Convergys unethical, unprofessional, unfair with the junior or newly recruited employees by the trainer, supervisor and hr

Can a HR terminate the employees for not acknowledging something which they don't agree with? I recently joined Convergys, Gurgaon and I was on PST training period.

My trainer Mr. Ronald Raj Dutt, shouted at me and insulted me in front of our entire batch just because I asked him for a help to set my monitor since it was not working. Before that, in the morning also, I asked him for help regarding my cab since I was not getting cab for 2 days. Then also, he disconnected my call and shouted at me for that when I entered inside the training room.

I did not say anything, just asked him to talk normally. Can't he talk to us like a human? He talks to us as if we are some dogs, not a human. He doesn't have any professionalism. Everytime, instead of teaching us, he would just threaten us that how powerful he is and how he has that ability to terminate anyone whenever he wants.

Later, his boss (the training manager) called me and again, she was shouting at me on top of her voice. She was more annoying than her subordinate Mr. Ronald. She literally was abusing me. For what, I was still wondering. She did not even let me speak a single word and I was like, a small puppy, in front of them.

After that, I have been asked to acknowledge a CAP which stated something I didn't do. I completely denied to acknowledge the CAP because I did none of them mentioned in the CAP. I just asked for help regarding my system and cab.

I then cleared everything regarding that with the Senior HR and she agreed to write what exactly had happened. Everything had happened in front of the entire training batch so neither I could lie nor could he. I told her everything and they investigated on that issue as well.

But then again, a man who claims himself to be my HR (but he is actually an HR), didn't buy it. After 2 days, he called me to his office (twice), let me sat beside him and asked me to acknowledge whatever he has written on the CAP and when I refused it, he shouted and yelled at me the same (why can't these people talk normally?). Whatever written there on CAP was all a fake allegation and so, I couldn't acknowledge something which I haven't done, right? Finally, he asked me to leave the office and sent me a termination email on the basis of insubordinate that very night.

Is not acknowledging the something which is not correct and which I am not agree with or haven't done, an insubordinate?

Does he have that authority just because he is an HR, to fire anyone just like that?

Whom should I approach for help?

I am new here in this company so I really don't have any idea whom should I approach for help and I don't even have that senior HR's contact no. or mail id. Her name is Anamika.

Can they terminate anyone without adding any senior or other officials while terminating a employee through email? In that termination email, he didn't cced anyone. It was only me. Sent from his id and sent to me only, no one in the cc list. Is this termination legally right or void?

Convergys employment

The hickory nc converges, has got to have the highest turnover of any of them due to incompetent . Tm like jamie carr... She wouldn't take escalations she would refuse and go smoke ! So i tried to handle all calls my self in fact she wrote me up for something she should have done and making a gay comment.. The next monday i was fired >law suit filed and reported dear hickory residence dont waste your time at this company>. All there looking for is number and threatening the employees to get hose numbers

Convergys termination

I was only 4 weeks out of training and till learning the ropes and got let go cause i didnt know some of the stuff yet. The tl said she would help me but never did and when i did ask for help i was ignored. People that hardly showed up for work never got in trouble and we were told that u get 3 verbal, 1 written then fired i was there everyday and also ppl that swore at customers are even still there. I need someone from the company to get ahold of me or Ill pursue this issue further

Convergys credit card did not received yet

I have requested for a credit card of ICICI Bank from my company side and I did not get my credit card yet, I have received a massage that your card has been return however my company address is correct. { sec-48 sohna road Gurgaon bestech tower}. This Is the courier ID {[protected]}. I would request you to please check my credit card and send my company address.

Convergys fraud

there is an agent that I spoke with her name is Shakeyla. She is very rude and has an attitude. I believe she is stealing from the company. I work with her and she is always stealing time. She is also using others information and Im not quite sure what she is doing with it but it cant be good. Be careful because she is sneaky and connivving. I hope she gets what she deserves.

Convergys avoid this company like the plague

When I say run I mean run. This is by far the worst job I have been at. For 1 how they get you is they state that you will be customer service with a 2% sales goal, but when you finally hit the production floor its a whole another story. When your going through the training which is like 6 weeks, the trainers are all like extra nice and seem like they care so much about you, having you do focus groups and etc. They also don't tell you that you will be on a flex schedule so forget about trying to make plans. They also seem to like to change your schedule and coach and not even tell you. I did not see the point of training you to use the tools considering that 2% sales turns into 98% sales. To all At&T customers, customer service will not exist on the call, but into annoying call with the rep trying to sell uverse at least twice ( don't blame the rep). What makes it worst is that in the chat rooms (which is pointless) is that u have to post green dots indicating that uverse is available, in some cases the coach would pull you to the side and screen that call to see if you transition to a sale (everyday). To the customers that ask for a supervisor while on the call, don't blame the rep if one does not get on the call right away, the only way to ask for a supervisor is through a chat room and the coaches themselves tend to always ignore the rep when they ask for one. So if your waiting for one that's why. PTO was a joke, you can clearly see you have hours available and they tell you how to do it yourself but when you go to put it in it gives you a date of when you can, once you wait for that date and re-apply for it, then gives you another date. Which in turns means you have to ask a supervisor, but if you haven't sold anything then you get completely ignored and I mean ignored f(ie multiple supervisors). You can schedule uto no problem though. All in all this company baits you but once your in you will hate it, stay away from it at all cost its not worth it, and judging from the other complaints on here trust me when I say what I type is the dead honest truth. Good luck..

I am currently there myself. Nothing has changed. The Floor support they chose acts like they are in High school spreading rumors and acting childish, If you go through the chain of command with any kind of complaint you are then treated Hostile and they make your days miserable. Ive only been there 2 months and already want to throw up every time I pull into the parking lot. NOT worth the pay! Also they tell you that you are earning Sales " incentives" and how to add them up then don't pay you what they promised.

Convergys last pay

CONVERGYS (Jose Ma. del Mar Avenue Asiatown IT Park, Lahug, Cebu City 11th & 12th Flr i2 Bldg Philippines) Human resource dept. namely EUNICE I was one of their previous employees back in 2010. Was connected with your company for just 3 months. I recently filed my clearance last 24Oct2013. There was a note on the clearance that it will take 30 days to get the documents and the final pay if any. I know for a fact that I will not have any final pay from the company since I went on AWOL, this is a fact I accept. What I can not accept is the fact that they are giving us point of contact to check if we can get the documents but we are always routed to voice mail. I'm always given a turn around since I'm actually asking when I can finally get the documents. It's been more than 1 month now. The people in the reception area was very rude. You have been asking your agents to deliver exceptional customer service but ironically you CAN NEVER do that to your employees. Is this due to the fat that we are not connected with the company anymore and people are treating us this way. I will be filing a legal complaints to one of our government agencies here in the Philippines.Your company have given me a very bad experience since I was an agent up until this time. I know that I am not expecting any replies from you. But hopefully you will train all your human resource people on GOOD customer service because they have none at all. I am still filling a complaint though our DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT.

Convergys wrongful termination

I never thought that I would be reaching out to others on the Web, like myself to try and make sense of WHAT type of company policies that The Convergys Corp. has and exactly " why" would they treat their employees so horribly. I too am a victim of their unfair practices on how they fire their efficient employees and keep on the pay roll " the slacker's". I have been employed with this company for over 3yrs and I have given them a 100%. I was terminated and was told the reason for me being fired was due to the fact that I misquoted a price of a premium that I offered to a customer; which by the way IS NOT AT ALL TRUE . Mind you I have NEVER received ANY write up's, verbal counseling or any prior documentation that would suggest that I have not been performing at the level that is required that we maintain monthly to make goal. I stayed within the Top 10 % of All employees and even maintained a set schedule Mon.-Fri. off every weekend. As you know if you have ever been employed with this company this is NO easy task. I keep this set schedule with out being put back on the flex schedule . So, I too am now waiting to see if I will receive the unemployment that I deserve to receive . Convergys stated that I was released for lack of productivity and lack of performance, totally different from what I was told I was released for by my supervisor ! Hopefully a class action lawsuit will come out of ALL of the wrongful dismissals they have caused workers over the years . They can be stopped if we ALL stick together and make our presence known.

Convergys here in valdosta georgia does this to so many people and seems like nobody wants to take action and they get away with it due to georgia is a at will state and convergys know they can do anything and get away with it.
Due to they cannot get enough people to work for this horrible company they are really abusing mandatory over Time on the directv project that is here in valdosta ga.

Convergys termination

Wow! to see that I’m not alone with the frustrations and pain this corporation has caused. I was with the company for 6 years taking verbal abuse daily. I helped train and mentor agents continuously for no extra pay. I did it for the love of helping others and I’m such a people person. Even after all the awards for accomplishments and perfect attendance for the whole time I’ve been there, I still was let go for “work performance”. It has been made next to impossible to be able to meet the stats that are required. And as a coach you are expected to be next to perfect even though there is only so much we can do for customers besides documenting cases. I have been accused of call dropping which did not happen however I have never had any write ups or warnings for anything either. Other agents get several write ups and are still there. I have reported several issues to the ethics line, but beware… when they say it’s anonymous, think about it. It gets looked into and then they of course know who it is. I have had so many agents come to me for advice and tell them to please use that line. The higher ups will do anything and everything to get out people they don’t want there. I have nothing to back me up either since I was not given anything and never signed anything. They over hired for the holidays and when the contract was in trouble decide to get people out. There were 11-12 other agents all let go in the same few days. How sad that “needs of the business” is more important than what the person you’re letting go needs. I now have no income and am a middle age woman trying to not lose my home now. I have been going over bills looking at what can be cancelled now and not being very successful at finding another job since now days 50′s are too old to be hired without a degree of some sort. The stress factor is so not healthy. Everything I have been reading in these complaints are so true, including descrimination, favortism, harrassment, humiliation, really slow systems which cause higher talk times and no seats and points given out constantly.I have watched unending amounts of agents being taken out in ambulances from that place, that says alot right there. And to top it all off, when told nothing would leave the HR office when being terminated, it took 1 day for all the phone calls and texts I started receiving about what the TL’s and OM’s and even the Site Director were stating about me…so much for descretion and ethics. Sounds like slander to me, which is very prevelent in that building. Unemployment is still in limbo after almost 5 weeks.

Was coming to work on time came in about 3/4 times late but never personally received a warning and never signed a disciplinary action form either but let only one person in my training signed one...

I worked for Convergys for almost 2yrs. Was terminated for call avoidance ! I had perfect attendance, did my job great everyday, and still let go. I know they wanted me out because I'm an older worker but hard to prove age discrimation. EEOC in NC couldn't even help me. Wondering if anyone else had something similar happen to them.

This site has really sunk to the lowest. Employees are always being let go and there has been so much change and turmoil. Management really does not care. Turn over is so high at this site, go figure. All the complaints about this corporation are so valid.

I agree with you 100 %. They fired me when I handed them a note from my Dr saying I had to be off work until the next visit in November. I had FMLA and short term disability. I thought I would be safe but they don't care about you or your health. Yes I was working for the USPS site and they took their contract out on September 30th which they told me was my last day and my TL was the one to tell me and took my badge right then. I still had 2 weeks and they still took it. I thought a supervisor was to do that but what do I know. I signed up for PayPal and was going to for DTV also but they didn't give me a choice.
So if you are still with them or starting new BEWARE and watch who you talk to about anything, they have their favorites... If you have any health problem watch out they say one thing and do another...If your not on any kind of medicine for stress I promise you that by the end of 6 months you will be...

Convergys employee treatment and legal issues

Starting pay, $8.50 plus commission. What a joke! The newer OM: Andrea is on a power trip and fires, demotes, or retaliates against anyone who has an opinion that doesn't coincide with hers. 4 plus AMAZING Team Leaders have been released In the last six months. Beware!. If you miss work, commission is taken away. If a customer calls in, takes a survey and rates ATT low? - 25%. Your call is scored low by someone, who barely speaks English, that works for an outsourced company? -25% more. Do not get into an accident or have a loved one get ill, on a weekend, that s -25-50%. If customers cancel within 6 months you have to pay money BACK! I worked there for over 3 years and was #1 for 2+ years. My doctor recommended me to go back on reduced shifts after a serious car accident. I was told I would be transferred to another department (making less money). When I complained and voiced my knowledge that it was illegal, I was moved to another team, written up four times in one day for nonsense. In my entire time of employment (over three years) I had NO written violations prior. In 2009 we had over 200 employees. When I left, there were 64. Tenured agents are going to work for the competition. ATT IS THREATENING TO PULL THEIR CONTRACT. You are wasting your time on a dead end job that will make you miserable in the end.

You think Convergys Call Center Employees are treated bad? You should see how they treat work at home disabled employees. I just filed a complaint with the EEOC on them. Their schedule adherence is so ridiculous they give you points when you have to evacuate your home because a tornado is headed at you!

Convergys taking money out of pay for ins and then not providing insurance beneftis

Convergys in Murray where my son was a CCS for the Bank Of America project has the same unethical business practices. They terminated his employment without any notice what so ever along with another 60 some people. He showed up for work and his badge was terminated. He tried to call them numerous time to see what was going on and the phones just disconnect. Then today he calls on the medical insurance to see if it is good through the end of the month since he was let go in June. The insurance company tells him his insurance was terminated at the end of March, 2011 yet they continued to take out insurance premiums the entire time he was employed. This company has little disregard for anyone and the company is fraudulently taking money from people. I am glad he is no longer employed there. He knew from the beginning that it was a crappy place to work because of the write ups, discrimination and the other unethical practices. I suppose that is why they loose many of their contracts. I am sure Direct TV and Bank Of America and other contracts would not want to be associated with these business practices if they knew how they treated people. If you read think twice before you hire on the aggravation you will experience will not be worth it.

Convergys wrongful termination/discrimination

I moved to Utah in Oct of 2010 from California. My father is terminally ill & needs a caregiver sometimes.
I found this job after about a week of living here because my next door neighbor had told me about them & said they pay well (which they do) and they have benefits even for part-timers.
I was hired and thought the job was a blessing! After all I was going to be working on the DirecTV project and had been a customer of THEIRS for YEARS & have no complaints about THEM. I was excited & did well @ my job. I was in the ACE dept. but had been hired to be in the PST dept, which they switched the last day of training (that had just been 5wks long) to ACE. They do different things & I wasn't fully trained in this dept mostly due to the fact that my TL (Shaun Naylor) was in the SAME TRAINING CLASS as myself & the rest of the team I was assigned to. He knew LESS about it then his charges do & often ASKED US FOR HELP, when he's the "boss". Needless to say, as a team leader he should have been BETTER informed then the ppl that he's supposed to be in charge of! CRYSTAL MOFFIT, is his operations manager, the one he reports too, and this women refused to help either.
About 3wks ago I was sick and had to leave work due to throwing up all over the place & not being able to perform my job duties asked what I needed to do in order to go home & not be written up for leaving early or fired. At which point I was told to go to the ER & if I get a note with the dates I'd be out they'd group all the absent points into 1. I did as I was told and not only was it not corrected, but every time I asked Shaun about it, he said he'd talk to Crystal & make sure it was done. 2wks later, I was given a "verbal" warning, that oddly enough, he had me sign! STILL being told that the points would be taken care of but this was just letting me know I had 9.75 points already and when you get to 12 it's termination. Well I should have only had 4points after that was corrected but still I had 8.5! It wasn't corrected still when I check the day b4 I got fired.
On the 27th of Jan, 2011- I had a call from a cust being VERY rude & yelling, so I told her that if she keeps throwing this kind of fit I couldn't help her because all she's doing is telling me her opinion & not the problem so I can't correct it. She said she didn't like my "tone" and wanted a manager, so I looked for one, they were all busy. I told her that & if she wanted to hold, it'd be about 15min because every one was LITERALLY in meetings. She then accused me of LYING to her & trying to threaten her with hold. At which point, I got irritated and was short with her but still didn't say anything out of line. When I came back on the line to tell her someone was available she hung up as I connected but I was still concerned about the call because I knew towards the end I HAD in fact gotten short with her & I shouldn't have so I told SHAUN & asked if I needed to write it out, so he'd have a written copy of my side in case she called back, you know, trying to bring it to his attention before it was brought to mine & something like THIS happened. His only response was, "why would I need to know about that call? I didn't talk to her so I don't care what happened as long as I don't have to take the complaint don't worry about it." I told him I didn't handle it as well as I could have & would he listen to the call so that if I was out of line I knew what I said out of line, so it wouldn't happen again. He didn't even acknowledge that I seen it as a prob and dismissed me.
After trying to talk to another TL on the floor about it & being told I need to take it up with Shaun. I let it go because no one wanted to hear me out.
On FEB 1st - I was pulled off the floor by Shaun, being told it was my 1:1 coaching that I KNEW wasn't supposed to be till fri and it was only monday. When we didn't head back to his desk, I asked if I was in trouble, he said maybe, I said I'm not getting fired am I? He ignored me & this was supposed to be my advocate! While Crystal, with her rolling eyes and dismissing tone, ran down what I was being terminated for, he just SAT there! When I turned to ask him why he didn't handle this when I CAME TO HIM ABOUT THE SAME CALL they had me sitting there for, he just STARED at me with a blank look!
I'd never been given a warning, other then for the points that I was assured would be corrected, about anything. In fact during all our coachings, I was always asking how to improve MORE & all he ever did was tell me what I was doing RIGHT!
This company says they don't discriminate but they do! I had more issues then just this but none of it matters if no one will ever do anything about it to the ppl that are doing it.
I wrote DirecTV about this & got a call back from the HR Dept of Convergys HQ. I informed him & he's launching a full investigation on the ppl I named that I felt were discriminating against me. Specifically, Crystal since she's been giving me probs since I started. Once she was informed that I was gay, she refused to help me or even acknowledge my being there! She shouldn't have a job she can't be professional about no matter what her personal views are on my sexuality, it doesn't belong THERE, in the work place, AT ALL! She didn't like my tattoos showing, tho none of them are obscene or vulgar & I was told I wouldn't have to cover them when I asked upon being hired.
This SITE, has a few good ppl in it, other then that, they are all incompetent, ignorant, idiots! I've talked to other employees that quit cuz they wouldn't work around their school schedule like they said @ hiring, so they had no choice but to leave if they wanted to finish school! They have a HUGE turn over rate & now I understand why! They have a LOT to offer, if only they were as loyal to the agents as they are to the customers of DirecTV then they MIGHT be worth working for!

Hate the ppl at Convergys Orem UT, so unprofessional and sadly don't care for there employees but themselves, TL's are only worried about the agents making upgrades because it's how th TL's make more money.
They never work with your schedule, they have you work every Saturday and Sunday, when you are away on your day off changes are made on your schedule that day and you come back the next day with mandatory over time and have to stay or you get points added to your attendance, there operations manager Tammy Boger is so inconsiderate, rude and so unprofessional it's pathetic. Instead of going threw a problem they might have with you to better your agent skills they just call you up and terminate you, Honestly worst place and company to work for.

This company in Utah picks and chooses the employees they will defend. They currently are telling the State (not UTAH) that the monthly incentives are nominal and should not be included in the payments calculated in the child support and the parent is already in arrears and heads the department has control of their attendants and sales. So...

Same problem at Convergys in Waco, Texas. They are running 4 to 5 "training" class all the time and hiring warm bodies. I came In April, 2011, got six weeks of "training" which was a bunch outdated powerpoint slides and yapping how great the client is and learned next to nothing which came appearant after I got home and on calls daily. We were not trained good, in these classes we were told we got our base pay for our work and if we could earn high stats on sales, no 24 hr repeat calls, etc we could get a bonus, also we could earn commisions on sales. So if we didnt sale we just didnt get the bonus. First day on phones I find if you do not make the first stats bonus you do not earn any sales commission. Then they set 6 high stats you have to get to get bonus. Needless to say no bonus money ever could be earned by about 75% of agents. Then after 3 months working along, being told I was doing good, my team leader left the company and we got a new leader who is in Halifax, Canada and the first conversation I have with her she is writing me up for not meeting all my stats. Just yesterday she wrote me up again for being at 83% and not at the target of 88% and if I can not meet that on my next shift I can be fired at any time. She wouldnt give me a time frame of when the stats had to be up to be fired or anything. You are expected to answer calls for AT&T customers, find out what they need, resolve the issue from billing, techinical, sales, legal, web troubleshooting, warranties, insurance etc (anything that could happen with a cellphone) after getting that done you are to grill them to make sure they need nothing else, repeat everything you have fixed to them again, sell more packages to them, make sure you say your name twice, their name twice, must say "best value" as you sell them stuff they do not need, verify them for security, thank them, text them about what you just did and do all of this under 10 minutes per call and they do not callback in 24hrs. If you dont you are not meeting stats and can be fired. We are not allowed to tell customers were are not with AT&T, we can not tell customers we will be wrote up if they call back within 24hrs (doesnt matter if they call for something else totally we are marked for it), our equipment is old 20 yr Wyse terminals and 1st generation VOIP phones that are constantly breaking down and of course if you go down you are punched off the clock while you have to call India and get someone who can not speak English to fix it, so you can get back on phones and get paid. Of course while trying to help the customers the programs are always lagging or crashing and there is a chat room you are required to be in where management is yelling about we have calls in que, or gripe at you for having to go on hold to get everything typed, if you ask for help managers tell you to go read up on it in this maze of txt info about policies and stuff even though a customers are having to sit and what for us to read pages of mostly useless information etc

I have a illness considered a disability. I was fired for attendance then called and spoke with someone and was hired back and they worked with my with hours and needing early shifts for all my doctor appts. I went through training twice and the last time I was doing transition part time so was told I would have 4 weeks. I had a flare up and had to miss almost two weeks. I left work being told I will get a call telling me what my shift will be for the next week. Instead I got a call from a women I never dealt with and kept telling me I had 2 more week training then I was supposed to, that was wrong. There was a girl still in transition with me she was full time and did have two weeks. The called and fired me for sales, I wish they would listen to the calls and see how many chance I actually had for sales. My main concern was taking care of the customers issue then it would get to the end up the call and i would try and throw a sale in but face it unless it is free they do not want it and even if it is free if they have to call back to cancel it they don't want it. I guess some people are better at sales but I would like to hear how well the customer was treated and of the issue was handled correctly. In the end no one was around to talk to that I have dealt with and one part that really upset me is they said we gave you a written final warning... no they did not I was gone with my disease. It was just such a shock, I need that money for my prescriptions and a doctor coming up. Some warning would of helped. Some explanation from someone that did not give me the vibe of heartlessness. So disappointed and do not know what to do next.

Only company I have ever seen that would fire supposedly over having just less than 98% sales attainment. In reality, they want to pay their "WAH" (work at home) employees less. So, after a couple of years of raises, unless you manage to escape the "firing lottery", you will too be replaced by someone with less talent for less money. They are heartless, gutless USERS.

The same thing has began occuring here in Virginia...when Convergys took over a popular satellite compnay's customer service work. The state of VA signed a contract with Convergys to employee 100 persons...to help promote rural unemployment rates. I believe the jobs here in VA were just taken on; in order, to get the "BAck to Work" tax write offs...Matter of fact; everyone I spoke with qualified for the tax incentive. It did not matter how long they employeed us...OR if we maintained our employment. It was almost if they set rules, regulations...and boundaries that are almost incapable of being met...so that they can hire more persons for write off at tax time!

Convergys is telephone sweatshop labor plain and simple! Every Convergys call center in North America is located near a college or university in order to recruit the large number of warm bodies needed due to the high turnover of workers. Workers are treated poorly because Convergys can always hire more cheap labor replacements and work them to the point of burnout.

New employees would be well advised to read all of the waivers HR gives new employees to sign their first day on the job--mandatory arbitration (note: public policy issues such as minimum wage, overtime, discrimination, etc. can't be arbitrated away), no severance pay for floor agents, etc. Don't bother asking for copies of what you sign to run past an attorney, HR will claim "proprietary" and refuse your request. Everything is stacked against new hires in order for Convergys to avoid liability and responsibility.

Convergys is well known to Utah Workforce Services for being notorious in trying to screw employees out of unemployment pay. I know of cases where Convergys layed off employees covered under the Family Leave Act in violation of federal law. The only reason Convergys gets away with it is because employees don't file complaints with EEOC and other government agencies.

Those bogus "Verbal Warnings" given to employees to sign are a device to either get out of paying that whopping 5 to 20-cent an hour raise to employees or setting the employee up to be fired with cause to get out of paying unemployment. One woman was fired from the USPS account for discussing religion when the recorded call clearly shows she didn't. She got paid unemployment when Workforce Services heard the recorded call. When AT&T closed part of their account in Orem, Convergys tried to get out of paying unemployment by claiming layed off workers quit because they didn't apply for another job like other people that walk in of the street. Workforce Services actually had to explain to an Orem Convergys Operations Manager what a job offer is. That should tell you how stupid upper-levels of management are at Convergys in Orem! Most of the managers at Convergys in Orem are useless and couldn't get a management job anywhere else.

Convergys wrongful dismissal

My husband and I both went to work for Convergys on October 26, 2009. We started our training and 2 weeks into the training both of our kids got sick with the flu (that had been picked up from the filth of the Convergys building). I missed approximately 20 hours due to taking care of them, and I was asked to resign or be fired. So I resigned. My husband continued working at the company only because there are no jobs to be found in our region. He was promised promotions to floor walker and even one time promised to be put on Resolution Desk. His TL would always make up some excuse why he couldn't be promoted for one reason or another. On June 30, 2010 our daughter became sick and spent 13 days in the hospital which was 60 miles away from our home. He told his TL about what was going on and she told him that everything would be ok with his job, just to take care of our daughter. So on July 7, 2010 he received a call from his TL stating to him that he needed to resign because his points were too high to continue working there. So over the phone, he resigned and his TL told him that there wouldn't be any problem with him getting unemployment since it was an issue with family. So low and behold on August 3, 2010, he received a letter stating that his unemployment had been denied because the company said he quit without good cause! HELLO! His TL TOLD him to resign! And he had VERY GOOD CAUSE, our daughter was in the hospital and had been there for 8 days prior to the phone call. He was never allowed to speak to the HR dept, because she was either on vacation or she was "busy"! Convergys SUCKS! And I'd NEVER recommend anyone work for them, unless you want to work for scoundrels and liars!

The trainer made the company look good and lovely this trainer needs to run this company but when I actually enter the doors of the floor and seen the cubicals.The cube walls was filthy and dirty on the cubical.It look like molds and coffee stains everywhere and they expect you to get paid 9hr looking at the messy environment.

I am complaining because I thought I would actually have a serious job that I could take seriously.Obviously I feel sad and cried after I seen how the company really feels about new employees.To work just to pay the bills is not my goal.I want to work to reach my goals.Everybody should care about each other.I do not think the administration would let there babies/adopted kids grow up and look at coffee stains/molds/dirt stuck in the corners of the cubicals for 8hr a day 5 times a week.My new goal is to find authority at a large measure to force actions.

I was fired from Convergy's after taking vacation/pto that I had saved up. I had been with the company for almost 9 years and had always followed the same process to get pto or uto approved. I was told that I had taken time that I did not have and let go, at the next pay date I received my final paycheck. Funny thing though I was sent a check 3 months later and when I contacted HR to inquire what it was for, thinking maybe a pension or 401k that had been processed, but was told it was for pto, the exact amount of hours that I had been told I didn't have. I hate them!

Well I worked for the Convergys in Olathe, KS and I was asked if I would like to which over to a different department because the hours was alot better and I would be home with my kids at a decent time. Well me and some other co-workers said yes and whiched over to start or training to help out the other department well I missed the first day due to my car being in the shop, the next day I was let go from my job because I missed one day of training. When I asked could I have my old job back they told me no because that department was over crowded, then I find out less then a week later that everybody that was in the training class with me was also let go because that same department that said they needed help turned around and said that they were also over crowded and when they went to.ask for their old jobs back they were all given the same answer I was given. Convergys is really wrong
for that because for most of us it was hard finding that job and we all have families that we need to provide for and now were stuck trying to find other jobs.

I was just discharged today from Convergys Valdosta GA site as of 01/27/2015. The alleged violation was that I was clocked into 01-001 phone time between 7:45 - 8:07 and not taking calls. They have a zero tolerance policy for call avoidance and because somehow there were no records for any account they could pull that I could use to prove otherwise they had nothing to go by so they just let me go. I was asked to clock into 17-002 (1:1 team lead coaching) by my TL Josh Powell on the 18th which was the first inquiry on the matter. Despite evidence showing that I have never been reprimanded in the 2 1/2 years I've been working for Convergys for this same reason nor do the past records in their system show that i've ever attempted to avoid calls except maybe a few minutes here and there of after call work to note an account OM Dwayne said the issue was non-negotiable even if there was a glitch in the system. Mind you this same said supposedly BULLETPROOF system deleted my entire company profile a year before and an OM had to approve 3 days VGH to rebuild my company profile before I could return to work.

Checked into "At Will" employment in the link below for my state and it's completely legit. Quote: "It does not make a difference whether the employee actually did anything wrong, or whether the employer misunderstood the facts of the situation. " How can companies legally do this to people?! I'm single mind you and still have a chance but I feel terrible for anyone actually counting on their job to support a family if this is how Corporate America operates. This is why unions were established.

Convergys master plan is to hire lots of people during peak season ( spring to New Years) and discharge as many as possible during slow season January to late March. Why pay people to sit around with a slow call volume instead of laying people off? No Convergys dare not lay no one off resulting in dishing out tons of dollars for unemployment. So what do they do? Convergys's begin to purge. I filed a complaint with the company and the very next day I was called into the office by TL, Arlene Howard with Operations Manager Russell (Charlotte, NC location) and terminated, alleging that I had maxed out in the point system when in fact Ghost points were added! Use to work there in the Hickory Center as well, I hated it so bad that I told someone after leaving that if I had a friend in hell and one in convergys I would get them out of Convergys before getting them out of Hell! It's that bad! If they offer you a job run! Run as fast as you can, dig ditches, roof houses, clean port a potties, sale cars, work at a fast food place, but for goodness sake stay away from that place of torment.

I need to get a phone number where to call, I am an employee from Convergys Costa Rica. I am very disapointed with Convergys, almost all of my co-workers would like to talk instead of me, how can it be possible, there is an agent that started working at overnight shift, her sister is the Operation Manager 's girlfriend (his girlfriend works at Convergys as well) so, just because she is his sister-in-law she got a TL position, I can't stand it!
she only has three weeks at overnight. She used to work in the morning shift, then, we realized about it, we were very upset... Also, there is TL that has a relationship with the Operation Manager. I think that is not good, I have seen many of my friends loosing his job at convergys because a TL and him doesn't have a friendship with them. I need someone to help me, I hope someone reads this message and reply to me.

Convergys big liars

Me and my Fianc©e were suppose to be working at convergy's as a temporary position for the census job. we'll we arrive around 6 45 in the morning and I explain that I never received a call and in which I should of gotten a call back after the background check. I never got a call back regarding the mandatory orientation and this is the same story pretty much for 17 other people. They let a couple of people in for training and after waiting 3 hours they say to every one else that they hired too many people and that the rest of the 14 people were on a waiting list. I would of appreciated a phone call or a email telling me to find a different job but I guess the integrity over at convergys isn't there. No one cared that 17 people were waiting in line for 3 hours hoping to hear back, " come back with us" . I now don't know about my financial situation due to convergys messing everything up. has this happened to you over here. I love to hear your story.

DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY!

1. It took two months before I FINALLY got 'hired'.
2. I was working a 20 an hour a week minimum wage job when I got 'hired' by Convergys, so naturally I left that job to start a 40 an hour a week job at $9.00 an hour.
3. I was TOLD that I was hired and everything was set for me to begin training on Monday August 26th at 11 AM EST. At 10:40 AM EST, I receive a phone call telling me that they are pulling me from the class because my background check still hadn't come back yet. They waited until the last possible minute to do this to me. I completely lost it and told them off and let them know exactly how unprofessional I thought it was that they tell me I am hired and give me a start date only to take it away from me the very day I am supposed to begin training. The 'recruiter' tells me that it would be three weeks before they could reassign me. THREE WEEKS! I am now unemployed and have to wait another three weeks to start 'training'. I got angry and hung up on her. After cooling off a while, I sent her an email apologizing and explained my situation to them.
3. The next day (Tuesday August 25th) I receive an email telling me that I am set to begin training today (August 26th). I got excited and thought my apology was accepted and everything was good to go. So I login and sit through the 'roll call' only to be one of eight people whose name wasn't called. I was then told to leave the room and that one of the trainers would call me within fifteen minutes to let me know what was going on. TWO HOURS LATER I get a phone call from the same woman I spoke with on Monday. She tells me that I will NOT be allowed to work at all for Convergys because I had a bad attitude. She also claimed that I stated I was no longer interested which was a blatant lie. I NEVER said that. I NEEDED this job!

So tell me what kind of 'company' tells someone they are hired and encourages them to quit their current job and clear their schedule for three weeks worth of training? What kind of 'company' tells someone they can begin work BEFORE all of said employee's paperwork is finalized?

Steer clear of this place. I know they have several good reviews, but you should be forwarned that most of these 'good reviews' are from management members within their hiring group. If I could press charges against this place I would.

So now I have no job and no income. I only hope that the job I quit will hire me back otherwise I am completely screwed.

I worked for Convergys on their AT&T work from home project. I am a Verizon customer and after seeing how little AT&T cares about their customer, I will stay a Verizon customer! Let me tell you the main problems. 1. They expect you to go through 10 different screens to solve one problem. 2. They change their policies on things hourly so if you don't go to "my csp" while working on like say taking a payment, you will get into trouble! 3. The only way to ask a question is in a chat room! Good luck with that because although you are told to not put anything personal in there because it could cause a person's question to be lost. But if you are a redhat, you can talk with other redhats or sales mentors ir whatever other stupid name they have for a position that isn't needed. I kean don't we all need to know what the current tl's favorite Starbucks flavor is or you can see the stupid cheers they do in chat to get people motivated to sell Uverse! But I guess questions can only get lost in regular employee's personal jabberings! 4. They don't give a rat'a** about the customer, they only want Uverse sales. If the problem is solved okay but if you make a Uverse sale they will shout it from the mountain tops! 5. They listen to every phone call you are on. And by they, I mean its like they have parties and play your cals for everyone to hear! To me, eventually you are invading the customer's privacy! 6. PTO is a joke. You can try to request and it will say you can't request until so and so date so you try to request that day and it gives you a different date! 7. They changed your schedule constanly! You have to check it several times a day even after you are off! A girl that worked with me was written up for bot calling in on a Sunday but when she clocked out on Sat it said she was off on Sunday but then her schedule was changed to her coming in at 6:30 a.m on Sunday but here's the kicker, the schedule wasn't changed until Sunday at 9:15 a.m. so I guess she was suppose to be able to foresee that she was goingto have to come in. Bottom line, run! Don't walk! Get away as fast as you can! Oh, and you get told like you are a 2 year old to make sure you potty on your break because you cant go once you are on the phones! They are downright nasty to their employees and don't care about customers. Herea another idiotic thing they came up with, you are not allowed to transfer without permission. This means that if a customer calls in and speaks spanish and they get english by accident, they must wait while you ask in chat if you can transfer and if you are lucky to see your question answered its something like "is there no way you can help them"? Oh yeah, let me take a spanish course real quick! There's also the stupid rule that you are not allowed to place someone on hold! Why? Do they really want to worry about making small talk with someone they don't know? But youbare suppose to use this time to get their Uverse going! And if the customer says theyalready have it you get into trouble if you dont check! I guess you are suppose to say something like " I know you said you had Uverse but I checked in our system and you are a liar"! Now when can we schedule you for installation?! Worst job I've ever had in my life!

I too worked for Convergys in Lake Mary, Florida. Very unorganized organization. All they want if for their clients (ATT) to believe that they are doing everything right. After nine weeks of being half trained one is thrown on the floor with the promise that coaches and TL's are available to assist. That is a lie, a customer could be on the line with customer resolutions for an hour waiting for assistance from a TL or coach. Very frustrating. The TL's also have you to agree that you have had training on a particular product when there has been no training at all on the product. I was embarrassed to work for a company that do not care about the consumer or the employee. Lastly PTO days cannot be used if it is necessary to be out with a sickness, they must be preplanned, but how do you preplan an illness.

I too worked for Convergys in Lake Mary, Florida. This was the most disorganized organization that I have ever encountered. They say you have PTO days; however, God forbid you get ill and have to miss days because of the illness that is more than likely picked up in their building, those PTO days cannot be used to prevent getting 'points'. Their team leads are a joke. All they are concerned about is making the numbers match as to fool the companies that they have been contracted to work for. Their customer service and handling of customers accounts are horrible. Lunch break is 30 mins. so one has time to throw the food down, forget chewing it up and do not bring food that has to be heated, now one has 20 mins to eat it. It is no wonder people are ill all the time, no time to slow the heart rate down or for food to digest. Forget going to the bathroom. I felt that I was on a slave camp while employed there. The next thing is one could work there for 10 years and not receive a raise of any kind. Be careful when accepting a job at Convergys.

I worked for this place, for 9 months and gracious I have never in my life seen a company that gets great pleasure in firing people. Not only do they create a hostile work enviroment, the stress they create to boot is awful. I brought in a Dr's note stating I only have one kidney, and that I can't afford to hold it. I got wrote up for taking an extra break to run to the restroom. I have never had a bladder infection in my life I got 3 while working there. Oh and lets bring up red flag behavior. Really you can't just tell someone what they did wrong and how to fix it? You have to red flag them and then fire them when they get two. Oh and that is if your older the young one with 2 red flags is still employeed. They want us to value their customers, but I assure you they don't value their employees unless your a supervisor then you walk on water. You can commit all kinds of misdoings and you still have a job. Supervisors can even tell a customer have to call you back need to go to the bathroom and this is ok. If a rep pulled that we would be unemployed so quick it would make your head spin.

Convergys management

I was employed at the Convergys in Chattanooga, TN (CSR FOR DIRECTV) and that is by far the worst place I have ever worked. It is nasty the management is horrible and they say that they will work with you on school and they don't. I stayed sick there do to how nasty it is and they don't care if there are sick people in there they will not let them go home unless they have a fever. Monday 3/08/2010 I spoke to a supervisor about the stress conditions and that I was looking for some where else to work and told her that I was considering putting in my 2 weeks notice in and would speak to my supervisor when he returned to work. Today 3/10/2010 I decided to put my 2 weeks notice in and work the last 2 weeks, but to my suprise when I got to work my badge did not work. My TL came out and asked to speak to me and I asked him if I was getting fired why didn't anyone contact me so that I wouldn't waste my time due to the fact that I get dropped off at work. He took me to see my OM and he told me that the other TL that I had spoke with told him that I was going to quit so he went ahead and wrote my paperwork up and did not give me an option to resign they fired me. I did not sign any seperation form or recevie anything. I believe that is fair and so many people complain about that place and no one does anything. I just would like for you to know how much a poor job that company is doing so that someone can do something about it.

Is this is the selection process for convergys...He says at the time of interview location, we are the third batch people for this recruitment conducted by him... there are nearly 2000 students are attended for this convergys interview and finally 24 got selected...
does anyone got client calls in prevous batch students?

why our telephonic calls are too late...

I got selected for convergys held at Vijaya Engineering College, Khammam on march 13, 2011. The Recruitmnet process conducted by a HR name Sebastin Ferandes. He conducted written, GD/JAM, Technical cum Hr...and finally said there is client round dat was a telephonic round from client ...By GODS grace I have sucessfully completed first three rounds and waiting for a telephonic interview from client...But till now I didn't receive any telephonic call from call...And moreover he said this recruitment for IT openings in bangalore...
By sawing the above message a just wondered, becoz hr didn't ask me any amount...and why client rejecting all of us, without any call...
but when i call to college, they spoke to me dat we are all definitely getting telephonic calls.
when i enquired about convergys in bangalore there is no application development centers for convergys in bangalore.I just shoked by knowing dat...

Is this interviews are geniune...
are there application development centers for convergys in bangalore...

please let us help me by clarifying these doubts...

No, we have not done you any mistake. Are an employee. Is that the way you are supporting this is too bad. Behave yourself. Behave like a proffessional.We pity you. This is too bad having this type of conversation.Shame on yourself.If the students having such a talent you can directly recruit. Please don't pay such cheap politics.Its not good for you.

hey thank u for the information...we will surely take an action against him but u should first give us some more details of yours...and sss there is a HR by that name but not in blore...he is is Michigan...we can contact him..but u must know he had clearly told that all u people must have been rejected by the clients and he has asked the money so that he can proscess and he just wanted to give u guys an another chance...cause i know how much he requested for this people of Khammam...because i was the one who gave permission for him..becuase i was the one who gave permission for him to ask if they are ready to pay the amount and then we will go ahead and make the interview...I think so u guys have made a big mistake by putting this on net..cause i know him he has never led his hand for extra money..and moreover he never needs that 20k also.he so much well equipped in life why will he ask u ...? He just wanted to see some people in convergys cause he liked them and he thougt they are talented...I know about him we are lucky enough to have him as HR..and the nmber u displayed is office mobile number..so u can call back to the same number for any more details...cause after seeing this he has decided to fly back to his native and work there...and after seeing all this he has decide to quit convergys in July...and he has already put his papers down..U guys have made a big mistake by putting this on internet...hope so u will regert later

MR. SEBASTIN PRABHU from BANGALORE has ring me and asking for money of 20, 000/- and he will be conducting the telephonic round on April 29th if we pay else he wont.

The person naming SEBASTIN PRABHU of BANGALORE CONVERGYS is he really working with your company.Is this the process of selecting in convergy's.

The other friend of mine had already paid 30, 000 for the same person.He is asking me to pay 20, 000 by today or tommorrow.

If he is fraud please help us by taking necessary actions.

My husband had several points for which he worked overtime (according to his TL) to make up the point. In the end, NONE of the points were removed! He had doctor's notes for the time he had missed and it was brushed to the side. The Convergys that you work for sounds "great" but the Convergys in Hickory, NC SUCKS!

I have worked for Convergys for just about a year. I have enjoyed working for this company and have had nothing but a great experience. Before working for Convergys, I was a restaurant manager for over 15 years. Generally, when you put in a two week notice and maybe you weren't quite up to par in your job performance, then a company will go ahead and let you go. Nothing illegal or unprofessional about that at all. Direct TV is one of the biggest and busiest project we have. Therefore, we need people to be at work when you are scheduled to work and they can not always work around school schedules. That is the nature of this business. I too go to school full time (on-line) and sense my stats are always above average (I work very hard on these), my TL's had NO problem working around what I needed and took very good care of me. Working in a call center, any call center, is stressful and couple that with a project that is very, very busy, that does add to the stress. If you can't handle that then you are in the wrong position. I would like to address the sick thing. I have come to work, feeling horrible and not wanting to be there, and have had my management send me home. Yes, there is policies for being absent. They give you 12 points (if you miss a day; it is a point). Who gets sick 1 day out of every month?! Let's say you get the flu. You go to the doctors and the doctor tells you to stay home for 3 days. As long as you have that doctors note they will only give you one point. All these complaints are made by folks who were not doing what they should have been doing and got canned for it. Grow up...
