Do not buy this woman's puppies. She comes across at first that she is a caring breeder but she is not. I bought a female puppy from her and was rushing her to the vet the next day. Round Worms, Parasites, Blood in her poop, fever. I wasn't expecting to have a 800 vet bill in the first 24 hours of owning her but here I am. I called the breeder and told her I was not paying an 800 bill when I was expecting an healthy pup. She told me that the pup must of got sick after she left her house. Sick how? We brought her home to a nice clean house, she had all new toys and dog bed and only had her for 16 hours
She will do nothing about this and will no longer call me back, this woman is scum and should NOT BREED
I called this Jan Gray and from the start I didn't feel good about our conversation, she was really talkitive and when I asked her a question I thought was important she would cut me off. I think it was about 6 months later she called to say she had a female pup for me which I wasn't expecting to hear from her again. Because the Leonberger is very European breed they are hard to find so I thought I might change my mind when I met her. The pups were in a very small room that smelled very strong of bleach and were adorable. We picked the biggest female for the other smaller girl didn't look well and Jan GraY said she was the runt.
The first week of getting her I had to rush her to the vet for she had blood in her poop, took several vet visits and antibiotics to clear that up. Then she got a bladder infection so another round of antibiotics and non stop vet visits. Then she caught kennel cough not sure where for we only go to leashed dog parks. It just seemed like she would get over one prescription and we would be heading back to the vet. I finally called Jan Gray and told her everything that was going on, I was nice on the phone for I just wanted to know if there was something I could give her that would help her immune. She was very snippy with me for no reason at all, stating she didn't pay vet bills. I never once asked her to pay my bills so I am guessing now she gets a lot of calls like mine to be so defensive. My vet bills are now over 6000 dollars and my vet thinks she may have autoimmune problem. She's my girl and I will do whatever I can to help her get through this but would never recommend this breeder Jan Gray to Anyone.. I knew my gut was right when I first talked to her, she is a very fake person with no compassion...and very sick Puppies!
Hello, The same thing happened to us, her Puppies are Very Unhealthy. Our girl is now 3 and has been in the vet more than she has been home, I have called Jan several times, leaving messages finally I just gave up. She is a terrible person and a terrible breeder with no compassion. I called her for I needed help trying to figure out what was wrong with our girl, wasn't wanting anything else but help and she couldn't even call me back. I could see if I had purchased a mutt on Kijiji I would expect no call backs or help but I didn't I bought from a breeder that at the time I thought she was good and close enough where I didn't need to fly a pup. Big Mistake, don't support this breeder by buying her sick puppies, our vets bills are easy over 5000, she is on daily medication that is over 200 a month and we don't have this extra money every month for all her back and forth visits. When I bought a puppy from her, she was so nice and said many times how fricking healthy her pups were and how she stands behind her pups. Everything she preached was all lies which cost me dearly
