We purchase the Yardworks 24V / 20" 3-in-1 Cordless Lawn Mower less than a year ago at the Canadian Tire Store on Shaganappi and now both the store and the customer service department tell us that even though they carry a dethatcher blade for just about every other kind of mower there is, they don't carry the blades for the mowers that they sell. If you buy a new mower at RONA or Home Depot, Canadian Tire will provide you with a proper fitting dethatcher blade for it but not if you buy a lawn mower that Canadian Tire! Go figure!

The Canadian Tire Store where we purchased this expensive lawn mower an customer service at Canadian Tire head office both say " That is the way that it is, too bad!" They tell us that we need to contact Yardworks even though Yardworks was not the company that sold us the mower!

Stay away from Canadian Tire as you are seeing more and more and more complaints about them on the web because they care about nothing or no one other than their deep pockets!

Shop at RONA or Home Depot and get treated right!

I bought a Yardworks Cordless Compact lawn mower just two years ago, then the 24V charger broke. The Customer Care of Canadian Tire don't care about telling me how to replace it, just to tell me to call Yardworks. I've searched on Google, found nothing about the manufacturer of Yardworks. Where can I find information for replacing my charger?

CTC gave me the # above.I had poor life out of the battery, they sent me a new set. The old charger wouldn't charge the new bat. so they sent a new charger. That didn't work either. Having worked all my career in Electronics repair and since the cover comes off to change the batteries I got out my voltmeter and traced the charging system wiring. There is a fuse in the charge circuit. In my mower, the fuse was making poor contact in the holder.I cleaned it up and the mower has more power than ever before. So if your mower is not charging or holding a charge check the fuse. This is a light duty machine, I just broke the handle where it snaps onto the mower body. Aside from the delays, they sent me the batteries and charger no cost /under warranty

The actual phone number is [protected]...i have a charger that is nfg...they were courteous and are sending me a new one no questions asked...as for being a tool, i doubt you are, as none of us has the time to research replacement parts for everything we ever buy, sometimes you just have to have faith in the products you buy...and why would you sharpen a dethatcher blade? i used to work in landscaping and trust me, don't put a dethatcher blade on your mower... 1. it voids the warranty on your mower, (read it, you'll see) and 2. they do a terrible job...go to home depot, spend $25 and rent a power rake...it does a fantastic job and you don't have to spend an hour changing blades. If you are really hellbent on buying a dethatching blade, most universal will fit, but beware, a 24v mower may not be able to push it through your grass anyway-which is perhaps why they don't make it readily available... also, yardworks has had problems with chargers, so it may be the charger which is causing you problems and shortening your battery life...there has been a recall on 24v chargers, so call them to see if yours is affected...hope this helps

I tried the number. The response was, " the number you has a new directory assistance number. That number is 1014578#. Don't bother calling it. it's a dead end. Any other suggestions? I am concerned with how poor the battery is.Following the instructions to a T, 1 lasted less just beyond the warrantee (don't leave them in the garage all winter, charged or otherwise) and the other is dying. I bought it in may of this year and it already provides less that 20 minutes of use with a full charge using one a week.

So, you are looking for a dethatcher blade and cannot find on for your mower? Doesn't make sense, as these dethatcher blades are usually Universal. For instance a 20" mower takes a universal 20" ddethatcher blade.

I used to have a business where we sold and repaired gas and electric mowers, so I know this to be true.

I will admit that the universal dethatcher blade for a 20" mower isn't perfect as it only fits about 98 or 99% of the machines out there, and Yardworks is one that it does fit.

So either you didn't do that much research or you had a really crappy person helping you at Canadian Tire.

I'll try the numbers given; I don't know why, but I feel that after these conversations my butt will hurt...

My buddy hit a steel peg with his 24v 3-in-1 mower, and I took it apart to find that the impact shattered the magnets (sintered). Getting replacements could indeed be an expensive ordeal...

Guys

It doesnt matter where you buy from, you have to go to the manufacturer. You should always replace parts with genuine replacement parts from the manufacturer, and Yardworks has always come through for me. So, I suggest you call them at:

[protected]

And no, I am not a Yardworks representative, just a lowly satisfied customer...

Calling someone a name is not going to solve any problems, as a matter of fact, it will not bring yardworks up on the web. Try to find them, I dare you. I have been searching for a replacement part (charger) for about 3 hours. No way you can find it or yardworks on the web. If you are out of warranty, CT will steer you to yardworks customer service phone number, which also brings you to a dead end. Unless you can come up with a link to yardworks, or provide something else positive, keep your flaming to yourself.

Ur a tool. Here is why ladies and gents. First of all you bought it why didn't you do research to make sure that replacement parts are available at your every whim. Next why don't you just get it sharpened? Ahhh because you do not know a thing about anything mechanical or electrical. What a waste to throw a blade out every year when it will last five. Finally if you are to damn lazy to pick up a phone and call for a replacement blade that you don't really need then well you are just sad. Plus maybe yard works wont let CT carry there parts because they want to keep them as a OEM part only so they keep lots of profits? didn't think about that either because you have no idea how retail works.
