I got a call from a representative of websitebusiness.com..don't know where he got my phone number.
He started giving me his sales pitch about how I could make a nice steady income working at home, writing articles on the Internet. They would "give" me a website..take care of all the details Ya-da-ya-da
All I needed to do was whip out my credit card and pay $199.
I told him I didn't have $199 available, so he said I should "put my trust in him" and he would only submit a charge of $1.99 to my account to get me into the program. I was reluctant and hesitant to say the least, but he just kept on and on for over 30 minutes... VERY HIGH PRESSURE TACTICS. So reluctantly (and stupidly) I gave him my cc # . After doing some research I found that this co. has an F rating with the BBB in Arizona, and MANY complaints on the Internet. I knew I'd made a very bad decision. I called the next day to opt out of the program and was again badgered and coerced, and told I HAD to use their system for 90 days before I could cancel. Only then would my money be refunded. Since I had only been charged $1.99 up to this point I called my bank and reported the problem, so that these scammers wouldn't try to withdraw the rest of the $199 fee.I had to have my card blocked and a new card issued. BOTTOM LINE DON'T TRUST THESE HIGH PRESSURE SALES TECHNIQUES.
