Zoosk I can't get them to stop sending me emails

So they advertise this site as free on TV and I go check it out. NOT free, but it gets worse. I join on a "trial" basis and pay for the trial period. Like an idiot I give them my debit card info to pay because thats the "only" way they accept payment. Trial expires and I can't get the a-holes to stop taking money, so I cut up the debit card and get a new one. Then I can't get them to stop sending me emails so I threaten them with legal and police action. They ignore it and don't even respond. I just came home again to "3 more 57 year old dogs viewed your site". How the hell do you make them go away!?

Zoosk company discrimination on males

This company keeps a very tight screening process on males only. I called to complain about some funny pictures that I made of myself., you know on the computer where you add sunglasses and sort. Well this company took them off my site claiming that it would not allow copy write material on their site. The first customer representative was extremely rude when I explained to her that this was not copy write material from the internet but rather made by me. I went further on to explain to her that I had seen many women post copy write materials on their pages but yet when a male does it they immediately reacted. After some debate I was passed on to a male supervisor which in turn was also very rude and ended up hanging up the phone on my ear. This company allows women to be creative and zany on their sites in order to build up the number of female users, while at the same time controls men s site by screening their notices and making sure that it will be proper for the women claiming this is a serious dating site. Customer relations= a ridicule and a hang up. Furthermore it refused me the right to use a unique name for myself after our hang-up, this was done in retaliation for me speaking up. They canceled my account from their side.

I've actually met & dated someone on zoosk. Well more like a booty call on her part being she was married & that's all she wanted. She gave me her number the night b4, and we talked the next day. then we met that night at her job & that's how things were for a few months. I wanted more then just sex but being she was married there never could be. We still stay n touch but haven't seen each other in a month now. We both live n Phoenix, AZ..

Zoosk scam

When subscription was over I suddenly got tons of people wanting to meet me, none of whom turned out to exist. They also put in a system to limit who you meet by age and then lied to me and said it had always been that way even when I showed them my previous contacts and their own suggestions which were under their new age restrictions. They just lie and lie and lie to get your money. Stay away!

After 1 week of having started my subscription, my account was hacked and highjacked. After trying to complain I found out that all my responses were going to the email of the person who highjacked my account. I tried to find a phone number to call. The numbers (and I found a few) directed me to complain online. This got me nowhere! Because the person who highjacked the account had control of my account and could attain any and all refunds of my subscription. He even changed my profile info and is using it to scam other people. Because I cannot contact a real person, my info is now being used to scam others. There has to be a way legally to contact the crooks at Zoosk. Because of not being able to contact them and make them aware of this problem they are contributing to it. Further investigating on my part is revealing that the person who did this to me has an email address located in Nigeria. I have been contacted on my facebook page (because I linked it with Zoosk) by others who are scamming that are located in Russia as well. BEWARE OF ZOOSK! They are set up so you will lose every time and continue to lose till you place a stop of monthly payments at your bank. If someone has a better idea about how to contact them please let me know. My name might very well be damaged by this!

Zoosk is most definitely a scam. I tried this claimed "free" account out to see what it was all about. So I found a few matches that I wanted to talk to. When you try to type a message you immediately get a popup that tells you to purchase a membership in order to send a message. I was able to send a wink, but only on certain profiles. So I read that if a member sends you a message as CEO Shayan Zadeh claims, you should be able to respond back. Since I wasn't able to message for free I would wink at a few. I sent a wink, and within a few moments I got a message that only showed a few words with a link that said "read more" so i click the link and get the popup to buy a membership... I also noticed when I would get these messages the person for that profile would not even be online... So in essence Zoosk has created fake profiles with pictures of models to get your attention, which I'm sure go away once you sign up, and only lets you "wink" at the fake profiles and not the ones of real people. Zoosk.com is a shady business and a rip off!

Zoosk false advertising

Zoosk engages in shady and false advertising. They tell you that there is no charge to sign up for their site, build a profile, or search for dates. They tell you that you must be a paid member to send messages. What they do NOT tell you is that 80% of the people who show up in your search results are not paid members, and thus can't reply to messages. If you send a message to a person who is not a paid member, that person will not be able to read the message, but instead will get a prompt from Zoosk to sign up for the paid service in order to read the message that you sent. This is blatant false advertising, because a large percentage of the people who get that notice that they must pay in order to read your message are simply going to say the hell with it. Zoosk falsely claims "Here are thousands of women whom you can contact" but does not tell you that the majority of them can't reply. They have refused to refund my money, so I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and alerting everyone within earshot about their thievery. What a scam!

I happen to run into an old boyfriend on Zoosk yesterday. He is no longer a member and cannot log in but came up in my Matches! Then I received a message from him, on Zoosk, telling me that he appreciates the wink, but why don't I write him a note and tell him something about myself!
When I complained to Zoosk, they told me it was my settings! This guy should have never showed up in my matches if he is not a member!
How many of the other guys that I have attempted to correspond with are not members!?

Joined thinking I would meet someone and after subscribing for $ 74.95 for 6 months, you have to buy additional coins to meet someone interested in you. What a rip-off! I sent an email complaining about this and requested a refund which I doubt I will get. Many fake profiles and the company will not answer emails regarding this matter. I intend to log a BBB complaints against them as well. You would be better off meeting someone in the laundry mat!

I agree, they should be banned from being in Facebook at all.

I saw at first the advertising saying my friends use it then tried it out and sent 2 or 3 messages only to find out that to chat, send another message/reply or do anything at all I was then required to be a "Subscriber".

Basically I'm not able to send messages, chat or reply to messages without being a "Subscriber" which is paid.

The funny part is that Zoosk did not mention at any point that to be able to do these things I would have to be a paying member. Only after I wasted a ton of time making up a profile then I find out I have to pay to use the basic functionalities.

Totally a scam! I'm going to report it to Facebook for fraud/scam.

Zoosk fraud

Basically they promote the site as if its free to get started. Its free to list your profile, but even as a paying member, if the other person your are trying to contact is not a paying member, that other person cannot receive emails from you. So basically they draw you in with all these "fake" profiles of people that are not even reachable at all. When you send them an email zoosk.com tells you that the contact has been made, but the person you send the email to cannot even read the email you sent them, zoosk blocks it and tries to lure them into paying to be a member for them to be able to contact you.

The zoosk.com site has NO customer support. When you call the support number they force you to leave a voice mail since there is literally no operators covering the support services. The recording says you will get a call back within 48 hours of leaving your message. I have left 11 message so far, and NEVER got a callback yet.

I spoke to other friends that are members and that have called for support and left a message and also have never received a callback from zoosk.com.

Zoosk.com is a scam, they lure you in with lies, and they are not around when you need them. This site should be shut down, its the absolute worse site I have even used.

Dont even think about wasting your money on this site! You will regret it.

I subscribed, believing, according to their advertisement, that after I paid for a subscription, that I would be able to email and talk with others. Only to learn after paying, that The other person, also, had to be a subscriber as well. If not, no communication. this is wrong. There is no way to know this, until after one pays.

Sure it's free to join, but: like other dating websites, even though you can download the 'instant chat', I find with most men that not only can I NOT see their message they sent me, I hardly can respond back to them! :( The message to 'subscribe' comes up constantly when I try to. I refuse to pay for an application through Facebook, and you are very limited in what you are able to do. You also can't give out your e-mail address or other such personal information to help users find you through other means. I can't even find them on Meet Me or when I do a search on Facebook! I'm sorry now that I joined (through a friend) Zoosk. :(

Zoosk is not a good site at all false advertisement charges more than they say they will and do not have have as many members as they say they have so noone will put up with that. If you do not believe me buy some zoosk coins and some zoosk boosts and buy a membership that adds up to more than they say check your bank statements and then try to read the fake auto replies of people that are not members. if you are a member you will know what i mean when i say false advertisement i was a member and they double charged me the fraud dept. at the bank called me up about zoosk so they have their eyes on this site. by the way if you just want to meet people get a free facebook.

Zoosk credit card charge

This dating site is a rip off. Do not sign up for a memebership. If you do make sure you cancel it before it is over or they will charge your credit card until you officially cancel your memebership with them. Their customer service sucks also. You cannot get in touch with anybody. You have to leave a message and they have 24 hours to call you back. Additionally, this website is a compiler. They do not have enough members so they they data from other websites like facebook. Do not use their service.

Zoosk misleading advertising

Far too much about this site seems dodgy. You wink and people and a lot reply quickly despite being shown as not online but then you find most of the replies are identical... Not sure if these people are genuine and the replies are made up to try and get people to subscribe, or if they are just fake profiles.
You can't edit your profile to include anything to show you are only a free member and can't reply to messages, I've tried a few times and it just gets deleted by the moderator. Which is odd as there are several female members on there who say things like that, even a few who include alternative contact details...
The prices advertised are also a con - they say 'for a single payment of x' but then add VAT on top - I'd be surprised if that isn't false advertising myself... As others have said, beware repeat billing if you sign up by credit card.

I was on it for 3 months and never got a date. They sent their so-called "Scientific Matchmaking" dates to me but none of them replied. Neither did about 95 percent of those I messaged on Zoosk after I did searches. Ones that did reply only wanted to talk about the weather and the time of day. Curiously, none seemed interested in romance or date, which also made me curious. I also wondered how many were actual paid up members, since when I was browsing initially without paying my profile was still up there and it looked to paid Zoosk members that I was available to chat to when I wasn't. This might help explain why so few actually replied to my messages. But if so, it's just a ripoff. I cannot believe this is legal, since it grossly misleads people as to their chances of actually talking to a Match and getting a date. Has nobody taken this outfit to the Office of Fair trading? They should be made to indicate which of their "me3mbers" are paid up ones and which ones are not.

Zoosk dating websites are totally wack

It has taken me years and a lot of wasted paper to finally figure out the simple truth: dating websites are totally wack! I have met more losers, weirdoes, and enough diagnostic facility candidates on these cheesy rip-off sites to fill an entire city. These sites are filled with way too many single women with young children and mismatched baby-daddies nowhere to be found and too many Dexter-looking dudes who still live in Big Momma's basement. Just do it the way folks did it in the old times: meet people on the same dusty roads you travel. If you want to meet someone nice, go to nice, educational places. Stay out of clubs and happy hour; nothing but pot-bellied, pee-smelling drunks and floozies dressed like cheesy sexworkers with too much Ronald McDonald makeup. Dating websites like Zoosk, e-Harmony, and Match.com are just legalized organized crime units. Shame on them!

Zoosk this company is a total rip-off and prays on lonely singles bank accounts

This company is a total rip-off and prays on lonely singles bank accounts. I signed up for a 3 month membership with this company for a charge of 39.95 — they charged me 69.94 and I have tried to contact them about this and their phone number is a joke and their e-mail ( customer service ) is a joke also. when I did finally get a responds from them ( after threating them withh BBB inquiry and bank dispute fillings ) they said that the extra 29.95 was a one time membership fee — and on their site it does not say anything about a additional 29.95 fee on top of the 3 month membership ( NO WHERE ! ), and when you complain to them about this they just put a filter on your account so that you no longer can send or receive messages – leaving the account totally useless and them holding ALL your money. My bank says that they can’t do anything about this and I am just hoping that the BBB can do something to help me, , , what a headache ! — do not sign up with these people — they are crooks. what makes this even more messed up is that back in January ( of this year ) I had signed up for a one month membership and I was only charged the 19.95 – nothing else ( no 29.95 fee ). so along with my complaint and all the others, believe what you read, , Zoosk is a SCAM — if you would like to read more about this complaint ( full version — go to http://zooskscam.webs.com/ ). this company pilfers money from lonely singles all over the world — don’t let yourself fall victim to their Catch-22 legal loop-hole, , they are ### and need to be stopped —- AND they are not the only dating site out there practicing this fraud. WATCH OUT ! do your homework before giving out your debit/credit card info.

Zoosk continual unauthorised card payments

I subscribed to Zoosk In August 2010 I met a new partner in September 2010 so unsubscribed but still recieved mail from zoosk, In December my relationship ended, I contacted Zoosk In january 2011 and told them I wanted to unsubscribe due to the behaviour of my ex partner as I did not want to be at risk of this happening again however they made it very difficult for me to unsubscribe and continued to send me matches and mail from men wanting to chat I made a couple of visits to the site since which tells you your subscription is due for renewal wether you like it or not they take unauthorised card payments from your account . I used my Maestro card twice in this time and now because Zoosk have my card details they have decided to take payments from my account without my permission and the amounts of payment fluctuate . On the 2/8/2011 an unauthorised payment of £71.93 was taken from my account an amount that I never agreed to nor would as I simply could not afford to pay this left me in finacial disaster, I sent them an email asking them to return the money to my account as I had not agreed to this and therefore it was unauthorised, I also told them once again that I did not wish to subscribe, this has been ignored and they continue to send me mail and matches, this is causing me a great deal of stress and pushing me into financial hardship . I will now have to cancel my card to insure that they will no longer take these unathorised card payments . I hope you can help me by having Zoosk compensate me for payments taken without my authorisation . I look forward to hearing from you on this matter . Thank you Gayle Colquhoun

Zoosk its a scam

I joined Zoosk for one month even after a friend warned me - stupid move. They lure you in with woimen that supposedly have messaged you, then the messages were almost all the same, or two different computer generated response. I have demanded my money back from them. I have enough self-confidence to fight them and report them here, but its absolutely pathetic that the lonely people who are too timid or embarrassed to respond get burned. Please let me know if there's other ways to get compensated by them...thanks

Contact the Better Business Bureau. Not sure how it works in other countries, but they charged my card 6 times and I had to file a dispute with my bank to get my money back from them. I also sent them a message saying that I have reported them and if my bank does not get my funds back, they better do it. Also informed them that I reported them as well. I did not sign up for Zoosk account either! The charges just popped up out of nowhere!

Anyway, try that. There must be a way that they can be stopped.

Best of luck!

Zoosk is crap! they cause you to think people are flirting with you when there NOT! its automatically done by the site to send you flirts from people that aren't flirting with you at all! I payed for one months subscription and they tacked on another 22 bucks for a first time user fee plus, I only e-mails I ever got were from people trying to get me to go on another site like Yahoo.com where their not monitored so they can try to SCAM you out of money.Zoosk dating is complete ###! don't get me wrong I'm a decent looking person but, I just live in the boonies were you don't get to meet new people very often so, I tried that Zoosk dating and it was a BIG MISTAKE don't waste your time or money on them.

Zoosk obtaining money by deceit

joined zoosk 3 weeks ago, had a wink from a lady but couldn't respond because they wouldn't let you unless you paid them a minimum of £20.+vat
After a day trying to locate the lady through other sites I decided to pay the £20+vat.
Had one response from the lady and then ignored all other emails.
I feel she was a stooge for the company on a percentage, although I cannot prove this.
Her name was Johnson, She wouldn't tell me her first name.
Be warned the lengths people will go to fraudently obtain money from you, its the country we now live in.

Having set up a profile and browsed the Zoosk site and 'winked' at some people I went into a screen that suggested someone had sent me a message but I needed to subscribe to recieve the message. I would not have subscribed at that point if I hadn't been led to believe a contact had been made. But on subscribing (and finding they don't mention the VAT being extra until that stage) I found that the message I was getting to unlock was merely my 'wink' to them.
There is no cooling off option and once they have your money you are irrelevant, and it is not as if the product is much good compared to other sites I have visited which had betting functionality.

Forget the adverts and hype - don't waste you time and definately don't give them any of your money.

Zoosk way too expensive for what it is - doesn't even come close to match

See the same people over and over - no way of simply saying "Not interested" - only option is to "report" the other person.

Matches don't fit search specs 100%, eg. people without photos kept appearing in my search.

WAY too expensive for what it is - doesn't even come close to Match.

Too many problems to mention.

And it's the only thing I've signed up to recently, and since I deactivated my account I get at least 50 spam emails EVERY SINGLE DAY! They all mention zoosk or sex. Very annoying.

Zoosk cannot cancel subscription

I signed up for a member ship on Zoosk. Ended up meeting someone and decided to cancel my membership. I followed the instructions, but was not allowed past the survey part and actually cancelling the membership. I tried to call their office in Californina. All you get is a recording that they cannot service customer calls and to email them. On their help questions, they specifically state that they cannot guarantee they can reply to your email. So basically they have my credit card and can keep charging me a montly feef for a service that I no longer need. They only way I could cancel was to call my credit card company and cancel my card and be reissued a new one. This site in my opinion is fradulant.

Zoosk I don't understand how zoosk even still exists

I signed up and realized that in order to email back to someone, chat, or anything, you have to upgrade, so they basically force members to pay the expensive upgrades. There weren't any very attractive men on there, in the early 20's group because who wants to pay to find friendship, dates, etc? I don't understand how zoosk even still exists.

Zoosk payment

Hello my name is lynne lucas. I have been using zoosk for a little while now and ive logged on and already had 51 hits and now you are wanting me to pay 29.95$ for six months?I am having to pay for this in reading messages? That is ridiculous. E-harmony is offering me of 10 days free. And you think this is a better site to go with?! I dont think so. If someone tries out a new site they are interested in and already have to pay? You all should give a free trial for new users and/or people who are trying to use your site. I also have a bachelors degree in or nursing studying for my phd and I am also a mortician. Its not like I do not have the money, its the fact that we have to pay for this crap. It seems as if you all are desperate for money! There are also a lot of other sites out there offering me free. I am a beautiful lady (No conceit intended). The men who are sending me messages, it is not fair to them that I cannot even respond to them especially if I am interested in them. If you could please respond to me as soon as you can. I have read other complaints and it seems as if you all are out for the money for some reason. I want a response immediately. You are letting people down and it is not fair to them. I am willing to pay by 2/1/11 on my platinum card! Respond asap or forget it. I need it by e-mail [protected]@gmail.com
