Zen Peacemakers / Refusal to provide refund when registration cancelled as per their own policy

I and my husband eagerly registered to attend the September Symposium. At the time I was working in Africa. I sent in my registration and paid the fees for both my husband and I to attend. Life happened and I lost my job. Money became tight so travelling to the symposium was no longer affordable. I gave a month's notice (in July) that we could not come. A refund of the fee paid was promised with a hundred dollar penalty as per their cancellation policy. I still have not received the refund. This is not what I expected and is causing some financial hardship to my husband and I. I have sent many many emails and requests for payment. I have been patient. Now I am sharing my story in the hopes that it will move Zen Peacemakers to make peace with me and to alert others to the possibility this could happen to them.
