You will NEVER COLLECT CLAIM $!

Don't ever buy travel insurance from this company. Everyone I've spoken with who knows anyone who has filed a legitimate claim Access America has NEVER collected! Apparently, they are a FRAUD! I have suggested to Continental Airlines that they obtain a new travel insurance company.
In November, my mother was supposed to fly to Portland, OR, but we bought the insurance since we had purchased the ticket 3 months earlier. She injured her back and hip and ended up in the hospital, obviously unable to fly! The doctor filled out their stupid LONG claim forms and signed, stamped, sealed and sent them back. DENIED! No logical reason, they just said that the claim did not comply with their "standards" and would not explain further. The "supervisor" I spoke with was not very bright and extremely unhelpful. This company needs to be on 20/20 on TV so that the entire country can know what a rip off it truly is!

I HAVE BEEN SKEPTICAL ABOUT THIS COMPANY FROM THE VERY START AND I AM BEGINNING TO HAVE GOOD REASON. I RECENTLY TOOK A TRIP WITH MY GIRLFRIEND AND THE CAR KEY TO OUR RENTAL WAS STOLEN. I EVENTUALLY FAXED OVER ALL THE INFORMATION THAT THEY HAD SAID I NEEDED. NOW THEY SAY THEY NEED 6 MORE DIFFERENT DOCUMENTS THAT ARE GOING TO BE DIFFICULT TO GET NOW THAT THE TRIP WAS ALMOST 3 WEEKS AGO. ONE DOCUMENT THEY HAD ASKED FOR WAS " ITEMIZED RECEIPT FOR REPAIR" FROM THE CAR RENTAL COMPANY"

Do not use this company; they do not stand behind their promises. In France two years ago, my wife and I took a train to Charles DeGaulle airport to catch a flight home. But the train broke down and we arrived at the airport 20 minutes after the flight had left. We had to spend the night at an airport hotel, and the airline charged us $300 each to change our tickets. Total out-of-pocket: $832. AccessAmerica's policy clearly stated that they compensate for expenses related to missed flights of this kind. But the company rejected our claim. When asked why, they replied that they only make payment if a flight is missed by more than six hours. When we asked them what the hell's the difference between six hours and six minutes, they replied "That's our policy." Go figure.

Let's take action.

I've filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau http://www.bbb.org/.

I am also in the process of filing a complaint with the Attorney General of Virgina (since their business is based in Arlington) http://www.oag.state.va.us/

I will also complain to my perspective airline (United).

Can we file a class action suit against them? Is there one started?

I agree with everyone else about Access America Insurance Company. They are a fraud and
should be reported to the Attorney General's Office for fraud. I think they puposely deny the
claim so that the money will be a commission forwarded to the adjuster who denies the claim.
They are not a reliable or trustworthy company and should be put out of business. Jet Blue should not have their good reputation spoiled by being associated with Access America. Insurance Co.
