Found this breeder of GSP puppies on AKC site. I was looking for a dog for show and to possible eventually breed. Her AKC marketplace advertisement said she complied with AKC rules for breeders...this is not true. When I spoke with the breeder, Chelsa, I was told one thing i.e.: I could meet the mom, see the litter and be on site. When it came time to pick up my pup, that all changed and we were then meeting off site in dark parking lot. No mom, but she did bring a couple of the other pups.

I was told the pups were healthy. That the AKC registered parents were healthy. Since I brought my pup home it has been one issue after the other. The next day after bringing the pup home we took her to the vet and were told
1) tail doc too short for GSP and was done poorly so the tip of the tail will be bald, fur will not grow
2) dew claw done incorrectly leaving bone in and also bald spot of fur.
3) hernia
4) she had soft stool/diarrhea - breeder told us that we were the only one in the litter with that issue and it was because of food change. Turns out both those statements were false. There was a medical issue that needed treatment. We just found out other puppies in the litter had the same issue and breeder knew about all of them.
5) Constant urinary track infection since day 1. Some tests were negative from the vet, which he expected to be negative due to puppies age, we treated on antibiotics twice and finally had some relief.
6) Now at 5 months of age we noticed hair missing from her cheek - now we find out that she has Demodectic Mange. My vet said our pup is not allowed to be bred now. High quality dogs should not be bred if they have Demodectic Mange. We hope the hair on her cheek will grow back. The only way a pup gets this is from her parents. The parents have been bred several times, so they know darn well that their dogs have this or that their litters have had this, yet they continue to breed.

I spoke with other adoptive parents from this litter and turns out they all got the same bait and switch from this breeder girl. I regret buying from this girl. I do love my puppy and she will be a great family pet and we pray we don't have more health issues. We paid $850 for her including breeding rights (others paid $1000). We paid WAY to much for an unhealthy dog. There are great GSP breeders out there with high quality dogs for the same price.
