on the face of it this web sites appears legitimate, only problem is it ids based in China!
Odd that an Englishcompany has started selling from China?
ANyway no where on the website does it show that it is based in China, then why would it as it is deliberately set up in order o full the public into handing over money for goods they will never receive.
They use http://www.billingsupportsystem.com which appears to be complicit in the fraud.
for example
i wrote to www.barbour-jacket.net asking where the items were and billingsupportsystem replied to my query, NB they are operating a scam!
I have contacted Visa who tell me they are investigating.
God knows what that means, I now have the hassle of filling in a 5 page document in order to recover my losses.
I am not a naive first time on the internet newby, I do not get conned like this, the problem is these companies to all intensive purposes appear to be legitimate, what i do not get is that Visa some where down the line has allowed Billingsystems to become a registered agent.
Are they so desperate to do business in China that they bypass their own checks and measures?
One other thing my credit card details were fraudulently used to try and buy merchandise in excess of £500, I have no doubt that Billinsystems were either behind this or complicit in this
AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Likewise, I'm an experienced internet shopper but got caught out on this occasion when buying a Barbour jacket from what I thought was a "Barbour Outlet" store as the item I required has been discontinued on the Official site and I assumed they were selling them off cheap at outlet prices. There are numerous fake Barbour sites on the web and I've made it my mission to report as many as possible to Barbour so they can use their strength to have them closed down.
If you find any, report them as follows:

I too was stung by yet another bogus Barbour "official" dealer.Barbourjacketsuk.com. I quickly realised but too late, that I received no email confirmation of my order after paying.I then mailed them several times and got no response.Oh, the wonders of hindsight!
Anyway, further perusal of said website revealed some bad english so I checked out the domain registration, which of course was in China. I went next day to my bank, Barclays, who, as others have said, couldnt help. I reported the event to Barbour themselves on their "brandprotection" email, but though they obviously took action as the bogus website rapidly disappeared, did not have the courtesy to acknowledge my reporting of it! Doesnt say much for them Im afraid. These jackets last a long time but I shant be buying another.

me too! scammed! And as for Barclaycard, 2 foreign call centre operatives to add further to my woes, little sympathy or admission to being complicit, one thing is certain, I will never use my barclaycard again

I have also been scammed to the tune of £308 after purchasing two jackets on barboursale2012.com, cant beleive i have been such a fool!
On closer inspection of their website it now looks blatantly obvious its all a scam. I dont think i'll see my money again as i used a visa debit card.
I informed my bank within an hour of the purchase but they claim to be powerless to stop the transaction and can only investigate once the payment appears on my account. (lloyds tsb)
I have also emailed the address to ask them to cancel my order, Fat chance!

We have since received our money back from VISA and notified Barbour that this scam is out there, Barbour have published on their own website a whole series of websites that are known scamming sites... Visa waited 15 days for the offence to pas the standard period for goods to be received. they also advise that the retailer has the right within next 60 days to request their funds back from us, as the Barbour goods will not arrive this is unlikely.
I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT THIS IS NOT A LEGITIMATE BARBOUR SITE AND HAS NO CONNECTION TO THE COMPANY WHERE WITH THE AUTHENTIC GOODS ARE AVAILABLE.

It also happened to me. I thought the website was legit and i thought nothing of it until they wouldn't reply to my emails. Instead i received a peak performance jacket! I feel like a real idiot and I will not be seeing that £90.00 again!
DO NOT USE THIS SITE OR THIS ONE http://www.barbourjacket-uk.org ! I now have noChristmass present or money to buy anything else :(

This has happened to us as well! I feel like an idiot! We contacted them on numerous occasion's but with no reply. Then last week 2 Peek performance jackets arrived! I have contacted Visa and they are investigating but what are the chances we get anything back? Slim to none. Do not use this site you will be scammed.

Yep those ### did me to. Steer clear. The hardest part is it looks pretty professional as a website and you don't read all the blurb. If you do you will realise it has not been written by someone who is native English speaking! Then of course after you have ordered there is no order confirmation and they don't reply and of course there is no contact phone number,

I too have bee scammed by this website www.barbour-jacket.net recently, since ordering and paying the website and telephone support number do not operate anymore! I have relayed the same information to First Direct Visa who are disputing the transaction.

Further to the previous complaint the Barbour jackets did not arrive but we have since received a small package from China (shoe box size) which was signed for via courier. As far as the company is legally concerned they have shipped our products to us. Albeit that we now have 2 lightweight jackets from Peak Performance! The payment company used in our scam was www.sfepay.com. No communication was received when emailing these companies.
