Xoom Fraud

Xoom is working with a group who is committing fraud in the
Philippines. I was solicited to buy a product that turned out to be a fraud and
they use Xoom for the transaction. I asked Xoom for assistance they refuse to
help mean in any fashion which led me to believe that they were involved in the
fraud. I sent countless emails and request and they will not provide any information
to help me investigate the details of this activity. I firmly believe that zoom
is involved directly with the fraud and I would not recommend anybody using
this company and trust me if something should happen to your funds you will not
get it back and Xoom will not protect you.

Customer care people do not even have an idea what they are trying to speak. They are not even caring the people. they easily lose their temper.

Bad bank experience . People don't waste your time by using XOOM Money transfer. They are waste. They are not even helping to the case number / problem occurred.

Worst experience i am having. I do not even no how many more days it take to close my case number.

Xoom did not inform me during my online transaction that they have no door-to-door delivery in the area that I selected where my funds will be sent and it took so long for my recipients to receive the money.

I sent money to dominican republic and it was late by more than one day after a promise of three hours and when finally it was delivered it was like 20 pesos less. The delivery person said they did not have exact change . I do not recoment xoom for this poor service

Xoom Fraud promise

I did sent money to Canada. 6 days past. Money still not deposited to the Canadian bank.
Routing and bank account numbers are correct. They just keep on telling Canada take longer time.. They did not explain that while making the transaction. I am here in the US.. There is no excuse if they are good company.. Don't ever use Xoom.com if I were you guys.. If you are in a hurry don't ever ever use them.

Xoom Money

After using XOOM for years to send money to friends in the Philippines I was told my account was cancelled because I broke their rules by sending "DONATIONS"! I am not sending donations I am sending some friends money from my Ministry! I receive donations from people in the USA to HELP others around the world with my ministry. I would like to be reinstated and continue to use XOOM to send money to those in need and see no problems in doing this as I Am PAYING XOOM to do this for me!I am saddened and fairly insulted by these actions Xoom has taken and feel SLANDERED that I would do anything to break their "rules"!

Xoom Beware of unanticipated fees

I used to think Xoom was an amazing service - at least up until I had my first experience with them.

I transferred $2999 to my family outside the US using Xoom on March 19, 2014. The transaction ID was: X061xxxxxxxx3230.

The good news is that the money did transfer in a timely manner.

Bad news is that I got hit by unanticipated fees.

Now for the details:

At the time of the transaction I used a Xoom coupon (code: MARCHALONG) that advised me that there would be no charge regardless of whether I use a Credit card or my bank account to fund the transaction. Further, I was not made aware in advance that using the credit card to fund the transaction would cause the transaction to be seen as a "Cash Advance".

I completed the transaction in good faith with the understanding that there would be no charge.

Unfortunately, I was subsequently hit by a $89.97 credit card transaction fees.

I reached out to xoom to resolve the situation (potentially canceling the credit card transaction and using my bank account to fund the transaction), but their customer service was curt and said they could do nothing about it since the transaction was completed. I also reached out to my credit card company and they advised me that the best recourse was to have xoom cancel the transaction and fund it by my bank account. However, given Xoom is unable to do so, I'm left with no choice but to complain here.

I feel xoom could have done better by intimating me in advance of the transaction that this transaction would be seen as a "Cash advance" and that I would be hit by a CC transaction fees. Given they didn't do so and I placed the transaction in good faith, I got hit by the fees that I didn't anticipate coming.

Xoom Delay, poor customer service

I sent money thru xoom.com on march 6, until now, 4 days into the transaction, it hasn't arrived to it's recipient yet. I spoke w / 2 different customer service agents & both gave me the usual customary answer: there partners in the philippines are experiencing a technical problem, and it has been 4 days! Whatever technical problem is that that can't be fixed? I used xoom.com bec it is supposedly a faster service, but now, i am switching services. Poor customer service! Money sent hasn't arrived to its destination in the philippines. I will continue to spread amongst my friends & online how terrible xoom.com is! Sorry, you just lost another customer.

Xoom transaction charged even after cancellation

Hello There,

I am very upset with the Xoom customer service and specially with your transaction cancellation process. I have made two transaction last week on 12/22/2012 on 11:17pm and 11:21pm for an amount of $147 and $149.99 respectively.

Here are the transaction ID: X061841740709466 & X061800373188626

To do the transfer i used the wrong bank account and also informed the same to a customer service agent by name Karen Mae Sapaden about it at 11:23pm to report the same. So as per my conversation with the CSR, she said the request has been submitted and confirmation will be sent by email.

Today 12/26/2012, i have seen the transactions worth $147 & 149.99 on my account even after cancellation request which in turn resulted in -$70 service charge because of insufficient funds caused by unwanted transaction by xoom. When i called the customer service with the above concern they just say that i am responsible for all the transactions including $147, $149.99 and -$70.

This has been a very unfair business practice by Xoom and even after my immediate proactive request to cancel my transaction they still processed the transaction without my consent.

No company can cancel a transfer from your bank account to them that you initiated. You used the wrong account by accident - you are responsible. It's not the energy company's fault.

Xoom User Agreement

I have been sending money using Xoom.com starting this year. I've been pretty impressed with how fast it works. I've received $55 for the Manny Pacquiao fight when I did my first transfer. I have already sent money to the Philippines for almost 20 times afterwards. I've even referred it a friend. I've received a $25e-gift card from Walmart.

My problem occur when my Dad was trying to send using his original Xoom.com account. He wasn't able to to log in because he forgot his password. He then click the forgot password but can't proceed with how to change his password. He then created a new xoom.account using different e-mail. He tried using the new account and send money to the Philippines. He can't proceed with the transfer and been receiving a message " that he can't use the account since another person is associated with the account." Thinking that this stemmed from 2 different accounts, he then called xoom.com customer service. He first inquired about why he can't proceed with the forgot password. He said he was using a MAC laptop. The customer service agent said that there might be problem because it's a MAC since they've received complaints for MAC users. The only resort then is to delete the original account. He requested to have the old account deleted or deactivated so he can use the new account with new bank details to be supplied. But when he was trying to use his new account he's been receiving the same message even after the original account was deactivated. He tried for 5 times. The sixth time a different message occur. It says that that there might be other issues so we can proceed with the transfer.

Thinking that the he really can make a transfer. He asked me the following week to send money using my xoom.com account. I did, and was able to send money successfully. After 3 banking days my Dad checked his bank account was debited $754.99. I checked my account and nothing yet was debited. We were shocked. We thought that mine is pending to be debited from my account but he was also debited. We then called xoom.com and for 6 different calls we were able to trace the problem. At first they can't seem to find what transpired but for the 5th call, it appears that for whatever magical reason my xoom.com was used but my Dad's bank account was the one debited. A case of mismatch bank account and xoom.com account.

We thought that this was a big problem. Customers need to have security. A transaction can not just be sent if the accounts are not matching. We demand an answer. Setting aside the idea why and how the transaction happened. We just wanted to know why xoom.com system allowed such a transaction. What if others just use another bank and send it to someone. The recipient already received the money and after 3 days the bank account holder is to be deducted. It's too late because another person already took the money. On that premise we wanted to know that their system was safe. But we were shocked upon knowing that it's not included in the user agreement. The user agreement doesn't stipulate that it's prohibited that bank accounts should match xoom.com account.

We just want safety for the senders and it seems if there are people there who wants to cash in they can easily do so by using xoom.com and run away with as much as $2, 999. And the poor bank account holder will be debited or atleast an overdraft if there is no sufficient funds.

So dissatisfied my initial reaction is to switch to trans-fast.com. I haven't tried it but when I call the customer service they told me that in their user agreement, bank accounts should always match transfast account name. They even wait for 3 days for the first transfer to double check the bank account holder.

I may need to use transfast going forward. Nevermind the 3 days wait for the first transfer. Succeeding transfer should be also be in seconds or minutes just like xoom.com. Atleast my bank account is protected and secured.

Xoom NOT the least expensive/Rude customer service

Go to viamericas.com for the lowest cost provider with friendlier service. Compare and see for yourself.

I offer this rec. because of the terrible experience I had with these people. If you try to minimize fees by sending larger amounts they close your account. Why? Because they prey on the poor slobs who send small amounts and thus they can charge more fees. Plus the customer service is rude and arrogant.

The best way to retaliate is to cost them business. Spread the word if we want to make a difference.

Xoom money transfer

Not the best customer service and please note they don't allow commercial transaction which is BS. No one contacted us informing the money transfer is on hold unless if you call them. They asked bunch of questions like how you related to the recipient and reason you send money. This is not the first bad experience with them thought I give them a second chance but still UNHAPPY and went to different company which is more reliable especially if it is urgent.

Xoom.com charges for every single transaction which of course its fair. However their exchange rate is usually 60 to 70 pesos less that the official exchange rate ( I send money to Colombia) which mean that they kept a percentage over the amount that you sent plus their charge per transaction and like if they were just having so much fun with costumers their TV adds show a pig that its traumatized because of companies like them. SHAME for XOOM.

Xoom Closed my account for no reason

I had a Xoom account that I used to send money to personal acquaintences in The Phillipines. Saturday I tried to use the account and it was not accepting my password. When I called customer service, they told me that I violated the terms of service (a totally outrageous lie), but they cannot tell me what term I violated. They then told me I would be getting an email explaining it. Today I got the email, which said that they decided to close my account because of their boldfaced lie that I somehow violated the terms of service. The emial did not say what that term was (not surprising since their cliam is a total lie), and it also said that there was no further information, no appeal, and any email to them will be unanswered.

Who the hell do these high and mighty worthless pieces of garbage think they are? Who appointed them as God? To cancel the account of an innocent consumer based on total lies and then hide behind a wall of silence? Where did they learn banking, North Korea? Or was it Nazi Germany?

Do not do business with Xoom. If you have an account, cancel it now.

They did the same to me. I submitted all that they asked for and instead I received a cancellation notice. I discovered that they cancel accounts when senders try to send larger amounts. They prefer small remittances where they can charge more fees.

GOOD NEWS: Go to viamericas.com for the most cost effective and professional remittance org.

Xoom Service

Earlier in 2012 I frequently used Xoom.com to send small amounts of money to friends and family in Philippines, but then one day I was locked out of my Xoom account and was notified by Xoom Customer Review that I was violating the terms of agreement. I asked them how was I doing that as I was simply wiring money to friends and family, but they could not answer me. They just said it seems my reasons for sending money were wrong. I think they assumed I was paying for online webcam services just because I sent small amounts to different persons in the Philippines. I explained I was sending money to help friends and family for whatever reasons as is normally done in life, but that wasn't good enough for Xoom. They told me to seek other ways to send money. After months of not using them I needed to send money to my wife stuck at the Naval base in Biliran so I tried to wire 100USD via Xoom to help her out, but Xoom refused. I finally used Western Union with no problem. Xoom absolutely SUCKS! In this day of desperate business conditions they should not turn away customers but they sure do. May they go bankrupt and disappear! I will not shed a tear!

Xoom Not reliable

First time user of Xoom service. Initiated a transfer on Friday evening and on Sat morning the transaction still didn't complete. Called customer service several times and they weren't very helpful in providing status or making an effort to complete the transaction. Eventually, I lost confidence in Xoom ability to complete this transfer and cancelled the transaction. I went to Western Union to make the money transfer and that completed immediately. The Western Union fee was higher, but the exchange rate was better than Xoom.

In summary, Xoom did not perform as advertised and based on my experience I would caution others using their service if your money transfer requirements are immediate.

Wow, too many complaints on this company, I have not used Xoom ever and based on these problems and complaints will never use them. I never had a problem with moneygram from walmart and they charge $9 for international.

Xoom Very bad customer service

I had raised a request to Xoom (a service provider which provides money transfer services from United States to India) for increasing my transfer limit. To my surprise, the request got denied. I called up their compliance department to check the reason why this happened. The customer service officials are very very rude in answering the questions and were shouting on me

They told their corporate office denied it because my income didn't match the eligibility to increase my transfer limit. That's absolutely fine and I understand that. I was trying to explain her that one of my friends got it approved, when the official started yelling literally "You can't compare yourself with others". Its a simple answer "You do not get qualified because your earnings are not sufficient to increase your transfer limit". It is that simple. The first representative who spoke to me was too rude. She hung up on me and also never let me talk. I told her "If I had known the customer service would be so rude, I would not have opened an account with Xoom". She was asking me if I wish to close my account and she could do it right away

WHAT THE HELL? BECAUSE A CUSTOMER HAS A CONCERN, YOU WOULD JUST LET THAT PERSON WALK AWAY DISSATISFIED?

The second one was equally rude. At one extent, I got pissed off and told her to stop and let me talk. Then, when I finished asking my questions, there was no answer from the other end. I thought even she hung up on me and said "Hello" for couple of times. You know what her answer was? "Sir, why do you keep saying hello hello? You don't want me to talk. Shall I answer your question now?". Is this the way to talk to a person?

Xoom customer service sucks. The service officials are arrogant and rude. I was totally disappointed. I would never recommend it to anyone. I am looking for other vendors who offer service

Xoom Refer a friend program is hoax

They are still advertising to get customers trapped on it HOAX offer of getting $25 on xoom refer a friend program. Guys this is second complaint against this scam company and scam offer. They just wanna get your referrals and make money off of it without paying you [censored]tt! They are advertising everywhere for paying a referral fee which they are not and wanna get a free referral customers off of you and make money out of it without paying ### to you!BEWARE! guys and please dont recommend your relatives or friends to this scammers or else they'd curse you. The reason I am stating this is because I have been victimised!Sorry guys if I have used any foul language but I can't help it. I have did everything which I could to get this money in my account as well as my referral account but no luck!reading this complaint if you still wanna try it that well let me tell you this good luck! I received my reward after putting the above statement on complaint boards. I could not have wasted my time in emailing you guys to get my referral reward. It took so long that I could not wait any longer and had to take this step of commenting it here. As per the transaction, my first referral had finished their transaction long time ago, around 4 months and it took so long to remit that referral reward to me. Just a piece of advice if you feel comfortable considering it, is to make that process faster and make customers happy, that in return benefits Xoom.com to get more people via this offer!

Xoom Referral bonus Scammmm

I've watched the commercial on TV saying that when you refer a friend and if he completes his first transaction to anywhere in the world, the referee and referral both gets $25 gift card of your choice as selected on the website. More than two of my friends used and have been using a service and did more than one transaction, but, Neither me nor My friend got $25 gift card. Contacted customer service at least 3 to 4 times but, only got one answer every time "You will get the bonus after first month of your friends first transaction" High level scam stay away from it. It is a waste of time. SCAMMERS! Just wanna get customers free of cost with your help. So please listen to my advice and stay away from it.

Just want to add my point here.. so far, I have referred many of my friend through my referral link or through website @ http://xoomcoupon.blogspot.com/ and never had issue. Me and my friend always got $25 as reward. There could be a problem with browser cache. in case if you have a xoom.com session already opened and then you click on your friend link.. in that case some time it did not work. I really loved xoom.com.. a always happy customer !

Totally agree...I was referred by one of my friends and did a Transaction. Did receive a mail form Xoom saying that both parties would be getting $25 within the next 12 days! Kept waiting until today, contacted customer care and they told that their system is not showing the referral...bloody scammers!

I am also facing the same issue. Infact my friends also made the first transaction. Guys Please stay away from these scammers. It is just waste of your time. I called the xoom customer care, they opened a case but havn't anything from so long.

Xoom Manny pacquiao promotions

The attached website says that if we send $50 to the philippines by nov. 12, 2011, we will be able to get a $50 debit card in essence, we get the fight for free. Further it said that an email will be sent between nov. 12 thru dec. 5. We talked to two ladies (Sheila is one of them) and the supervisor is carlo and said the website is no longer active and it is unfortunate that we lost the $50. 00. This is bad advertising and should not be tolerated. They claim that the email was sent on nov. 15. We never received this email. It is the principle that counts. $50 is $50. This is very bad business. It appears that xoom is guilty of promoting the pacquiao fight just to get more customers to send money but they never deliver what they promised & misleading the public. I will file a complaint with the federal trade commission and better business bureau.

same thing here. i've received three emails from xoom customer service advising me to monitor my email within the next fifteen days. first email as way back after the fight, second email was on july 23rd when i inquired about it and today august 20th when i again inquired about it. what is sad is the emails are coming from filipino workers who appears to be in the scheme. $50 dollars i not a big deal, it's the fact they used filipinos and manny pacqiuao fights to promote their service (which have a small fee but the they are ripping you off on the exchange rate which is always one peso less than the current exchange). i would suggest those who have been promised this promotion to write to abs-cbm customer service and let them know that their network is being used by xoom.com on false advertising.

this company is a con, and it is starting to pissed me off every time i see their commercials when i am enjoying my tfc programs.

we also have the same problem. my bro. in law never got his $50 as promised by xoom.com... my bro. in law is still waiting for the 2nd email from xoom.com but they never sent anything. he needs his $50... xoom.com is a hoax...
