Freelancer.com milestone

October 13, 2015 ticket = nfj-[protected] joined for the 1st time, wanted to simply see what it's all about. 1st impression was.. hey, you can get anything done without risk using our milestone deposit and get the money back if you decide not to hire the freelancer. = you made a hire me offer to xxxxxxxx but they are unable to accept your project: = oh they are slick, tried to withdraw funds of $150 and to cancel the project as a $5 fee. ok, so I loose $5 and get my $145 back - right? please verify your account, your 77% done. already had my cc verified and they wanted paypal and more.. I canceled the cc verification, reported the fraud to my cc and bank. nothing from them too, except they offered to send new cc card. interesting enough I checked my bank and no withdraw. I filed the ticket and guess what? no reply, but they tapped my bank for $153 so they can't count either. = thanks for getting in touch. just letting you know we have received your inquiry and our support team will get back to you in a few days. for your reference, here are the details of your ticket: ticket id: nfj-[protected] subject: withdraw funds department: general status: open = they are in australia - maybe, who knows the truth. stay away from them.. far away. you get what you pay for and in my case I ordered nothing and loss $153

Freelancer.com dishonesty when it comes to money issue

I am not someone who like to post reviews around, but freelancer.com did something that really upset me. I signed up with freelancer.com long ago, back when they were still getafreelancer.com. For years things had been great, I am an employer who used the website to connect with freelancers. I had a 5-star profile, that is, all freelancers who worked with me in the past gave high remarks. I never leave anyone unpaid, whether the projects turn out to be good or bad. It all started few months ago when I uploaded some funds to my account (via credit card), freelancer.com payment system charged me several times for that one deposit. I contacted their support and they keep escalating the issues without giving me a proper response. It seems like they are just not interested to solve it. After a while I got fed up with them and went to my bank to reverse the transactions. I thought it all worked out. It is common sense that if I made a deposit of $30, and you ridiculously charged me several times up to $150, I would had to reverse the $120 transaction. But freelancer.com doesn't think so. Once the bank made the chargebacks they limit my account and asked me for verification (i.e. sending personal documents). I told them it wasn't my fault that they made several unauthorized charges on my card and the bank reversed the transactions for me. With an experience like that, can I still trust them with my personal info? Their accountants or finance staff should liaise with me when I first contacted them, but no, I didn't receive any helpful response.I suggest they run through their accounting statement, by which they would find they had charged me for the same thing multiple times. But no, they refused to hear what I have to say, and they soon suspended my account, that means taking all the remaining money in it. It doesn't matter that you took my money, I will forget it in a while. But I will post reviews on here and other websites so everyone can read it for a long time. If your company's credibility is affected, it is karma for what you did. I had been a good customer and never cause any problems for you all these years but then you brought this on me. Today you lost me forever, keep doing such business practices and tomorrow you may lose everyone else. To everyone reading this, I do not recommend you use freelancer.com, they used to be good but this is no longer the case. Nowadays there are so many issues of financial dishonesty towards their users. Yes they may be a public listed company, but that doesn't matter if on the ground they treat people like you and me badly, and that somehow our money in their system may 'disappear'. Stay away, there are many better alternatives to go for.

Freelancer is going through bad phase, they have taken away all of recent milestone payments (from employers and users), both have been cheated equally.
it may be just a matter of time they are going bankrupt.

Freelancer.com the big scam

- Freelancer.com - the BIG SCAM - This video shows how Freelancer.com will smoke away your money - be careful with this site -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eESrvA6daG8

i will try to explain briefly what happened to me, and 3 simple reasons why freelancer is scam

what happened to me was that my account was in good standing, i had 13 projects with different clients and my rating was 5 stars, i didn't do anything wrong, i didn't breach any freelancer policy in any way, but one of my previous clients did, i don't know what he did, but his account was closed, and Freelancer ended up taking all the money i eraned from that client, they waited till i got paid for a different work to take away my money, the total amount the closed account client paid me, it was $220 USD this money was gone

do you think that's fair?
even if did nothing wrong

even if Freelancer manage to get that money back to the client, which is stupid and unfair for freelancers, THE REAL SCAM IS Freelancer already took 15% of that transactions, in the fees, that's 22 dollars, for a total of $242 USD plus the 5% of the client, i guess Freelancer make a lot of money that way that's reason #1 freelancer is a scam,

then what happens if Freelancer cant return the money to the client, do they give it to charity? i am pretty sure they may keep it

#2 tons of stories you can read on the web of people getting their accounts closed without notice, accounts even with thousands of dollars, all that money gone, their account verification is extremely hard to pass, and this triggers after you have serious cash from a recent payment

#3 Freelancer claims to have almost 17 million users now, but with only 13 works i was rated 3681, even after months of not using the account i was rated on the top 5000, this means most of the accounts are from people that already left, or fake accounts do to freelancer being extremely flexible with scammers.
its insane, if i was rated in the top 3000 people, this means all the other accounts are just pure smokescreen, or people that leave very fast, that's really weird

they are also well know for manipulating currency conversion rates, and unexpected credit card charges, cause they force you to keep your card attached to have the verified payment method badge.

Be Really careful, use legit freelance marketplaces and stay away from !%#!@#$! Freelancer.com

Freelancer.com refund of the money

Dear Sir/Madam,

We would like to file an official complaint against the following organisation:

Freelancer Limited
Registered office
Level 20, World Square
680 George Street
Sydney, New South Wales
Australia 2000
ACN [protected]
[protected]@freelancer.com

We paid money to them for a project but required the work to be done speedily. They failed to deliver in time and the people who were going to carry out the project also failed to communicate anything with us. This is why we eventually decided to request a refund of the money that was paid to Freelancer.

Their Terms and Conditions are published here https://www.freelancer.com/about/terms. We believe we have complied with all these conditions. They simply will not reply to any of our messages either via their website or email.

The amount we paid and which we ask to recover is USD113.85. We have initiated a request for a chargeback through our bank also.

I would be grateful if you could advise what recourse we have in Australia against this company and what kind of support and advice your organisation is able to provide us with.

Thanking you and looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Mike Acourt,
Dynasoft Ltd

Freelancer.com account closed, money scammed

My account also has been closed with $1900 USD worth of milestones from our clients.

Plus $500 worth of withdrawable funds... they closed our account without notifying us the reasons why.

this happened twice already. at first they froze $300 worth or funds from us, their reason is because, we are not verified. after we verified the account still our money was still frozen...

Now the second time, they scammed us again... I talked with the customer support but they said to make a ticket. I can't make a ticket since my account was closed.

We lost all our money, We lost all our clients, We lost our business, and we lost our means of earning for a living. Regretfully, Freelancer.com indeed changed our lives. for the worst...

For all freelancers out there. Be careful with your money... Don't use freelancer.com.. they are scammers.

Freelancer.com how freelancer.com bankrupted me

I am a freelancer member since 2004(not here, on rentacoder/vworker). I have lots of reviews. Yet, my bid on the project shows me having 0 reviews and new member, placing my bid the last. This was a sure bid, I asked less than most(who asked too much for something simple) and I had by far the most ratings. Now, instead of waiting for the email telling me the client accepted my bid I can go watch Aston Villa - Man United and have some beers in peace...because my bid is gone.
I was a top rater on vworker.com. The site was bought by freelancer.com. So, I got from unlimited bids, no extra payments for anything(no cash2win or cash2earn), top 300 or 200 on a 300k users website(but active, not robots) with chances to work anytime I want, because I could bid to several projects at the same time -> to new member on a website with millions of members where I can bid 10 times per month, so virtually 0 chances to work. When I gave up my job and refused many others since I was counting on much better chances.
Not only that, they also removed me from the public directory because either they don't like my profile picture(same as fb, linkedin, skype, etc) or I didn't wanna play the monkey trick when they asked me to rerererevalidate my account and take a picture with my ID or driver license(the same one that me and some cops put our dirty hands on).
I don't think it's a fair thing to buy all the competition than do this...the websites they bought cared about their freelancers, because their only warning were the project fees, now with millions of users with very small chances to catch a project, the chances for them to pay to increase chances are high, giving them enough earnings not to care much about the project fees(which here you have to pay first, so you have to have money to be able to make some, sounds familiar), fees that are NON refundable, you pay the project fee they say so they will put you in touch with the client and that's all, they don't guarantee your earnings, like the websites they bought did, so you pay the fee and the client never responds, never pays. For me that's chance, you don't know the client, you can't be 100% that someone you chatted with about a project is serious.

Thank you

No 2 : They try to take money for the freelancer account to grow their market shares
No 3 : They don't let us know that account will be closed if you did this mistake again.
No 4 : Please check the proof attached below
No 5 : Account verification was giving error due to I can't login and they where asking for login

They play a game after suspending the account they give us the link to upload the document where they ask login and when you login you are shifted to suspended page if the person can't verify the document so how can they solve it. they play game like this please check the guys support me need your support.

Freelancer.com project fee deduction & penalty

Firstly:I recently did a project for the value of R444.00 for a client on Freelancer.com. After completing the the project the client released the milestone payment and my account was credited accordingly. The client then requested additional work and by mistake indicated the Budget amount as $150.00 instead of $15.00. Freelancer.com immediately deducted their 10% project fee ($15.00) from my Freelancer account, which I consider premature, unethical and unprofessional conduct as I haven't even started with the additional work, no milestone payment was yet in place and definitely no payment.
The premature deduction of the project fee for the additional work resulted that I do not have enough money in my Freelancer.com account to make a withdraw as there has to be a minimum of $30.00 in my account before I can make a withdraw.
Prematurely deducting project fees purely based on that the freelancer (me) simply accepted a project and before the client could even make a milestone payment and or a final payment, this action is a reflection of greediness on the part of Freelancer.com.

Secondly: Out of pure frustration I provided the client with my e-mail address. Since then the client cancelled the additional work / project. I then requested a refund of the project fee taken from my account. I suddenly received a formal warning that I violated their T & C's by providing my client with my e-mail address. I do not dispute this and I accept the formal warning. Here is the cherry on the cake, I received an e-mail from a person only known as Liz, informing me that I will not be refunded as Freelancer.com took the money as a penalty for violating their T & C"s. There were no mentioned made in the formal warning of any financial penalties. I never heard of a warning and a financial penalty been issued simultaneously for a first violation, how was the penalty amount calculated?

I think you missed two important points, namely:
Commission fees are taken before the project has commenced and before the freelancer received payment (before the fact).
Secondly The formal warning made no reference to a financial penalty, where I come from you first issue a warning and on a second offence you you take more severe actions such as a penalty. Finally I contested the penalty by sending a e-mail to your legal department and guess what--------- they did not even bother to respond or acknowledge receipt of my e-mail, stop trying to hide behind support desks, If you are sincere in trying to address freelancers complaints please post your personal e-mail address

Freelancer.com third class service of freelancer.com

Freelancer limited my account without any inform me...

I have 5 start ratings with all good reviews. But after successfully completed a project with payment & review, she complained against me... then freelancers tier 2 dept was not checking the conversations properly but block my account...

Many times I told to the freelancer, that the client use slang language in conversation. But freelancer was not warning her but blocked my account. Freelaner's tier 2 dept. is third class... they reply after 24 to 30 hours... from Monday my account is blocked... I acn't access it.

i told to the freelancer, if have you any doubt then arrange a meeting with client & one person will be from freelancer then he will decided .

But they don't do that... they told me that if I will settle teh matter with teh client in Private meesage box in freelancer then tehy will lift my account... But for limited account, I can't access the PMB.

So, I told teh freelancer to fix the issue. but they nothing to do that.

So, today I contact to the client in mail but now she blackmail me... She told if I gave her 100$ in paypal, then she will withdraw the money...

And still now, freelancer watching this & not solve the issue...

I am totally fade up...

A third class service of freelancer...

Freelancer.com protection of criminals

I don't even know where to begin! I've been with Freelancer for almost two years and have come across two scamsters in a matter of four weeks. All I can say is that there is no protection for a freelancer, only the employer! If only they employ the same technique of verification for the employer. After you've done the work you can never get that time back! Not only is it food off your table but also unnecessary time spent away from your family. If I'd known I was going to work for free I would rather have joined a charity and made a difference. Milestones mean NOTHING! I do not recommend this site to anyone! I have let all my contacts know of my experience. What will you do Freelancer.com without your Freelancers?

Freelancer.com I lost money there

hello,
my user on freelancer is omaqandeel
first sorry for my bad English, but i hope that you understand me
before 3 months i started work on freelancer.com, so i did about 90 projects till now with 5* ratings and good feedback's, now on 4/2/2015 i made withdrew of 1120$ and it was my balance about 1500$. so on Tuesday my request still on pending i asked the support team they told me it will be next 24 hours and i waited 24 hours and they told me your withdrew will processed on 10/2/2015, so i told therm i have a sick daughter in hospital i need to pay them because they will fire her if im not paying, they refuse to withdrew my money and prevent me of chatting on site, now im waiting to 10/2/2015 to be withdrawn, while today i will do a new one, i see that "Your account has been limited
for account security reasons until we can verify your identity. You can continue to work and receive payments, but you won't be able to transfer or withdraw funds. To verify your identity, visit the Verification Center."
so the now preventing me to withdrew my money, and asking me to upload my document, i did uploading the documents, and they still now don't want to approve my account and help me to get my money to help my daughter, so during i reviewing the site, i noticed that i have lost 500$ as refund for my employers, and i asked my employers to approve payemnts and they send me that they approve my payments and my employers send that to site, and the site till now refuse to pay me or refund me, these projects are completed with 100% with 5* ratings, the site suggesting them to pay me outside. after i delved the work to my employers it is huge stolen of my money here, i need help from any lawyer here,
please my daughter will die because of this site

hello,
im very sorry to hear that
i have three months while working and no problem was happened, the problem was started before 30 days when you made reverse of payment for my completed projects, these completed projects were completed with no issues and full payments was in place, also good feedback with 5*, so i contacted the site support, and they told me to contact employers, my employers contacted the site and they approve my payments, the site freelancer refuse to reverse the payment, to my account, and the support asked me to send my employers to pay me me outside freelancer, so what happened is the site was reversing money from new project payments to the old employers and this is huge problems, my employers saying that the money on freelancer website, and you are saying that there is no money for those employers " im talking bout 5 employers" with losing about 600$ -1000$ that i lost for nothing, after hard-work and ...

also on dispute system i lost more than 500$-1000$ for nothing, i have the approve that my employers were chatting with me on skype, and the site administrator saw that on their chat history, and they suspend my account and the employers no. and they refund theit money and me no, i just losing project fees...

i think the fast decisions for suspended accounts to me last month for no reason causes these troubles,
so be sure that i will share all my stories and my projects details as screenshots i kept them on my machine here on this site http://www.complaintsboard.com in the next a few days to make sure that all the new freelancers be aware from this site, next time,

i dont want to hurt anyone, but this site made me slave to work for free, work for money and the next day i have no money,

i think the policies on this site not strict enough and they are a lot of support members from your site who don't know anything about dealing with good people like me

all my payments were in the site, and i a paid all project fees, also i worked hard for that, but this site help me to build my career and in 10 seconds destroyed me

remember that i have about 500$ - 1000$ in my balance, if you want to close my account you need to send them first, else i have my ways to get my money back

thanks

Freelancer.com they take away more money than you make!

I would like to start by saying that freelancer.com and similar platforms have given me several projects and some very good long term relationships. I do not charge the lowest rates and still manage to win the few that are willing to pay a premium (compared to other bids atleast) for quality.
I have painstaking maintained an amazing profile with over a hundred testimonials and a perfect review score on all the parameters that they consider. This is what brings me new projects, new clients
Now that said, I come to my last few months with them and why I am suggesting killing a steady stream of revenue. Its not just due to the fraud but also a much stronger reason explained below.
I have realized that online fraud is probably ever growing and it is here to stay. Hundreds of projects asking to make a payment via Skrill (Moneybookers), in exchange for up to double the amount on freelancer, are being posted everyday. This means that a bunch of people have found that freelancer still accepts those stolen credit card numbers that they have in their hands and find ways to exploit people with the same.
I have reported this to freelancer before and got a standard canned response that there is nothing they would do about it. I just felt sad for those who were going to fall for this one but didn't realize I would be the one to be scammed very soon.
Over the last month I have had over 4 project payments reversed. One of them for a project that was completed some 2 months ago. There is not as much as a single email or notification regarding the same. (They do make it a point to send emails if your were not awarded a project and advice you to take one of their paid tests to improve your chances).
When I enquired, they refused to provide any details and asked me to handle it myself. Ofcourse, they choose to forget that their terms do not allow me from ever knowing who the other person is. There is no other modes of payment allowed and you have to take payments only through their platform and they specifically mentioned that they can at anytime and without giving any reason (like in my case) just take out the money. Money earned from genuine projects and hard work!
Now I report this again to freelancer calling on them for tighter security measures. For the charges they make us pay ( $50/month + 10-20% on an average), you would atleast expect them to have a better security system in place! All you get is a standard 'as a courtesy, we will refund your project fees'. Basically they will keep the money they just reversed and not tell you a damn thing about it.
When I planned to move out of it is when I realized a bigger problem. I had grown as a freelancer and earned a reputation that warranted paying the fees that I did. I had built a level of trust that does not come with portfolios of hundreds of projects or testimonials from people on your website. Because, well, there is no authenticity.
But by growing within freelancer, I had neglected forming my offline network. I did have a good client base I had got from there but not enough to sustain without new ones as the work was never regular. I had missed a very important step : creating a brand for myself outside of a third-party platform. Ensuring a good client base outside and ensuring that you use these platforms to only supplement you.
In the worst case, I make a lot of noise and freelancer digs deep enough to find some crazy rule that I had broken which justifies them deleting my account. In this scenario, I am left not only short of all the money I had in my account but also a profile that I had spent years to build.
This is the reason, you too should get out right now! Before its too late and you realize that you have grown so dependent on something that can never really be trusted and which you could loose at any time.
After posting this on social media, Senior Staff from freelancer contacted me and offered a resolution along with a compensation. For future projects, they ask me to contact the support team to ensure that the employers can be verified manually. They have also agreed to improve the transparency and give better insights about the employers.
Shockingly, immediately after that, they told me that I could not withdraw any money and needed to provide proof for projects completed 3 months ago! I gave them most of it including Files, docs, conversations and even live websites for which the payments had been reversed.
Almost a month after the last conversation and no communication from Mr. Michael Severino who had contacted me before and the support team just asks me to 'wait' while they sit on all my project earnings. Guess I learnt the hard way about exposing fraud and issues in companies like this! Only do it when they have nothing they can take away from you!

Freelancer.com freelancer.com stolen me more than $ 2000

Hello!

I come to denounce the job site freelancer.com, for over two months ago I received a complain from a client, freelancer limit my account and I suggested to reach some agreement with my employer, it was all a misunderstanding. After several days of discussion, me and my client got a favorable deal ... but my account continue limited. I've been in touch with the freelancer staff on several occasions, and always receive as answer that my case has been elevated to another department (which I do not know) and they have not received confirmation thereof. My message is repeated every 3 days and always get the same answer. My client confirm me that wrote to freelancer staff saying we no longer had any problem between us, the result is that my account is still suspended and currently I have 2000 USD... freelancer doesnot let me move.
The best part is that freelancer let me put bid in others projects and also receive payment, but as my account is limited, I can not do any widthdraw. Recent I got another project, performed all project requeriment, but as the final part, the customer wishes to publish an iOS application on appstore that takes implicit copyright channels, appstore denied this application and my angry customer decides to create a complaint against me claiming false criteria. As a result freelancer contact me and ask me explanation, I would have commanded overwhelming, irrefutable evidence, I have sent my full development and freelance keeps insisting that I should contact my client and reach some agreement. Definitely, after so much abuse, I am convinced that my suspension rason are the more than 2000 USD that are on my account, are not the employer complaints. They have simply determined that I will remain limited indefinitely and my money remain at thieir bank. I'm actually quite disappointed with the actions of freelancer.com simply are abusers and fraudsters work of programmers.
Basically I work as a freelancer, I have pregnant wife and working this way is my only sustenance for me and my family.
Freelancer.com is based on stupid excuses to steal money from developers. The options you have:
1. Never charge for freelancer.com.
2. Never have more than $ 100 in your account, withdraw money quickly.
3. Do not register any credit card, paypal, skrill ... freelancer.com can withdraw money from your account without asking.

Freelancer.com is the biggest fraud of existing sites, work there is the real disgrace.

Hi there. I want to say that i perfectly understand what you are saying and i believe you because i'm having trouble with this fraudulent company (if you can even call it a company).

This is how i got scammed:
My account was hacked because i downloaded a virus from their site (which shouldn't have been there by the way).
Then i requested my account was blocked so no money would be stolen from my account.
Now they told me i have to verify my account, so i had to send some documents to prove my identity which i did send (italian and uruguayan passports with my address and name, date of birth, picture of me holding a verification code they gave me, etc).

The thing is they say it's not me.. Even if i'd sent all the documents requested on this link several times:

https://www.freelancer.com/users/limit-account/verification_center.php

Now i'm able to keep working on projects but i'm not able to get my money!
This is outrageous, I've sent all the things they requested many times and i always get the same ###ing answer where they ask me to provide some documents that i've already sent for over 10 times!

So my advice is, don't think the support team is going to try to help you on any matter because they won't.
They will just reply with the same crap over and over again. That's what they are there for of course.

I'm wondering, Is it possible to sue them? They clearly deserve it.

I have more than 200 euro on my account which now they have stolen.

Freelancer.com financial fraud

Freelancer has always had a problem with anyone I have talked to in regards to validating your account, bullying others and overcharging.

Here's a new low though, they TOOK over $500 for a project that was done over 4 months ago and never notified me! This is a very new low and we are now working on federal actions as we have heard this happening to 20 other freelancers.

Freelancer.com is 100% unethical and doing ILLEGAL actions. Why else would they do it in a sneaky way?

Again, we have had to use countless measures and assistance from my lawyer to deal with other issues but this issue right here is an all time low! If there was a problem with the employee's account and they tricked Freelancer.com in regards to money, freelancers should not have to carry the financial burden and loose the money 4 MONTHS LATER!
