www.TvBoxSet.com Internet fraud!

I am one of the hundreds of people ripped off by www.tvboxset.com, AKA Garcia Media Group, AKA SXR.CA. On August 3rd, 2007, I placed an order with said company for a Wonder Years DVD box set (Order #24534). They immediately charged my credit card $71.98. I of course NEVER received the item despite several emails. The charge showed up on our credit card as "sxr.ca". When I did a domain search on this company, I found the following:

Mr Pietro Paolo D'Ascanio ([protected]@sxr.ca)
President
SXR Tradeshow & Conference Solutions Inc.
4480 Cote De Liesse
Suite 303
Mont Royal QC H4N 2R1 Canada
Phone: [protected]
Fax: [protected]

When I called and spoke with this guy, he said yes he made the charge but they are only the "processing agent" for tvboxset.com. But he is a liar. For one, the fax number for his company is the SAME as tvboxset.com's old phone number (the company and their web site are defunct as of December, 2007). For another there is a listed contact email of [protected]@sxr.ca. I called and spoke with D'Ascanio again a couple of weeks ago and after a heated exchange he screamed "The money's gone! All of it!" Hmmm. I wonder where it could be? Maybe in the ### bank account--where it went after it was fraudulently charged from my credit card.

Maybe somebody with more time and resources than I have can go after this clown. I see from /link removed/ complaints.com, complaintsboard.com, badbusinessbureau.com, www.epinions.com, etc. that hundreds of other people have been ripped off by this guy so the monetary claim would be quite substantial (/link removed/ alone has over 185 claims in against these guys!).

Be aware that these guys are professional scam artists. Meaning that after one site is shut down, they launch a new one with the SAME content (down to the products offered, FAQ's, and product descriptions) and a different domain name. I found a complaint site that listed a few of them (most if not all are now defunct) 1. DVDcollections.tv; 2. Allmyfavoriteshows.com; 3. TVboxset.com; 4. E-mediastore.tv; 5. RareDVDs.tv; 6. DvdAvenue.tv; 7. EmpericalFilm.tv; 8. InternationalFilm.tv; 9. AmericanDVD.tv; 10. MyMediaOutlet.net; 11. dvdigniter.com; 12. tvdvdplanet.com; 13. tvaddicts.tv; 14. dvdtvweb.com; 15. ultimatedvdshop.com; 16. Dvdcraze.tv; 17. TVDVDMania.tv; 18. dvddiesel.com; 19. tvmilk.com; 20. tvshowplanet.net; 21. tvseries.tv; 22. tvondisc.com; 24. dvdcollectors.com; 25. www.thedvdplanet.org
26. www.dvdcollections.tv

As complaints accumulate, they abandon their old web sites and reopen under new names. As far as I know, the most recent site www.dvdcollections.tv is still active. By way of example, if you do a way back search for TVboxset.com and compare (for example) the FAQ's page with this page:
www.dvdcollections.tv/pages.php?pageid=1, they are exactly the same.

They offer television series box sets that are not commercially available, which seems to be the perfect lead in to their scam. Since you can't "legitimately" buy products (such as The Wonder Years series) elsewhere, you are thrilled to find a site that offers what you are looking for so there is no competition. So you are even willing to give your credit card information to am online company that is not well known (that offers buyer protection) like Ebay or Amazon. Too good to be true... and of course it is.

Maybe if enough people call Mr. Pietro Paolo D'Ascanio (or email to [protected]@sxr.ca and cc to [protected]@tvboxset.com and [protected]@sxr.ca) at [protected] he will at least have to change his phone number (this is his personal cell phone number!) Fraud!

www.TvBoxSet.com Undelivered order!

On July 17, 2007 I answered a Google ad from tvboxset.com and ordered a dvd set of the old tv show "Remember WENN." The company immediately charged my credit card (since paid for) and said they were sending the product. One month later on August 17 the company said there were problems with their shipping department and were resending the dvd set. To date I have not received the dvd/s and the company will not respond to my e-mails requesting a refund.

The company also operates under the names SXR.CA, GARCIA MEDIA GROUP, THE MEDIA DEPOT, etc. Under any name they are a scam outfit and I've registered complaints with Google (for accepting their ad), my credit card company, the Canadian Better Business Bureau and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

How I wish I had searched this company before placing an order!

- Louis Harrison

Well, at least I got my order. But I didn't get the DVD boxes, just discs in plastic wallets and they show ("DYNASTY") were made up from old TV recordings with bad picture and sound quality.

Pretty much the same story with me. Ordered 2 copies of China Beach and had the money stolen very promptly by this sham company. Got a dispatch notice, but after that, no dvd's and no response to emails. I'm also not going to use Google anymore to find stuff like this. Reckon i'm better off sticking with established vendors!

I TOO WAS TAKEN BUY THIS COMPANY (US$100.00) "TVBOXSET.COM". I DID INFACT RECIEVE MY ORDER ONLY TO LEARN IT IS "ALL" PIRATED COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL FROM CARTOON NETWORK AND OTHER TELEVISION STATION CHANNELS AND SOME OF EPISODES ON THE DISCS DO NOT EVEN WORK. I BOUGHT THE SMURFS 431 EPISODES DVD BOX SET. I WAS ABLE TO GET REFUNDED THRU MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY. APARENTLY TVBOXSET.COM HAD ALL OF THEIR ACCOUNTS FROZEN. I MYSELF REPORTED THEM TO NUMEROUS PLACES, ONE OF THEM BEING THE INTERNET CRIME PREVENTION( U.S.GOVERNMENT WEBSITE http://www.ic3.gov/ ) AND SHORTLY AFTER IS WHEN THEIR ASSESTS/BANK ACCOUNTS WERE FROZEN.

USE THIS SITE TO REPORT INTERNET CRIMES/SCAMS: http://www.ic3.gov/

I also ordered a box set dvd from TVBOXSET.COM a bogus company, in June 2007, never received products or refund.

They first said the shipment was delayed because of new shipment regulation changes from Canada then it was shipment error by Canadapost. Next it was empty promises to send my product only to delay me from filing a dispute with my credit card company. They know you only have a certain amount of time to dispute a charge made on your credit card account. Well my time has expired and they know this.

Therefore they are telling me now the only way I can get a refund is thru my credit card company. I have since been in contact with a trust worthy dvd vender, and they told me the product I ordered has never been available to purchase on dvd. TVBOXSET.COM is a complete scam. They also go by other websites. This should be a criminal offence. Be careful.

Same story here also...placed an order on the 21 June 07 and to date nothing has arrived. The same as everyone else I have e-mailed them repeatedly over and over and no responce and even phone calls have made no difference.

I am going to open a dispute with my credit card company to see where that will take me it's a lot of money to let go.

Same story from my side, I am from UK and wanted to get hold of some Animes, in the UK the release date was Christmas:):) (what an irony) so I decided to purchase from TVBOXSET.COM as it was one of the first websites that came up from google.co.uk and it was close to my birthday:):) so I wanted a ncie present.

Same issue, they told me that the DVD’s would arrive in few days… nothing, got a postage date 1 month later… again nothing. I e-mailed them again and again and again and again… Went to website and was met by the same message. I decided to google them and ended up here and a few other sites where people have complained.

I called AMEX and opened a dispute. I now have to forward the e-mails send by myself and by them to AMEX. I will also make sure to point them to this link.
