A scam. They want $199 for internet access to "pre-foreclosed" homes. Many of the homes they list are not even for sale! The prices are completely wrong, and you will not be able to get your money back. They don't do anything for you. They are a scam. Do not give them your money!

I found the website and called. The man i spoke with encourage me to speak with my husband first and gave me a call back number. About 2hr later I called and we registered with them. We made a list and looked at homes that next day. We did think it was odd that the price was very low. However we found a house that was for sale by a real estate just next door to a home on the list. So we spoke with the owner about the area and why might the homes in the area be so cheap and so many on a foreclosure list, they had no idea. We spoke with one of the home owners on the list as well and they never knew their home was on a list. After that we quit looking and called. We had no problem connected to a manager and was offered all of our money back other than the 29.00 fee to join and the access to the website would not be accessible to us any longer. Lisa the manager also offered the full refund if we wanted to wait the 90 days /5 rejection sales or was willing to give us access to a rental list they offer

I just got off the phone with Joseph, operator number 2083 and all he was interested in was getting my card number so he could charge me 199.00. He continually talked over me whenever I asked about their refund policy. When I finally raised my voice very slightly while asking him to please allow me to finish speaking, he simply hung up on me. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS SCAM!

On another note, I would like to address the comment made by Don Regal. Mr. Regal accused all of us of being lazy Americans. Well Mr. Regal, first of all, we are not lazy we are just tired of the true lazy people out their taking advantage of us. Instead of these people trying to scam us hardworking people out of our money, why don't they get real HONEST jobs. You have a lot of nerve in protecting people such as these. However, you are entitled to your opinion. So, I would like to offer Mr. Don Regal an open invitation to come to my residence and face to face, man to man continue this discussion about how lazy we Americans are. Surely, Mr. Regal, you have no reservations about discussing your comment face to face with a lazy American such as myself. Please accept my open invitation, won't you.

I just got off the phone with Joseph Operator # 2083 and all he did was ask for my debit or credit card number. He continually talked over me when I tried asking about the refund policy in case I was unsatisfied with their service. Then when I asked to please allow me to finish speaking he simply hung up on me. All he wanted was my credit card number so that he could charge me the 199.00 fee that I am sure would never be refunded. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS SCAM!

On another note, to Mr. Don Regal, the idiot who commented that we are all lazy Americans. Mr. Regal we are not lazy, we are just tired of people taking advantage of us. I would also like to offer Mr. Regal an invitation to my home where we could discuss his comment face to face, man to man. Please Mr. Regal, please come talk to this lazy American face to face.!

I am shocked! I was just planning on giving them my money, but my wallet had been recently stolen and I was in the process of getting a replacement card. Something didn't feel right about giving them my money before I was able to check out what company I was dealing with. I can so relate to all of your concerns, and your doubts, and your experiences. I usually don't read reviews, but I am so glad I did today. In my head trying to avoid scams on craigslist, I thought they seemed very professional compared to all the other scams on craigslist. Even though I had pull to get the information out of them like the name of this company, and if this was federally run program, I was still willing to believe them. All I can say to you guys is THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. You have saved me from almost making a big mistake.

I saw the ad on craigslist and it looked like a great opportunity so I called for more information. I asked the representative if he could email me information about he company and was told he couldn't tell me anything without the $199.00 fee. At this point in the conversation, he had still not identified what the company was! All he was interested in was two things: my $199.00 fee and how much money I make a month. When I told him I was not going to make any type of monetary payments without knowing anything about the company or its services, he became very rude and I ended the call just as rudely. Avoid at all cost and do your part by flagging as spam on craigslist every time you see these ### post an ad.

That really sucks, I fell for it too. He asked for the money and I was like, "ummm no, I don't know anything about your company". He was aggressive but fairly polite. Gave me full addresses to look at on Google Earth. If they are a scam, why are they still around? Is there anyone out there that can attest to being helped?

I also called this company. I was told that "Douglas" was State and Federal Regulated. That they were also affiliated with HUD. That for $199 I could get a list of houses in my area, a realtor to show me the houses, the fee covered all paperwork, and that I could be living in my new home within a week. When I asked about the payents to the morgage company, and that I wouldn't have the full rent on the first, he replied that the owners and I could work something out. When I asked about the lawyers fees and the bank fees, I was told that they were all included i with the "rent" along with the insurance and property tax. I asked how long the morgage was for and I was told 30 years. I was also told that there were 11 homes in the township I was looking for. I'm glad my friend looked up the website for me, since I was so elated to have found something that would have worked for me. I am a single mother of 2 children, can't get an apartment due to bad credt, and homeless. I have a job, so paying the rent is not an issue. Whe I saw the ad on Craigslist, I was so excited to actually be able to own a home, my dream come true. I'm glad that she pointed me to this website and I was able to read all these complaints about them! I'm now grateful that I didn't have $199 to spend for a non-exsistant list!

I can't believe, i almost fell for this total ###! I have a bad credit history and this would have been a total godsend for me and my family. Sadly, If I don't find something soon we will be going to a homeless shelter :( How could anyone be so cruel and give false hope to desparate people? I can't find a rental due to a bad landlord that refused to fix anything! --It was all turned around on me and my husband because lack of information on how we could have placed our rent money in escrow until the things were repaired. Please say a prayer for my kids because time is running out and no one will rent to me!

I responded to their ad and spoke with Michael Nash on June 5, 2012. He was well spoken and pleasant, but it sounded too good to be true! Mr. Nash said he would send me a email and I could check it out. BIG MISTAKE! Their internet site only spoke of PREFORECLOSURES and Michael Nash never said a word about preforeclosures! The ad I read stated you could ASSUME a mortgage for a 2-4 bedroom home for as little as $200 to $400 per month and his company had hundreds in the Tulsa, OK area, all over the United States and many properties on islands for your retirement home. He also stated many people buy several properties and rent them out and have HUGE extra income! Does this sound too good to be true? A RESOUNDING YES! He answered my many questions: Does the property have a clear title, no liens, no back taxes, etc. and he assured me that when I found a house, that his company "YOUR AMERICAN STANDARDS ONLINE' would handle everything. Here is their address: The American Standard at 35 West Main St., Suite B #106, Ventura, CA 93001. Phone # [protected] and Michael Nash directly at [protected]. Email: www.americanstandardonline.com. I am 65, single, disabled and if I had not emailed the BBB in Santa Barbara, CA, I too would have been conned out of $199! Truly, we have millions of good honest people with integrity -- do not let any "bad apples" spoil the barrel of the rest of your life. THANK GOD FOR ALL THE BBB'S that provide this information to anyone and at no cost!

WOW-thanks a bunch. im glad that people like to post.
i didn't know anything about this company and its a good thing i looked around to see if anyone else did.

i found it weird, he asked me what i was looking for, so i told him a 3 brm single home in the country w/a lit land to drive our 4wheelers on and so on, you could hear him typing away and then... he describes the house of my dreams for what- no way- under the price range i told him. a sure sell. but you know how the saying goes- if it sounds to good to be true, it probably ain't.
When he got to about, $199 upfront i was like wwwwwaaaiiiiiiiiittttttt just one min.- i need to talk to my husband 1st, he reacted as if he understood, he said oh sure i completely understand, its alright, ill give you my direct number and you can call me back, i will be happy to assist you after you discuss it with him. i felt like ok he sounds confident, hes not trying to sell me something, maybe just maybe everything is going to be ok.
i was almost happy to tell my husband the good news till i found what has been posted. this really opened my eyes i guess you cant con a con right thanks for the heads up and like i say- it is what it is - A SCAM

As much as I hate to say it, I actually gave in to these guys. My wife and I (3 kids, to boot) were in a bad way and we needed housing immediately. We didn't really have much of a choice. I honestly should've checked reviews about this company before hand. I am going to attempt the refund process and see where it gets me. Given most of the complaints on this board, I am willing to bet that I won't get very far.

On 7/2/11 I was scammed as well. I was on the way on a Business Trip, when I called this lying, scamming company, namely, American Standard Online. I do usually check out companies, but, I don't know why I fell for the lying convincing Reps. at American Standard Online, as I was told, "You get a refund if you're not satisified with our service". LIARS! I have contacted the BBB of Santa Barbara, CA ( http://santabarbara.bbb.org/ComplaintSingle.aspx ); American Standard Online does not respond to them either. However, I am looking into getting a Class Action Lawsuit against American Standard Online. I saw something here: http://www.getpayback.com/real-estate/your-american-standards-online-americanstandardonline-com/ - but, I received a mail delivery failed when I tried to contact the email sender. However, I'm still looking to see how I can be part of any Class Action Lawsuit against this scamming American Standard Online "company".

I also just got off the phone with American Standard. I don't remember the mans name. But he didn't offer me much information. I asked him how I went about the process and all he could say was to pay the 199.00 to get registered. I asked well don't I need to come into your office to set this up? He said no you pay online and he didn't offer any website. I had to ask him for the website. So I decided to google it because even the website didn't offer me any real detailed information. If it sounds to good to be true than it usually is. My theory, Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see. Thank you all for your posts or I may have been scammed myself. We should post this website on Craigslist.

I just got off the phone with Mark, operator ID 206, Direct Line [protected]. He made it seem so easy to do, there are over 300 properties to choose from. He gave me a story about him losing his home and his parents losing their home as well. I did not pay the fee because I wanted to check them out first. How are they not out of business yet? They are getting so many people's hopes up, there are so many Americans looking for homes at an affordable rate. Thank everyone for your comments, You saved me $200.00 bucks. Oh and when I told him this seems too good to be true, he responded with, this is really sad, all of these people have to walk away from their $500, 000 homes, so this isnt a good thing at all. Wow, these people are surely gonna get whats coming to them!

I just called this company. There was a very pushy man name Morgan that answered and he spoke extremely fast and did not identify the company. When I asked the name of the company he yelled AMERICAN STANDARD. He asked me if I wanted to register for the program to buy a house and take over a loan before it went into foreclouser. I asked by register do you mean pay $199.00 now? He said you want house don't you. I said yes I do. He said I need to get registered for the website and access the listingsm, so I need to pay the $199.00 He stated I said you can get a refund in 90 days. I said need to think about. He said yes you think about it and call us right back. He was very rude and impatient and put me on alert immediatly. I'm so glad I checked this website. Thanks for the info.

I just talked to these folks on the phone. The pushy lady on the phone barely let me get a word in edge-wise. I asked about the refund policy, she said 90 days, I got the website address out of her & asked where the refund policy was, she didn't respond but I found it in the terms & conditions & there it was - 90 days with 5 rejections from homeowners. Being a homeowner & having worked in the finance industry for the past couple of years I could tell right away when I started talking to the woman about the details of how the business worked that she didn't know what she was talking about. Most of it just sounded like she was just making it up on the fly. I'm glad I found this site before moving forward with paying them $199 for some list.

For those who've lost their money, I would file a dispute with your credit card company stating that this company didn't give you what you paid for. Should be fairly easy to win since they never actually sent you a physical product. Also, for those who are looking for a refund, you might also look at their terms & conditions - I believe it said they would only refund within 90 days, with 5 rejection letters and only when sent a letter by certified mail.

I called today and talked to American Standard Property. No one was rude but they did start trying to sell me on the website for $200 right off. Curious, I called BBB and the F.T.C. to enquire about them. Both places stated that A.S.P. had a rating of "F" and more than 156 complaints filed against them. Most were from not refunding money to individuals that were not satisfied with their service. Don't think this is the route for me to be taking to acquire a house!

Im a victim of this american standard online, i paid $199 with my credit card and spoke to Agent Will Reynolds, he told me that his Ext # is 1153 and he said his office is open M-F 1-9pm. He told me to call the same number i called and dial that ext when im ready, now I just called and another lady named Tony answered and she sounds like a drunk lady. And when i called Customer service this morning, they told me that i need to send a letter to get my refund back. The reason I fell from this scam is that we are currently experiencing a really bad situation at our current place, Couple of strangers jumped over our wall, and our neighbor got robbed, and so is our neighbor. I cant believe that ill be robbed here online. I wanted to do something to get my money back, i hope someone can help me, or tell me what to do. That $199 is a big loss for me.

I found an ad in the paper for these guys, and like u all said, it sounds too good to be true. The lady I spoke to didn't make mention and didn't pressure me about giving her money, but she wanted me to give her money before I looked at the web site. So I was like, well when I'm ready to do it, I will call u back. She gave me no trouble at all really. But after I got off the phone, I said to my sister, "yup we're googling their ###. lol" And sure enuf this is what I came up with. Pretty much any company that wants money up front, is a scam. I almost, ALMOST learned that the hard way. She also mentioned that there were 300 homes or something within a 10 mile radius of me. I drive all over my area, and I dont see that many for sale signs neways, so I knew as soon as she said that she was full of crap; started drilling her with Questions and I thought it was a scam. They also have other ads in the paper..just words are turned around and the number is different, but when u call it, there's that lady that says, thank u for calling us, a representative will be with u shortly. Same voice...so yes, STEER CLEAR!
