge me monthly for sessions that I never intended to have.

I went into CRUNCH FITNESS and spoke to Jabari Day, the club manager on
June 10, 2019 regarding the unauthorized charges He then completed a "Request For Refund" form and informed me that I would be refunded the $960.00 in 7-10 business days.

I did receive a check dated June 27, 2019 for $480.00. I immediately contacted Jabari Day inquiring about the remaining $480.00 still owed to me, and he said he would look into it. After two weeks of multiple phone calls and emails to Jabari Day, all of which were ignored, I started sending letters to the founders of CRUNCH FITNESS, Curtis and David Harman. I also spoke to Nic Soszynski, the Business Customer Service, Creative Coordinator. After all of this, I was informed they are not going to refund the additional $480.00. Their willingness to refund half of what is owed to me implies they recognize that they were guilty of poor business ethics.

I personally know of others that have been deceived by CRUNCH FITNESS in the same manner as I have been. After researching I've found online what seemed to be a never ending list of complaints of the deceitful and shady business practices of CRUNCH FITNESS stealing money from members.

Crunch Fitness personal training contract scam - request a refund

Hi,

my name is Youjin Kim. I have a membership at College Park, Toronto location.

I got a personal trainer since March 2019, and I was assured that I am only obliged to get a three-month contract, and after that I can cancel the sessions at any time. So, I payed for the sessions from March 2019 to May 2019.

I talked to the manager named Steven Zorbas in-person in April that I want to pause my payment from June. He said, he arranged for that right away. BUT, IN JUNE MY CREDIT CARD PAYMENT WENT THROUGH.

It is not a small amount of money. It's nearly a thousand dollar, and that month, my budget for vacation was ruined because of that. I tried to email him and call him for 2 months, but he hasn't given me a refund. The last email, which was 3 weeks ago he sent me was that he will talk to the headquarter. I am tired of waiting, and I want the refund for June immediately. I think two months are reasonable time that I gave you guys to fix the situation. Please take an action immediately.

Crunch Fitness water fountains

the water fountains upstairs have been broken for MONTHS. one of them doesn't provide enough power, the other is literally boiling hot.

yesterday, they finally put a sign up saying DO NOT DRINK. so now all the water fountains, 4 total, upstairs and downstairs, were inoperable.

the problem is how the staff handled this issue. for a member to have to PAY for water is ridiculous. i have emailed them a complaint and just received a bounce back. again, the point isn't about the money but how the management handled this situation.

1. water fountains have been f***ed up for MONTHS.
2. for whatever reason they put a sign up (not safe to drink or being fixed) they should have provided an alternative, water cooler or whatever
3. no water cooler - then dont charge for water when it is obviously a safety issue

Crunch Fitness manager - chris

I had called to ask if I can take my fifteen year old sister with me as a guest and was told okay no problem. I get to the gym and all of a sudden it's a problem and the manager comes out with an awful attitude. He was straight up rude and condescending to me. I am a member who pays every month, I do not deserve to be spoken to the way he spoke to me. I completely understand the policy now and respect that a guardian has to be present with anyone under 18, but he took it to another level. Chris is extremely miserable and rude, I will not tolerate it.

Crunch Fitness billing

My name is Adil. I have a member ship in upper James branch (member ship no [protected]). 2 weeks back I lost my credit card where my account is setup to deduct my monthly install. I went to the representative Name Sara and update my new Credit Card details to her on the due date 3rd of July. She updated my card info and confirmed that when the payment went through it might charge you late payment fee of $25 which will be reversible as today is the due date. (Imp: she did 'nt charge me the same time and said it will be deducted from your new Credit card by auto payment). Next day I saw my statement I have been charged with $ 25. I went o Sara and ask me to come by Monday as manger Sandra is not there as she need to take approval from her. On Wednesday July 10, 2019 I went to Sara again and the manger was next to her. I asked her about the charges and she said that you do your work out and come by the time I speak with the manager Sandra. After workout Sara confirmed that we did not reverse the charges as the amount is already went through. Also said (If you paid that amount on the same time that charges would not effect). I ask her I need to speak with the manager which was sitting in her office but she refuses to meet me and ignored me.

My questions:

1-Why she did not charge me at the same time on my due date on July 3, 2019 when I provide her my new Credit Card.. (which she mentioned on July 10, 2019)

2- Why she confirmed to reverse the late payment fee if she knew that will not reversed.

2-The manger Sandra just sitting behind her they said she left for the day. Why I was ignored and she refuses to meet is this the customer care and services standards?

My request is to reverse my late payment fee charges of $ 25 as this is not my fault my card was lost accidentally I did not do this intentionally.

I have 2 months left for my membership and I am going to cancel this by finished my relation with Fitness Crunch due to bad customer service and miscommitment. I am very disappointed with the manger Sandra as she is sitting next to the office and ignored me completely.

Crunch Fitness membership

I signed up for one of those promos they had going on but less than a day after I did, I received notice that I'm moving so I tried to cancel. Ive never been to the gym, never activated anything, never picked up barcode scanner and new welcome package, never got into touch with one except the managers at the store locations and they told me that it's absolutely nothing that can be done to break a contract, they have no loophole at all except to pay for something you're not attending monthly for 90 days then after you're up to date on your payments you can cancel in writing. I been trying to contact management since 5/12/19. They only information they have is my card number, no ACH information.! I've never heard of such membership agreement ever. Is this even legal? Please help.

Crunch Fitness unauthorized charge

joined on 06-04-19 for limited training, 10 program for 299.00, at the time i was thinking about one year of gym membership. ask andrew to give me a price on paper or email me and have all the charges listed . so i can decide if i want it. week later never received an e mail or paper work, andrew said he is still working on it. another week goes by, still no answer. it has been now about a few weeks may be a month and no answer .went down again to the gym and stop the training with tim, ask for andrew were is my estimate for year, i will send you a email. you been saying that but i haven received it. went home and open my mail today. and crunch charge my credit card 1, 050.00 for 35 more training program. i did not agree to this. i went to the gym ask for andrew and told him to take the charge off my credit card, andrew replied he can not it is in the computer, on top of that he showed me why i never received the estimate, email was spelled wrong in his computer and that is why i never received an estimate

Crunch Fitness employee harassment

I received this suspicious document at the crunch gym in lake Nona and on the right hand corner I noticed kassidey sent it. This guy has been harassing me ever since I started my membership and it needs to stop! He's always coming up to me during my workouts invading my privacy it's disgusting. Him sending this document has gone too far. My friends have recorded him harassing me, following me and constantly bothering me. There has been numerous times were he neglected my help and chose to help other gym members and I'd had to wait there for over 10min while he answers other gym members questions and not mine when I was there first. This has to stop! He even forged my signature!

Crunch Fitness membership

During their promo in April my son asked to sign up at the lake Nona location. He said you could do it online, which I checked and you could, however I am no an online consumer! Anyway I gave a call to the location and spoke with Matt the manager ( if you can call him that) he was very pleasant on the phone and answered all of my questions. Which I asked repeatedly! My main question was about cancelling as I've been caught out before repeatedly he told me that I could cancel at anytime with no fees due.

I signed up my whole family online. Since I was happy with the conversation I had with Matt.

My husband went about 10 days later did not like it and told them his reasons why, rude staff, too noisy and tbh too far to drive with the crazy traffic. Matt cancelled his account there and then. No payments were processed after that.

I went in a couple of weeks later to cancel everyone else's as it was not working out for us. My kids need transport to go, since their dad was no longer going it was not working due to my schedule etc. i spoke with a young man who said I had not had the membership for the minimum amount of time and therefore could not cancel. I told him I was not aware of what he was talking about and told jimmy conversation with Matt. He said Matt was out to lunch did I want to wait, I did not so he called Matt on the phone. He proceeded to tell him about me and my conversation with him and Matt agreed to cancel them. All this was done whilst at the desk with the same young man trying to check in, answer questions, give back licenses to those who were guests and more. It took a while to get it all done but it was.

Come the following month I see 3 charges for the membership and 3 charges for the annual fee, this was for me, my son and daughter. I called only to be told by Matt that he would never have said I could cancel at any time nor would he have told the staff member who called that I could cancel. He said he was not able to cancel as I had a legal binding document with the state of Florida! Wrong, there is a legal binding document with crunch which the state recognizes as such I the event I don't hold up my contract side. I understand this but I took him for his word and didn't read the whole document, which I know I should have but I'm all honesty how many of us read all the small print we see daily.

Anyway point is I went by his word which he gave and then changed to suit himself. Crunch staff seem to do whatever it takes to get the business even if it means lying to you to do so. I wonder if this is part of their training and condoned by crunch. Very sad indeed.

I work hard have a son who's meds cost $250 per month for life and I can't afford to throw money down the drain but it seems I have to which I am hoping you will be able to help with.

I realize contracts have been signed but they can also be broken at your discretion as it is only crunch that is benefitting from them.

I hope you see the er in your ways and make this right.

Crunch Fitness billing

I was visiting LA earlier this year and decided to join crunch gym for the one week so paid for a one week pass for $110.

Over a month ago (4 months after I visited the gym) I noticed I had been charged another one off fee of $350.

I contacted the manager Jonathan Ethridge who was useless and put me in touch with Casey Callangan who was equally as useless, who apologised and said there was a fault in their system, but still over a month later havn't repaid me, And stopped responding.

This is flat out fraud and I have since proceeded with legal proceedings.

Avoid this gym at all costs! Iv never ever experienced anything quite like this.

Crunch Fitness refund

I went to Bankstown crunch gym and all i wanted to do is downgrade my membership however they ended up resigning me instead. They charged me $138.50 and I have been asking for my refund but the manager keep apologising and tells me samething over and over again. The money taken out of account on the 24th May 2019. Please look into this and I am also going to call fair trading tomorrow. Also please view the attached screenshots which shows how many emails I have sent to Bankstown crunch before submitting this complaint.

Crunch Fitness orillia location

I called in February of 2019 to cancel my membership with crunch and I was told it was cancelled now upon checking my account I see it was not and when contacting the gym they will not do anything about it I've been charged$ 24.80 every month and a $81 charge for a term renewal or something when it should have already been cancelled ! What do I have to do to get my money back get a lawyer ?

Crunch Fitness bad customer service

Tom at east norriton gave me as you said the cold shoulder. I told Ken I wanted to cancel my service. Ken pointed to Tom. He totally was negative to me. Talk to Tom was like dad and daughter being controlled. I start talking he would cut me off. He seemed a negative spirit from the beginning. It ended with me leaving and returning to pay my fees owed. As I walked in the gym Tom said Ken you handled her. It was not surprising to me. Maybe I was not the kind of people he likes to talk too. Before I asked for help Tom was rushing me to ask my questions, smh. Ken was kind. He ask why I wanted to end the membership. It is because of Tom.

Crunch Fitness gm and staff unprofessionalism

I followed up with the JD, GM of Crunch Sunset, and scheduled an appointment at 11 AM. I arrived at 11 AM and was ignored by the front desk staff for about 5 minutes while I was standing waiting for one of the two guys working to ask me if I needed help. They were too busy having a conversation until I interrupted them to let then know I was there for an 11 AM appointment.

I was then passed to two other staff members because no one seemed to want to help me. I then took a seat as I was told that JD was with a client. At 11.25 AM, I text JD to let me know I was waiting as I wasn't sure anyone even told him I was there.

At 11.30 AM after seeing JD walk around the front desk talking still not acknowledging me, I left.

This is the same level of customer service I experienced as a member 4 years ago. And oddly enough is in direct contrast to the Crunch mission statement plastered on the wall next to where I was seated for 30 minutes.

Crunch Fitness the information I was given when signing up was a falsehood

My name is Warren Plowden.
On May 31, 2019 I join a Crunch Fitness Club in the Chamblee Area of Atlanta Georgia. I called ahead of time and spoke to a Darius who I later met officially once I came to your club.
Darius was quite professional in showing me around this location. After I decided to join Darius informed me about the 5 cent sign up special that ended at the end of the gyms operation hours that day May 31, 2019.
I ask Darius on several occasions during this sign up/transaction if there were any hidden fees. His reply "No."
Once signed up I ask Darius when will my account see the $24.00 withdrawal for my membership? His reply "The end of June and at the end of each month with a one time $39.00 maintenance fee that will hit in August 2019.

I ask these questions at least 4 to 5 times. His reply the same. "No hidden fees and your account will be charged at the end of each month.

So my question is why was my account changed June 5, 2019? When I called and inquired about this the manager I believe her name is Lorry, Laura or Loren said to me "Darius is new and he was wrong." I ask how long has he been there she said "about a month." Really? Sir I ask you is that my fault he doesn't know his job?

Then I ask her for the amount to be refunded. Her reply "we cannot do that."

I told her over and over again what I was told by Darius.
Her reply "I hear you and understand but I can give you a t-shirt or one on one training."

She could not give me any information for contacting someone over her so I had to google Crunch corporate information and I got a young lady in Athens Ga who gave me your email.

My goal here is for your team to honor what was stated by Darius, have some accountability, refund my money and charge my account at the end of each month like I was told.

I don't understand why or how this is so hard to do.
I'm truly looking forward to your reply.

Crunch Fitness money taken from two accounts

Myself and my sister were signed up to a monthly contact instead of the month pass we assumed we had brought in December. Crunch sunset is one of my favourite gyms to train however, a contact wasn't signed for the monthly they continued to take & even tho they have agreed to To refund myself and I've given my details ( which are the same as the card they took money from ) I'm still no closer to a result. It's a shame as I really really love this gym and yet I've emailed Teresa and management numerous times and still no refund - I'm so disappointed- it's spoilt my experience of them.

Crunch Fitness management/ cleanliness

Manager of crunch in Langhorne is pushy and rude. The ladies bathroom sink needs to be cleaned it smells like eggs. The soap dispensers keep falling off the walls. The paper towels and squirt bottles around the gym never work. The machines are filthy. The one female trainer has her friend there all the time. They take up equipment for a very long time, while stopping to play on their phones and talk.
